This place is awesome and has great managers. Ive been here three times within the last year to rent a truck to purchase some furniture and always had a great experience. Randy is great manager and helped me out tremendously with a problem I was having with a key lock. The GM is also really cool I forgot his name. I think the negative reviews here are just people that are very sensitive and dont realize that things take time especially when youre moving. I didnt have a great moving experience and it took 2 days instead of 1 but the people at this location try to help you out as much as they can.
First time ever using U-Hauls services.A couple nights before pickup I went online, set up an account, and chose my location and truck size.Day of pickup at 10am I went to this location and it wasnt too busy, so I was set up quickly with my 15 truck. Got my keys, checked off some things on the Phone App like mileage, fuel level, cleanliness, etc.... and I drove onward into the sunset!
Im not sure if I could give 0 stars, but I had a very bad experience with this particular location. A simple transaction gone wrong! As we all know, theres a deposit needed to purchase a Haul, right? Right! So after moving into my new place, I returned the vehicle a day early. Expecting to receive my deposit as it was given. Unfortunately, I was a few minutes late, so I would have to come back the next day. Cool. The next day came, I called upon arrival. Luckily I called because I was informed that a check was mailed out to me. I suddenly remembered that my apartment number was not included in my address, but I was advised to wait because it may be sent to my front office. So I waited.During this time, Im starting a new job, literally the morning after I returned the vehicle. So I didnt mind waiting a few days although I couldve used the money.3 days went by. Eventually, a week went by. Still, no check. I called in to follow up because without my apartment number, the check would be sent back. There was a guy there who answered and asked me to continue waiting because he didnt see a check return. (The checks do not return to the store, it returns to corporate.) So I knew he was selling me bs at that point or simply didnt know what he was talking about. However, I kept waiting in hopes that I would get something in the mail or that it would be returned, so I could simply go to the store and receive my money back the same way that I gave it to them, in cash. I then followed up with my front office to ensure that I was correct. I was.So today I called in, 3 weeks in waiting. Kept being sent to the automated system. So I continued to call until I spoke with someone. Took about 5 calls. This time a young lady picked up the phone. After checking and calling corporate, there was still no check. She then told me that corporate insisted I wait another month to see if the check comes back. So basically, Im expected to wait 2 months to receive my money back. & if its not there in 2 months, I guess wait until 2022. I never heard of anything like that EVER! Especially about a check! A deposit!! I am absolutely furious to say the least!!!! The lady hung up on me while i waited, after telling me that she would get her DM on the phone to speak with me. I kept calling back and was sent to the automated system every time. I do not recommend this company at all! If you have ANY other options, PLEASE use them. Also, NEVER pay in cash if you do have to use this company or location.
Very pleased with this Uhaul location. Whether you are getting propane tank filled or renting equipment. The employess are outstanding. Always a good experience here everytime.

I should start by stating that calling the 800 number once you have a reservation takes more that 15 minutes to be answered and then you are passed to otherS employees that tries to help.I moved from out of state, used a Ubox and payed extra for insurance. Added help to load the box and my things were treated as garbage. The Ubox door was falling off and an employee fixed it so careless that drilled into our new baby crib. My other daughters $500 ride along electric car end up scratched every where. Upset I called the 800 number to canceled the help to unload the Ubox and I was told it was done over the phone. That I would receive the refund within days. When I called the next day and waited over 15 minutes just to double check if it was canceled I then was told I had to do it online. When I arrived to this store the older man behind the counter was rude and upset that I had canceled the help because by then they had loaded the box into a trailer to be towed. I told him I had called to cancel and he tells me well they dont tell us this stuff ( like its my fault the lack of communication they have).Dealing with the insurance for your damage belongings is a headache and takes ALOT of back and forth emails to be told you will only be receiving $100 because things are funcional. I asked for things to be fixed not for the cash but I was denied and told that what they will do is send the check by mail. Thanks to Uhaul my daughters will sleep and play with damaged but functional items.

When you pull up to the gate it says to check in and get a gate remote, but when you do so the lady inside says that they have never done a gate remote and that theyll just let you out when you pull up to the gate.Except that when i pulled up to the gate they proceeded to let me sit in the sun for about 5 minutes before I decided to jump the fence and swipe my card to open the fence.
Some kind of low motion dumb and dumber working here. 25 minutes waiting for propane refill, finally I went to another uhaul.
I have nothing but great things to say about the Goldenrode U-haul. Richard, I believe who is the owner, went above and beyond.He ensured that my bike rack was securely mounted again to my hitch, after a mishaps with a differentU-Haul location. He took the time to demonstrate that the bike rack, was in fact, secure with very little movement.He took time out of his busy morning, to explained how I could further secure my bike rack.Thank you, again, Richard, for excellent service. Youve won my loyalty.
Amazing customer service.I had rented a truck for a one-way move out of state that was a little too small Richard the owner that works here was very accommodating.He went out of his way to switch the truck to a 20ft one and even called corporate to see if he could extend my contract unfortunately that couldnt be done but he did make a note and they will work with me I would recommend this U-Haul to anyone.
I had an issue with my trailer lights and came to the uhaul on N. Goldenrod Rd. The manager there blessed me with the repairs quickly. I didnt grab his name. I would like to thank him again..thxs!!

The team at this location is top notch. Everything went flawless from check in thru return. Ive rented several trucks here and never had a problem. The staff seems mostly hospitable and very attentive. Thats why I keep going to this location.
Wish I could give zero stars richard is very rude and unprofessional. Waited 20 mins in lobby had to chase him down outside had reservation at 7am 720am I found him after discussing my time crunch richard instantly turned into a jerk very unprofessional, uhual should be ashamed by him as a employee I will not return here
Uhaul as a truck and trailer rental company is great and convenient. At this location, however, don’t expect excellent customer service. You can expect employees with a bad attitude towards customers and each other. Very awkward and uncomfortable as a paying customer to be treated this way and witness others treating each other like garbage.
I’ve used them a couple of times and have never had a problem. The owner and staff that I have dealt with are very knowledgeable and courteous. The trucks aren’t the cleanest, but I’ve seen the employees there cleaning them. I honestly can’t complain. I will continue to use their services.

I would give ZERO stars if I could! but it wouldnt let me do that.This place is an Absolute nightmare!!Do not trust them with your credit card!!!!!My biggest nightmare was realized !!This place is the worst case scenario when it comes to trusting a company with your credit card (which is mandatory to rent their trucks) I rented a 24 truck for 1 day, to move my furniture from my storage facility to another.First of all the truck was so old, dirty and run down, that I almost didnt take it, but it was late and my choices were limited. I did what I had to do and returned the truck, but it was after hours. Ive never had any problems with truck rental companies, and I rent trucks often, I restore and resell antiques. I only drove 15 miles and I made sure to put extra gas in the truck, since the gas gauge doesnt work right on these trucks their words not mine. I saved my gas receipt just in case. to make a long story short, the original estimated charge was $68 and I estimated 20 miles, so I should be getting money back, rentals usually run me about $55. My credit card on file was charged $258 and they threw away a $5000 dresser that I had mistakenly left in the truck. No phone call, just a quick twitchy finger to charge my credit card. I called, when I saw that my card was charged. and management gave me the run around for a month. When I finally spoke to the manager, he was no help. But he did remember my furniture. Claimed that he called, but left no message and no call to the backup number on file either. These people shouldnt be in business. If you dont mind dishonest people handling your credit card, be my guest! as for me this was a really expensive lesson!! and corporate is a joke, never got involved despite the multiple calls and reports that I made. They are bad for business! Stay away!
Even one star is a little generous. They made everyone wait in the pouring rain for them to open at 9am instead of letting people wait inside for 5 minutes until they were ready for business, they messed up the reservation for the customer before me and handled the whole situation horribly, all of them stood around making excuses about the error instead of one person working to fix it and the other employees helping everyone else out that was in line, I had to wait 30+ min to be helped despite my reservation and was asked to wait outside in the rain for the truck instead of inside, I bought one of the U-Haul locks and it got stuck despite the promise it would fit, and the staff was incredibly unprofessional and rude. I’d like to think I happened to catch them on a bad day and that it’s not normally that awful, but I would rather burn all of my belongings and spend money buying new things than go back to this particular U-Haul store. Luckily, the store I returned the truck to was a completely different and very positive experience.
DO NOT USE! We reserved a 26 truck with a week advance notice. The NIGHT before we were to pick up the truck we were sent an email that stated we were getting a smaller 20 truck (which would have been way too small), reduced our travel miles (by 40 miles), had changed the return date to one day earlier and changed our pickup location so we would have to drive 40 minutes to pick it up. I called the 800# and was told this was their normal scheduling procedure. They offer me a 20% discount. Like that would make up for the movers who scheduled us in that weekend and our daughter who we had to move out from her apartment too.
They were very kind. We rented a trailer and Uhaul combo and we didnt need the trailer for the remaining 5 hours so they let us return it and they even helped me when I was boxed in by cars/trucks they helped me get out. Super nice people and always in good spirits.
Yesterday (Sunday) return was terrible. No instruction as to what to do or where to go. Finally was told to drive around building and drop off trailer. Upon doing so, the gentleman was nice and took the trailer but said nothing else. My wife was already in the office to take care of the paperwork (or so we thought). There were 4 customers in line ahead of my wife. While I was parked out front waiting for my wife, I was very rudely told I couldnt park there and needed to go to the other side. I told him the only spot left was a handicap spot. He said Move to the side now, sir. I moved to the back and continued to wait for my wife. After more than 30 minutes of waiting in line to finalize the return of the trailer, my wife was rudely told she did not need to do anything and did not need to be waiting in the line. The man outside would handle everything with the trailer return. Needless to say, the man outside did nothing other than take the trailer. No further instruction and no paperwork was provided. We will not be back and highly recommend using any U-Haul facility other than this location.
Be alert and very careful when picking up or delivering the rented vehicle. The guy who delivers and receives the cars is a liar and consummate cheater, could qualify as a low-status thief.
This is the Uhaul I have been lots of time, but always having the longest waiting time.Always one lady operate, there are lots of guys but never work in the front.This place is very convenient, but make my crazy to wait.
I had a hitch installed in my vehicle about a month ago. They did a solid job installing the hitch, but they did a crappy job installing the wiring. I kept having problems with it shorting out and the wires were installed all sloppy and loose. I would change the fuse and it would immediately burn out. I took it in to another U-Haul location (Alafaya & Colonial) so they can look at it and they were very critical of the shoddy wiring installation. They showed me pictures of the melted wire rubbing up against metal, which was the source of the short. Luckily, the wiring is under warranty and the other store was kind enough to fix the problem, so I didnt have to return to the Goldenrod store. They clearly need to train their hitch installers on how to properly and correctly install the wiring.
Very knowledgeable staff willing to go above and beyond to resolve questions. Johnny even walked out in the rain with me when I was concerned about water getting in my U-Box rental.
Help me get a storages unit and also gave me good advice to save money...11/10

Gave me a truck with close to a quarter tank of gas although they marked 5/8 on the contract. In addition we have a hurricane coming to Florida and gas is hard to find. Very thoughtless considering that. In addition, they were misleading when offering complimentary days for the storm which increased my insurance cost significantly....
Screwed up my rental in the computer, made it look like i rented two trucks. i had to help them drag the trailer out. i get a call a few days later asking where the 2nd ghost truck is. the location tells me its fixed, no follow up. i call back a week later and they refund the 2nd ghost truck. i try to rent another uhaul 2 weeks later and told its still not fixed. so now i call corporate for a fix now im waiting for the computer system to update before i can rent again.
As long as you have everything you need, its in and out. Pretty fast and friendly. Clean working trailers, didnt need a actual uhaul truck so I cant speak on those

Rented truck for a few hours. Drove 18 miles and put gas in it before returning. I returned it after hours and they marked it as a eighth of a tank lower which is a complete lie and charged me over 30 dollars. I have never had issues with Uhaul. Please avoid this location.
Giving them one star because it wont let me give them minus 5, I picked up my truck at this location today (my reservation was for the Alafaya branch) but U received a call saying that my reservation was moved to Goldenrod Rd. I was suppose to get a 26 foot truck an, auto transport trailer and a appliance dolly. I ask the person that works outside with the trucks about the dolly and he said yes is in there. So I trusted him. When I get to my storage unit 5 Miles away and unhook my trailer with my car on it I open the truck and there is no dolly. The storage wont let me leave my car here and I called the location and they said that no one can help me for there mistake, and even the Manager refuse to speak to me saying he is too busy. Now Im without the equipment that I need. WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS. I will never rent again from uhaul.

I reserved a truck online the night prior to picking it up, and it was ready when I arrived at the scheduled time the next morning.Truck was extremely dirty in the cab. Someone had spilled sticky soda all over the floor of the cab and in the cup holders and it was never cleaned up. There was visible dirt and grime on all surfaces in the truck, obviously rarely cleaned.I was given the truck with 15/16th of a tank of gas, which seems like a scam to get a few gallons of gas out of your customers for free to me. I obviously cant accurately measure 15/16th of a tank of gas when returning it, so Im going to fill it up all the way to avoid their extra fees for not returning it with a full tank. Im not reimbursed for the overage, so they get the free gas.

Requested vehicle was available at reserved time. Overcharged me by a hefty amount. Took too long for them to get back to me after reaching out myself. In the end they fixed the error but lack of communication was disappointing.Vehicle was clean. Boxes and packing materials were nicely priced.

I have a unit here. Upon arriving to my unit right after 7pm, I find a lock saying that I am late on my payment. I even double checked my account and made sure I wasnt. After calling this morning and holding for 5 minutes, I was told there is no lock and they dont know what I am talking about. I will be moving my things out of the unit as soon as possible.
2 of the employees tried to charge me extra money, the first one told me my milage was 15miles, the double of what I drove . The second one wanted me to pay the damage coverage for the second time after I got back their truck and others extra charges. Please be carful about the details, and always ask why if they try to charge you more .

After my experience, I now remember why I use Home Depot or Lowes for short-trip truck rentals. The staff at this location are unprofessional, rude & poorly trained. If you need to store your belongings, go to CubeSmart. If you need to rent a truck, try a different U-Haul location or a Penske.When I called them to verify their location, the local person I spoke to gave me incorrect information. He didnt know that Wah Lum Kung Fu school across the street. In fact, he said it was Colonial High School! He also didnt know what side of the street they were on. Get them a map or take them on a walking tour.Despite a long line, they only had one cashier working.The staff are poor communicators. I was given incorrect information regarding the return of my deposit. When I asked about my refund later on, the response I kept getting was I have no idea, which the answer I got to any question I asked.I was given a truck with very low air pressure, which means they are not inspecting their vehicles before sending them out & you end up consuming more gas. If you dont pay attention or fill up before returning, they will charge you close to $4/gallon.When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told he was out looking for trucks and handed his business card. Im pretty sure he was in, as I heard the cashier speaking to the manager on the phone in Spanish. Either way, I called the Manager (Mr. Mercado) and got his voicemail. So much for managerial accountability.

I went there to return some boxes. I call before going to be sure that I could do it without the receipt. The girl on the phone said that it was ok. The girl in the counter was clueless, called everybody for help, and she ask me the same info several times. No happy with that she started arguing with who I think its the manager saying that she was done with returns. EVERYTHING IN FRONT OF ME! I end up leaving with my boxes. Very unprofessional.

I tried to rent a car hauler trailer from here and apparently a 1 ton diesel truck isnt large enough to tow a dodge ram. The rating for the trick is over 14 k lbs, the dodge weighs 4800 lbs. We were then told to leave.
