Grant is top notch again. Had him install an aftermarket heat exchanger on my 2017 Audi A6. Best quality work out there, he even takes the time to explain how the system works, what to look for if future issues arise. Attention to detail is off the charts and his prices are unbeatable. I drive the ~40 miles down to Southside Autowerks despite having 4 well-respected Euro shops within a 15 min drive of my house. Thats because Grant might be the best VW/Audi mechanic on the East Coast, and certainly in the Atlanta metro. Hes always professional, efficient and detail-oriented. I watched him double check every torque spec for the work he was doing on my car. Its that level of detail that lets me know my car is in good hands. Oh, and his prices are very reasonable. He really is that unicorn of a mechanic, being affordable, honest and highly skilled in his work.

Grant was awesome and really knows his stuff. He also fixed a problem I had and only charged me for parts. Im setting about 5 or 6 inches off the ground now. He hooked me up with some eibach lowering springs.

Best prices in town, owner is very knowledgeable. He is very detailed and he explained the whole process from beginning to end. My car had the famous cold start issue that happens to the vw 2.0 turbo, because of the carbon build up. He let me take pictures of the issue of my car. The dealer wanted $900 to fix the car. He actually Walnut blasted the carbon off my valves The dealer would only use a chemical which would not give the same result. No more check engine light (because of misfires). He even topped off my fluids as in antifreeze and windshield wiper fluid. Its the small things that make a big difference in customer service. I highly recommend this shop. I plan on using this shop for all my needs for my 2013 Jetta GLI.

He diagnosed my GTI within a day and told me exactly what was wrong and sent me pictures showing the issue. Highly recommended, I had to replace the clutch in my GTI after an APR tune and Grant excitedly poured his experience on me from the first phone call, helping me pick out the right replacement and getting it ordered for me. Not only does he know the ins and outs of VW/Audis but he is happy to share his knowledge, show you his work every step of the way and is reasonably priced. I have to drive an hour to get to his shop and will do it again in a heartbeat.

Grant knows his stuff. Will not trust anyone else with my new Atlas. Takes the extra minute to do it right.Impressed by Grants knowledge and organization. Everything is tidy and orderly. The best part, he uses his torque wrench and knows off the top of his head the torque spec for everything including drain plug and oil filter. Also uses only approved products not just what comes out of the tank. On my 19 Atlas only the VW oil is authorized, so thats what he uses.

I have been communicating with Grant over the past few weeks about bring my car in for a few upgrades, he has been so great in answering my questions and being responsive and polite. I haven’t taken my car into the shop yet for the work but he has already earned my business! I can tell that my vehicle will be in the best hands and I’m so glad to have found Southside Autowerks!! Grant is hands down the best mechanic there is for Audi/VW. I came here last week for a post-purchase inspection on a new used car and he took his time looking at every component on the car. I drive an hour just to see him.He also answered questions regarding upcoming maintenance that he recommends. Hes VERY detailed and knowledgeable when explaining everything and how it works. A lot of mechanics out there will tell you something needs to be replaced when it doesnt but Grant is a down to earth type of guy who genuinely wants to help you get what you need done on your vehicle. My experience was good. I have been searching for a new permanent mechanic and had my car towed. My car was diagnosed and repaired in an extremely timely fashion at a very fair price. The fact performance work is offered is also a plus since the garage I had been using does OEM repairs only. I plan on returning soon, as well as often and making my car not only reliable transportation, but fun at the same time. I very well may have just found a new permanent wrench man...

I took a chance and purchased a 2008 Audi R8 with a transmission issue. The car had sat for almost a year because the owner was told by the Audi store that it had a 16K transmission issue. I reached out to an old friend who works at APR and he directed me to Grant. Grant was able to give me the confidence I needed to buy the R8. As it turns out, I got the R8 back on the road for just over 3K. I have put around 1,500k on the car since Grant repaired it and it runs great.If I owned an auto shop I would operate my business as Grant operates Southside Autowerks.

Two of the best qualities I can use to describe Grant at Southside Autowerks are TRUSTWORTHY and KNOWLEDGEABLE. If it’s broke, he can fix it. If it’s not, he won’t. He has worked on my ‘09 A4 and has done several pre-purchase inspections on other cars prior to me buying it. His saying “Yes, it looks nice but I would stay away from it for these reasons...” was enough for me. I can’t recommend him any higher!
