I have been taking my 2006 volvo here for years(since 2012/13?). I trust them wholeheartedly. They are honest, caring, personable and wonderful. I started coming at about 120k and have 225k on my car. I know two other families that deal with Prof automotive and has been for years as well. I will stay with them forever!! FOREVER!!! because I trust them that much.

Let me give an example. Bear with me.I go to School at Berry College in Rome, GA. I have an ’05 Volvo S40 that I got used, and right now its sitting at about 115k miles. Professional Auto Repair is the place my whole family uses, and Phillip knows me and my car very well at this point.One afternoon, my car absolutely went out on me less than a mile from Berry, and I had no idea what to do. Since I was about an hour and a half from Phillip, I went ahead trying to find a decent place in Rome and had it towed there. I asked around, found a place with good reviews that had been around for a while, and brought my car over.When I brought it in, they guys there were pretty optimistic the issue wasn’t that bad, and that the cost wouldn’t be that expensive. The next day, surprise surprise, I got a call saying the issue was way worse than they originally thought, and I had a cracked timing belt and a cracked valve. They told me the new cost was going to be in the thousands, much greater than the value of my car. I got my dad to give them a call, because let’s be honest nobody is going to give a college student a straight answer with car troubles. The owner gladly told him to give Phillip a call and get a second opinion, so that’s just what we did.When Phillip heard what was going on, he immediately gave me a list of questions to ask the mechanic in Rome. The answers he gave mostly checked out, but it really gave Phillip a bad feeling about the whole situation. Phillip ended up recommending we bring the car back to him not to make money on the car, he just didn’t want to see us waste our money.When my dad called the garage owner in Rome, he said the car was already partially torn apart. He told him to put it back together on his dime and we were going to have it towed the next day.Sure enough, when Phillip got ahold of my car he found the real issue in just a few hours. Turns out I only had a bad ignition coil, which he said was a know issue with that make and model. So for ~1/10th the cost of what the other guy quoted me I had my car back up and running great, and I got to avoid the huge headache of shopping for a new car!I called the owner of the garage in Rome and told him the outcome. He was quiet. I said to him he owed me back the $200 spent at his garage in credit. As he started to make excuses, I informed him it didn’t really matter, because he wouldn’t see that car or us again.The bottom line is Phillip and Professional Automotive Repair is a trustworthy, quality group of people. They know their business. They will always have my business and I gladly refer them to other people I know.

I called and asked about some starting issues I was having. The guy I talked to was extremely helpful over the phone, and offered to fit me into their schedule quickly. It ended up being a bad solenoid, which they took the time to explain what that was, how much the replacement is, and their repair rates.If you need a trustworthy mechanic definitely try here!

Phil and his crew were amazing. He diagnosed the issue with Jeep Cherokee which was my car burning through oil at an excessive rate and causing my car to stop while driving. He is going above and beyond to make sure that my warranty will cover this issue by having a follow up to ensure that we can prove it’s my car and my warranty will cover any other issues due to the defective engine. Such a nice guy and I would recommend him 10/10.

Its been over 7 years since Ive gone to them, but they were great maintaining my Volvo V-70. I imagine they still do just as good a job now, I just dont drive a car that they would maintain, otherwise Id go to them again.

A year ago I had my Volvo ‘08 C70 tuned up at an auto shop near my home. Soon after the engine started misfiring and was told by same shop 2 cylinders were cracked and a new engine was required (+$5k). While seeking a second opinion I came across Professional Auto Repair in Marietta. Phillip, GM, and his team determined the problem was two cracked spark plugs! ($10). One year later and the car is operating great. Just had some additional maintenance work done by PAR and could not be happier. Shop is now under a new owner, Mark, who seems to be very personable and engaged. Combined with a very knowledgeable and trustworthy GM in Phillip plus experienced mechanics, I highly recommend Professional Auto Repair. This group is the real deal!

Several lights on my 2010 subaru outback suddenly went on and I went to the nearest, highest rated auto repair shop which was Professional Repair. NOte my car was still driving fine. First they told me that my purge valve was broken and they purchased the part of $46 and replaced it for an additional $144. I drove away happy but then the lights came on again less than 3 miles away. I returned and they told me that I needed a new Transmission at a cost of nearly $8,000! I asked how that could be when the car was driving well. They said it was only a matter of time. I left and the lights soon stopped flashing. My car is still driving fine. My experience with this shop was terrible and they certainly did not live up to the high ratings given by other clients. Dont take a subaru there as they do not know what they are doing!!
