Been going to the guys at Ekart for years. Very easy to deal with and no complaints.

We love Ekart - they always make room for us/our vehicles in a timely manner. They are thorough, trustworthy, and always the most reasonably priced. I always feel confidant that we got excellent work for a very fair price.

I had to get a few things on my car fixed and still had the same acceleration problem after picking up my car and paying for the work. Part of this was they replaced my a/c, which still works. They also replaced the driveshaft and transfer case, which did nothing. When I told the shop they didn’t fix my acceleration problem, they basically told me I could pay them to do more to my car after I had just wasted upwards of $2000. Basically told me the next option was to pay them $3000+ for a transmission. They replaced my driveshaft because it was supposedly bad, but didn’t keep my old driveshaft to prove this. Aside from that, I was not only told no one even drove my car to test the repair, which I found out because a piece of plastic (that was fine before I brought my car there initially) was very obviously hanging off the car and you could feel it while driving the car. So then I go back for them to look at this and when I picked up my car again outside of their hours, they didn’t notice for 2-3 days and had to text and ask if it was me who took it, if it wouldn’t have been me whoever had it would’ve been long gone. I understand they’re busy and mistakes happen, it would’ve been fine if they had been helpful, but instead they didn’t care at all and basically told me tough luck. I believe they chose to take advantage of the fact that I was a young girl who didn’t know much.

Found a way to squeeze my repair in the same day despite being super busy and being one mechanic short. Being broken down off I70 is not fun but these guys helped me out a lot! Great service!

These guys were great! Was able to make an appointment within a very reasonable time frame. They were friendly, and professional. I had my car serviced for a simple oil change. It was done fast and everyone there was extremely polite and nice. Deffently a good place to get your car looked at and fixed.

Fair price quick service. They were quick in and out. I dropped off went to woe and received a text about 2 hours later. Picked it up at the end of the day. All around great experience and prices fair.

I would not recommend anyone take their car here they charged me a bunch of money to fix my AC and still didnt fix it and messed something else up too tried to get more money out of me by saying my cooling fan was out which I knew wasnt and tried to tell me they would give me a discount on replacing the cooling fan which is bull mess they shouldnt charged me for the work they did on my AC because they did not fix it! I took it to another shop to have my cooling fan checked out they said Elkharts lied there was nothing wrong with my cooling fan. I reached out to the manager and informed them how unpleased about my experience at Elkhart he didnt care or even apologize. This sadden me as someone who grew up on that side of town I tried to put my money im the small business in that area but I will never again.

Always fast service and reasonable pricing. They tell you whats wrong and dont charge for stuff out the wazoo.

My radiator and AC were messed up and I shopped around manhattan and Ekart was the only business who got back to me quickly and made time for me. They had me bring in my car the very next day and they had it done in about five hours to get a new radiator and oil change and other smaller stuff done to my engine. These guys are great!

The fellas here helped me out in a pinch, and changed my breaks that day. All in all, it was about 3 hours from when I dropped off my vehicle, until they were done. Awesome service, and a fair price.

Everything was good until they rejected a quick look at our car that they serviced it a few days before. All I wanted to know was if its safe to drive and thats it.

In 2017, my car battery kept draining and I took my car to several different shops around town but they couldnt figure out the issue. One shop wanted to charge me $1300 to fix a washer fluid leak, which they said was causing my battery to drain. Finally, I took my car to Ekart and they fixed whatever was actually wrong with my car for a couple hundred dollars. Ive been taking my car to them ever since. They always communicate well about what I need to expect with cost and repair, and I feel like Im getting honest service.

These guys really care about their customers. They do great work and charge a fair price. They communicate and even check back in a few days to see if your car is doing well.

My car broke down on I-70 on the way back from denver to missouri. I got it towed to this place at midnight and got up first thing to have it checked out. They checked it out free of charge and first thing in the morning and told me I needed a new engine. They were extremely nice and didn’t charge me a single penny. I ended up getting a Uhaul and getting the car back to my hometown but if I did have them put a new engine in, I would’ve felt 100% safe and would have a paid a fair price. Thank you guys so much!

When I first moved to Manhattan I would usually shop around and get quotes from at least 2 auto repair shops whenever I had to have work done. Ekart always was the lowest price, so after doing that for about a year, I have only been going to Ekart since. While they will inform me if they noticed anything else that needs to be fixed, I have never felt pressured to fix a laundry list of items they found while just doing an oil change. I have never felt cheated and feel like they have always been straight forward with me

Great shop. They are trustworthy. They fix things right the first time. They dont try to up-sale you on the bill either. One of the best shops that Ive ever dealt with. We have 5 cars (3 kids cars), so we regularly need a mechanic!

Terrible customer service. They barely looked at me when I dropped off my car. Someone just handed me a piece of paper to fill out and continued talking to the other co-workers. They then forgot to call when my car was ready. When I picked up the car, they didnt even apologize or give me any information about the oil change itself.

I was in a time crunch,and Ray his crew had my truck repaired and back to me before they had promised it. The truck drove flawlessly! Great job, Ray.

Took my second car in for repairs while I took a summer trip to my hometown just to get a phone call that my car was “missing” & they have no idea when it was taken. They even laughed on the phone while explaining everything, I called RCPD & the officer told me they thought I stole my own car back. It is completely humiliating to have a mechanic think I’m a criminal just because THEY lost my car smh never again.

Best shop in town and the only one we trust to work on our cars. Prices are great and they are always quick with repairs and service.

10/10 recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Great service at a great price. My first experience with these guys was a year ago when the AC quit in my car. Being a young single girl, I was worried about going to a place where they’d take advantage of my lack of knowledge and assume I wouldn’t be the one paying for the expenses. I’d been to one other shop in town and that seemed to be their MO. I went to these guys for a 2nd opinion and I’m so glad that I did. They were willing to try a simpler fix at no cost and see how it did before jumping in to the more expensive one. It ended up having to go with the more costly repair, but I was fully trusting with them at that point. They texted me numerous times this last year to make sure my car was still doing okay as well. I ended up having to have another repair a few weeks ago and of course these guys got me in right away and had it fixed up in a day.My grandpa/uncle have a repair shop in my hometown, so I was apprehensive to have anybody work on my car other than them. But these guys give that same small town family business feel. No longer needing to find time to make a trip “home” just to have my oil changed is pretty nice. Terry and his guys are truly great.

I have really enjoyed their experience. They have been really friendly and they work with me always. Ray is the person whom I always go to and he is always there for me. Him and the guys have my back and I know that I can count on them and trust them all. I would recommend this place very much to many others, as I already do just that.

The guys here have been very very quiet very very helpful. My girlfriend bought the car for cash. They stood behind anything that went wrong with it the first couple of weeks did their best to remedy the situation. I would get them all my business because they were so well involved in the cell of the car. And they stand behind the vehicles they sell.

Communication and pricing are reasonable and the work performed on my car was excellent.I have a 1977 Corvette that needed some work done that unfortunately I had not enough time to do myself. I called up and spoke with Tim on the phone and he had me in with the car on the next business day to have it looked at. There are other shops in the area but they all said that it would be more than a months wait to even look at the car to see if they agreed with the problems I presented and never got a call back.I came in with a list of work that needed to be done on the old car to include power steering, exhaust, transmission leaks, in-cab vent issues, non-functional windshield wiper switch, brake line checks, and rear/parking brake replacement and repair. Finding all the replacement parts and performing the work on a job that size took them less than three weeks, which is far faster than I would have expected from the depth of work being performed. Ive had the car out a few times in the week Ive had it back and it runs very smoothly, the vents actually push air, my wipers turn on, and my garage floor is completely dry. I could not be happier with the service that was performed on the car.In response to the issues of communication that Ive noticed from other reviews, these guys are busy working on many cars and fixing issues. Communication is a two-way street, when there were issues that they didnt forsee I received a phone call from the shop and otherwise I checked in on the car once a week until it was done. Staff was always incredibly friendly and willing to answer any questions and concerns I had with the vehicle.TL;DR: I would highly recommend this automotive repair shop when looking for a reasonably priced, hard-working, and knowledgeable crew to fix your vehicle.

The guys at Ekart Automotive are top notch! My jeep was fixed much sooner than I thought it would be. They even offered to park it in the shop overnight while my window was unable to roll up. In the short time that I was there, I dealt with three different employees. Each one truly cared and took the time to listen. Great group of guys and a great shop to have your vehicle worked on. I have taken my vehicle to Elkhart Automotive for maintenance and oil changes on multiple occasions over the past two years and each time has been a good experience. The staff is very friendly and does a good job of explaining what work needs to be done and they give accurate estimates on what costs I would be looking at for repairs. They are very accommodating on scheduling, especially in short notice situations when problems have occurred with my vehicle, and they have always gotten my vehicle back to me in a timely fashion. Highly recommended.

Had our car looked at in Junction City at the Firestone for an A/C fix and said it was going to cost $2,000+ to fix it. Took our car here to get a second opinion and fixed a broken piece for $200 and A/C works great! Definitely will go back if any car problems come up in the future. Very nice and honest people here!

I have used Ekarts since moving back to Manhattan in 2004! They have always treated me well and it feels like family when you talk with them. They have been able to deliver on big jobs with a small time window. I always appreciate Ray and Terrys insights when trying to make the best decision for my families automotive repair needs!

My wife and I really trust the people at Ekhart’s over the years we have taken our vehicles there to be repaired. They have worked with us on paying off large repairs when merited. My 2000 Toyota Tundra truck is still running well, due to their excellent mechanic work.

Amazing job! I though I was screwed when I found out my car needed some serious work. But they worked with me on the finance part of it. They fixed my car in no time at all. They were all very friendly and even offered me a ride if needed. Thanks to them I have my car back and feel save driving it. I will be using them again.

Not great customer service in my experience. The service writer and mechanic disagreed on what part was causing my vehicle to die. I was inclined to agree the mechanic, who had actually done the diagnostic work. The service writer suggested that I have them replace both parts, which sounded like $$$ to me. So I took it to another shop, they replaced the part the Ekart mechanic had suggested and the car worked great. I wish they would have listened to their own mechanic, it would have saved me a tow.

Quick and friendly. Got my car in and out in the same day. They found some other stuff they could do on my car, sent me pictures of what it was and asked if it was okay if they fixed it, which I really appreciated.

Ekart was referred to my daughter by my mechanic as one that service European cars. It was a terrible experience. First visit, was only supposed to be for an oil change, daughter dropped the car and picked up that afternoon, the next day my daughters car wont start - we were told she needed a new battery (it was running fine and suddenly she needed a new battery). They installed new battery. After few months we noticed oil leak. Daughter dropped the car at 11:00 am and she was told they will call her once they are done checking. At 4:00 pm no calls. so my daughter called them and was told it will be ready in 30 mins. At 5:15 we went to pick it up and was told they only get to clean the oil but not really looked at the cause of the leak. Dropped the car again after 2 days at around 11:30 am & same thing no calls & after 5 pm we were told they didnt get to take a look at it and if we want to leave the car over the weekend & they will look at it on Monday!!! My daughters car is now having issues with acceleration and jerking which only started after going to Ekart. We are not going back there and I will never recommend this place. I will also tell my mechanic not to refer them to anybody. Oh both times they couldnt find my daughters car key because they didnt tag it. What a terrible place!

Been doing business with Ekarts since 1977 when the father owned the business. They were recommended by a neighbor who needed his vehicle for his work. As a sometimes mechanic when I was younger, I found that recommendation to be spot on.

I started going to Ekarts a few months ago. I am a student at KSU and they treated me great. They called me and told me what was wrong with my car and then called my parents to explain it to them. Very helpful and very fair pricing. My parents were impressed and that is not easily done. Will go back for sure.

I took my car in to get my check engine light fixed and got my car back the next day. They said thought they fixed the problem it if the light came back on to come back and theyd fix it without charging more labor.The light came back on and I took it in the next day and they fixed it and didnt charge me $100 more because they carried the amount I paid for labor from the first over to the second visit.Fair. Smart. Honest.

I used them when I first came to Manhattan 15 years ago and then as i moved to another part of town i started using other companies because they were closer to work but i have come full circle in a painful way to realize that these guys at Ekarts are ABSOLUTELY THE BEST. We now have our entire fleet of vehicles taken care of by them and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them.

I took my car to Ekart due to poor acceleration, and being sluggish going up hill. They stated it needed a fuel filter and an EGR Valve. Parts 139. Labor 112. Tax 21. for a total of 273. The car still had poor acceleration and was still sluggish going up the flint hills on I-70. I guess they did not test drive it. I took it to another car shop, and they found the catalytic converter was clogged, and bad. This took place on 2/24/2011. I was extremely annoyed and disappointed in their missed diagnosis and required repairs to fix the problem.

Ekarts automotive totally scammed us...Sold us a 2005 Mazda 3 for 1900,telling us they had just replaced the transmission on it with a used one but worked great.less then 2 months later the transmission went completely out..when we called ekarts about it they said they would buy it back for 1000 or fix it for 1000.We have a baby and daily responsibilities that require a car so we took a loss and they made a big gain,just to turn around and do the same to someone else...

I had some real communication problems with Ekart. They ended up fixing the problem on my car, but it was a lot more stress than it needed to be. To make a long story short, I took my car in and asked them to call me about what the problem was before they did any work on it. I got the call and told them that I would think about it. The next morning I called to tell them that I didnt want them to fix the problem and that I would be by to pick it up soon. On my way over there, I got a call from a different guy at Ekart saying that they had already done some work to the car. I had them go ahead and finish the work since they already started. Like I said, they fixed the problem but I dont feel like they were very honest with me and I wont take my car back there because of it.

My Toyota Tacoma started making banging noises & losing power so I took it to Ekart. They told me I needed a new engine--that at least two cylinders were messed up--and that it would likely cost $4300. I couldnt (nor cant) afford this, so I asked if there were any lesser work they could do just to keep it running, & they said unfortunately no. So I paid the $100 it cost to have it looked over and drove it to my parking lot. I had recently bought it, and the guy I bought it from drove out from KC, picked it up, hauled it back to KC where his mechanic checked it out, changed the plugs and plug wires, and after a total of $225 got it running smoothly again. He said the plugs, plug wires, & air filter were the only issues. Its been running like new again for two weeks. I dont know if Ekarts intentions were malicious or if it was just a mistake, but it was a mistake that would have cost me a years savings.

Service was pretty quick.Im giving this rating because the grand total of repair was almost double the initial estimate and I didnt receive a warning/notice/heads up that it was going to be substantially higher. Being shocked when I show up to pay the bill is generally not a good thing. I left feeling screwed over.Because of the latter I may shop around next time when considering vehicle repair before using Ekart again.

On my way back to Kansas City, I stopped by Ekarts because a huge piece of plastic was hanging out above my driver side tire. Terry was extremely helpful and took my car into the shop and ripped out the plastic for me. He didnt charge me anything and I was on my way back to Kansas City. I highly recommend taking your car into Ekarts!

Very poor communication, odd that this seems to be a common complaint for this business. I took my vehicle in for poor acceleration troubleshooting. They called and said they thought that it was the coil. so in addition to the troubleshooting fee,.....they charged me for 0.7 hours of labor to install an ignition coil, that my 13 year old son can do in 5 minutes. I had told them that I wanted to buy and install the part myself as I needed a warranty from autozone, as I had just replaced the coil and I didnt want to be in the same boat later. Im sure that this upset them as they wanted to get a few extra bucks for installing the part. However I did not authorize them to do this work, they did not inform me that I would be charged .7 hours to FINISH TROUBLESHOOTING and make sure that the problem was indeed the coil. The owner also refused to give me a military discount, even after I had to inform him that his website stated that they do have one.
