We went to Gerber after another Madison body shop failed to satisfactorily put our car back together after a collision with a deer. Gerber did an outstanding job figuring out what needed to be done, (which the other shop failed to do after three tries), doing the work to a high standard, and getting the car back to us promptly. 100% satisfied!

I went here after an accident I had and they were stellar. Quick service, friendly staff quality service. I know it sounds like a generic review, but it’s true. Years later, after getting my service and have no problems with the guaranteed service that had been done, a couple of screws fell out of my splash guard, unrelated to the original work they had done. They brought me in, within seconds of arriving, had the screws replace within 15 minutes and didn’t even charge me, all while chatting me up and being super friendly outside while I waited. I just cannot recommend this place enough.

I recently took my vehicle to Ideal Body shop for repair. I had a great experience. Gary, the owner, gave me great advice on what to fix and what to live with. He offered a valuable viewpoint and perspective. The entire staff was courteous and professional.The final bill was exactly what he estimated, which was competitive to another major automotive shop nearby. However the total cost was less than the competition as I took Garys advice and did not fix a small scratch on my bumper, since as Gary said a future runaway shopping cart will negate that fix at any point in the future.You cant even tell there was ever any damage to the area which they repaired. They even touched up my bumper scratch to make it less noticeable for no additional charge.I love the fact they are a Madison tradition, with over 100 years under their belt. I will not hesitate to return to Ideal for any future body repair needs (hopefully not many!).A+!

Great team here! Everyone I met at this location was extremely kind and helpful. I only had a minor dent that needed to be pushed back out, they got me in and out in just a half day. I bought some paint for them to touch up the dent and they went above and beyond by even touching up a few other spots that needed it — Nice work and more than fair on their pricing. I’ll definitely recommend to others and head back to this location in the future if I need a repair.

Took in a 99 forerunner for collision damage to front bumper. Had an estimate sent off to the insurance company of the responsible party within a half hour of arriving. Side fenders had paint peeling from years of exposure; I declined the offer of having those repaired for an extra fee to match the new bumper. They ended up repairing it free of charge anyway. Friendly and expedient service; repair looks great. Would definitely come back here for future work.

Gary at Ideal is the most helpful, honest businessman imaginable. His staff is equally willing to help PLUS fast and efficient and good at their trade. I got absolutely wonderful, thoughtful service at a better than fair price and am almost anxious for the next mishap so i can go back. Ideal Body Shop is the only shop ill ever use.

Hank helped me with a repair and it was an extremely pleasant situation. Many guys Ive seen about my car can come off as very patronizing, but Hank was very honest and efficient. I would trust this place again in a heart beat.

I went to Ideal Body Shop (in their new location in the old Thorstad dealership) because my rear bumper was falling apart. I wanted someone to fix it up quickly and cheaply, without spending extra to make it look like new. They did a great job, for exactly the price they estimated. I strongly recommend them.

I recently took my truck to Ideal Body Shop for repairs after being in an accident. This is the first time Ive had body work done on a vehicle and the first time Ive filed anything through insurance. I have been to Ideal Body Shop in the past with a GREAT experience. Gary had phenomenal customer service and did great work on my car. However, Ideal Body Shop had recent change in ownership/management. I decided to give it a try and sadly was underwhelmed with the customer service and overall experience. I brought my car in for the scheduled appointment and waited for an hour to find out that the wrong part was ordered. I understand that these kinds of things happen and came back a week later when the correct part was in. The part was then replaced/fixed in less than the estimated labor time, but when I asked about the cost of labor being reduced from the original estimate, their secretary reported that the only reason it took less time than estimated was because they already opened the car up the week before - she denied a cost reduction when I asked. I have higher standards for customer service and will be taking my car elsewhere in the future.

The staff at Ideal Body shop were awesome. They were very honest with me and were even able to do my repairs under the estimate. I would recommend them to anyone!

Ideal doesnt honor their warranty.Rear bumper and trunk repair of Honda Accord.1. Body panels not properly aligned. At the point where bumper wraps around and meets quarter panel there is overlap and quarter panel now sticks out, and is not flush with bumper edges on both sides of car.2. Paint peeling off bumper near where trunk closes.Ideal will not honor their lifetime warranty and will not repair.
