I crashed my bike across the street in front of their shop and they stopped what they were doing on a car to rush over, run across the street and check if I was ok. They asked questions to make sure I didn’t have a concussion, made sure I had no broken bones, and when they noticed my bike chain had fallen off, they put it back so that my hurt hands wouldn’t have to deal with it. I have no idea if the service they offer in relation to cars is good, but I do know that they are nice people and will take care of you. Would definitely go there if i owned a car.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could.They were trying to take advantage of us.My mini was having obvious issues and I took it here to have them check it out and give us a quote. I suspected a leak in the AC, based on a bad smell when the AC was on.I explained the symptoms and left the car with them. A few hours later they gave me a quote of $2000. The quote was full of random services and fees that were not necessary. Everything from brakes to a new battery…? The labor fees alone were RIDICULOUS. The fees for the various parts were also out of this world.WORST OF ALL, they did not diagnose the actual issue. They were just trying to upsale us and replace all kinds of things that didn’t need replacing.We knew immediately that we were being taken advantage of so I went to pick up the car. At that point the guy at the front desk said there would be a $140 fee for the service. This fee was not disclosed when I made the appointment, and it was not disclosed when I handed him my keys. These people were trying to take advantage of us.We took the car somewhere else, got a free diagnosis and a reasonable quote.I would not recommend Independent Import!

Called in mid-day on a Tuesday to talk about the problem on my car before driving 30 minutes to their shop. Left a detailed message on their answering service as instructed and waited throughout the day - no response.Drove in well before closing time to see if they could take a quick look at my oil leak on my BMW. The man at the counter shook his head and told me he would not look at the engine and could not look at it for at least 10 days.You have one job - to make the customer feel welcome and feel trust. You failed!

Best Auto Shop Ive ever been to. When you first get there and meet the mechanic youll be like WOW! He is such a nice guy! I hope hes as good a mechanic as he is personable! and the answer is absolutely YES. His prices are reasonable for sure, and he knows a ton about cars, especially BMWs (which can leave some mechanics a little out of their element, but not this guy.) Hell get the job done right, and hell do it in such a timely manner. He also takes the initiative to go above and beyond by making sure the other important parts of the car are working well and there arent other issues besides what he is in there to fix. If he finds other issues he makes sure to let you know what they are and how serious they are and what it may cost to fix them. After I took my car there he wrote me a personalized thank you card and sent it in the mail. Just outstanding quality service. 10/10 DEFINITELY RECOMMEND, especially for any BMW drivers. Hes got my business for any future car issues, for sure.

I got a flat tire after work and this gentleman named Cameron pulled over and helped put a spare on. He recognized that the spare didn’t have much air in it so he took it to his shop, filled it with air, and brought it back all within 5 minutes! He didn’t charge me a thing and was so polite and happy to help! 10 out of 10 service! Thank you!

This place is awesome. I’ve taken my car there twice and everyone I talked to was always super nice and knowledgeable. They were really fast too and I got my car back in 1-2 days both times. Plus they have a couple really cute dogs so that’s fun. I’ll definitely go back the next time my stupid Mini Cooper breaks down.

I just dont trust this place. I feel like they take advantage of people. They overcharge and dont actually fix things. I took my car there and they literally charged almost A THOUSAND dollars, and I drove my car away and it broke shortly afterward. I took it to another place recommended by a friend and they charged only $42 and it was actually fixed! A family member has taken their car there repeatedly and they always charge a minimum of HUNDREDS of dollars, say its all good and then the car breaks a week later. One time, they even admitted that something broke because they had fixed the previous repair poorly, but they still charged HUNDREDS of dollars. They should have fixed it for free. I would recommend to anyone I know that they go anywhere else first. I would never wish for any owners to go out of business, but I do wish they would treat people fairly and honestly. They are very nice to talk to, but I JUST DONT TRUST THEM. If you value your car and your money, stay away from this place.

I have been a regular customer at this shop for years. I have had my car in a dozen times or so. They do quality work and they guarantee their work. However, if you are looking to save money over dealership prices, this may not be the place for you.Plugging the code reading computer in for a diagnosis will cost you $100 at this shop. A recent service I had done was $680 at independent import. The dealer quoted me $673 for the same job (I called after I got the bill since the price seemed high). On other jobs, they have been lower than dealer prices, but not by much.So, if the dealer is closer to your home and you like free cookies, shuttle service, posing, and a pedicure (or whatever they do at BMW dealers these days), go to the dealer. If independent is closer, go there and pet their dog. But dont expect to save a bunch of money!

They were very friendly and hard working to find out what was wrong with my convertible top and get it fixed. They went above and beyond what any other auto shop would have done to research and fix the problems that I had. Their service has always been prompt, thorough and honestly the best that I have ever had from an auto repair shop. I would highly recommend them to anyone that has an import that wants the best service out there for the best price.

Thayne and Matt are two honest men you can trust. I took my Subaru Forester there several times and they have always taken great care of me. Their mechanics are all good men, Ive never felt unsure or that I was being cheated which is a real problem Ive had at other shops. I would recommend Independent Imports to anyone looking for good honest service.

TLDR: 1. tried charging me for service I didn’t agree too 2. Thayne gave me conflicting information from one day to the next 3. terrible communication, I always had to call them. I’d wait hours for them to call beyond when they said they would.The first day my car was in the shop I got no updates from them on the service. I called a little before closing and was told my brakes were so low it was unsafe to drive; that they should be replaced. I asked for more information on the situation and Thayne told me he would call me the next morning when he could put it on the riser and check them out again. The next day, again, they never called me or emailed me or texted me. I called them sometime between 11am and noon and was told Thayne would call me right back. By 3:30 I still hadn’t heard from them so I called for an update on my car. Thayne then tells me that my brakes were just fine and didn’t need to be replaced for another couple of oil changes! He goes on to tell me that he had my brakes cleaned and my brake fluid flushed, and that was added to my bill, until I called them out on not ever agreeing to nor asking to have that done! Then he tells me that I also now have an oil leak that should be fixed, which I declined having done. I don’t trust this shop anymore. I wanted to trust them because I know a good friend of mine has been going here regularly and is a friend of Thayne. We are both baffled by this situation.

You cooperated with me and helped me fix my window regulator on a Friday afternoon so I didnt have to spend the weekend in the cold. You didnt turn me away or even say that I needed to schedule an appointment. You let me propose a solution and then you solved my problem and charged less than the dealer would have. You were kind and pleasant to converse with as well. I will certainly keep your business in mind when my car needs work in the future.

This place is horrible. I would give it 0 stars if I could. I have brought in my car multiple times only to have it die the day after picking it up. They never fixed the problem and I ended up having to take my car to the dealership and pay additional money just to have it fixed. I thought I could trust them to fix it but I was wrong. The service they offer isnt even close to the price they charge. I would never recommend going here.

Finding an honest and capable mechanic is priceless. He is very knowledgeable about BMWs and puts real time into making sure he knows whats really wrong. So many mechanics fall for the red herring. The customer service is stellar as well. Winston the poodle is a gem.

Ind. Import has serviced our car many times (preventative and correction). If you have a German-built car these guys are your experts. They stand by their work, too. There was an instance where Thayne (the owner) took our car back in and reworked a complicated, previous job free of charge, which otherwise would have been hundreds of dollars in labor. Lower prices than the dealership and better quality work. The staff is incredibly friendly - Matt, the service manager, is particularly awesome. Sad to be leaving the area but if I can come back I will.Theyve made us loyal customers and well recommend them to everyone we know.

Do not go here. Quoted me $200 for a job 3 other places quoted me for less then $100, and finally got done for $85. These guys are rip offs and addmitted to charging more if you bring your own parts because if you do then they cant rip you off on parts. When I told them the other places quoted me so much less he got very rude and said if they want to work for $10 an hour they could. It was a 1 hour of labor job. Guy cant even do math.

I have been going to independant import for years now. The quality and service are by far the best, especially if you own a BMW. The possible extra you might pay is well worth the quality and expertise you will recieve. These guys are great!

Expensive and really slow. Ended up paying way more then I anticipated and the owner wasnt upfront with me. At least I dont feel like he was. Paid him 900 to fix my transmission which they just replaced a 60$ dollar part and 840 in labor. To have it go out 2 months later, I think they band aided it instead of fixing it. But Im no mechanic....
