I’ve never walked into a bike shop and been met with such good service at such high quality by such decent people. Took my bike in for brake work and they got right onto it, charged an incredibly fair price and had the bike in better shape than it was brand new. Cannot recommend this place enough. Shop local!
The owner (Jeff) is very helpful and friendly.
Ocean Cyclery is a fantastic bicycle shop whose owners employees know what they are doing and go out of their way to make sure you get your cycling needs and wants met. Great prices! I cannot recommend them enough! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL NEIGHBORHOOD BIKE SHOP!
The only problem is that they close relatively early other than that its a good bike spot
Back in 2012 I was an intern at a bike shop in SF. I remember the workers there was talking so much smack about Ocean Cyclery. 8 years later I came here for the first time to find out for myself. They have a very very bad attitude toward customers
Ive found Jeff to be very friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. There are many bikes shops in SF, and I choose this one as my LBS because they are good people. Ocean is a family owned and operated business in SF.The prices are reasonable, and the work is high quality. Ive bought multiple bikes from Jeff, and would be happy to buy another when the time comes. They also carry a nice selection of accessories including tools, lights, clothing, and more.
For the past few months I have been shopping around for my bike accessories and bike gear. After visiting many bike shops, I have chose Ocean Cyclery for their great service and great price. I always look around for better price, and always end up buying at Ocean Cyclery. Jeff and his team are always helpful, and what I like to most about this place, is there no pressure selling. It is all about getting the right thing for you. Guys keep up the good work!
Relatively incapable mechanics and very high prices. Basic repairs maximum.
Really dope place. The staff clearly know tons about bikes and are very interested in improving your bike as much as possible. Service was quick and they were super friendly, and they’ll order parts for you! If i could give 10 stars i would.
Poor customer service. They are not interested on providing service. Got to the shop and I guess they were too busy to even say hi....
Jeff and his crew are great at their trade. They not only do great maintenance work, but they also conduct business in an environmentally sustainable manner and are very friendly. Their rates are the cheapest Ive seen in San Francisco but without sacrificing the quality of work.
Jeff maintains my Triathlon bike and city folding bikes. I also bought my daughters first bike from him. This is a great, honest, down to earth family owned business.
Houston behind the counter was friendly, and upbeat. Unfortunately the mechanic came across as jaded and berating. Needed a wheelset trued and got an eyeballed guess that they are fine and instead my frame must be bent or the wheels are out of dish. After checking the dish and realizing the rim was indeed centered to the hub, the blame was placed on my frame. Didn’t even place the wheels in a truing stand. Had to uber to another shop since over the phone I was asked to bring just the wheels and not the entire bike. Other shop put the wheels in a stand and right away could see they needed adjustment. Really wanted to like this place.
One of the best and oldest neighborhood bike shops. Family run; excellent repair work and sales.
Talked to Houston over the phone, he said they could do the work on my bike. We took the bike in, Joe was dismissive and told us he wouldnt take the project on. Waste of time
Jeff cares about bikes and his customers. You simply couldnt place your trust with a better person. He knows his stuff. I have had Jeff work on my Bikes for as long as his doors have been open.
Jeff is the man. Ive been going to Jeff for all of my bike needs since first opening his doors almost 20 years ago. Great person, friendly staff, even got my sons first bike from him.
Waste of time. Ill be Shopping With Intention elsewhere.
The people at Ocean Cyclery were very friendly. While talking with them at the shop, I didnt feel pressured on buying anything or making any decision. They really wanted me to feel right and have a right bike. After buying my bike there, their customer service was excellent. I made a mistake that striped some threads in a crank arm. The bike technician did his best to save the crank instead of having me to buy a replacement part. They even helped me to order a part from a pedal manufacturer to replace a defective part.I am a happy customer!
Nice knowledgeable people.
Great quick service! Was the same price as other bike shops in SF.
I dont go here regularly, but when I have visited, the staff has been helpful and tried to get me what I needed for my bike projects without any attitude.
Ocean Cyclery helped me fix a mistake that Avenue Cyclery made. Avenue Cyclery put my safety in jeopardy when they did either a poor job or a lazy job on my bike. Im lucky the mistake made me crash on flat ground without moving vehicles near me.
Very poor experience.Called first to ask for a quote for bike assembly $95. Take it in store, price goes up to $150. Asked where I purchased the bike, said Amazon. Gets berated by how I am killing small business and that I am supporting a monopoly. Dude I just want my bike serviced, not to listen to you preach how I am killing the planet with my online purchases.Oh yeah, and they sell Stans tire sealant for $52 when you can buy it online for $17.
These guys were super friendly, great value, helpful and did a really good job.
Super friendly folks - I had constant clicking coming from the bottom of my bike, and the staff diagnosed it & didnt charge me anything. we qq
Jeff is very friendly and helpful. A good source for family bikes for carrying kids.
My bike was not shifting smoothly and then it got stuck in one gear while out on a ride. I was near Ocean Cyclery ( thanks Google) and went there. They had the part I needed in stock and installed it while I had lunch across the street. I thought it would cost more than he charged me and he tightened up my handlebars for free. I think the guys name is Jeff ( sorry im bad with names) . Hes very cool and so is his little shop. I am going back tommorow with my son to pick out a new BMX bike for his birthday. They have a sick looking old school redline bike that might be his size? And theres a new BMX track at McLaren park !Two thumbs up!
Good prices on accessories and Jeffs a great bike mechanic.
Awesome people. Keep me on the road.
Horrible customer service, avoid this place
There is at least on rude person. I called to make a change in my quote and he replied I am not interested.
Very friendly and pricey
Just rode home from a tune up and the bike felt great! Thank you Jeff!
Expensive and bad service
Ocean cyclery has friendly staff that knows their stuff !
$9 for a tube??? Ya gotta be kidding me.
Friendly staff.
