The best experience I’ve had at any Sephora or makeup store EVER. T.T, Danny and Eryn are great at their job. Not only are they knowledgeable but they’re also attentive. Danny made sure to bring in not one but two people to help find my best foundation & concealer shade. T.T gave me her knowledge and opinions but most importantly made sure she listened to my preferences. They gave me many options to choose from and weren’t rushing me to get me on my way. I can go on and on about them, they’re just such an amazing team!
So I adore EVERYTHING in here ❤️ Especially the perfume!
CLEAN!This Sephora has gone above and beyond making sure that everything is disinfected b/w use (as in not only the counter BUT ALSO THE KEYPAD), they help you with samples or shade matching so there isnt all of this contamination on the products. Their customer service is AMAZING! I accidentally left behind a purchased item. They called me personally, and also gave me a goodie bag or my troubles! The sweetest staff! Way to go ladies!
I wrote a review the other day (refer to below) about the treatment my daughter and I received from a staff member at Sephora . The manager called me immediately the next day to get details in order to correct this. She was polite and genuine in her concern to address this with all staff so it would not happen again. Thank you.==================================I understand the precautions we all need to take during the COVID-19 era but what an associate did to me and my 8 year old was at an extreme. Once she snapped at my daughter for touching an item I may have interest in by raising her voice and saying, “Don’t touch!” Then snapped at me for putting down my mask to take a sniff of the smells at the store. I was upset. The reviews rate this store is a 4.3. I did not see the exceptional customer service service here. Please help.

Edit 7/5/2021: Updating my review today after I received some amazing service from one of the employees. I needed to update information on my account and they were so welcoming and helpful. They offered to update my pronouns as well. Thank you for making an enby feel so comfortable in a place that is typically feels catered towards one gender.Ive been to this location several times and overall Im happy with it. They always have what I need and its organized and clean. The service can be hit or miss which is why I only gave it 4 stars and not 5. When they are on, they are ON. If you are lucky to get a good representative they will go above and beyond for you. If you dont, you are a bit out of luck and will either stand around waiting or have to hunt someone down. I know you can get samples but its never been offered to me.

Its always a mixed bag here because they seem to go through staff and there are constantly kids and tourists rolling through destroying the place.This store is very small so their selection could be better.The service is decent and if you buy the mainstream products, then its likely they carry it.My rec - if you need to try something or want to browse, go in, otherwise, use the website.
Erin is a rock star! I grew up as a tomboy, and am newer to all this beauty stuff. I have avoided asking questions in the past for fear of being patronized for my lack of knowledge. Erin made me feel comfortable, helped me find exactly what I needed, made AMAZING recommendations, and helped me practice applying some items. I cannot thank her enough for helping me be my most beautiful self.
The employees here are so helpful. They will help you to match colors, they are great at recommending products that are truly helpful for what do you need, they will give you samples so that you can be sure its actually what you want. In particular, Ive had great help from Angela and Betty. If you sign up to be a beauty Insider you can get a free birthday gift!Update: Jesus is delightful help with color matching and Lena is a maverick at finding fragrances. Im still consistently receiving great service at this location.Update: Just had my makeup done by Aileen. She was wonderful. She was very good about explaining everything so I would know how to do it at home. She was super friendly.This is a delightful place to shop.
Always greeted as I enter. Always asked if I have found what I am looking for. The clerks know the inventory, and usually recommend an alternative if the item isnt in store.

As always way too many fun things to buy! Erin was the associate that helped me find the perfect matte for long-wear and matched my skin to the new powder I was interested in. She was super friendly and knowledgeable. She got me samples to try and was just as gracious to the tweens wanting free stuff which I thought was really awesome customer service. Great experience and awesome products!

Ill give this a solid four. the people in there were kind and helpful and the location is great. the reason this didnt get a five is because of the lack of a mens fragrance dept. they did have a pretty good selection but not enough for the more experienced fragrance person. if they would expand the mens fragrance dept and have some more niche fragrances this could really be something

I go to Sephora almost every month and not once have I been treated disrespectfully. The staff always finds me exactly what I need and helps me figure out what would work best for my skin. Absolutely love this store and shop only here for my makeup and skincare needs!

I went here with my girlfriend, and she got a makeover while we were there. The makeup wasnt bad, but wasnt great. I got the sense that staff are under a lot of pressure to sell, and it was a bit uncomfortable.
I have to say, this could have been a one-star review but the manager Summer turned it around. I shop at Sephora a lot, a lot, and rarely return anything. I had to return a recent purchase because it was just terrible and expensive, but for whatever reason, I was turned away because the product wasn’t returned in brand new condition (of course not, I definitely tried to use it). I called corporate, they called the store, and Summer called me personally to apologize and welcome me back in to return the product. Not only did they take it back, but they gave me a gift for my inconvenience! THAT’S customer service, and it’s so hard to find in retail these days. Also shout out to Eileen who was a sweetheart despite her floor manager giving me trouble.

I put headphones on when I walk into this Sephora simply because an employee will bug you every thirty seconds when I’m shopping and I’m the kind of person who doesn’t want to be bugged. I know what I want and I don’t want to be sold extra items I don’t need. You can tell they’re under a lot of pressure to sell which can be comfortable. Plus, I just get the feeling that they think I’m going to steal something and I’m not even a POC so there’s no stereotype for me. Can’t imagine what POC feel walking into this Sephora.

Unfortunately I dont know who the Sephora thinks they are but they are so rude and youre not accommodating to their customers once youre a loyal customer. What I mean by this is if youre a familiar face they just feel like the brush you off and dont need to help you but if youre somebody who looks new to them they will bug you and go down every aisle and stalk you.
EXPENSIVE! Fun to browse & buy sales but not kid friendly place. Reminds you of how you struggle financially.

Never shopping here again! All associates were watching me as if I was going to steal they made me feel so uncomfortable. Following me around the store and constantly asking if I needed help. When I went to pay the manager “needed” to speak to the cashier whispering to her while looking at me. Won’t be coming back.

Great place to grab everything I need! Fortunately, I was a makeup artist for years so I know what to get and dont need assistance. However, Sephora is the only place to get quality makeup in SLO.
My husband and I went in on a Sunday morning. I walked by four staff members who did not say a word to me. I was NEVER greeted even though there was approximately only three other shoppers in the store and when I was purchasing my product I was just waiting for the cashier to ask if anyone helped me because I was going to make it known that NO ONE said a WORD to me. Rude. Its not hard to greet people and make them feel welcome. I honestly could have purchased the same product from Ulta and I actually should have just went there instead.

Ive been shopped here several times and the women here are a nightmare. Theyre rude, make you feel like youre shoplifting, and upon check out offer no warmth. Ive been to dozens of other Sephoras in California and this one stands out as the WORST Ive ever been to. They were extremely rude to me on three occasions and on one occasion, I overhead two of them talking on their headsets about my cousins hair extensions. Theyre nothing but a group of catty, nasty, and bratty inexperienced young little girls.
Sadly I will have to say as much as I loved going to SLO literally almost twice a month to “purchase” I don’t want to go anymore. The new managers make you feel very uncomfortable! They follow you around and stare you down. If you ask a question they look bothered or act like their above you. I’ve gone plently plenty of times and let me tell you the last couple times I’ve gone this has happened. Is it because I go many times that these girls think otherwise? Look I order online Lots! Sephora has a great return policy so If i order something I dont like I will drive an hour to your store ro return. Look up my beauty Insider card and look at the amount of money I spend. I work in customer service and let me tell you I’ve NEVER made a customer feel this way. Im sorry ladies but maybe you Are working in the wrong place or maybe you should be taught Some customer service. I hope this has nothing to do with race! Because sometimes we come off as #1 you dont have money so they dont help you..or #2 your stealing. Which by the looks of some comments below im not the only one. The next time I go in to the store and this happens I will be calling corporate . The 1 starbgoes to Erin that has always been helpful and welcoming and 2 ladies and 1 man in the skin care side that are amazing!Again guys I really only leave honest reviews. My boss goes above and beyond to hire employees with outstanding customer service and flies us to many places for trainers to help us excell in world class customer service so I take this very seriously. Not only my job but my parent taught me to treat everyone equal.
My experience at Sephora at the San Luis obispo,ca location was terrible. The manager continued to follow me around the store until she called security who than took over for her. I felt very uncomfortable. I was unable to shop in peace as security stood over me & than proceeded to tell me I couldnt try on samples. I was looking for a gift for a friend & didnt purchase anything because of it.As the only Ethnic face in the building I felt very uncomfortable and wont be spending my money in the San Luis Obispo location ever.

They claim that Sephora in Santa Maria is not a Sephora. Snotty manager in slow wouldnt give me a regional number to call. Sounds like false advertising and crappy customer service. Last time I buy a gift card for my wife at Sephora anywhere.
I recently went into the San Luis Obispo store for one item. I stood in line where the sign said something like Line forms here. Apparently I was in the wrong area for waiting because the cashier asked another customer to be next. When I spoke up and said I had been waiting before her, the cashier just told me I was standing in the wrong place. Both she AND the customer should have let me go ahead. Very rude of both of them. I will never go into that store again. We have ULTA and MAC that arrived after Sephora. If I could have chosen zero stars I would have.
