I cannot say enough good things about this shop. My daughter attends URN and anytime she needs service on her vehicle, they are here to help at a drop of a dime. Super friendly and helpful for individuals who may not know a lot about cars. Love that they provide a report after the inspection with pictures and explanation on what they found.

Went in for squeaky brakes with an appointment. Waited over 4 hours for job to be completed. When I got into the car the brakes sounded just like they did before. Brought it back the next day and they had me drop off my car so they could work on it for another 5 hours. The brakes are still squeaking. I gave them 2 stars instead of one because each time the staff was willing to help it just seems like they are incompetent. My advice would be to ask to see the parts they are replacing so you know the work actually needs to be done. At the end of the day I got a refund and I will be going to a different garage for my work in the future

Edit - see original review below. A representative called me and got me in for another diagnostic (at no cost) at their Plumb Lane location where, apparently, their most experienced techs are. The tech there (another Josh) was super nice and helpful. Went above and beyond to offer advice on an unrelated problem as well. The vibration issue did end up being a busted motor mount. So, yeah, they missed it the first time around, but made it right. Cant complain.Original - Pretty disappointed. This shop was highly recommended by a friend so I brought my 2001 Rav4 (140k) in to diagnose a severe vibration that started out of nowhere. The tech drove it and agreed the car was vibrating a lot, so he checked the motor mounts and if it was misfiring. All looked good so he chalked it up to it being an old vehicle. Theres no way this vibration is normal and the fact that it started out of the blue is a real red flag.So basically it was $150 diagnostic fee to tell me my car is old. Really, theres nothing else to check?

An oil change at Reno Vulcanizing can take one hour and forty two minutes! Even though I had an appointment today the mechanic did not start servicing my car until 35 ( thirty five ) minutes AFTER my appointment time. So clearly, there is overbooking. Also, confusion about using synthetic blend and fully synthetic oil. Price for oil change today $132 dollars!!!Moreover, this is the only business that keeps finding nails in my tires. (There was no indication there was anything wrong with my tires until I brought the car in for an oil change there today. No dashboard warnings whatsoever and no flat tires. They charge $27 dollars per nail found. Stay away from Reno Vulcanizing!

Ive brought my car in to Reno Vulcanizing multiple times now to diagnose and fix a variety of suspension issues. They have been professional, friendly, and willing to take the time to correctly diagnose issues and fix them promptly.

I was quoted one thing on the phone for putting on wheels for my truck. They added as bunch of fees as soon as I got there. The price went from $120 to $170. Then they charged me for an alignment they didnt even do, then tried to upcharge me $3,500 for services I didnt need. This place is horrible. It shouldnt cost close to 4 grand to put on tires 😠

Great! I have been going to Reno Vulc for over 25 years and not once have they given me a reason to even think about going elsewhere! Courteous, professional, knowledgeable, a mainstay of the Truckee Meadows.

Ive been working with them for the past 2 years, and all of my routine and (unfortunately) unroutine check-ups have been wonderful. They are courteous and are always quoting great prices. In the case of my unroutine check-ups (i.e: car door lock is jammed & battery died), they are able to find the time to still provide me quality service and quote me the best prices they can!

I had a break booster put in my car. The employees were knowledgeable and friendly. They called to let me know wires were corroded and they recommended changing them, an additional $101. I appreciate knowing the problem and being able to fix it with the service rather than coming back in a year to replace it later.

Where do I start.4 days for oil change, oil leak, cabin filter change, snow tires. Delays because other customers work was scheduled ahead of me, despite the fact I had made an appointment in advance and left my car for the entire day. Today I picked up my car, having paid for all of the above, only to discover the snow tires were not installed. So I need to come back yet again. No proper scheduling or quality control. Very disappointing!

They just replaced my my thermostat, water pump, and the hoses. Ted in the office was very helpful through this stressful situation. They make the stress of repairing your car a little less stressful. We bring all of our household cars in!

Paid for $10 Auto Wash on my brand new car at a car wash owned by this business on Parr Blvd. Left side of auto wash did not wash off wax, and thick, waxy, residue remained all on the left side of my car as well as the hood and windows. Called the listed number immediately to complain and left message. Two days later, Reno Vulcanizing, whom I assume owns the Quick Wash, calls and Matt provides a 5 digit code to remedy the situation. Upon attempting the code several times, the provided code did not work. Wanting the residue removed, I paid another $7 for the basic wash (sans wax) to rid my vehicle of this residue. It did an okay job, but I had to manually clean the remaining wax residue. Immediately left a message with Matt at Reno Vulcanizing and did not receive a returned call.Poor business practice and terrible service in my opinion. I assume this is a reflection on Reno Vulcanizings practices also. Still awaiting that call, Matt....11/20/20: as I was not able to delete the review, I wanted to provide an update and upgrade in service level.Matt called and advised of a mis-step and remedied the solution both cordially and apologetically.I give praise to his humility and ownership of the situation, hence, an upgrade in ratings.Thank you, Matt.

Friendly staff and service. Much too high of a price mark up on parts for me though. I understand shops have to make a profit on parts and things aren’t going to cost what you can find for online. But some of the parts they wanted to replacing were going to be upwards of a 300% markup. No intention of going back.

Read review of poor customer service. We stopped at Plumb store who were helpful but could not squeeze us in and called store on 6th. We went there and were squeezed in. They discovered additional problem with wheel studs and took care of it and the other. They were more than helpful and one of the few places to take care of us as they were fixing a dealer mistake.

I have had one experience at Reno Vulcanizing. I went there because they are a Cooper Tire dealer and knew what I wanted for my truck. Their staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They took great time looking up and explaining tire specifications and the implications of what those tires had to offer. Their pricing was very competitive and the installation was very well done. This is a local, friendly and service oriented tire shop. I will not hesitate to shop with them again.

This place is great for tires and oil changes. Probably the best place to go in Reno for basic vehicle maintenance. They dont try to add-on maintenance services you dont need, which is great.I cant comment about their collision repair value because Ive never used them for such. (Note: another user on here posted a negative experience with collision repair).

This placevisxa tip off. Estimate of 850 said I needed calipers. I refused to have them do work on myvtruck. They parked my truck in rock lot behind shop. I wentvto pick it up n it looked like someone took a ratchet to the windshield right in the view of driver. They refused to compensate mevforcmy windshield. Next shop resurfaced rotors n replaced pads. No calipers needed.

I had an ignition coil fail on my way to work. They were very busy but still had it fixed the same morning. I have friends and family who also use Reno Vulcanizing and are happy with the service. Highly recommend.

In more than 60 years of driving and get cars repaired, I have never experienced the enthusiasm and expertise that I got at Reno Vulcanizing! They stayed late just to finish working on my car--to enable me to leave on time the next day.In addition, when there was a problem with the parts installed, they made arrangements to replace them at no cost to me--without questioning.I am tempted to make regular trips to Reno just so they can work on my car!

Have never had an issue with the service here untill today. Usually the service is friendly and fast (maybe because every other visit has been a high $$ repair or set of tires!!) Went in with a tire that was flat today, guy at the counter didnt want to know, we are fully booked today and can you leave it with us. Pumped up the tire, drove to Les Schwab and was fixed and out the door in 30 mins with no charge!

If this is the best shop in town, then thats really sad.On a Monday, I called from out of state to make an appointment with the N.Virginia location for Thursday morning. I knew what I needed done and told them, and I drove to Reno on Wednesday night specifically for that appointment. I dropped off my Explorer first thing on Thursday morning with Scott, told him Id also need an oil change, and was told Id be called with an estimate.When he gave me his estimate, it was much higher than other quotes Id previously gotten. However, considering my schedule and the fact that they already had the vehicle, I told him to go ahead. After not hearing from him the next day (Friday/Today), I called and asked them what the status was. Scott said they hadnt received the parts yet, and that he would call me back in a few minutes. After an hour or so, he called me back and notified me that the parts just got there.Im assuming that they were never ordered until I called.I asked him when I could pick up the vehicle, and he started to suggest that it wouldnt be until Monday, but then said that a tech offered to come in and finish it up. *Gee...thanks*They still have the vehicle, and itll supposedly be ready tomorrow (Saturday).All I can think is that they shelved my Explorer because its an 05, and not a new BMW (or maybe its because of my California tags). Thank God I called when I did, or they STILL might not have ordered the parts.Lets see if they remember the oil change.For a quoted $1350.00 for upper and lower control arm/ball joint replacement, 6 hours of recently estimated labor and 3 days without my vehicle (after I told them what I needed when making the appointment AND when dropping off the vehicle), my first visit will likely also be my last.Ill update this after I pick it up.***UPDATE***Well, I called them at noon, and was told that the tech had just finished up and was out test driving it after the alignment, because the steering was still off. He said it should be ready in about 30 min. I asked him if the oil change had been done and he said it wasnt - so give him an hour.When I showed up and got the final bill - it was for $1700.00For upper and lower control arms ONLY. When I looked at the breakdown, the parts alone were $1000.00 ($350 EACH for the upper with the ball joint, and $150.00 each for the lower). I could not believe what I was looking at.They told me that the delay (2.5 days) was due to their supplier repeatedly sending them the wrong parts. I didnt care. $1350 was too high of an estimate, but I went with it. Then, to have the final bill at $1700.00 was unbelievable. They said they comped the oil change (which was good), but $1700.00 for upper and lower control arms was still ridiculous. I asked him if they were made of titanium.When I got the initial estimate of $1350, Scott said it was high because the parts were upgrades. I asked him how much the standard control arms would be. After a few seconds he said the standards would be more expensive than the upgrades.Complete B.S.Thats like when you get lured in to a business by a discount, and when you go to apply that discount, they say, the discount is already included. I told this to Matt as I questioned the cost today. There was another guy there as well. Im not sure if he was the owner or what, but I cant remember his name. Anyhow, he did show some concern that I wasnt called back once Scott got a better idea of the cost. Whatever...it didnt change things.In the end, Matt knocked $100 off the total, bringing it to $1608.00 for upper/lower control arms, an oil change, and being without a vehicle for 2.5 days of my 4 day weekend (and missed my dogs vet appt).For the record, everyone I spoke with was very polite, but the price and repeated inconveniences were horrible. Forgot to mention that I missed my dogs vet appointment yesterday because I had no way to get her there.Thanks again, yall.

Had no better than a fair experience:Several months ago I had my ride in for an evaluation of a Check Engine Light that was persistent. I called the shop, they said it would be no problem so I took it in. They kept it overnight, and the next day they told me that the problem was beyond their capabilities, and I had to go to the dealership. Luckily they were nice about this, and my bill was a total of 0$ (sweet!).Fast forward to just this week. I brought in the Jeep for another CEL. The CEL was one I was already aware of, and one that Reno Vulcanizing had found before (didnt deal with it at that time). I had already scanned it, and done the usual steps to fix the issue. When I reported this, the work writer didnt seem to be listening to my concerns. Again they kept the Jeep all day (despite having an 0800 appointment). When I picked it up, they informed me that they found the CEL was on (no surprise) and that they cleared it. Otherwise, they did not take any steps to fix the problem as Its just going to be too hard to find. This cost me a total of 106$. Not sure why I got the runaround this time, but next time Ill be going straight to the dealership. Jeep of Reno only changes 110$ for a CEL diagnostic.
