Yes it is open 24 hours. I ordered two coffees and two extra gigantic donuts. The coffee was freshly brewed and the customer service was warm and friendly, the owner sat across the bar from us enjoying his own cup of coffee and the server behind the counter was his wife. The donuts seemed on the not so fresh side and I would not recommend ordering donuts unless they are freshly fried and or delivered Im not sure if they make them in house but you should ask before ordering. I do recommend the coffee and the company of this historical donut shop.
This is a Family own the Best Breakfast spot on town been going here over 30 years!
Such an interesting place Im sure its walls could tell some stories.
I got depressed being there...made me feel old. I think the best thing about this pace is that its open 24 hours. The food was ok. The juke boxes at each table did not work and the anachronistic feel of them did not work for me. Other people may find this place to be charming., Like its a time capsule of how diners were in the 1950s but as I said earlier, for me it was a downer :(
An absolutely dingy dive...I love it! Been going here for 40 years.
This place is so out dated. They had 3 options that I think were 3 days old. I will not recommend this place.
Its an iconic placeAND 24 HRS. .I AM GOING TO SHOOT A MOVIE SCENES...THERE
The meals are tasty and the portions are generous. Some items are kinda pricey. But they are always open and the service is good. Give them a try!
A real slice of life. Just dont take it seriously and youll enjoy going back in time. Only place Ive ever seen thats both a breakfast diner and a bar, would be a cool spot if it was in a better location.
This Legacy Cafe is a 24-hour operation has never locked its doors since 1967. Greek restaurant tours have a special energy and its all over the place. Its a family unit and they work as hard as anybody else aint ever seen.
Loved this place from the first taste. I had a brother come into town and he asked me to go back here. They have a lot of positive reviews for a reason.
For whatever reasons, I need something to eat. Whether breakfast, lunch or very late dinners, I can count on the Silver Crest eatery to be open. Food is good. Amble parking and cordial staff 24/7. Nice.May not look exquisite on outside. But inside is what counts!
Excellent spot to spend time alone or talk business. Service is consistently great. Bring your appetite because portions are filling.
Its ok its an old place . Same juke box with the original vinyls so you know its an old place. Bartenders are cool but pretty old but cool
Wow! Its like stepping back into the 1940s-1950s. Bizarrely beautiful and you get the experience you didnt think was possible. Enjoy!
Old style diner. With great people working
This is the best damn establishment West of the Mississippi! Go there, eat the donuts, and drink the ouzo. Silvercrest allows patrons to travel back to a simpler, more funky time. Say hi to George and the rest is eazzzzzyyyy, babay!
Quiet after 1:00 am. Good food and coffee. Clean. A bit pricey for diner fare.
This place is my absolute favorite diner and bar in the city. Open twenty fow, yo.
This is a great neighborhood spot. Have a shot of Ouzo with George the owner/bartender, drink a bud or coors banquet and hear about how the neighborhood was back in the 70s and 80s. Pool still only costs 25 cents a game, the jukebox still has 80s/early 90s hits and some Greek traditionals and the remodel from 71 is still in pretty good shape. I always take home a few donuts for everyone in the morning after getting my fill at the bar. One of these days were going to go have breakfast.
Its a funny place. They have a row of vintage pinball machines. They only take cash. The food is actually pretty good.
Sure, SC menu prices have gone up serving the same dishes forever with their vintage decor thats a little rough around the edges, needs some patching up. Its been like this for so long, decades even, and we like it exactly for these reasons...and thats what makes SC our regular breakfast spot for years. Family owned. Yes, you can still find old school diners across San Francisco dishing up plates piled high with bacon, eggs & pancakes and serving bottomless cups of coffee; we love all aspects of local flavor SC gives us. This place has unbelievably huge donuts. Old jukeboxes on the counters and booths, and old pinball machines, which all need a tune up. Same regulars as far back as we remember. We wouldnt have it any other way.
Old, yes, but grungy. Owner was grumpy. Menu said soda and iced tea, but she said they dont serve those. Pulled out burgers from the freezer, nuked them, then threw them on the flattop. We were shocked. Oh, and btw....that burger with fries was $13.95. We left.
Greek owner Chorche working at bar host you with a shot of ouzo. Time has stopped in this local spot. Embrace it while it lasts. 👌
Beat up and pricey, but somehow not bad. I wanted to give this another star but theres a charge for refills, which Ive never actually seen in a diner.
WE NEVER CLOSE neon out front says it all. clean yummy greasy spoon food. super nice folks
Burger was delicious.
George is Ole School, as Ole School can get. Make sure u have a chot of USSO.
Pricy for basic food. Other places give fruits on your French toast. I got 3 tables spoons of butter lol
Donuts: awesomeFrench toast: awfulAmbience: probably hasnt changed in 60 years.
Cash only, no “donuts”, cinnamon twist and other large sized pastries that appeared to have sat through yesterday and the night (my visit is at 3:00 AM) $3.20 for a cup of coffee, $1.55 posted for a refill! Ridiculous. I could’ve gotten a cup from McDonalds right across the street for 1.00 & a Hash Brown to boot for less than $3.20, and a FREE refill. No wonder the place is empty, even at 3:00 AM
Mood here reminds me of San Diegos scene.
They really, never, ever close!
It was just ok, kind of expensive and only cash
They dont even sell donuts
Walked into a time warp, defiantly going to be a spot I always make time to stop by when in the area, the sign on the front says “we never close” and best believe they hold that to there standard
Been going there for 40 yrs and still due.
Biggest Donuts in the Whole Wide World
Love this place
Same owners for almost 50 Years!!!
Overpriced
Ouzo!!
