I started coming to Northstar about a year ago when I moved in from the suburbs. The staff has always been nice, which is part of why I feel so taken aback and upset about my most recent experience. I took my car in because the check engine light came on. When I picked my car up, the check engine light came back on almost immediately and my car was noticeably operating poorly. I tried to get in touch with Northstar via email about the issue and no one answered me. I wasn’t able to get in for about two weeks and, because of my schedule, I simply couldn’t wait that long to have a car I felt safe driving. I ended up taking it to a local (non dealer affiliated) mechanic and he said that the coil was missing from my engine. How do you lose a coil for an engine?! I understand everyone is human and mistakes happen, but that seems pretty big to me, especially since they let me know on a call that they were triple checking that the car worked. I’m now $1.5k in the hole between all of the repairs I had to have done, one that wasn’t completed correctly that no one at the dealer was willing to own up to, and one that wouldn’t have been necessary had they done the repair right the first time or, at a minimum, provided good customer service and owned up to their mistake. I work in customer service too and admitting when you’ve done something wrong is a much better approach than ignoring two emails from an angry client. Will not be coming back. It’s sad because they had been so nice and the minute I had an issue, it was like I didn’t exist.

Was great! Paying my service bill was a little awkward as you had to walk through the parts department and then through the customer lounge to the cashier. I understand the concept of keeping the money in one location but it didn’t flow very well and was a little confusing. Also there is only one cashier. The service department has three kiosks to expedite customer intake but only one person cashing them out. But maybe that works for the volume they do.

I have been a customer with Northstar for the last 10 years. We have bought 3 cars from the. I have had good experiences at the Moon location but West Liberty will not be getting any further business from my household.I took my car in on Monday and they didnt have the proper patch so I had to return the next day to get it fixed. One the next day I was charged almost $700 for 4 new tires. I informed them of the error and asked them to double check. Then they told me the tire could not be fixed so I was being charged for a brand new tire. While standing at my car I asked again if this was a new tire. The employee assured me it was. When I looked closer, the tire had chalk marks on it from where the tech marked damaged areas the previous day. Clearly not a new tire. I was told someone from the dealership would call me the next day to give me another refund. Finally at noon I called them and the cashier wasnt in their office to process my refund so I had to wait another hour for them to call me back.It has taken me 3 days and multiple phone calls to get my tire patched and the correct amount of money refunded to my account. I never expected to have such a chaotic and unorganized experience. If you go to this location read your bill and double check everything!

I bought my Tahoe in December of 2018 brand new from the showroom. Since then I have had it to Service department at west liberty Chevrolet 3 times for the same issue. It has never been corrected. Last month it was there for 2 weeks and of course the traction control light and check engine light went out as soon as I got it there. Also I live in fayette county so this dealership is not convenient for me. So they kept it for 2 weeks and said it was a misfire. While they had my 2018 Tahoe with only 23,800 miles on it, THEY SMOKED IN IT! ASHES ALL OVER THE DRIVERS SIDE AND INSIDE. My non smoking vehicle stunk! Never again.

I live close by, so coming here is the closest and most convenient option when it comes to getting my car serviced. However, I was and have been continuously pleasantly surprised by the professionalism, efficiency, and great work done by all involved at this location. Greg in the collision center was amazing, and even after weeks of working together, from when I first brought my car to receive an estimate, to dealing with the insurance company, to finishing the body work of the car, everything was done incredibly well and efficiently.

I ordered a STOCK 16” rim from these guys and I was told my total was $352 and some change. Billed the next day the amount was more because they failed to mention that the price was $352 before taxes. Picked my rim up and the two gentleman in the Parts department were ignorant and unprofessional. Never will I recommend a Chevy dealership to a family member nor a friend. If I didn’t need a rim ASAP I would of looked elsewhere and spent $600 for a complete set of different rims. Ripped off and unpleased with service.

The consistently reached out to me with updates throughout the entire process. They did great work. I couldn’t even tell my car had been damaged. They washed and detailed my car before pick up. I let them know I was from out of town, and they even finished my car before the projected completion date which was a big help for me.

They even paid for a ride share service so I could go to class and then come back to pick up my car. They were amazing and so nice and helpful. I bought my 2016 Jeep Compass with 64,000 miles on it about a month ago. I have been having constant problems. I had to give it a $220 dollar tune up just to be able to accelerate up a hill! Now I am broken down in South Carolina with my children because i trusted these people!!!I have tried several different times to contact the dealership, but the guy that sold me the car wont even call me back! The dealership is about 3 hours from my house. They had the car I wanted at the right price. Short of signing the papers, everything was done online/over the phone. When we arrived, the car was ready. We signed the papers and were ready to go. Luanne, our salesperson, went over the car and any questions we had. Definitely would recommend.

I think what I really like about this dealership is the team attitude among everyone. I prefer to see an organization that seems to work together - rather than compete among themselves (even when their compensation may be partly based on their individual performance). I took my car in to get a weird noise checked and fixed. The staff was very nice and polite. They told me my car probably wouldnt go into the bay till at least noon, which was fine. Came home and they called to tell me it was ready for pick up. I picked up my car and was back home by noon! the noise is no longer there and they did a complimentary inspection and found nothing else wrong with the car.

I bought a 2018 Chevy Silverado high county in November. After a week I noticed that the rims had been switched to some pitted old rims with old tires. When i called the lady that sold me the truck. She was like not to worried. I love the truck. Just hate the fact that I got old rims on. My new truck. Totally unsatisfied with that .

I brought my vehicle to NorthStar Chevrolet on West Liberty Ave for some maintenance and state inspections. It turned out that my vehicle needed to have some repairs performed for it to pass the emissions portion. The service representative, Christian, was very kind and pleasant to deal with. I was required to leave my vehicle with them for a period, so Christian went the extra mile for me and secured a loner vehicle before I even arrived to drop off my vehicle. I was very impressed with the amount of care taken, not only for the safety and reliability of my vehicle (which was not purchased from them), but also my personal convenience. Fist of all I brought my car there months ago wanted oil change after 3000miles worker there told me I never need oil change quoted new cars dont need it. Oil light comes on. Took 49 days to fix the transmission in my 2020 Camaro. Its still not fixed. Im pretty angry . Took it to 3 other dealers who told me the transmission should have been replaced. Has had this problem since new.

The inspection and service were good. One minor issue was that the car came out with a ton of water marks while there were none when it went in. The windshield had also been wiped from inside but not dried properly leaving it stained, for me to clean it again by hand. Would appreciate the cleaning to be better next time. Thank you.

Had my 2011 Impala serviced here early July 2020. I normally went to an independent mechanic for state inspections but also had a specific problem they could not figure out so decided to go here. They fixed the specific problem along with a couple other things and my car is now running absolutely fantastic. Feels like it is running like a brand new car. Cannot remember the last time my car has been running this good. Absolutely worth the extra couple hundred $$ or so more than I might have spent at an independent (total cost was about $1K). Most likely will stick with for all future repairs and inspections.

A very courteous service representative greeted me when I came in that day for my service appointment showed me the new waiting area, due to renovations ongoing at the dealership. Firstly, I was very disappointed by not your service but with their words. Since they assured me that they would do vacuum inside my vehicle but while taking a delivery I had noticed that interior of the vehicle was not cleaned. When I question them about the same, they were like they would not do that stuff there. I do not recommend this to anyone sorry. Every other thing was very good.

I live in DE but out in Pittsburgh for business. My 2016 Sonic was just serviced at a My neighborhood Chey dealer yesterday and they conducted an all points inspection. My overheating warning light came on so I called North Star and explained that I was far from home and really needed some help. The woman that took my call basically said “don’t know what to tell you, we’re talking appointments for next Wednesday” no empathy AT ALL! Thank God they’re good people out here. Chuck from Classic Chevrolet squeezed me in because of my situation. Great customer service goes a long way. Thank you team Classic Chevy!

And not sure if my tires got rotated and the filled my tire up and never tighten the caps down or didnt put them on so I lost them when I left there driving but the guy was there who helped me was nice but he was too busy because there needs to be more people. Check-in was quick, staff were nice.Service was also pretty quick. They are under construction now (sept/oct 2020) so the waiting area was not great if you needed to do work or wait a while. They did provide Lyft rides home and back.

Soooo, I went there about a week ago to have them look at my check engine light... (The code read p1101... YALL KNOW WHO I AM..) I told the guy up front that it came up on a reader, 4 to be exact.. He proceeded to inform me that if they serviced it, it would cost a little over 100 bucks... He then said if I didnt get it serviced but they looked to see what the problem was, it would still be the same.. So, I let them do it, I TOLD HIM AT THE BEGINNING IT WAS CODE P1101... MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR... I TOLD HIM.. So he comes back with a computer system upgrade theyd done and charged me basically for nothing... NEVER MENTIONED THAT CODE.. I LEFT, WITHIN 20 MINS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS BACK ON.. I called, brought it back.. He again explained about the upgrade that im sure, could have been done a little later, and I AGAIN SAID THAT CODE NUMBER.. They took it back and of course, ALL OF A SUDDEN, ITS THE P1101 SENSOR... He says, its gonna cost like 600+ bucks... 7 hr job he says... IM LIKE BS, but run the salesman/serviceman talk... Money, NOT THE OPTION... I did my own research, went to men IK work, has worked on cars and they all said the same thing, no more than a 300/400 dollar job and its only 30 mins to an hr to fix.. So, I def didnt come back, even knowing the ordered the parts... WHY, WELL, I PAID FOR A SERVICE CHECK, MEANING CHECK WHY THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON, then, I HAD TO GO BACK WITHIN 20 MINS FOR SOMETHING I SAID, SUGGESTED TO THEM TO LOOK AT IN THE FIRST PLACE, AND THAT WAS THE PROBLEM... Someone almost bought a car from them that day, IM LIKE NOPE... He got his car from the location I went to and got a cheap quote from.. DONT GO HERE... THEY WILL ROB YOU... LISTEN AND KNOW BEFORE YOU GO INTO A DEALERSHIP.... You dont have to know cars to know whats wrong... Listen and dont let the NON INSURED HUSTLE MACHANICS GET YOU.. They know they stuff though.. Listen and then go to a licensed machanic... I did and it save me like 400 dollars.. #Fact

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! There is no way this place will stay in business. I cant speak for the sales department but service is a joke at best. The shop is run down and both times I was there they only had 3 techs working. Both times I went to pick my vehicle up after I was told it was done I ended up leaving without it because they werent fixed.

Last year I needed a wheel to replace a cracked wheel on my new Corvette. North Star replaced the wheel and charged me $995. This year I need another wheel and this time I shopped for it. $450 at Tire Rack. Draw your own conclusions.

I will preface this review by saying that the work they did was good and fast, however, I will never go back there because I feel like they scammed/were trying to scam me.I took my 2014 Cruze in because the check engine light was on. I have a code reader so I already knew the issue was with the thermostat and thermostat housing. I can do my own repairs, I just do not have time to at the moment. As I was pulling into the dealer, I happen to notice that my inspection is up in August, so I ask them to do that also.The service advisor tells me that because the check engine light is on, they cant do the inspection for me until the car has been driven at least 150 miles after the check engine light has been fixed. Fine, I should have remembered this, not a big deal. I said thats okay, Ill bring the car back at the end of next month when the inspection is actually due.Later I get a call about the car and they tell me they need to replace the thermostat housing and give me the price. I approve the work.Heres where the scam starts. They tell me that I also need a fuel system cleaning and that if I dont do it, the check engine light will come back on. This was a lie. They didnt know that I already pulled the codes on the car and I have a record of what codes the check engine light was reporting. The only code reporting was the one regarding the thermostat. They wanted to charge about $130 for this service (I dont remember the exact dollar amount). Folks, this is a can of $12 can of Seafoam and its so easy, my grandmother could do it. I understand there is some labor involved, but lying to people to get this high mark-up service? Also, this car only has 42,000 miles and only ever gets Costco gas which has the most detergents. The likelihood of this or *any* modern car needing this service at 42,000 miles is extremely low.They told me Id need 1 license plate light bulb replacement for $17.95 (cost at Amazon, $4.49 for a two pack). I had a reminder in my phone to go pick up the bulbs today, but something made me think to check before I did and guess what? Both license plate bulbs still work.They told me the car needed an oil change that my oil life monitor was at 15%. I agreed to the oil change, however I now suspect the 15% was also a lie. I have since looked up my last oil change on PepBoys website and it was less than 5,000 miles ago. The oil life monitor on this car routinely runs to at least 10,000 miles.Now the part that really grinds my gears (as if the rest werent bad enough). Remember how they said they couldnt do the inspection because Id need to drive it for a while after the check engine light had been reset? Well, they charged me for the emissions test anyway (the rest of the inspection was free) and told me I had to come back in 150 miles. They did this even though I told them I would come back next month for the inspection when it was due.This whole experience left a bad impression and I will not be returning except to collect my inspection stickers for which they already charged me for. After that, goodbye forever.
