I dont take my car anywhere else!Mike and the team are so kind, smart, experienced, and helpful. They are so focused on the customer you immediately feel like family. They always explain my options, educate me on what each of them look like and would be priced at, and then let me decide the route I want to take. Theyre never pushy, never condescending or rush me, and consistently focus on *helping*. I trust them to the moon and back!

Northwest Tire are the mechanics I trust in the twin cities. They get the job done right, usually done fast, and done for a fair price. There were opportunities they could have upsold me on services that werent worth it but they were always honest and would tell me when something wasnt worth the money and effort. Great crew to work with.

I went in because of a nail in my tire. Everyone there was friendly and efficient. They did not try to sell me on a new tire or set of tires. They were honest and kind. I observed interactions with a variety of customers while waiting the short time it took to patch my tire and was impressed with the friendliness and general good will. I will definitely go back.

This is just a great place of business. All my many experiences there have been positive. They are thoughtful about providing value to their customers. Example: I brought my old 2001 Mazda Protege in many times, and finally after I had it for 15 years, the mechanic said, Dont put any more money into this car. It has too many problems. Junk it or donate it. If you buy another car, bring it in and well do an inspection. I did so. I just got another used car and they did an inspection and found a problem with cracks in the serpentine belt. I brought it back to the dealership and they replaced it for free. You can be sure I will be bringing my new car to Northwestern for maintenance and repair.

About 3 months ago, I bought a used van. The other day, the Service Required light on my control panel came on. I made an appointment with NW Tire, bracing for the worst. A few hours after dropping my van off, I got a call that it just needed an oil change! Sweet! They could have said just about anything, charged me whatever, and I wouldve been none the wiser. 👍🏽

Hands down the best mechanic shop! When we moved to the neighborhood I brought my car here because it was the closest option, little did I know they would be the best. Justin and Mike are awesome, and everyone else Ive interacted with there has been knowledgeable and friendly. They found some issues with one of our cars and informed us they were under recall. They didnt charge us a penny, and even recommended a good dealership where everything was fixed for free. Every time we bring our cars here (we drive older cars), the problem is fixed the first time, for a reasonable price, and quickly. I have had few positive experiences with mechanics in the past. These people are great, I cannot recommend them enough.

Best mechanic shop in area! I used to be a mechanic and usually do my own stuff but when its a small thing I bring it to them and they are super helpful and very knowledgeable about everything. I will use them everytime!

Always helpful and always seem to have exactly what I need in stock: car, truck, semi, and trailer tires. They do the work quick as well. They have a mobile service team as well. If you end up having an issue and cant actually get to them, they come to you. Used the mobile service a couple times and they are also super friendly and helpful.

I came in for a standard oil change today and they found a nail in one of my tires. They took it off and patched it up for no charge! I will definitely be coming back here for all my future oil changes! And everyone is super friendly.

Two excellent experiences here. One last year for my tires (getting them patched) and the other today for my transmission. The service is great, the team communicates exactly what theyve done and what theyre doing in easy to understand terms. As long as I live in the neighborhood, Ill be coming here.

When you have to fix your car, there isnt another place that will make you feel better about where you spent your money. Their service work is great, their prices are fair and youll like working with them. Theyre great at prioritizing the repairs that need to be done.

Great service fixing my flat. Same day repair no appt. Dropped my flat tire off and came back later and they put it back on my car. (I had the spare donut tire on my car.) Even gave me a discount for being a first time customer.

These guys have been so great that I consider myself lucky to have moved so nearby. Ive been there twice, both times for tire trouble. First time they repaired my tire quickly and cheaply. The second time I thought I had a puncture, but didnt. Pressure was just low in all the tires due to sudden temperature change. They filled up all my tires and sent me away without charge! An auto repair place you can trust, and so conveniently located (just a few blocks west of Twins Stadium in a safe, quiet light industrial area). We just got a junker for commuting and it will need a few hundred dollars worth or work. Ill happily be bringing it to the guys at Northwestern Tire for repair.

Brought my truck in to replace “one” tire. As I waited and talked to the guy upfront, he tells me my truck is is common to break down from spark plugs. All of sudden, he tells me it will take 2 hours to fix “one” tire. So they force me to leave. The company calls me 3 hours later and tells me my truck is good to go. I come back and get my truck. Guess what happened the next day? Yup. You guessed it, my truck breaks down due to spark plugs. My truck has never broke down on me till now. I’m pretty sure they did something to my truck to try to make me come back. Don’t make the same mistake I did people. Be careful! Also cost $200 for one tire. One tire guys. Great job Northwestern tires for ruining my truck, and for ruining your reputation.

Wow. Customer service is just on-point at Northwestern Tire Co.To say I was overdue for a tire rotation is an understatement, but I finally decided to adult like a champ today, and I brought the Jeep in to get the tires rotated.I called a few other places in and around the downtown area - one place told me they needed my car all day. Ok, Im a girl, but I know a little bit about cars. A tire rotation takes an hour... not 8. Another place wanted to charge way too much $$$.This place? Fast and affordable. I dropped my Jeep off around 8:15 this morning, and I got a call before 9 letting me know that she was all done! Drives like a champ.The staff is friendly, and honest, and I would absolutely go here again for basic car maintenance needs.

I had to go here on a whim, as my brakes went out and they were the closest- I will be going here from now on for whatever I need!The service was amazing, they were very friendly and extremely honest! I always worry when going to a new mechanic that I will go in for a $90 repair and end up paying $400 - BUT, they did as they promised and were very very reasonably priced and my car runs like a dream! I moved to St. Paul recently but will still try and do business with Northwestern as much as I can. Very courteous and honest workers. I have never felt pressured to do any additional services. Quick and reliable work. I started coming here because the Firestone on 11th & Hawthorne scammed me out of thousands of dollars with services after services that actually never even addressed the root problem my previous vehicle had. A little bit further from downtown, but a nice walk or quick bus ride away using the 9 Route which has a bus stop across the street. Please give these guys your business, theyre excellent and affordable!

Absolutely amazing service! They communicate clearly, have things done on time and do not talk to me in a condescending way at all! They have been generous when something broke and it was only partially their fault. Reasonablly priced. Above all fantastic service!

One star is too generous.... I was having trouble with my car getting hot and my check engine light came on after my last car wash and ran very rough. I was told that my distributor must have gotten wet that is why I had the miss fire from the car wash. First of all my car doesnt have a distributor it has a coil pack. Strike one... They also could not get my car to over heat and it got hot the very next day. Strike Two.... I also had a slow leak in one of my tires, they fixed the seal and left grease all over my tire, lost my custom valve stem cap and tightened my tire so tight I have no idea how it will come off without striping the bolts. Strike three...

They were able to service my car the very next day. They performed what was needed. Alerted me of any concerns but didnt press and didnt try to get me to service anything on the car I didnt need.

When I moved right down the road, I was excited to have this place so close. It was quick to make an appt., decently priced, everyone at the front desk was very polite and didnt try to up-sell every little thing. I was pleased to not be going to a large corporation and support kind people. In my time living on that side of town, I brought two cars to them and recommended them to others after my first few good experiences. When I got my new/used car, I knew it received much maintenance before I came to own it, all of which where done in another state. I went in to get an oil change and remembered that I had noticed the coolant was low and asked if they had any I could purchase. The man at the counter graciously said that he would make sure the mechanics would top it off for me. When the mechanic came out, I asked a few questions, now, I know I may not have used proper vehicle terminology to express my minor concerns about new belts possibly being loose and specifically not charging the battery, but the one mechanic I spoke to replied in a very condescending manner and blew off my question. Apparently cars are supposed to do whatever I was concerned about. The guy at the front asked if the mechanic had made sure to top off my coolant. The mechanic went as far as to go out to my car, pop open the hood, check, then come back and say it was fine... Why he went through the trouble, I dont know, the thing was untouched when I double checked maybe 10 minutes after. A week later, my concerns proved to be true with the belts as well. I had a friend help me instead. Months went by and I went to give this place another try, justifying that everyone has bad days especially when one works a lot and risks burning out, this should not be a full reflection of the establishment. So, I brought in my car again for another oil change, the same mechanic was there again, though he didnt seem to recognize me. After, I did not double check right away because I had to run to work, but maybe a week or two after, I went to top off my washer fluid and found my hood latch to be broken. My car had not been hit, nor was the hood opened at all during this time, it could have just been a freak accident and not their fault at all, but this is my experience. Take it as you may. I have not gone back since and no longer recommend it.As a side note, my friend is a licensed mechanic that I trade with for work, therefore, I trust his judgement, and I know how to do everything I took my car in for, but dont have a place to do it currently so this was purely for convenience and to support local businesses.
