Very easy pick up and drop off. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Easy ride to get to the bridge with kids ages 9, 12, 14. Great lunch in Sausalito and easy ferry ride back- would definitely recommend this company. Bikes were in excellent condition.

Easy reservations, great location for biking across the Golden Gate Bridge. Bikes were in great shape and performed beautifully. We crossed the Golden Gate, lunched in Sausalito, biked back, and had a great time.

The overall experience is very great. The staff is very kind and friendly. And the renting process is very smoothy. Just the time needs to return the bike is 16:45, I was there around 16:55. The staff is still nice to take back the bike without any hassle, thanks a lot.Just its better to match the returning time with ferry schedule. Like the most convenient one today(Sunday) from Sausalito to Pier 41 is 15:50-16:20. Then its impossible to get the bike store by 16:45. Not just the distance, but also its rush hour, so many traffic. Anyway, you guys are doing so great already. Thank a lot and cheers~~~

We came here thinking they were a different company that the had a very similar name except with the in the front. That company was seemingly cheaper since they had hourly rentals but this place does not. They charge $36 for the day for a regular bike. Other place was half that but for 2 hours. Depending on your time, this would be the better deal if youre out for longer. We used this since we were already there and had parked. The young man who helped us was really nice and made sure the bike was all set for us to go. Adjusting seat as needed and providing route options. Overall it was a super fun experience and again depending on your timing not a bad price. The ride itself was killer on the legs though, I think we ended up doing 8 miles. Those hills will give you a major workout.

We did a Bike and Brews tour on Valentines Day on regular pedal bikes. Our tour guide Jeremiah was excellent at leading us around as well as providing useful and historic facts. The restaurant at the end was also very good. I would give 5 stars but check in was a little confusing because even though I had booked online, it appeared they did not have our information and payment info but it was all sorted out. Overall, I would highly recommend.

Great Day in SFI rented bikes from this business for my family to ride across the Golden Gate and have lunch in Sausalito on Fathers Day. Reserving and paying online was smooth and easy.From the minute I reserved online to the point of returning at the end of the day were excellent. I would highly recommend renting bikes from Golden gate Bike Rentals.

Awful customer service. We rented our bikes here because we were assured there was a drop off option in Sausalito. When we got there, we were told by the owner that they don’t offer that service anymore. We told him, then we would have to cancel out reservations because we had plans to stay in Sausalito. He rudely refused to refund us. The only reason we rented with them was because the Sausalito drop off option. Rude and disrespectful.

Customer service is amazing!! We showed up for our booking with 4 kiddos ranging in age from 1-9Years old. The team (Richard and Colleague) took the time to make sure each kid’s seat was the proper height for maximum comfort. They also ensured we knew how to put a toddler in our child bike seats and advised us how best to get on and off the bike. The map they provided was easy to read and incredibly helpful. They are well-located, incredibly friendly and they just had a littleBaby.

On our last day in San Francisco we decided to rent E-bikes and cruise the GGB and Sausalito. So glad we paid the extra for the E-bikes. From shop to restaurants in Sausalito its about 6.2 miles one way. Making it 12.4 is RT. It rides like a regular bike and when you need a boost its a simple push of a button. Battery had long life, great quality bikes.

Bikes are ok, but the tandems are terrible. We rented two tandems for our family of four, two adults and two children. The first tandem broke after 10 minutes, after it was already making a strange sound when we took it from the shop. They quickly brought us two fine bicycles to replace it, which was nice, and even waived the price of that tandem. So, we were all happy, but then the day after the other tandem had trouble and the chain came out twice, because chainring was not perfectly flat, again due to lack of proper maintenance. I finally arrived with a bloody hand, due to me fixing the bicycle quickly and they did not give me even a cloth to clean my hands. In conclusions, bikes are ok, but stay away from the tandems. Not a nice experience.

The online order process was easy, I wish the stone clerk give us the instruction to get on the Golden Gate Bridge west side, we tried 2 times before we found the way. We biked to Sausalito, we were worry how to get back with the big hill of Sausalito, We were lucky to paid $7.60 ride the public bus #30 (only 2 Bikes allowed) back to the store.

Came by to rent a couple of bikes, the service was great, lily was very helpful. Location wise is actually close to the bike path that will take you staright to the golden gate bridge. Highly recommended !

I rented my bike here because they said you could bike one way and take the Sausalito ferry back. However, I only realized when I got there that you’re responsible for your own transportation on the ferry and still have to return it at the original location. So just a heads up. I had a mixed experience with the staff. There was one lady who was very nice and another who brought my bike out and did not say much or adjust any of my gear. She didn’t even point me in the right direction until I asked someone where I should go to head toward the Golden Gate bridge. My bike was the city hybrid bike which they recommend for the bridge, but honestly if you’re going to bike further past the bridge it’s probably more worth it to get the next bike up. I say this because the gears were limited on the city bike and I spent a lot of time walking it uphill. The bike didn’t seem well-maintained. My helmet also didn’t smell very sanitary or cleaned. Most importantly, I recall that the rental is $10 per hour for the city hybrid bike for a minimum of 2 hours so I should have been charged $20 by default. However, when I checked my emailed receipt I was already charged $40 for the day ($36 + $4 equipment protection fee). I wanted to go back and ask why they assumed I was going to be gone for more than 2 hours, but now I wonder if it was because I mentioned I was going to Sausalito. Either way, I felt that they could have confirmed with me regarding the length of my rental.

We showed up for our appointment, and our bicycles were ready for us. The staff were prompt and very cheerful and helpful, and the quality of the bikes were outstanding. It made me wish it were my bike. I would recommend this business to my family and friends, and if I were to ever come back and need a bike, Id go back to this shop.

We came here last August, and it was very convenient because our motel was right across the road! The bike ride from here to the bridge is much shorter than a lot of places, so if you have not ridden a bike in a while, I recommend this place! Prices are reasonable, and staff is nice!

Rented bikes to cross the Golden Gate Bridge. Super formerly and hard working. Had an issue with my bike on the bridge and they had someone ride a bike all the way out to me to switch. The guy walked my broken bike back! Didn’t rip me off with fees or anything. Will be back for sure.

Be aware that there is not enough information about how their schedule works. I made a reservation in the afternoon to bike to Sausolito and come back with a ferry (as marketed on their website with no further details), when I got to the store, they told me I needed to make a reservation before noon for that plan, and they charged a cancellation fee. Im not sure why on earth they let you make a reservation if thats the case!!!

This is probably my favorite bike rental place in San Francisco! I decided to bike across the Golden Gate Bridge with my friends and had a really enjoyable experience. The location of this place is pretty close to the bridge and provides a lot of nice scenery along the way! The bikes were also really well maintained and the bells of the bikes were nice and loud! Ive never been so excited to ring bells before! Overall, I had an amazing experience biking around the city. Would recommend to anyone that wants to bike around the city! A++ customer service! A++ fun experience! A++ on location!P.S. the Mexican soda in the fridge are bomb

RENT FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE.They close at 6:45 which is very soon. If they are are closed, you can bring the bike on the next day which you have to pay for 24 hours rent.They charge hourly $9 or charge $36 for 24 hours.We rented 3 bikes 11:30 AM and by the time I got back, they were closed. The next day, we returned the bikes but i was about an hour late (12:30) and they charged us $9 extra per bike. It is so frustrating that there was no emphasize on how accurately they are going to consider each hour. Especially if you reserve online, you can pick a range of time for your pick up. They were also rude and mad and were only saying that it is $27!IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE AND THEY ARE RUDE.BAD SERVICE!!

This review is focused on the customer service or lack there of when I tried to make a reservation over the phone at 1:56pm PST on 4/7/17.I called and spoke to a man about the discrepancy in the advertised 15% off marketing that I saw on their website for tandem bike rental. His response was negative and he continued to get defensive when I pointed out that the discount was only taking 10% off.He said, the website says only 10% off on tandems, you dont understand the website The website doesnt actually say anything about tandems specifically, but it does only take 10% off the $60 price and allows you to pay $54. This man continued to double down on his terrible attitude when I mentioned that this tactic is misleading and most consumers wont realize that they arent getting the deal that you are in fact advertising.My extended family and I were planning on renting a dozen dikes to ride over the bridge because of their proximity to Golden Gate, but we are steering clear after this experience.If proximity matters to you, I actually found out from a friend that Sports Basement Presidio rents bikes and they are even closer!Update 4/10/2017 11:23amResponse to owners response: I wanted a chance to respond to what the the owner said so I have edited the last portion of my review.I dont agree with most of what the owner claims and specifically this line.You were unsatisfied with our prices, and also threatened us to leave us a bad review.I actually was completely satisfied with the prices, they are actually a little better for a tandem bike than Sports Basement, where my family and I decided to rent from instead. My concern was that I felt their advertising tactic was misleading and predatory.I also never threatened to leave a bad review, I just stated I would leave a bad review after getting such bad customer service.P.S. I also noticed that the language on their advertising changed to up to 15% after this review. Still somewhat misleading, but better than before. The screenshots show the discrepancy.

Paid the price for 2 hibrids, got only a hibrid and a regular bike (which was cheaper, btw). Maybe it was a mistake. The regular bike had some issues in changing gears. Overall both bikes were enough to pedal around the city. Staff was nice. The location was favorable for the hotels situated on / near Lombard street. In a full day you should have enough time to ride it from Bay Bridge area to Golden Gate Bridge. Dont be afraid of the lengths. Just be aware of the drivers or parked cars, you never know when they open a door in front of you (happened to me twice, luckily I was going slow). Why are the chinese so oblivious, ignorant, ill mannered and rude there?! Gee...

If you plan to ferry back, itd be better to rent near fishermans wharf or pier 39. This shop is near Golden gate bridge but not so easy to get ifrom ferry building nor wharf. I spent about 30 -40 mins to find this shop after ferry off. Of course to find here you need to ride uphill many times.The bicycle is very heavy. Cant ride fast...And I passed only 10mins but they charged whole an hour price 9$.

Bikes are of a verry poor quality. The gears broke down twice and the brakes locked so we couldn’t continue our ride. This is related to the quality of the gears (cheapest Shimano option that exists).
