They did an excellent job, same day service!Update: Have since gone back to deal with a starting issue (during that terribly cold week this winter), and an oil change. They were able to diagnose the battery issue very quickly, and have not had any issues since.Honest assessments, quality work, reasonable prices, and very fast service. These guys are the best!

As a former mechanic I find myself critical of the service I typically get when having my vehicle serviced. I have been fortunate enough to locate Hayford Auto to ease my vehicular anxieties. My mother and I once brought her car in out of convenience, and after experiencing the vastly superior quality of Hayfords service I will be recommending no other. Complicated or simple, my experience has been that Hayfords personnel hit the proverbial bullseye each time and wont take an arm and a leg for the privilege.

Service was ok. Price for oil change was good. None of the technicians were wearing masks even with Covid-19 surge happening locally. I had to call them multiple times to see if the car was ready for pick up. They didnt update on what they did to the car until I came to pick it up. Also, was rushing me to get the car because they were ready to close even though would have picked it up way earlier had I know it was ready. Not as warm and friendly as mentioned in other posts. Did explain which type of oil would be best for the car.

They do really good work, are very friendly, fully explain the work that needs to be done, and do it all at a reasonable price. I have used them multiple times for a few years now, and I always go back because they have been reliable, fair, and always get the work done quickly. Highly recommended!

This place is great! They offer highly competent mechanics and quality/timely service. They diagnosed the bump in my front end quickly and professionally. I needed to have a tie rod replaced in October of 2019, and Hayford did what was needed, and only what was needed, to get me back on the road safely. Since tie rods are a potentially big safety issue, they also squeezed me in to their already tight schedule on the same day I brought in the car. Thanks guys! My car continues to operate well.

Great little shop.My Alternator died on me on my way to work.Had to push it 4 blocks and had to wait an hour before it could run. Drove it over to Hayford Auto Repair was able to get it into the lot before it died again.When they opened they were able to get it in and see what was wrong with it while I went to work.Called me not too long my after with a price of the parts and labor that was very reasonable, and was even able to tack on a much needed oil change without much notice to them.Was able to pick it up after work and it runs like a dream!Thanks Hayford Auto!

I’ve had 2 GREAT experience there. One time I couldn’t start my car before a job interview... they replaced the alternator and had me on the road fast enough that I made my interview on time! Ive been to several shops in the metro, and this is the best Ive been to. The shop itself doesnt look pristine, but the guys there work extremely hard to make sure their customers are satisfied. Haji and Jon were especially helpful. In one instance, they quoted me a very competitive price ($600 less than another shop) and once they started the repairs they found an alternative solution that saved me even more ($900 less than two other shops)! Theyve proved consistently that they have my best interest in mind, and their 1 year warranty guarantees they do quality work. Highly recommend these guys!

I went to Hayford when my engine was misfiring on and off. On a Saturday afternoon, they called in the Toyota specialist, and not only diagnosed my car, but completed the repair that day for a very reasonable price. While I was there, one of the workers saw my s,ashes rear bumper and said that they could replace it. When I asked how much he thought it would be, his quote was less than half what I had expected. I will definitely be back here.

We hadnt been back to Hayford since it was sold, but we needed some work done due to a check engine light and we came in to check it out. The staff was friendly, knowledgable and flexible. They did the work in short order and when we looked at the receipt we noticed they replaced the crankshaft sensor and not the camshaft sensor. We called them immediately and they were very kind and wanted to stand by their work. They came in on Saturday morning and reached out to dealerships to get the appropriate part so we could get back on the road by Saturday evening! They didnt charge us extra, were truly apologetic about the mistake and worked hard to make it sure it was rectified. So thankful to have such an honest, hard-working and genuine business and neighbor. We will be regular customers!

Samuel was super rude and he lied to me! The mechanics broke two wheels studs! I had a leaking transmission 18 months later.The transmission on my Corolla failed. I had it towed to Hayford’s Auto. I talked with Samuel Mulari, he’s the owner, a thin guy from Somalia. We agreed that the mechanics would have a look and decide if the transmission could be saved, and someone would call me.THIS NEVER HAPPENED! No one ever called me! I went to check on the car. Surprise! They replaced the transmission and wrote a HUGE bill for me!I got into an argument with Samuel. I told Samuel he broke his word, he was a liar and a cheater! Samuel was BEYOND RUDE! He acted like I didn’t even have a right to my own opinion! And he said his guys would pull the transmission they put in, which was just an empty threat.He said he would call the police. I replied, “Please do call the police! I’ll tell them the same story I just told you. They will actually listen to me! And I’ll tell them you need to be deported back to Somalia!”Samuel left at his usual closing time. He was completely callous and unfeeling.In the end, I needed the car to get to work. I was not working for THREE DAYS, and not making any money. I talked with Mohammed Haji, who goes by Haji. He was one of the mechanics. (I hope he gets a better job, with a nice manager.) Haji was nice and understanding, but he could not do anything about the situation.More Problems:They did not change the axle seals! I talked with Michael, who is a mechanic in Prior Lake. And Michael said, “Whenever I replace a transmission, I always replace the axle seals.”When an axle seal gets old and dry, the transmission fluid will leak out. And that’s the end of the transmission.I called back and said they were supposed to replace the transmission seals when they worked on the transmission. Samuel wanted to charge me extra! I told him the same thing all over again. He backed down and the mechanics replaced the transmission seals.Broken Wheel Studs:Just two months later, the front, passenger wheel started shaking! That was scary!I stopped the car and had a look. Two of the wheel studs had broken!George, the tow truck driver, said the mechanics at Hayford’s use an air gun to tighten the lug nuts, which has 300 foot pounds of torque! They were supposed to tighten the lug nuts by hand, to just 80 foot pounds of torque. The air gun stretches the wheel studs and then they are likely to snap. He also said, “But it would be really hard to prove. If you call them and explained what happened, they will just deny it.”Leaking Fluid:After 18 months, the transmission fluid was leaking! The transmission they installed was USED. And with parts from a junk yard, there is no telling how many miles it ran or how long it will last.I replaced the fluid myself, but it was a huge pain to get the two drain bolts open! I had to use a hydraulic jack, because the two drain bolts were practically welded in place!I added new transmission fluid, but it was too late. One of the bearings ran too long without fluid. Now, when I drive the car, I can hear that transmission bearing grinding away, and its just a matter of time before that bearing fails.The transmission warranty was for 12 months. So Im just out of luck here.One of the mechanics could * easily * have broken those two drain bolts loose with an air gun. But, of course, they were not thinking ahead.And for all the money I paid, they should have installed a NEW TRANSMISSION! But Samuel only cares about money. He does not care about his customers or his mechanics. He doesnt even care to clean the super filthy bathroom.I have since learned:Get an estimate of any repairs IN WRITING before you authorize the work.In Minnesota, the mechanic or auto shop can charge no more than 10 percent of the estimate.I recommend you take your car to a NICE AND RELIABLE MECHANIC, or a shop with a solid reputation.Dealing with Samuel Mulari was an absolutely miserable experience!
