Delicious! A work of art if you get the gelato shaped into a flower. It is $10 for a large flavor with a macaroon. I didnt love the macaroon- blueberry cheesecake. But, they allow you to pick up to 4 flavors of gelato. Mint chocolate is not good. I loved straticella the most. The blueverry cheesecake and cherries & cream were awesome too. A really fun experience!!!
Dropped by yesterday to basically just get something nice for dessert. Havent had Amorino in like forever and the last time was in Greenwich Village pre-pandemic so this was also my first time to come in to the UWS location.First and foremost, such excellent service! Linda was the one manning the store and was super nice and warm. I got a pint to go ($17) and she told me I could actually do 4 flavors in there so did Nocciola, Stracciatella, Pistachio and Caramel with Sea Salt. Even threw in a bit of Dulce de Leche for my husband because I couldnt make up my mind if I wanted Caramel or Dulce de Leche. Also offered the 2 free cones that can come with it, things I wouldnt even have known but she was so nice and proactive to share this.Overall such a wonderful experience. Thanks so much Linda! Will be back! =)
Loved the presentation for signature cone. One of the best macaroons I’ve had - soft and the right amount of sweet. However apart from Amorino chocolate, other flavors of hazelnut and dark chocolate were unremarkable. Decent pricing.
I really like how unique this place is! Honestly, I thought this was an ice cream place not Gelato, but I am happy I stopped by.I was able to get 3 flavors with a small: vanilla, chocolate and stracciatella with a chocolate macaron. The vanilla and chocolate was packed with flavor, but not overwhelmingly so. I liked the stracciatella because of the chunks of chocolate, but there wasnt much flavor to the Gelato. The macaron I think actually had Gelato inside? I liked how that was different and it was very good, just didnt have the typical crunch you would expect from a regular macaron. The staff was also very friendly. I will definitely be back to try some other desserts on the menu!
I love Amorino, and I always come to this location because it’s the one closest to me. Today I went in with my father and sister, we’re all vaccinated. They refused to sell us anything because I didn’t have a mask. We were already inside the facility they could have simply sold us the stuff we wanted and got rid of us but they refused to provide a service when they could have went about it a different million ways, i would’ve bought a mask if they had any for sale. But refusing to provide service without giving us any alternative was extremely unprofessional and offensive, NEVER coming back to this location again. My money matters.
The UWS Amorino has an excellent Covid-safe set up with distancing, waiting outside, and lots of hand sanitizer. Hopefully seating will open back up in coming weeks but for now super safe and touch free. Most importantly, some of my favorite gelato on the UWS! Straciatella is good most anywhere but the real star here was the fresh fruit options (especially black currant!) and the macaron add-ons. Beautiful!
Lovely shop and the ice cream is artistically beautiful. I ordered a mango smoothie and my partner got a blueberry cheesecake. Both items are delicious and the ice cream was shaped into a rose.
I really like good gelato. This place the service is painfully slow and prices are very high. By the time you get your order you’re so annoyed you can’t enjoy it. If I hadn’t prepaid I would have just left. Place wasn’t even that crowded. First person who started helping me had a meltdown when I asked a question and another person had to come and make my cone. Come on people you’re putting ice cream in a cone!!!
Oh my goodness I have never had such a delicious dessert item in my life. I have only once in my life made macaroons and they will never be made again because I can only have them from this location. They are the greatest location for dessert, if you are a Taurus or just here to visit family members I highly recommend you go to this location. I truly cannot say anything better about how amazing this thing is. I have no pictures literally because I inhale these the moment I get them. The staff is always friendly, theyre right on the street so its easy for you to go in and out and they bring you your ice cream. If anything if you are trying to avoid people, because you know the times, I recommend ordering ahead of time. I believe they said that you can order at least five minutes ahead of time. So if you are on the bus, order for stops before you get to the street. If you were in a car 5 minutes same for walking. Again highly recommended!
When you walk in the place looks amazing. They have many variety of sweets that you want to enjoy. If you have questions about a certain gelato or if you want to try it they will let you taste it. They are very patient when I was there a group of kids were there ordering with their parents to and they asked so many questions but not once did they made a face or stop answering. They are professionals and good flavors
First of all - its always crowded, that should tell you something. Its across the street from my hair salon, Kathe Hair, so its convenient for me and my peeps. The affogatos are amazing and the gelato and sorbet flavors are super smooth and actually full of flavor. The staff seems to work their butts off to keep the line moving. The outdoor seating is comfortable. You need a mask at the moment to be served so dont come without yours. The servers and the rest of us need to be kept safe. I am missing the grapefruit sorbet but there are so many delicious options. Its always so hard to choose. Good quality, a nice amount of gelato, friendly service, good value. I am a fan - can you tell?
Last time I tried Amorino was in Florida where I was so impressed by the look of the gelato that I devoured 3 cones in one day. This time in NYC I decided to focus on the flavors rather than on the appearance.I chose hazelnut, dark chocolate, and coffee in a classic cup. I would say the hazelnut was quiet nice. The dark chocolate was a bit too sweet for me (guess when they say dark chocolate I assume it is at least 72% but I think it is lower than that). The coffee is okay, not something impressive. The service was very professional though. A+ for those ladies who are preparing gelato flowers and cups with speed and accuracy. The line was long on Friday night, but I managed to cope my impatience by staring at the preparation process. 3 stars for flavor, but 5 star for service.
OMG!!! Love from the very first step inside AMORINO. Literally, its the best ice cream I have ever had in my entire life!!! Real Italian spot on Upper West! Stuff is super friendly! Great atmosphere, nice music, a lot of space to sit. Clean. And coffee is amazing!! When you are originally from Europe you probably know what the real coffee does taste. So this is it! I really advice you come here and try their special sorbet flavor Lime/basil!!(w little basil pieces) 🤩🤩Also add blueberry cheesecake( what taste absolutely as REAL ITALIAN CHEESECAKE!) and pistachio❤️❤️❤️Come and enjoy!
It was the best quality and taste of any vegan gelato I have ever eaten❣️There are many types of the special vegan gerato. The vegan hot chocolate was also so 😍delicious. It must be the best drink in winter. ☕️The smile of the manager was wonderful. She loves the gerato and she’s the gelato specialist. The atmosphere of the shop is very good. Off course her service was great.🤗
Amazing place, employees are the best and kind. Come here at once, the flavors are bursting in my mouth. Ratatouille would be amazed!
Delicious gelato. Ample assortment on flavors, quick service.
Average at most. Dont waste your time.
1. This is THE BEST gelato in NYC. I dont care what youve heard about certain other places in Little Italy. Nothing compares2. The flower cone. A truly unique presentation. And (guessing) maybe the gelato has to be kept colder for it to keep its form? I dont know, but IMO it changes the texture in a very pleasing way.3. Its on the Upper West side. Its a bit more $ than downtown. Get over it. Its worth it.If youre visiting NYC in the vicinity of Lincoln Center, Museum of Natural History, Strawberry Fields, or the like . . . get off the beaten Broadway and Columbus paths and go an extra block to Amsterdam. Well worth it.Also, they have chocolates, biscotti, macarons, and other delights. The macarons are ok, but filled with gelato . . . makes everything right
Love it!! Wishing we have one on the UES
Love this place. Have only been twice but its a nice place to relax. Some of the employees are legit Italian too which is super cool. Adds a layer of authenticity. The items are reasonably priced ( NYC standards), the portions generous. The coffee is soooo good. I got a single shot macchiato with a splash of oat milk and my gosh --- almost felt like I was at the spa. The music is decent. Atmosphere is cozy. The employees are really friendly and they remember you too. This Amorino brings a European hometown feel to this bustling city.
Amazing place employies are sooooo kind. Flavors are spectacular. Even Ratatouille would be jealous.
I LOVE this spot! I just recently stopped by to take my niece here for some ice cream (again lol). (Ive been here about 4 times). The flavors that Ive sampled were all amazing. Im crushed that my favorite flavor was not on the menu when I can came this time around (August). The Honey- Lavender flavor is by far the best flavor! (PLEASE bring this flavor back). I love the cute flower shape of the ice cream on a cone ANND youre able to add as many flavors as you like! The atmosphere is so peaceful and relaxing. And get this... in the winter time you can have tea or hot chocolate with your ice cream! The service is amazing, and very patient with customers who cant seem to make up their minds of what it is exactly that theyre looking for. (me LOL) And my gosh how could I almost forget about the best part! The macaroon on top! By far the best macaroons Ive tasted, pistachio is my favorite flavor! (its made with gelato)A very kid friendly, date worthy, grand-parenty, after-movie, family oriented spot! Definitely a staple spot of mine when Im on the upper west side!Thank me later!
Gelato was so delish and almost too pretty eat! Macarons however, was a huge disappointment and I would ask for my money back if I didnt live so far. For almost $29 a box I expect my macarons to be perfectly circular... and whole. What I got was a box of a dozen with half of the macarons deformed and crumbling. Unacceptable for it to be sold like that.
Best gelatto I’ve had in the city, hands down!
Good Gelato. Very expensive - small scoop $5.25 - classic (mid-sized) pictured here is $6.45. What is special is how they pack it. They do a beautiful job making a flower of the flavors. Dont be impatient. Its worth the price just to watch them make your cone. Definitely get the four flavored classic scoop. Nothing of course compares to what you get in Italy. This is a treat, visually, and the way the flavors are layered.
Never was a fan of Gelato until I tried this place. The service was impeccable and welcoming. The flavors were rich and tasteful
Best ice-cream in the city!
Food was great and a fun time
Delicious ice cream hazelnut is the best
A wonderfully quaint dessert spot in the middle of the Upper West Side. The caramel Macarons are the best Ive ever had! They are a must get!The Gelato was incredible as well. Some live music was happening next door so we were also treated to a show. Overall: A 10/10.
Amorino is an international sensation! I first discovered them whilst living in Paris, France, and have been a fan ever since. The flavors are awesomely bold, true to their description, and you can tell that they use high quality ingredients in the production of their gelati. The multi-flavored flower petal presentation just adds to the experience, and if you top it all off with one of their gelato macarons, you’ll be on your way to sweet nirvana. Go ahead and treat yoself! You’ll be back for more.I recommend a classic cone with pistachio, hazelnut, and chocolate topped with a caramel macaron. If it’s sorbet that you’re craving, dive directly into the mango. You’re welcome.
Went during a rainstorm and Im glad I did!!! Had the vanilla and caramel flavors and it was totally delicious. Creamy, mouthwatering flavors just rolled down the tongue down into my pleasure zone of a stomach leaving me totally satisfied. Well worth it!!! 😁👍
I find it hard to think about the Gelato first because the few times Ive been here, the staff working is extremely unpleasant. Kind of takes away from the natural joy that Gelato/Ice Cream gives you... That being said the flavors here are very good. My favorites are Amarena(Cherry & Vanilla), Mint. Chocolate, Yogurt, Amarena Choc & Hazelnut/Choc... One side note I noticed they are skimpy on the Amarena, cost related? Expect a smaller portion when choosing this flavor
An ice cream shop that does not do samples. Not even one.
Im a recurring customer. Literally the best neighborhood gelato place ever! My daughter and I walk here since we live in the neighborhood when we need our gelato craving fixed lol. Customer service is amazing and very friendly. One time they ran out of cherries for the Amerina flavored gelato (my favorite one) the owner went all the way down to the basement and opened a brand new jar of cherries for me...very kind of him to do that. I love the flower shape gelato when you order it on a cone. Nothing negative to say about this place, only positive. I just absolutely love everything about this place! Great gelato flavors and macaroons, great customer service, clean establishment, owner is from Italy and very friendly. You will love your experience here and youll want to come back for more! Guaranteed! 5 stars across the board!
Me and my husband go there every time and try as many flavors as we want and today one of the cashier got us really upset by telling us the maximum is 4 flavors.we left without buying the ice cream. We came all the way from westchester county
The best ice cream 🍦. PERIOD
Fantastic flavors of gelato with layers of flavor.
Nice and clean.. and the customer service is spot on!
This is a gelato and ice cream place that you can honestly expect to not let you down. From just a quick look, you can tell the ingredients and effort put into making these flavors immerse are fresh and even custom. Instead of just a name given to each flavor, there’s even a small description for most of them of where it came from, such as the Coconut flavor from Sri Lanka or Chocolate flavor from Ecuador. Made with such love, the staff even makes your snack into a flower shape if you order the cone and is so pleasing to the eye. What also caught me attention was how they do not limit how many flavors you can choose from and with such a variety, their is truly something for everyone. Make sure to try the chocolate, vanilla with chocolate chunks flavor, passion fruit, coffee, and strawberry. Truly a treat and definitely worth the $8 for a custom made cornetto classic cone!
Great sorbet!
After reading so many good reviews, I went there with big expectations. Its a nice cozy store, with friendly staff, and ice cream is good, too. But.. let me just say that I had better ice cream at more than a few places within last three months. Taste is subjective, so give it a try, you may like it more than I do.
Beautiful & tasteful ice cream lend to a truly unique experience.Makes for great memories :)
Tiny delicate ice cream
Great Gelato and crepes!
The presentation is amazing the roses on the cones wow! The macrons filled with gelato are fantastic! Overall a very cozy and cute environment with spectacular staff members. It was an overall GREAT experience!!!🍧
The. Best. In. NY. I lived in Italy. This is the only place that compares. Except in Italy, they didn’t let you choose so many flavors. So this is better. I bring EVERYONE here.
I liked Amorino, anywhere in nyc. Flavors are wide range and macaroons are awesome. Staff here is good. We went @night so was not heavily crowded unlike the one in midtown. Just go ahead and have some good deserts.
Fantastic ice cream
Love the mouth-watering flavors, European feel.
Love the pistachio
Delicious ice cream. A bit pricey. Very good-looking Italian male waitstaff.
Great surprise! Lovely flower shaped delicious gelato, and very pleasant staff. The location also is very inviting.
