Loved this place for breakfast, good prices, good customer service, they are on top of the rules and guidelines in NYC about vaccination cards and very clean. Love the kaiser roll for breakfast with egg, ham and cheese. I got transported to when I used to live in NY, here in Florida you dont find places like that. Sadly but true. I bet lunch is good too but we didnt have to chance to go back for it. Close to the hotel, very convenience. We will back again next time we go and visit the city.

I’d stay away from the wings. Too fried and not a lot of meat. Bison burger and chicken souvlaki were OK though. Had an omelette it wasn’t anything special. Maybe late night after beers it would be appetizing.

A brilliant, reasonably priced breakfast with real maple syrup on the table! Eggs were cooked perfectly. Waffle was tasty. Pancakes were fluffily amazing. English muffins were huge. Classic comfortable diner atmosphere with quick, efficient service. Highly recommended East Side gem.

We ate breakfast here 4 of the 6 days we were in the city to see family. They were right around the corner from our hotel. Great staff, excellent food. I would go out of my way to eat here again. Thank you for taking care of us.

The food is very good and I love that it is opened 24h. Because of this, I was able to have breakfast early before my plans to get to know New York. Be careful because the dishes have more than enough food, so maybe with one dish youll be ok!

Delicious food. We had breakfast several times. Their house made vegetable cream cheese is sooo good on my perfectly toasted bagel. Coffee was yum and my cup was never empty. The French toast also perfectly executed. Staff was very accommodating, prices a fair value.

Very nice breakfast! The omelet and home fries were great and to my surprise, the coffee was on point. Will return next time I am staying in that part of the city.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside quaint and simple but it’s the place to go for an inexpensive breakfast .The menu was HUGE & the options were vast which is great. The portions were pretty big good bang for your buck. My boyfriend got the grilled chicken and mozzarella omelette with fries & toast and I got the avocado spinach and Swiss omelette with a English muffin as a substitute and they were both extremely delicious not overly expensive like a lot of places in New York but high quality food non the less and good customer service. Would come back.

A fantastic place! Morning Star Cafe is an old time NYC diner, run in a modern way by skilled, friendly & warmhearted staff (many of them immigrants, great, hardworking, nice people). Food is excellent, service is impeccable, charming & personal. The place attracts a lot of locals & regulars, real characters that adds to the homey charm. As long as there are places like Morning Star Cafe, gentrification hasnt killed the warm NYC sprit.

When you find yourself here for breakfast two days in a row, you know you’ve found a good spot. The food is excellent, hearty portion sizes, great prices, and all the staff are unbelievably nice. Will be returning for breakfast whenever I’m in the city. Definitely recommend trying out Morning Star if you’re in the area!

Breakfast 2 days over our recent visit. 1st visit, egg bacon and cheese on bagel. Delicious. You could split it with someone and share. 2nd visit. Belgian waffle. So good! Someone else in the group had the fruit cup. Very fresh fruit. They cook your bacon the way you want. And they are fast! Amazing. Coffee was delicious. Extensive menu. Our new go-to place in NYCStaff, outstanding, friendly and polite! We didnt have to wait because NYC isnt totally open but by the time we were finished, the place was hopping. Prices very reasonable!

Place has to be decent to survive pandemic. Breakfast as expected, but on one of those hot July nights when the over priced ice cream place didnt have milk for a milk shake, Silver Star did, and it was good. Service excellent.

Supposedly open 24 hours. At 5:45 I walked in and asked when it would open. A man at the counter said, Probably 6:30.

EXCELENT attention. I came here tired and looking for a quick meal after a long journey, and I found myself chatting with the servers and ordering more food and drinks. They were both efficient and very friendly. Terrific place for breakfast and also a late night meal!

We stopped in for soup. Its was pretty standard. I would come back to try some other dishes. The prices pretty good for the area. I would give it a 4.5 if I could.

Service was good and the portions were plentiful. It has a nice atmosphere with that New York charm. Would definitely recommend their pancakes and eggs!

Without a doubt some of the best late-night food that money can buy. I order from here at least once a week, especially when Ive been out slamming drinks until 1am at the bar on my block. Something about a little one-two combo of a matzo ball soup and a BEC on an English muffin absolutely shreds when youre starving but also really struggling to stay awake. Morning Star, Im here for it and Im here for you.

I would have given give 5 stars because the food was great. They lost a star because I take issue with refilling Archer Farms maple syrup bottles with whatever coagulated sweet goo that was...it certainly was not real syrup. When I come across something like this, its hard not to question if other corners are being cut. Regardless, the rest of the food was enjoyable.

For the price it isnt bad. Eggs were overdone. The bagel and cream cheese were done well though, the waffles too. Service is slow, but again for the price not bad.

Service was a little slow this morning, but the place was packed. Food is delicious and portions are generous. Awesome little place! Better for small groups or individuals, large groups can be difficult to accommodate due to size of the space: there were six of us and we split between two small booths next to each other. But the experience was great AND they have almond milk!

Charged differently then was on the menu. Got a coffee, under $2, cool. my girlfriend got apple juice was was charged 3 and change, then a dollar extra for a large! we didn’t ask for that nor were offered sizes. Bacon was horribly over cooked.

Love Morning Star diner. I used to live nearby and that was my go-to place for meals. Went back after ages and place hasnt changed. Great food, awesome hospitality.

We wanted a quick bite to eat after a concert &saw this was close to our hotel.Very quick service as we were immediately seated and given our menus. The waiter took our order pretty quickly & then our food was probably out within like 10 minutes after that (it was also not crowded at all in the diner so that may example &helped with it being such fast service). Overall, the food was typical diner food (we both ordered omelettes) and was tasty. Good go-to place, especially late at night.

This place is awesome! It is worth nothing less than 5 stars. The food quality is really good and the portion is huge! The staffs are friendly, we got refills on our milkshake and they customized my brother’s order as he liked it. This is a Cobb salad I had and highly recommend it.

Great food... ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. The food is delicious but not one employee checks to see if the order was right, if the customer needs more coffee or simply of there is anything else the customer needs. When you ask for something as simple as water.. The response is silence and they get you a glass of water.. As most people would agree, I would rather go somewhere, where the food is good, but the service is excellent.. Here the service is abysmal.

Found on Google maps and gave it a go, was the best decision ever made ended up going every morning for breakfast. Great food great service and really quick too. Highly recommend.

Went here for breakfast and was grateful we did! It was quick, delicious, and well worth it. We had to wait a minute for a table because they were packed but it was so good. The wait was fantastic by being super quick with our food and any refills we needed.

We visited New York recently on vacation and stayed in Midtown. Every morning, finding a good breakfast (that wasnt just a pastry or trendy quiche) seemed to be a challenge until we found this place. Its a straight forward diner with EXCELLENT breakfast food. The staff couldnt be more efficient and polite. I just loved coming in here the last two mornings of our visit. Definitely made the start of our days that much better.

Farmers omelette and coffee. I’ve had omelette at a couple of other diners in Manhattan and the omelette was always on the dry side. Not here—and it came loaded with sausage and bacon and cheese, more meat than egg :) Definitely worth future visits.
