The reasons I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that they dont give you the service/maintenance record of your car and they also provide me only one key. Im in the process of purchasing a vehicle from Hertz, but I wanted to share how amazing of an experience I have had so far. Charles Kelly is hands-down the greatest car salesman I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Theres no pressure, he is very willing to help you find the right car (he pulled out 4 cars for me!), and hes very understanding of circumstances/wants/needs. He went above and beyond to help me out as my family had driven in an hour and a half to look at cars with me. I highly recommend working with Charles Kelly!Update: We pulled off of the lot and a brake light was out, but we were able to get the situation immediately taken care of. Again, Charles was an immense help! No issues a month after purchase!
The customer service was excellent! I got picked up by a young lady and she was very conscious of being safe about Covid 19. When I got to the hertz property I was waited on right away. My insurance covered 80% of the cost and everything was explained very well. Very easy and fast. Nice car too!
I saw an advertisement that Hertz sells cars at reasonable prices so I checked them out online. Saw a few vehicles I would like to purchase and completed an application for financing online. Received an email I would be contacted by a representative within 24 hours. Still no contact and its been 2 weeks.So I reapplied again. Received another email that I would be contacted by a representative within 24 hours however this time they requested my pay stubs which I submitted. Once again no contact son I reached out to them via the number in the email. I spoke to a representative who advised they had some questions including which vehicle I wanted (this was excluded from my last application). When I located the information for the vehicle, I attempted to call back for 3 days several times a day and no response. I located their corporate number for sales just to be put me on hold and then hung up on. This happened several times. This is very unprofessional to the point I no longer want to do business with them.
It appeared to be great service, not even 24hrs. after buying a vehicle I had problems with the vehicle. I came out from work and my vehicle wouldnt start and I had to pay $88.00 for roadside assistance to come give me a jump.
Awful customer service!!! The finance manager was unfriendly and didn’t seem as if he wanted to even do business with us. We were well dressed in our appearance, but certainly not treated professionally. There are many other dealerships around, so take your business elsewhere; where you’re valued as a customer and handled properly. Very disappointed!!!
After months and months of car searching it ended here. I found the car I was looking for at a great price! My car buying experience here was excellent!!! The salesman guy Rodney is the man!!! Also the finance man Tony as well!!!! Thanks to the finance man Tony, he got me a good interest rate on the car. At a very affordable payment. Rodney also helped me with insurance as well Rodney and Tony were very helpful. I’m a young guy and I brought the vehicle to build my credit. Everyone there was proud of me especially Rodney he seen that I was a young guy doing the right thing and he respected me for that which I really appreciate. All I did was be patient and the guys made it happen! I just wanna thank everyone there. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends family etc.
They made it easy. The car was ready when I got there and they offered a fair price for my trade-in. I had to push back a bit harder than I would have liked to reject the extended warranty, but compared to the kind of experience I would have had at a normal dealership, Ill take it. I wouldve have had to waste a lot more time and energy haggling with a traditional dealer in order to get the same price for the same car.

The most rude person on the phone you could ever meet. He sounds uneducated and doesn’t understand basic English. Even if I wanted to buy a car from them just calling for general information was a complete turn off. Save your time and money go somewhere else. No one wants to pay people to be rude to them.
Applied for a vehicle last week. Spoke with someone, asked how much was I putting down as a down payment(which was $1,600)and credit reports were pulled same day, with someone promising to get back to me within the next hour. Its been over a week, and I called back today. Got placed on hold and all of a sudden I get hung up on, and Ive been calling back but no ones answering the phone. Now, Im pretty sure that it only takes a few minutes to tell me if I got approved or not, so why give me the run-around?

It was my second time buying a car with Hertz Car Sales and I reached out to a few locations, but I went with Loreal. She is simply awesome and I went home with a 10,000 mile used 2020 Ford Edge!I was in need of a car since I got back to the states and reached out to a few Hertz Car Sales. Knowing the current situation with COVID19 and the Bankruptcy affecting Hertz, I have to say I got this vehicle for a steal.Loreal was extremely friendly, extremely knowledgeful, not pushy and welcoming. This is very rare for a used car sales person and I look forward to working with her again on my next car and will be sending people over to her for sure! Bought a Nissan from here and transmission went. Trying to call and get information about warranties, however, called for days, it would ring, go through a series of press 1, press 2, etc.. I would wait, only to be hung up on.
I would not recommend this place.Vehicle purchased in May of 2019. Had to renew temp tag 3 times because purchased tags from Hertz didnt arrive for many months after purchase and payment. Had to pay for those tag renewals out of pocket and have yet to receive reimbursement.Have to consistently call to follow up and Managers do not return calls.Bad business.Seems that after the sale is made there is no consideration of customers time or money spent in this place.
Loreal was the most amazing car sales person I’ve ever dealt with in my life. Upon calling to see if a car was available she was waiting with the keys for me when I walked in. She helped me find great options and also was super knowledgeable. She was also great in customer service. We talked about everything from the car to life and it helped make the process so much easier. She also worked hard the two days I was in during the process. My family and I we’ll definitely return to see her. If I could give her 100 stars I would!
Returned my car within the 7 day period, paid the $200 restocking fee, now a month later there bank is telling me they never undid my loan. So as of now I still owe 18000 on a car I dont have. Dont go here customer service is horrible I cant get anyone on the phone.

Do your car buying homework, but definitely include them. No negotiating but cars have been well maintained. High milage but cars are late models. Make sure you still have some coverage under the original manufacturers warranty, then take it to the original dealer and let them do a 100 point check and fix anything still under warranty. Will cost you a few bucks but is well worth it.

She is my go to person when I really need a car. No pressure to buy lets you test drive as many cars as you need to to get what you want. Helps you budget your expenses. Proud car owner.

As of this morning, I am not even sure if my loan is approved yet..but I wanted to say that Loreal Jefferson is a great salesperson! Low pressure, answers to all of my questions and made everything very easy. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for an affordable used car.Minus 1 star because there are some difficult aspects, like down payments are only accepted in the form of money order or cashiers check, which can be difficult to obtain on weekdays if youre at work the same hours that your bank is available.

Been waiting for a long time after coming in to check up on a fix on my car and had a quick question for the agent I worked with called Loreal Jefferson. I had left my car all day and came to pick it. I wanted to find out about the add-ons I had gotten with my car. She paid no attention to me at all. As soon as you sign the paper to buy it seems they don’t care about you. This is the treatment I got here by Loreal Jefferson.
...within a week, we had a problem with the battery and computer....it cost me 365.00. My understanding is that this expense would be on Hertz. No one has bothered to call me back. After 4 calls, forget it....I cannot do business with a company that has no backbone...PATHETIC!!!
All of the other times I have engaged with car salesmen have been extremely typical. Working with Ashley Casselle on the other had was a very pleasant and positive experience. She really does care about your needs and isnt pushy as had been my other experiences. I highly recommend Hertz Philly and make sure you ask for Ashley!
Something told me to stop in and give them a try. Best move I have ever made. Loreal friendly professional. I informed her of features I was looking for and found me the perfect car. Even the color i wanted. Mike in finance was great also straight to the point.I got a good intrest rate and payments that I could afford. Upon waiting to be approved I sat in the car looked around and found the car was taken to pep boys 3 weeks prior to be serviced and checked out. Needed 2 tires and windshield wipers. Which was replaced.. I will never by a car from anyone else but them. Thank you guys so much
DONT DO IT. Shady, and took forever. We purchased a 2019 grand caravan GT. We could not find the one we were looking with all (hard) leather interior elsewhere and this car was a good value for the miliage. We were a bit in a time crunch as our own grand caravan had just been crushed by a tree and salvage was coming to get it from our home the next day. So we needed a car asap. We spent 20 minutes test driving, 10 minutes deciding and well over 6 hours entangled in paper work and waiting. The car was filthy, and smelled of vomitus or urine and we thought they were cleaning it while we waited for paper work. The werent. We had to come back on another day to use a detailing voucher. Prior to and at purchase, we found the car had 4 mismatched tires. 1 with a huge bubble and 1 with no tread. We complained and were told by the manager that it was fine and the car would pass inspection, and he could do nothing for us. We asked for a $500 credit to cover the cost of inconvenience and having to put 4 new tires on the car. They declined. I wouldve walked out but given the circumstances we bought the car. We carefully drove the car home and took it to Midas the next am. Midas agreed it was unsafe and said the car would never have passed inspection. 4 new tires were placed on the car. We called Hertz and tried to get management to pay for the cost of labor to put 4 new tires on the car. They said to email them receipts and such. We never heard back on the ~$280 reembursment.We did take the car back to get it detailed the next week or so- the detail job was just ok and the car still smelled (we cleaned it twice more and its ok now). Within a week of purchasing the car, the 2 rear doors started to grind when opened and closed. We had to take it to the dealer twice to get them serviced (2 almost full work days of waiting). In all, 5 full vacation days dedicated to getting and servicing the car. At the dealer they commented what did we expect buying a fleet car (sigh).The engine most recently makes a funny noise, the driver seat warmer stopped working and the fold down back seat plastic part broke when putting the seat down- so well be taking it to a mechanic soon. The only saving grace to the whole dilemma was our kind sales rep. and the nice financial guy we spoke with. The manager and guy above him were rude, dismissive and not very helpful. When I the asked the (regional) manager if hed drive his little one around with a tire that had a huge bubble in it- he said hed have no problem with it -nice.Huge time sink, huge series of inconveniences, rude upper management. We are really reasonable people and just wanted a fair shake on the tire situation. Not remotely worth the hassle or missed days of work. In hind sight we shouldve purchased a similar (nonGT model) that was a block away at the dodge dealer - it was a couple thousand more and not the interior we wanted BUT would have saved a ton of grief and would have not been a frowned upon fleet car.
Hertz Car Sales rocks!! I just purchased a Ford Fiesta, the exact car I wanted. My salesperson was Ashley and I cant say enough good things about her service and knowledge. And Preston in finance is a miracle worker. The entire experience took about 3 hours and I drove home the very same day! Hertz, Ashley and Preston deserve 10 stars. Thank you so much Hertz!!!!
Online says they close at 8pm, drove all the way from south jersey, took about an hour, just for them to tell me they’re closed. It was 5:03 pm and she said they closed at 5 so i mentioned how online says 8 (keep in mind while i’m taking she’s walking away from me to go inside) and she said “nope” and shut the door on me. There was 7 workers inside still, don’t see why i couldn’t just ask a few questions. Definitely do not recommend this place, very rude customer service.
Buying a car can be a stressful process. This dealership alleviates the tension with their no haggle prices. No hidden fees or any of the other gimmicks that dealers have when you are ready to buy the vehicle. Loreal Jefferson is the most amazing car sales person to do business with. She has extensive knowledge of the cars and goes the extra mile to service her customers. You dont have to worry about people running up to you while you are out looking at the cars on the lot. The test drive was fairly simple with just a show of my drivers license
Went in to buy a car only to be talked down about my pre approved loan and that they wouldnt take it because they had never heard of the credit union, even though its a multi-state credit union. They ran my credit without my consent, even after I explained that I dont want it pulled because my credit union had pulled it for my loan. Had a 30% down payment and pre approved loan for the remainder and ended up walking out based off of their poor customer service skills.Long story short- go somewhere else. These people couldnt sell a potato if they tried.

Unfortunately, I was not told about the $200 reserve or about the fact that the entire amount was due upfront, on my credit card and they wouldnt accept my credit card. While the two customer service agents were nice, it was quite clear that they were not about to go above and beyond their call of duty to help me. How sad, as I was given wrong information when reserving the rental over the phone. I was from out of state, petrified and had a heavy heart with coming to tend to the affairs of a very ill parent. I had to pay two ways from the airport and back as well as a cancellation fee when the lyft driver didnt see me and left. Not a good experience, at all!
I recently purchased a 2018 Dodge Challenger from this location. I also rent from Hertz every 3 weeks (17x/yr), even signed my company up for a CDP. My experience buying a car from them has been very different than the high-quality experience I have when renting. First of all, I will say I love the car . Ive been looking at Challengers for months, and the price was right on this one at 10k miles . The problems are with the dealership rather than the vehicle. It has been 54 days and I still do not have a copy of the title or other paperwork necessary to get plates for the car . My temp tag expires in 8 days, and I will be unable to drive my brand new car because they havent sent the paperwork to the lender yet. So thats problem number 1. Problem number 2 is even though they showed me (and asked me to acknowledge and sign) a car history report (car fax )stating the vehicle had not been in an accident, I found out after a few weeks that the car did in fact have (fairly poor quality) body work done . It was not reported or documented, which means they did the work themselves or paid to have it done in a way that avoided reporting . This leads me to believe that when you see a low-mileage car for sale at Hertz, they pulled it from the fleet because it was no longer rentable. Now, Im not a complete moron, and I also work in sales. I went into this eyes open, knowing that buying a former rental vehicle came with some risks. The problem is the misleading statements and lack of follow up, which have nothing to do with the vehicle and everything to do with the business practices of Hertz car sales . Im really disappointed in the way theyve ignored my repeated attempts to contact and rectify the situation, which would be as simple as acknowledging the problem and a simple $3-500 paint correction job to fix the clear coat. Google reviews is my first stop, but I plan on pursuing this via every available channel, up to and including legal action. But the question you, the reader, have to ask yourself, is do you want to buy a car from a place you might have to sue in order to make sure things are right just to save a few bucks on a car? I would give anything to go back in time and buy from a dodge dealership instead of Hertz car sales.
The cars are way to tiny and they charge you $255 a week which is $1020 a month. The cars have scratches and dents yet this is the fleet they offer you to rent. Dont waste your time if you want a midsize because the Nissan Sentra and the Chevy Cruze is their midsize or Intermediate as they call it
So far we have been waiting for more than 30 minutes. We reserved this car weeks ago and it wasnt ready when we got here. They also tried to force is into what they cal a free upgrade. The car comes around the corner and its an suv when we ordered a compact car. No one even asked if we wanted an suv rental. The amount of gas we wouldve spent between vehicles is significant. Not to mention when we checked in they said they were cleaning the car.I made my car reservation weeks ago. Why isnt my car ready to go when I arrive?I asked the lady that helped us and her response was well, we gave you a free upgrade and that car was ready.Final checkout time = 45 minutes. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE WAITED THAT LONG TO GET A RENTAL WHEN I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE OFFICE BEING HELPED.Not only that, but the car isnt actually clean.I will NEVER rent from here again nor would I recommend it.
I went there to get a car. They asked me for my credit I did. They had doubt about my social security. It was ok. The guy who is supposed to help me as a customer service was asking me a bunch of questions than he will run to his manager to let him know. It wasnt professional. the interest was 17.9 ridiculous. They gave me a list of documents including my phone bill and too many other. I left the place and I will never put my feet there. Keep your trash guys.
Just bought my new car from here last week. Couldnt be happier with the vehicle. Sales guy was friendly and not overbearing. My only complaint was the finance manager. Everything was quick and painless, until we got to his part. I waited for almost 2 hours by the time he finally got to my paperwork. Everything else was finished. Loan approval, insurance, ECT. Just waiting for him to get the paperwork in order for me to sign took longer than the whole rest of the process combined.
Well the reservation is who made the reservation over the phone somehow the manager at the Hertz Rent-A-Car place on Essington Avenue in Philadelphia were not on the same page the reservationist when I made it I changed my credit card because the old one was expired and thats all I had to do the price was 189 and I told her that was fine because I was supposed to rent with enterprise but they wanted a $400 hold and I was using a credit card and I previously rented from them and they only held $50 so I came back to hertz that young lady reservation is told me that hurts doesnt do that hold a down payment when you rent a car so I said fine Ill rent from you guys she took my information never told me about any down payment and I was good until I got to the desk at enterprise rental on Essington Avenue they tried to run my card and the card came back declined for insufficient funds so I asked the young man what did he mean declined he said that was not enough money on the card I said I just deposited $250 what do you mean hey said no the rental is for $489 I said no its not its only for 189 and thats what youre supposed to have ran the card for he told me there was a $200 hold also along with the 189 now here I am standing in the office waiting to pick my family up and go on vacation and Im going through it because of the card so I called Capital One to see how I can make the adjustment with Capital One on the line I had to call my bank TD Bank for them to transfer enough money out of my account to cover the rental of the car that was a Linklea process and Im not happy that I had to go through all of that because the young man at the office told me that each location is allowed to do what they want to do and its different just because she told me there was not a hold I should have called there to find out if there was so Im really not happy with the process that took place standing inside of the rental office on Essington Avenue for the longest but the car that I rented was fine I think you should address the The person that made the reservation on the phone and also the young man in the office on Essington Avenue to be on the same page and not have the customer have to stand before everybody else looking embarrassed about not enough money being on a card thank you so much need any information other than this Im pretty sure you have my phone number on my profile and yes I am a gold member
DO NOT EVER BUY A CAR HERE. On July 2017, my dad and I went to buy a Toyota RAV4 from this dealership. I with excellent credit cosigned for my father (and I live in a different state) - the car was incorrectly registered to me by the dealership and the title was also lost in the process of this. Lo and behold months and months later of dealing with the managers the sales people, the car is still registered to me, while my dad has to drive it in NJ. This dealership is full of crooks and less then capable individuals. I am still fighting the battle of registering this car but through the process of this Hertz (who caused this problem in the first place) is absolutely not cooperative.If you plan on cosigning for a person and buying a car here, think otherwise. Matter of fact dont even go here.
I went to pick up a rent-2-buy car and it wasnt anywhere near ready despite being telephoned the night before and told otherwise. Its the 2nd car Ive bought from Hertz and Id do it again.
We rented a car here to drive to DC. They didn’t have the car we reserved and so they had to drive us across town to find a car. They didn’t tell us the drive would be an hour. The airport Hertz was only 20 minutes. Had they told us we would have just gone there. Pretty disappointed with their service.
Worse experience ever. They gave me my car dusty, no spare tires, no mats and glass everywhere inside my car. I came back the next day for my detail appointment, dropped my car off, 4 hours later I called to make sure my car was washed, they said yes . I came and they have not even touched my car. I would not recommend going to this Hertz. Only thing I liked about it was the prices and the cars they had there.

ZERO STAR...HERTZ Certified - What a JOKE!!I am still confused whether I should feel cheated or disgusted...I went to 6815 Essignton Ave to find a SUV. I zeroed in a Nissan Path finder 2018, ran for 20k miles, worth 21k. VIN #5N1DR2MM6JC652312.I financed it through my bank and added in my insurance as they asked me to do. Monday when I went to pick the car, I thought of opening the bonnet and check. To my surprise, I found coolant, steering fluid and wiper cleaner liquid were missing in the car. When I asked them, they said it will be taken care of. The manager came and said sorry and he will take it to Pepboys to get it checked and see if any leakage is there. He asked me to come next day (Tuesday). I took Uber back and returned. Tuesday (today) I received another call saying car is back and only fluids were missing and now it is filled. I went again, plz note that I took another UBER. When I reached, and switched on the ignition, the dashboard meter needle was already showing as heated, means the engine condition was not good. We did check other pathfinder to compare if this is normal behavior, other car was good. SO THE CONCLUSION IS - THE CERTIFIED STICKER IS A JOKE.What I gave in this, my 3 days ( 2 evenings) taking ride to Philly. AND 200$ + ride through UBER.Worse experience. People beware.

Rude phone staff and very unhelpful. Car is due for an inspection and theres no way to get a hold of someone who knows anything about it.

When I went to get my first oil change after purchasing a 2017 Kia Optima from hertz, I learned the previous mechanic had stripped the threading the oil pan and it cost me nearly $700 to replace the whole oil pan. Maybe Hertz’s mechanics don’t take good care of the cars while they are in their care 😪

I purchased a Volkswagen Passat in July. I had to drive quite a distance to purchase the vehicle. The car was filthy inside and out when I went to pick it up, but I had a long drive home and decided to deal with it. There was melted candy on the center console, ice cream in the carpets. I found 3 stamp bags of heroin and some marijuana when I set the E brake when I stopped on the turnpike, already 150 miles outside of Philly. I contacted Hertz via email, and there was a quick reaponse to let me know this was unacceptable and they would follow up in 24 hours. A week later there was no response, so I emailed again. Nothing. 6 weeks after I purchased the vehicle I finally was called, but not about my complaint, it was because they still hadnt processed my registration. 2 and a half months after I purchased the vehicle I emailed the company once again. I was told that the company called me to address my issue, and had to leave a voicemail. That was incorrect, the only call I had ever recieved was 6 weeks after forst contact and it was about my registration. This company had the worst service from day one. I would rather swallow razor blades than ever deal with any Hertz location, whether to purchase or rent a car. If you are looking for a company who stands behind their name please, go somewhere else. You will thank yourself for it.

Had to get a rental car thru here via my.insurance. watch ur pricing they will try to overcharge u.they did not have a great selection- a total of 2 cars to pick from ....base models $40 a day....sell used rentals 10k+ up decent shape big selection of newer n used cars though. Rental dept.closed at 12 on sat.!****DO NOT GO THERE FOR A RENTAL THRU INSURANCE THEY WILL CHARGE U WELL AFTER THE FACT,EVEN OVER CHARGE U... TOTAL B.S.NEVER EVER AGAIN $1,100 + FOR A CRAPPY, TINY CHEAP, HYUNDAI SEDAN RENTAL WITH.MY DAILY CAR INS.DISC! AT THAT ONLY 4 WEEKS*****NO PAPERS EVER GIVEN ON CAR RENTAL,I HAD 2 OPTIONS! Had good experience. Purchased a car from them, but it gets busy with not enough staff. I was in there 3 or 4 times, and half the time I waited a bit to be helped.
Came in to look at cars because the pricing was great online, walked around the lot a bit and went inside to ask some questions and get some feedback because I hadnt fully decided what I wanted to get and received no help. The girl just asked did you see what you wanted and acted like I was bothering her when I started asking questions and tried to see some cars. All of the cars say see an associate for pricing and the girl just told me the prices and details are all online. Left within 10 minutes of being there and I will not be back. They are not friendly or helpful, Id give 0 stars if I could.Also edited to add that the one car they unlocked to let me see the inside was dirty. There was dust everywhere, something sticky on the steering wheel and some powder in the passenger seat. Disgusting!

Bought a 2013 prius,Loreal Jefferson helped us out in ensuring smooth transaction of our first car. (she even gave us her personal number and helped us over the weekend to get our paperworks lined up)As a side note, If youre looking to buy a car here, inspect the car, take it for the 2 hrs, during the 2 hrs take it to a dealership service center for a bill of health, take it for the 3 day rental.one suggestion that I could make for the dealership is for them to install wire transfer/ACH payment method.

Ashley did not tell me that there is only one key with the car and tells that cars come with only one key. She cheated me on this. Now I have to make another copy of the key myself. I have to see what else is going to come up. Today only I bought the car.
