I took my Kia Optima to this shop after my breaks started hanging up. Due to how old my vehicle was and the cost for all the repairs it was best that I just got a new vehicle. Even though I didnt get any repairs at this shop the service manage Dave was friendly and helpful. I will remember this if I need anything done on my new car.

These folks are pretty awesome. Ive had work done, and they gave me options on pricing, not knowing what was going to be needed before the trans was opened. I am so grateful for this automotive shop! My brakes went out on a Friday night and Joe was able to take care of my vehicle the following Tuesday!! It gets better... he was able to have my car completely fixed in 6 hours!!!Joe was honest and kind about what other problems my vehicle had besides the completely rusted brake-lines. He didn’t charge me for new caliper pins, which most places would do, and just cleaned/thread sealed them.when I asked about the state of my transmission he explained the transfusion vs flush process and left me feeling relieved.Joe was most importantly on top of communication and pleasant throughout the entire experience. I am officially a lifelong customer of this auto shop. I highly recommend this place!

Failed to return call, they also went ahead and ordered unnecessary parts with consulting me. Agreed that was able to do in house to find out sent to someone else waited 3 days to return. Upon return it was just put in a cardboard box in several pieces. As A business the customer should be informed if supposed service is done in-house or outsourced. Nothing should be ordered without customer being notified first. none the less dismantled and returned in worse condition. I should also mention according to the service manager anything under 1500 is chump change to them> so making a comment to a customer should make you think twice about them.

Even though there was initially some miscommunication with people covering for Chad and his lead tech while they were out (such as performing unauthorized work on my vehicle), Chad made it right when he returned. Mistakes dont bother me so much when the guy running the show actually tries to make things right. He knows his stuff and I wont hesitate to use them for any future transmission issues.

My 2000 Plymouth Neon hasnt been driving well for the last 3 weeks and I was scared to drive it. it would rev up, but it wouldnt move and then it would stall. I read the awesome reviews and decided to call... they told me to come on in right away for a free estimate. I was a little apprehensive, being a younger woman (I would have seen $$$ walking in the door) but they took it for a drive and found that i was 4 1/2 quarts low on transmission fluid and had a small leak. They patched up the leak, filled up the fluid and it only cost $10. I was literally stressing about this for almost the last month, and didnt even think to check the fluid.... THANK YOU EASTSIDE TRANSMISSION! you saved the day! I recommend this place to anyone. Honest, good service. Thanks again!!! =]

My car broke down about 1 mile from this shop so I called and explained what was going on with it. The guy I spoke with on the phone listened kindly, and explained theyd be able to diagnose it the same day; however, wouldnt likely be able to fix it until Monday as it was already mid-morning on Friday. I had AAA tow it to their shop and they called a few hours later to give me the diagnosis and estimate. From there on out, everything went exactly as theyd said it would -- the car was ready by the end of the day the following Monday as indicated, and the cost was exactly what they quoted me. Ive now driven the car for a week and everything is perfect with the clutch. Id highly recommend them, and while I obviously hope to not need any more work on my car anytime soon, if I did, Id comfortably return to their shop.

Walked in there today with a very minor transmission slippage problem that doesnt always happen all the time. Two of the mechanics drove it around with me to try and diagnose the issue but for whatever reason, the problem never occurred while they were driving it. They were both very honest and sincere and told me it was most likely nothing to be worried about as everything seemed to drive fine and if it ever got worse to come back and then theyll see if they can diagnose it. I appreciate the honesty and not trying to charge for something until they fully know what it is.

Darren was able to properly diagnose & repair our transmission. He was actually recommended by another local repair shop. I am so thankful I listened to that other repair shop owner. 2 previous shops had tried & basically quit trying to fix our transmission. Not only did Darren accept the challenge, he did so with a smile & kept us up to date as to what was going on. All said & done, I highly recommend Eastside & wish I had took our car here 1st.

I went to Eastside Transmission after reading a number of positive reviews on Angie’s List and elsewhere. The work comes with a 2 year / 24,000 mile warranty. This is a positive. The work completed was a rebuild of a number of transmission components. So far, that work appears to be solid. From an initial inspection, I was quoted a cost in the range of $1,200-2,500 depending upon the level of work they discovered when they opened up the transmission. The final cost came in over $3,000.I dropped the vehicle off with a letter on Monday night under the premise this could be completed by Friday. They did not look at the vehicle until Wednesday. Following through on Friday, they told me they would need until Monday. On Monday, the vehicle was put back together when they discovered a leak and needed to pull the part back off and hold the vehicle until Tuesday. On Tuesday, I picked up the vehicle. When I started the vehicle, a related repair I asked to have fixed was not completed. The center pipe on the exhaust had a leak. I asked about this over the phone and received oral confirmation they could receive it. I included the request in the letter when I dropped off the car. The service order referenced the work. But, it was not completed. As opposed to having to have them finalize the work and have to rent a car for another day, I will go somewhere else.

NOT HONORABLE!!! I took my transmission in for a rebuild and all was well until the transmission died and left me stranded out of town. So I called East Side transmission and they said to bring it back in and they would take care of it. We ended up towing the vehicle back (approx. 200 miles). Once it was back into East Side they took several days to inspect it and get back in touch with us. Once they finally called they said that the trans. was shot and would need a rebuild. I reminded them that it should be under warranty and they said they would call me back. The next day they called and said that it was out of warranty. They told me at that time that the warranty was only a 1 year or 12,000 mile. So we towed it back home. After reviewing our paper work we discovered that it stated clearly it was a 2 year 24,000 warranty. So I called them and they said to send them the paper work and they would get back to me. After reviewing the paper work they said that they were new owners and they did not have to honor the old owners warranty, but that they would give us a discounted price of $2543.27. I have since compared this quote to other shops and there is no discount. This bid is still a between 850.00 and 1250.00 higher than other shops in the area at this current time. Bottom line here is I think that everybody makes mistakes but it’s what you do after them that that makes all the difference. MY ADVICE HERE IS STEER CLEAR AND KEEP SEARCHING FOR AN HONEST BUSINESS!!!!!!

On Monday, I brought my car into have it diagnosed. The next day, they call backed to inform us that timing chain and suspension work needed to be replaced. We agreed to have them fix it and car would be done by Friday. I called and emailed midday Wednesday to follow up with repair but didn’t receive a response until Friday. The service guy said Chad McGraw (general manager) was out of office and had no idea when our car would be repaired. So, we waited until Chad called us which was Friday and told us that car would not be fixed until next week Tuesday because mechanic was sick. Fast forward to Tuesday, the car still was not done, we didn’t get our car back until 5:00pm on Friday when shop was getting ready to close.More so, I clarified line by line of with chad on what they repaired on my car and asked him verbally did he complete all the work he responded, “yes except for wheel bearing”. And he claimed he did additional work and testing that he didn’t charge. While driving home we noticed the steering wheel was off and shop was close on weekends.Waited until Monday to speak with chad, asked him if I can go over work order, he said sure. So, I asked if he repaired everything on invoice, he said yes, so I went line by line to understand because I explained to him that wheel alignment was off even though you confirmed work. He became offensive then proceeded to yell and scream along line I gave you discount, and I did the work and should not ask me any questions. I replied what’s wrong with you then he hanged up on me and screened my calls. I was very confused as to what just happened. All I tried to do is seek to understand. Had to call corporate to file a complaint and get them involved to attempt to reconcile the situation. A long story short I took my car to two other napas autocare to have it fully diagnosed and replaced parts that was not done even though he said he did it. The last autocrat said the car was not fully diagnosed and should’ve perform an engine compression test. Come to find out my engine needs to be replaced and manager and his boss refused to give my money back. Stay away from Eastside Automotive and Transmission and Chad. He’s dishonest and manipulator.

I used to go to this place, before they changed owners. Back then the service was great and prices reasonable. The guy who owned the place really took care of me. He even gave me a ride home in my car before working on the car so I wouldnt have to wait there while they worked on the car. But now things have changed.A few weeks ago I took my car in, and the new manager there test drove it alone. He couldnt get the car to make the noise it was making, so I test drove it with him, and got the car to make the squeaking noise it makes at highway speeds. After that, my son and I waiting in their new waiting room area while he worked on the car. He adjusted the shims or something like that. We drove the car home and it did not make the noise. The next day I drove the car out to Sun Prairie to some garage sales, and after some highway miles it made the noise again.A few weeks later, I took my car back to this place again because I finally found an opening in my schedule (because I had gotten a new job). I scheduled a specific day to have them work on it, a week in advance. I took my car there first thing in the morning that day. They had all day to work on it. I had to walk a mile home that day, so I could come home while they worked on it. I never got a call back from them about it for the entire day. First thing in the morning the next day, I call them and ask how it went. They didnt even try to work on the car. The guy test drove the car, couldnt get it to make the noise again, so he didnt do anything to it. I was already mad at this point. I thought, so you had my car all day, test drove it once, did nothing to it, and never even called me back to tell me that? The new manager guy that I had been working with/doing all these test drives and repairs wanted me to come back in, drive it around for awhile, get it to make the noise again, and then test drive it with him again so he could hear the noise and diagnose the problem. So I walked a mile back to the place (towing my son in his wagon as I had before when I had dropped the car off the day before) and did as the manager asked. I drove the car 5 or 6 miles before it started making the noise again, and drove back to the place. The manager had already left to go test drive another car he was going to work on. I waited 20 minutes for him to come back. I wondered if he had driven my car for that long. If he had, he probably would have heard the noise.Anyway, after 20 minutes of waiting for this guy, I decided I was done with this place. I will never come back there, they dont know they just lost a customer, unless of course they read this review. And I am really kind of sad/mad about this before its not easy to find a nice, trustworthy, reasonable mechanic. I am really bummed that this place is not what it used to be and I will have to go take my chances on somewhere else now.

I was having some serious concerns about the transmission on my 93 Saturn. I went in for a drive around. Randy told me what the problem was and how much it would cost. As my car is old it cost way more than it could be worth (750). He told me what to do and that I would probably have 6 to 12 months with the car. All this was free. Which was WAY better than the $120 test I would have had to do at Terrys Car Care.

During the install of my new transmission, the technician damaged my motor causing my engine to make loud noises. I immediately called the manager and explained the situation... I took it in and the technician (and manager)who worked on my van said stuff like that happens. Unhappy with their flippant reply, I then talked to a different manager and he told meyou brought the van in like that. Unbelievable!!!Just recieved a quote from a different shop and to repair my motor that Eastside Transmission damaged... Cost is $1500 for the repair.Stay away from this place!!! Tech was walking through the parking lot when I pulled up and he greeted me and asked if he could help. I explained my issue and he took me to the service desk. I believe Randy was who ultimately helped me. Told him I was dealing with torque converter shudder that showed up about a week ago. He told me about an upgraded valve that would fix it. While he was looking up a price I told him I had 190k miles on the vehicle and he immediately said it would not be wide to invest approx $1000.00 to do the upgrade because a complete rebuild would be $2500.00. He then told me they had about an 80% success rate using an additive called Dr Tranny Shudder FIx. They did not have any on hand so I bought a tube online and it worked. I am amazed at what the additive did but more happy with a business that gave me an honest alternative rather than a doom and gloom scenario that would have had me getting a complete trans rebuild. When / If the trans does finally give up they will be the ones who get my business to rebuild it

( Not sure of tech details. ) By 10 am the car was ready. The cost was $80. The car shifted smoothly between all gears. The reception area was clean and there was a clean restroom as well. There were complimentary beverages. The entire process was very pleasant. I have been to Honda Acura in Middleton WI. The experience at Eastside Transmission was just as professional. The employees were rued and it felt like they could care less about you or your car, I brought them my truck to see about a rebuild but was told they could not rebuild it. I had to fined a new one. I was quoted $1,200 for them just to install it and after having to wait for about a week I finally got my truck back and a bill that was $300 over the original quote. I got a one year warranty for the work they did and after two days I brought it back dew to leaks that showed up, they tried their hardest to not do the work clamming it was a different part leaking and not what they worked on. After twenty minutes of arguing they finally worked on it but they only slowed the leek, I ended up looking at it the next day and found five loos bolts around the pan, I snugged up the bolts and the leaks stopped but then a new one started from the front and they said no, clamming it was a seal inside the transmission I clamed bull tolled them it was the front main seal and they said for another $1.500 they could fix it. I went to someone ells and found that I was right, the seal they installed was bad. these people will not stand behind their work, will not show you appreciation and will not stick to the quote they give you
