Called and they said they couldnt install Firestone Ride-Rite airbag kit to help level my truck when towing a trailer. Usually these take 1.5 hours by a DIYers, and they told me they require a custom truck shop to do this type of work. If this type of job is out of their wheelhouse, I wouldnt trust them to even change my oil.

Hands down best shop in town. Absolute champions, job is always done right, on time, no BS. I’ve taken my Silverado, duramax and my 4Runner and I’m never disappointed. Been ripped off by plenty of shops in this town, never by them. You’ll recommend mom to these guys. Thanks for the solid work boys

These guys are amazing! I had trouble with my tow vehicle while on the first day of our vacation. My Ford Excursion lost power coming through the mountains. After having another shop look at it, and unable to find the cause, I was referred to Independent Specialist of Reno. I spoke to Chris on the phone and he was very helpful and offered to help. I should mention that I called many shops prior to finding Chris and all were booked for services til July! I showed up at Independent Specialist and was met by Chris and Mike. These guys were 1st class professionals. I told them that the other shop was unable to diagnose the issue. Mike hooked up my SUV to his computer and found possible causes. He immediately began problem solving and was honest about what the problem could be with different scenarios. He immediately went to work and soon found the issue. He even gave me suggestions on how to care for my vehicle in the future. These guys are the best! They saved our vacation and had us on way within hours. Had they not helped us, we would be stranded in Reno with no vehicle. I cant tell you how other shos turned us away.This is a family operation and that is how we were treated. I cant say enough great things about these guys. I would definitely recommend using these guys.

We regularly use this shop for our 2007 Dodge 3500 diesel. Steve and his crew are fair, trustworthy, efficient and amazing to deal with. This is probably the 4th diesel truck we have that they have serviced. Now we are on our 5th truck with them. A 2011 Dodge 3500. Happy to have this team working on our vehicles. They may need a bigger shop soon.

These mechanics are the most reliable and trustworthy group of people. They always tell the truth on if components actually need to be replaced instead of trying to increase the bill on still functional parts. They are extremely knowledgeable and I have never had an issue that they couldnt fix from replacing motor components, suspension work, standard maintenance, or diagnosis.

These guys are amazing. They do great work and offer way better prices than any dealership, with the same quality of service if not better. Locally owned and operated. Steve is an amazing person with a very great level of patience in uncanny. They replaced my right rear hub on my 2004 Subaru Sti and put all OE parts in my car. That is super important to me. We love these guys, we have 5 vehicles in the company and they take care of us. Just this week we had a vehicle go down and Independent jumped on it to get us rolling again as quickly as possible. Chris and Steve are good people, cant say enough about their service.

I enjoyed the professionalism and honesty here. I never felt pressured or talked over regarding the service I was requesting. They carry Castrol engine oils and that’s important to me to have in my truck. I will be coming back.
