Couldnt miss out on Humphrey Slocombe on a trip to San Francisco! This was the last night I was in San Francisco and had to get my boyfriend this experience before we left.We got to the store 3 minutes before they closed and the person at the counter actually turned us down. I requested again if we could have just a scoop because we were visiting were leaving the next day.She was so sweet and we actually had a good conversation after that. She even gave us a tiny bit of extra of a different flavor of your considering just so we could try it.Now for the main part...1. Secret Breakfast - bourbon flavored ice cream with corn flakes in there. What a beautiful one this was! Definitely definitely worth the hype! Perfect amount of bourbon and the crunch of the corn flakes and everything was just amazing. I wouldnt be able to stop at a scoop if I had that entire pint on me.2. Stout and Ginger Cookie - another unbelievably good one! This was a seasonal and oh so good! That rich malt flavor of the stout and chunks of ginger cookies in there. Genius!Overall really creamy ice cream, perfectly sweet and a must-try!!

Line was extremely long or they would get 5 stars. Most flavors are great and unique.Wait time when we were there was over 45 min. Gotts was similar length for soft serve but line moved faster there. If youre there with young children though, better have a line holder while the other adult(s) walk the kids around or entertain them.

I think I’m too picky with ice cream. I feel like the ice cream here melts too fast but maybe it’s because the last few were ones with alcohol components. They have a new Van Gogh sundae which has turmeric and sun flower seeds. I could have done without the hot fudge. It’s in a great location for an after dinner treat

My all time favorite is the Blue Bottle Vietnamese Ice Cream. Its not an in your face coffee ice cream experience. Rather, it has a deliciously velvety and almost buttery mouthfeel that I have dreams about!Whenever I come to Humphrey Slocombes and dont know what to get or cant try flavors (like now, during COVID), I always know that the Blue Bottle will never let me down.

Came in tonight with my family and I looking for the free Cornflake Crunch pints for vaccinations, but they were out! Understandable given how busy it was, but the guy scooping was super rude about it. We ended up grabbing scoops that weren’t exactly the most presentable…just plopped on one another. we should have just grabbed pints on the go. It’s a shame because we’re regulars, and have never had any other run-ins. Hope to come back for a better experience (maybe on a day we don’t run into the eyerolls)

Note that I purchased this via Dashmart and wanted to leave a review here for the ice cream specifically. The ice cream is real good but some interesting notes. 1) Some flavors like the Malt Chocolate are super sweet. Its not my thing. Other flavors like Caramel with Chocolate Nibs are much more balanced and actually I like that a lot better since the sweet doesnt overpower and I get to taste the great complex flavors of caramel, chocolate and even hints of coconut. 2) I bought a lot of ice cream and found that some pints came sealed and other did not. You can see in the picture that I took. The pints without seals dont look tampered with but its weird that some are sealed and others are not.

Is it really absolutely necessary to play super explicit, uncensored rap music in an ice cream shop? Im just trying to cop some ice cream on a Sunday afternoon with my kids...Can things just be regular? Innocent? Enjoyable? Does Everything HAVE to be edgy? Its ice cream dude. This wouldve been a solid four-to-five star review otherwise. Despite the way-high prices.

Awesome ice cream. Love the flavors with lots of mix-ins. Recommend buying pints to take home so you can get more bang for your buck! One strange thing is that they seem to take 15-minute breaks throughout the day where they lock the door, so if you arrive at the beginning of one of those breaks, you have to wait outside for a while just to get in and check out the flavors. Nonetheless, it is worth the wait!

Traumatic experience. I arrived at 830 and according to Google it closes at 1030. Even the door says it closes at 1030. I arrived and the door was locked, I waved inside and worker looked so mad and started giving me the cut throat motion. I waved again and they started yelling at me to go away. I was really sad and the ppl outside told me the owner is in a really bad mood thats why. I will not recommend this experience to anyone.

I received this ice cream as a gift via Goldbelly. It arrived in very good condition, youd never guess it had been shipped across the country. I had the Honey Graham, Secret Breakfast, Black Sesame, and Caramel Cocoa Nib. For my taste they were pretty meh. Three were interesting and ok, not a particularly great mouth feel. The Black Sesame, which I was most excited about, was a real disappointment. Im sure it would be a great component in a dessert but its no stand alone for me. My kids left all four pints for me after tasting just one, they were that off-put. In the end I ate them all after making hot fudge, caramel, and blackberry sauces. I enjoyed it well enough but still it was nothing special. Secret Breakfast doesnt have a strong alcohol taste which is nice.

I wish I could say this was great ice cream. I wish I could want to go back. Unfortunately, I cant..There were several issues. I can tell the ice cream is improperly frozen because there are noticeable ice crystals throughout all of their flavors I tried. This typically happens when ice cream is frozen too slow and is considered a beginners mistake. The other issue I had with the ice cream was the attempt to mask a lackluster base with far too much sugar. I ended up picking the two flavors that seems least sugary after tastings. I still felt the sickeningly sweet aftermath of my consumption. They get an extra star for creativity. If you want properly made ice cream, check out Garden Creamery or Bi-Rite. It may have lines and less interesting flavors, but the base is rich, the ice cream is properly frozen, and its usually not too sweet.

What they lack in creative names (nothing) they make up for with creative flavors (Have you ever had a Red Hot Banana Ice Cream?).
