Very impressed with everything here! Kaitlyn our cashier had great energy even for 6 PM on a Sunday evening! The flavors were pure and supremely natural tasting and that gooey/chewy tayaki hit the spot, not to mention with the black sesame filling and in-house made strawberry topping. My accompanying friend who isn’t really into this type of dessert also commended the overall experience and quality. Will definitely be coming back!

Simple flavors of matcha and they are very tasty.I like the roasted hojicha ice cream most, you can taste the real roasted flavor of the tea and it’s not so sweet. Would come back to just have that again. Staff are friendly there.

The black sesame paste that they put in the pastry is a perfect blend of sweet and savory. The ice cream is also very good, and not overly and cloyingly sweet. Only complaint is that they close a bit on the earlier side and often are not open when the post-dinner sweet tooth hits.

Got the matcha ice cream (soft serve), 3 piece red bean taiyaki, and matcha honey latte. Everything was great. So great, we went back for another latte. Just the right sweetness and without the odd fake flavors and colors like some other places. Nice, strong matcha flavor in the soft serve. Super friendly worker manning the cashier and making everything. I would bring cash or venmo.

Great drinks and Taiyaki. Got Lychee Matcha Tea, and strawberry Yuzu tea. Only reason didnt give a 5 star is because they only accept cash and venmo, no card payments.

Ive visited twice during their soft opening and Ive fallen in love! They have the most delicious taiyaki! Both their taiyaki and taiyaki snacks are amazing. The fillings are delicious! I love the black sesame (the taiyaki snack also has a matcha which is amazing as well!). During my second visit, they added a hojicha flavor which is totally my jam. While I do want to say Ive had better soft serve, the taiyaki totally makes up for it.I came during their soft opening, and felt like the interior wasnt the best use of space. There isnt a lot of seating inside, and there is definitely the space for it. The parking lot can get a little crazy during prime dining hours, so be aware of that as well.

Finally found a place where to get my matcha fix. Their sesame ice cream is also amazing. The waffles are to die for! Everything is homemade there. Totally recommend.

First time visit, got lychee matcha tea. What can I say? I will be back tomorrow! :)P.S. They charge fee for credit card, shouldnt be a problem if you have Venmo.UPDATE: came back the next day and tried yuzu match & white peach matcha tea. Everything is delicious! Just real fruit, cane sugar and high quality matcha. Must try!!!

The taiyaki here is a work of art 😍🤤 Always freshly made with a delicately sweet crisp exterior and a mouth-wateringly warm and chewy interior. Warm, almost savory matcha filling with the incredibly creamy black sesame or matcha ice cream is my favorite combo, but you really can’t go wrong with any of their options. They’ve somehow achieved *the* perfectly balanced dessert, the one I’ve dreamed of my whole life. We drive all the way from Redwood City on the regular for this masterpiece, and most of the time I can’t resist ordering a double order...immediately after eating an enormous dinner.One million stars 🌟

Best place to get Matcha taiyaki

Strawberry Yuzu flavor is a unique combo that other matcha/boba places dont have and it is definitely refreshing. The only downside is that only one worker is on shift and somehow others behind me were served first, which caused a 20+ min wait while there was no acknowledgement of why there was an additional wait time. Would be a 3.5 star if half stars can be set, otherwise round up for the taste.

Got the matcha ice cream with charcoal taiyaki filled with black sesame filling. So yummy! Ice cream was perfect and not too sweet and taiyaki Halloween special spooky cone was perfectly crunchy and soft on the inside. To die for!!! It’s a bit on the pricey end ($7) but so worth it!

Awesome homely matcha shop! Highly recommend for locals or visitors alike. If you like boba, this is a great place to try similar tasting drinks without the pearls. The strawberry matcha latte with oat milk is an excellent go-to drink that youll never get tired of going back for seconds! Do note that they currently only accept cash and venmo, so remember to bring bills or setup your venmo account beforehand. Usually its not very busy since they are very quick to make drinks. Do stop by if youre in the area!

My real Japanese friend told me its very authentic from Japan. Very creamy and rich flavor unlike another chain that tasted very powdery and bland. Very friendly staff and big image of Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto thats reversed for some reason. 🍦🍵💚

Best iced matcha I’ve had outside Japan or Los Angeles Japan town. Place clearly appreciates matcha itself and the nuanced flavors of the tea shine through without being overpowered by sweetness, which is the mistake of every other matcha place. The iced honey Matcha tea is incredible – the default is very light on sweetness, and has a strong Matcha flavor without the bitter kick you normally get at this level of intensity. MUST try though I’d say many Americans might not find it dessert-y enough.

I ordered the intense matcha cup with rainbow mochi and black sesame taiyaki. The matcha ice cream was light with a subtle, pleasant taste of matcha, and the rainbow mochi had good texture and flavor. The highlight for me, however, was their delicious black sesame taiyaki--crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, with a good amount of black sesame filling. Definitely coming back again!

I am impressed with the service. I had no idea how to order the fish cone thing... but wow it is delicious. My toddler ate most of the fish waffle (taiyaki?).

Had their intense matcha ice cream, honey matcha latte and hojicha latte. And they were absolutely delicious. Intense matcha ice cream took me straight back to Japan and is definitely the best in the Bay Area. So happy that we found a new gem to pay regular visit during this pandemic time.

The food here is amazing. The matcha green tea ice cream is delicious and the taiyaki looks amazing. They do an excellent job with their display as well.The only thing that is different is they dont take card, only Venmo or cash.

Fish cone is excellente! You can just eat the fish cone by itself because its really delicious. My family likes the ice cream, I personally rather have Haagen Daz. Ive gone a few times after picking up my kids (between 3 to 4pm on weekdays) from school and it has been closed. They need to get a website up and linked to Google and have their hours posted so I dont waste my time going there when it is closed.

This spot would be 5 stars if it was matcha soft serve only. But I had to knock down a star for their taiyaki. Unfortunately, the taiyaki are premade rather than made to order, so instead of a warm fluffy fish, you get a cold dry one.The flavor of the matcha here is on point though. Not too sweet with just the slightest tinge of bitter grassy flavor. The matcha custard was good as well. The hojicha soft serve flavor was too sweet and creamy.The prices here for the soft serve + taiyaki are also higher than at somi somi. Izumi should just stick to what theyre good at - the matcha.

I never knew how much honey and matcha go together. I ordered the honey matcha latte and its so delicious. I have been looking and trying different places, boba places, cafes and tea places and this is the real deal. I am happy to find this place. I finally found a place to get real matcha drinks and great quality matcha tea I can purchase. And thank you to the lady who was kind enough to give me some information on matcha green teas.
