Love this place, and my mom was impressed, too (she loves Vietnamese desserts and grew up on them in Vietnam). This place definitely makes the flavor/ingredient combinations more complex and fusion-like than the average Vietnamese bakery/restaurant that sells similar treats, but they are really good and worth it. Another important thing is that they arent too sweet! Service is relatively fast. One area they could improve on is cleaning the tables. The one time I went in February, the tables were really disgusting and had crumbs and spilled drinks on them.
I came across this shop while walking. I was thirsty and so decided to go for a bubble tea. But this place actually had much more then that. It has selection of other unique looking drinks that I never seen before. The one I went for - forgot the name, but was absolutely incredible. It was definitely unique. It was cold, and warm, Liquid and jelly at same time. Would absolutely recommend to try out their selection!
Its been so long I havent order from Bambu. Today I tried mango drink. Wow so good. Next time Im going to try red bean with coconut milk.
Really unique boba place. I got the number six and it was pretty good
#10 is very gooood...the tea eggs are yummy as well!
Great service and the fruit addiction drink I bought was seriously scrumptious. It was like a fruit salad in a drink! I loved the large pieces of fresh coconut and lychee.
Fantastic, authentic Vietnamese deserts. I would highly recommend this place.
I ordered the Bambu favorite (forgot what it was actually called but it’s the one with the red bean, taro, pandan jelly, & coconut milk) and something in that drink didn’t taste right. I ordered it with 25% sweetness. I thought it was just me but I had my girlfriend taste the drink and she too said that it tasted like something was bad. We couldn’t drink it. It could have been the coconut milk or something. We didn’t find out that the drink was bad until we were a few miles away and didn’t really feel like driving back, looking for parking, etc. too bad because I’ve been here before and really enjoyed the drinks and wanted my girlfriend to try it for the first time. For reference, I was there on 6/19/20. Maybe you can check your ingredients if anything is expired.
Love supporting my local viet businesses
My favorite drink is Smash Avocado. Love it.Love their pandan waffle too but they’ve changed the recipe which is not good as the old one. Too bad. I wish they switch back to the old recipe.
I love this place.. people here are super friendly and efficient.. love their drinks. Super on point.. love it..definitely coming here every time I come to the city..
Good variety, and interesting ingredients. Too sweet for my taste.
One of the best boba spots in the city and everyone that works here is super nice! They always make me a special drink that is not on the menu and it’s very clean. Love this place! Cheers!
Stopped by here one day on my way to the beach to get a pandan waffle so I could have a snack to eat while watching the sunset. The service was friendly and the waffle was good, probably shouldve tried one of their drinks.
Awesome friendly staff that makes me a special drink that is not even on the menu! My favorite Boba spot in all of SF!
Good place!, try bambu special ( pandan, coconut and lychees) is amazing !
Great deserts and drinks !Good serves from BAMBU。My favorite drink is Black Tea and Thai Tea(With Boba)👍
Food was not very good like the Sacramento location. Ordered the avocado smoothie for my kid and it was lumpy. It’s a smoothie. It shouldn’t be lumpy. We ordered couple of Che and it tasted old. I should have known it wasn’t very good when the person taking the order couldn’t speak Vietnamese and the place was empty and quiet.
Not sure if the original owner left but the front counter service was nice. However, the drinks were so blend. I ordered the #6 for myself and brother and it didnt taste right. They left out the coconut in the drinks. All the other Bambūs Ive been to are very consistent. If you own a franchise, to stay competitive, try leveraging the other franchises and know what you are selling.
Love this place. My wife often asks me to take her there a few times a month. Great desserts!
I hopped off the 38 stop at 25th and Geary craving for some hot chocolate. Luckily, this place is right in front of the stop. I ordered a small hot chocolate with a shot of hazelnut and it was delicious. Service is a bit slow, but there were only 2 people working so I understand. I found them to be very courteous. This spot is popular with students. There are couches to hang out with friends, or to study. They also have a few snacks you get get, like the waffles (which Ive yet to try) if you need some sustenance.
Good fruity drinks
Great service great drinks
If you order drink relate with coconut milk, make sure it has no sour taste in your drink, if that happen, the coconut milk is not fresh, Also, make sure to keep track with all your points because the owner, the lady, can deletes your points then you never reach your free drink or take longer. Customer have to buy ten drinks in order to get one free, why can they get any one they want? This lady always keeps me an attitude when I reach #11 which is free drink . FYI lady if you dont like giving out free drinks, stop your stupid promotion. I can not wait for another competitor come next to your door. Lady, you refused my business, it is fine because I will not die from thirst. If your business is slow down sit there and cry because you still have to pay rent.
Nice drinks on hot city day. Busy not time to be even nice but worth a visit. V busy later in morning
Nice folks. Completely disorganized and slow because if it, despite not a busy time and THREE people in back making things. Ice was a hard packed snow ball for some reason. Probably wont bother coming back though nothing tasted off or spoiled like some of the reviewers have experienced.
This place makes me so happy, I can smell the pandan as I walk up the block. Southeast Asian deserts are my favorite and their che is sooo good cant go wrong! My favorite is the fruit addict one with all the fruits
Clean and organized! Staffs are attentive and informative. Prices are kept consistent with other cities despite being in SF.The place is big enough for group hangout, with a couch in the middle of the roomRecommended drinks: avocado smoothies, taro smoothies.Parking on the street is not too hard to find.
Hands down my favorite desserts in SF. I LOVE the #6 fruit addict no ice no sugar with red tapioca and durian, coconut pudding, and their amazingly chewy mochi waffles. The coconut milk and water are super fresh. Best place for refreshingly simple desserts and munchies.
Five stars for yummy desserts, but 3 for speed. They take a little while to serve them up. Passion in Love is my dessert of choice there now (with boba)
They have freshest ingredients here. I had the avocado coconut drink which was outstanding.
My favorite place for Asian desserts and boba teas. If you like trying new things/quaint food you definitely should go there! If not they have nice selection of teas, smoothies. #6 is my favorite since they have been opened. Also staff is very friendly!
This place was great! But is no longer in business 😔
The best avocado and coconut smoothie money can buy
This place is great! I love outer edge of SF closer to DC but I would rather drive here than the Other Bambu Desserts in DC ... I like how they make it here and always consistancy just right. Of course staff always friendly;-)
The strawberry smoothie was really good, as well as the mango and passion smoothies! Its pretty frozen, but it has the right amount of sweetness! The pandan jelly is delicious, as my friend has told me. Opens early til late and the wait isnt too long.
Super fresh fruit slush is and smoothies. Not powdered mixes. Takes a little time to make, but worth it. Customizable sweetness levels.
So many options. Great drinks and staff.
Good taste but too much Ive (instead of ingredients) compared to other Vietnamese dessert shops. Their coconut jelly (served in a coconut) is my favorite special item!
DRINKS:#1 = Interesting... refreshing.. like che but more drink form..Regular Milk Tea = Not badSERVICE:Order pickup at counter.ATMOSPHERE:pretty nice, casual, i like it.
Fast service and above average Vietnamese style tea drinks. There is a lot of variety and they are generous with topics. We used Square to order and the drink was ready before we arrived!
Best combo: a hazelnut mocha (only coconut milk) + waffle! :)
My go to place for boba and smoothies. Always refreshing and always high quality. Worth the price and wait. Get anything with coconut in it and its a guaranteed hit.
This is the place for really good Vietnamese desserts! Bambu special #1 is my favorite, just the right amount of sweetness. I heard its not really good for milk tea.
The best for deserts and boba. The lychee - lychee jelly the best
Love the #3 dessert with red and white beans, coconut milk, taro and pandan. So good!
Great place for bubble tea reccomend guava flavor
Quick service and tasty Vietnamese dessert-type drinks! A tad on the pricey side, but what isnt expensive in SF. Parking can be a bit of a pain, but if you get lucky, there are parking spots right outside!
Nice place.i really liked the hot chocolat. They have a good selection of coffee and tea.
The friendly staff. I love the coconut wallfo
Good service as usual but owner from China now !
Great spot for post dinner sweet cravings! I always get a che to-go
One of my favorite Vietnamese dessert places. The people here are nice and accommodating.
Nice People, and Cåring No Doubt about it 55.2019
Great desert drink based on fresh and healthy coconut milk. My favorite is #9 which is full of jelly and beans.
Love the traditional drinks with a modern twist. The coconut milk is unbelieveable- not sweet and made daily they tell me. I always get mine with half the sugar and extra pandan.
Good drinks, I usually buy the avocado that’s the best
This is probably the best boba place in the city, and trust me, Ive been to almost all of them.
Great smoothies! The limeberry is exactly what I wanted! Super taste
Love their fruit smoothies while Im watching tv!
This place is very good, their drinks are really sweet and good, their not very sweet or have no flavor at all theyre better than quicklys in my opinion and you dont have to wait in line to long to order what you want.
As long as youre going to munch tapioca balls, you might as well do it at bambu. they use fresh ingredients. recommend #6 and #10. staff is really nice and its a nice respite from the richmond fog. take a look next time youre in the neighborhood recommend it. kind of a healthier alternative to the other boba places in the city.
Youll find a large variety of drinks here with various types of filling. These are considered dessert drinks rolled into one, and are typically what you may see in a Vietnamese restaurant (think 3-color drinks). This place has a lot better options though, and they have a lot of variations such as Pandan and Taro. Youll also find a large variety of coffees there. If youre looking for food though, youll be disappointed. They only have one coconut pandan waffle (which was delicious), but I was hoping they had some additional specialty food.It was not packed when I went, there is a sofa a a few smaller tables for 2. Definitely a try if you love having Vietnamese dessert drinks.
I visited this place several times because my friend really likes it. Personally, though, Im not so fond of it. It serves vietnamese style desserts, but the taste is not nearly as good as the ones served in the restaurant. On top of each dessert is a one-cup size scoop of crushed ice, which would be pleasing in a hot summer but unnecessarily big for San Franciscos weather. Tried the avocado smoothie. Uuh, it was horrible!! It was too thick and too sugary. If there is anything I would order, it would be just the $2 pandan waffle--tastes good and not too big.
Nice Vietnam dessert plz . Quality not bad, clean plz.
This place isnt your typical tapioca place like Teaway or Purple Kow. Its drinks may include basil seeds and designs look like art. I got the Green Jelly Slushie without coconut milk. It tasted sweet initially but blended in the ice on the top and it was great!
Coconut made boba is sooooo good.
Fast service. Awesome desserts and smoothies.
I love this place. Not to miss if you love Asian desserts!
Great drinks. Pretty filling
Great place for your Vietnamese dessert sugar fix.
This is one of my favorite dessert places in the city! The drinks are sweet, but not overly sweet. The boba is chewy, but not hard. And the staff is super nice. You will definitely find something you like here, the menu is massive (although I usually order the same thing everytime, Taro + Coconut smoothie with boba, because its amazing). And the drinks are customizable, my girlfriend always adds stuff to her Che (like lychee and jackfruit chunks).
Vietnamese drinks and desserts! If you like coconut milk…then you will like Bambu. Had the Chè 3 màu - Red bean, white bean, green/mung bean, taro, pandan jelly, Vietnamese coffee, and Chè thập cẩm (combination) - Red bean, white bean, green/mung bean, taro, pandan jelly, pearl, combo jelly. Not sure I know everything in the description, but the drinks are tasty! There’s a lot going on with these drinks and the mixture may not be for everyone… but you’ll never know until you try! Oh warning - the Vietnamese coffee is very very strong!
If you thought Vietnamese dessert, che, consisted of just three colors, you havent tried Bambu! It has opened my mind to the world of vietnamese desserts. They have over a dozen different kinds of che to try. They pack so much into the cups that you have to watch out that it might overflow! There is an opening at the top for the straws and spoons, so if they treat you extra special and pack it in, you gotta sneak attach it from the top of the lid until you get to the rim of the cup. They have a lot of seating areas for you and your friends to come, relax, and enjoy some che. They are really chill and want you to hang out at their place because they have a few couches for you to relax on while eating your dessert. They also started this super awesome Happy Hour special! Who knew that dessert places like this does that!!!! They got a buy 3 get one free special from 6pm to 8pm! So grab 3 other friends and head over to Bambu!
Che is the term for vietnamese desserts. Before BAMBU, che desserts were only available at Vietnamese restaurants. Now, BAMBU has made che dessert drinks available for on the go. BAMBU definitely infuses vietnamese traditions into its drink forms. When I drink the che dessert drinks, it reminds me of my childhood memories of going to San Jose Vietnamese shops and ordering the three color dessert drink (che ba mau).Although the drinks do not follow exactly how traditional drinks are paired, BAMBU still offers tasty che dessert drinks with customizations available.
This is a vietnamese dessert place. They have a huge variety of bean drinks, jelly and other vietnamese treats. They mostly serve vietnamese cuisine, but they also have other more common desserts. Its totally bambu!
Very good drinks
Best place for tapioca/boba there is!
My go to place for fun drink.
Awesome tea
Very tasty, I want to come back
A bubble tea place that didnt have bubbles for over an hour. A little confused about that. 75% sugar was about the same as my wifes 50% sugar, but the tea was solid
Nice place, nice view.
Friendly service.
DONT GET ANY MILK TEA DRINKS!!!! Only get the desserts. Im guessing the teas are healthy; bitter and sour at the end. Made me and my friends want to barf. yuck. Get the desserts, i was told to get number 1-4
Variety of desert, yummy pandan waffle
Perfect on a hit day, refreshing and Delicious!
Nice thai & Malaysia fruit drink
Good Vietnamese dessert drinks.
Small place but quick service
Best Vietnamese dessert!
I like this authentic desert place. Feels like going to southeast Asia again.
Pretty good drink and choices
#10 drink is the best!
Nice personnel
Perfect! Love this place!
Too expensive for just a drink
