Line at the door as they are only allowing a small amount of people in at a time. The girls at the door are very nice & helpful & make product suggestions while you wait. Youre not allowed to use the testers yourself, so if you want to try something ask an employee and they will assist you.This five star review is mainly for the brunette with glasses that was assisting at the front door. Youre awesome! Your product recommendation changed my life! I came in for Dry Bar cause its just what Ive always used, but she suggested Amika and my hair looks, feels, and smells amazing! AND I can run my fingers through it WITH dry shampoo in it!!! Love it!

I was beyond impressed with the safety measures The employees took for the safety of customers and themselves. I wanna take a moment to recognize LIZ, she was beyond helpful and very profesional in the way given. She sanitized anything and everything I was looking for. I came in looking for some lipstick shades since they were on sale for lipstick day, LIZ was super helpful and I enjoyed her company and enthusiasm. Thank you LIZ for your help and keeping myself and others safe during these difficult times. I will definitely be back to shop more often at this location.

I came in because I had a really important event coming up and my skin has been breaking out but also super dry so every time I put on makeup to cover, it would just flake off. And the associates that assisted me were AMAZING. They had recommendations based off the needs of my event and also the needs of my skin. They were so nonjudgmental and caring, and they had incredible product knowledge. I really trusted them and they came through!! My face looked better than EVER. I have a normal makeup routine that I’m confident with, and never would have considered switching. But these products were INSANE. My face looked photo retouched. I wanted to cry I was so happy. And the associates, Sarah in particular, were BEYOND helpful. I felt comfortable and confident and I cannot thank her enough so making my event even more special. There are two other stores closer to where I live, but I go out of my way to go to Alderwood.
Just had the best experience at Alderwood Sephora! I hadn’t been in since covid started so long ago and had been doing all online and returning thru online isn’t the easiest so I finally went in covid or no covid. The ladies were so helpful and the blonde manager lady was so nice. I was worried about my return because I’ve been hiding from all things covid for so many months but the staff took care of me! So happy thanks! Can’t wait to use all my new goodies.

I purely came here to write a review for Andrew. He went out of his way to give me information on the products I was looking at. He had such comprehensive information on every little item in the drunk elephant “the littles” package even when to use/how often/why, in addition to comparable products. He told me that what was in my basket would qualify me for a free facial and the facial was amazing. Most places won’t go out of their way to offer a promotion you were unaware of but he did and he told me step by step what products he was using and their benefits. I was so surprised to find out he had only been employed for three months there. He was a natural and will definitely move up the ranks quick. I was so satisfied with my purchase feeling like I made a well informed decision instead of an impulse buy that I felt I just had to post a review about this guy that made my whole day better. I even got a couple of the products he used in the facial. I’m a manager in the service industry and often don’t see people that I would personally hire on the spot but I would hire him if I didn’t feel like I would be pulling him out of his element. FIRST EXPERIENCEwent to return a product that was the wrong shade. Was advised that I could return for cash, because I I paid debit. I didn’t want to wait 2 weeks for the credit. The Manager, Emily told me that she had to return the purchase the way I paid. I informed her that debit is the same as cash, and I called ahead just to make sure. She again said No, that they had to return it to the debit card. When I pushed and asked to speak with someone else, she responded, “Look! I know you got a discount on all of the stuff you bought!” I immediately asked her what that had to do with anything. She said it didn’t have anything to do with anything. I asked her why she said it. She said she shouldn’t have said it. She couldn’t explain herself. I asked to speak with someone else. She went and got the HR. I think his name is Tony. He apologized that she, a STORE MANAGER, wasn’t well versed in the return policy. He said that I was right and debit was not included in their policy; that I should’ve been allowed to return for cash. He did my refund and gave me cash.Before I left, I let him know that I attempted to educate her that debit wasn’t included, but she was so intent on racially stereotyping me, and profiling me, that she wasn’t hearing my empathy for her lack of knowledge. I was trying to help her out. It was extremely upsetting to have a store manager imply that I am doing something shady or sinister, by returning something. She intentionally attempted to assassinate my character, in a room full of customers, to embarrass me. The dignity in me, would not allow myself to get out of character, so I handled it in a manner that I can live with. God bless her, and God bless Sephora, and their racist ways. They will not have support from people of color if they continue to verbally and emotionally abuse and attack their customers, in this way; which is really a shame because we spend so much money in the beauty industry.

Taya is the best beauty consultant I have ever met. I have eczema on my face and I deal with many insecurities from it. Taya made me feel beautiful she recommend me products that didn’t hurt my skin, asked questions and was careful to make sure nothing she gave me reacted badly with my skin. I now have the best makeup I’ve ever bought !
I came recently to restock on some items for clients, the person who approached me first didn’t know the answers to my question but was happy to find someone who could. I love honesty like that, it saves a lot of time and frustration when associates can admit they do not know something. That’s when Chelsea came to save me! Although they were out of a few products I was hoping to purchase, she went out of her way to supply samples for me to use on my clients temporarily. She was so knowledgeable and knew exactly where to direct me, and had no issues answering my plethora of questions. She was by the the best help I’ve had at this location thus far! Very grateful!
I stopped in about a week ago looking for a couple items I purchased 2 years ago but couldn’t remember the name of and couldn’t find it. I asked an associate to recommend some things for me and she ended up picking out exactly what I had come in for but couldn’t find! I’m so impressed with the knowledge of products and ability to recommend what actually looks good on someone!
Really good service! I dont buy a lot of makeup so I wasnt sure how to match my color and skin type to get a new concealer but the lady there helped me really quickly find what I was looking for and got me out. I was really happy cause she didnt flood me with jargon or try to sell the most expensive product.
I really hate this place because the reason whom help and show us what we need to buy and how good it is, but some body inside tried to stop the girl has been helping us to move to help with somebody else such as they are intolerant and contemptuous of the majority of the human race. They should have to wait until the girl be done help us then she can move to the other customer. The manager needs to re-training or tell them what to do, DO NOT just sit in the office and listen to 1 side only.
I bought some skincare items and had multiple employees ask me if i needed help finding anything which was sweet. Then at the register they told me because i spent more than 75$ i get a mini facial which was suuper nice, Christeen was the lady that helped me she was so sweet and very fun to talk to. Overall a great place with kind staff!
I recently qualified for VIB status and went into the store for an exchange and for my complimentary Custom Makeup. LORENA was so sweet, made me feel comfortable as a basically new to make up user. She ran all over the busy store trying to find my right foundation match and did an excellent job. I would have NEVER been able to do it on my own. There was no pressure at the end of the service to purchase anything, but I did take a sample to see if I could recreate the look myself. 5 stars for Lorena.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff! Taya (hope I spelled that right) helped me color match my foundation and find a super easy brow tutorial that works for my skill level and looks great! Great experience overall.

I had my makeup messed up and ASHLEY (with the cute curls) helped me and fixed me in 15 minutes I wanted to cry. She took notice to every little detail and fixed everything and gave tips the entire time! Was super sad I can’t tip her. They were right at the end and it was just her who could do makeup and she was soooo nice didn’t act like I was a bother like others do even walking in, in the middle of the day.
This is my new favorite location. I used to shop at the Bellevue store, but after last nights visit to the Alderwood store, Im not going anywhere else. The store was well stocked, and the sales associates were not pushy at all, and they were all very helpful. I have been having some major skin issues (oily, dry/flaky, eczema), and Holly helped me find some great products to help combat that, and loaded me up with tons of samples! She really understood my dilemma and what I am currently going through with my skin.Thank you, Alderwood Sephora!

We went into sephora with a gift certificate to get a full size bottle of perfume out of the 13 samples we bought in a kit, they said they where out of the product and didn’t have many in stock, guys it’s christmas time you sold these kits and don’t even have the stock come on. so we found a bottle of the Burberry perfume that they said they DIDNT have and showed it to them they said that the bottle was the 1.8 oz and the gift kit was for the 1 oz bottle so we offered to pay the difference and they said no and there was nothing they where WILLING to do from there. the manager didn’t seem educated in anything. this same occasion happened about a month before this when i went to the mall with my friends and went into sephora and they where repeatedly asking us if we needed help even though we bought products they practically kicked us out.

As soon as i walked through the store i was rushed and followed immediately by an extremely rude woman who was wearing a maleficent looking makeup . Asked her about a product, got a sassy response and then when i walked to another section she followed me aggressively asking if i was going to buy anything . Ended up buying a benefit product and rushing out the store to avoid anymore non warranted harassment by this lady. When i actually wanted to look around and buy more. Yikes! Not a good experience. If you want nicer associates go to Ulta, they wont profile you and follow you around the store.

I used to really dislike Sephora in general because of bad/no customer service. But this store has stepped up its game. The associates whove helped me havent been pushy, and twice now Ive been recommended products that actually fit my needs, and why I came in: Benefit Big Easy and Anastasia Brow Wiz. They will also give you samples if you ask, and its super helpful for shopping for products like foundation.
Staff was extremely rude. My friends and I kept getting stared at and watched wherever we walked to. Employee with curly pretty hair had an ugly attitude. No one helped us and we were trying to get color matched. We left because we felt extremely uncomfortable. My friends and I will no longer be going into this store at least not this location. If you’re looking for makeup I suggest going into Ulta, as they have better customer service and are polite and nice.

Megan really helped me out today. I stupidly got a drugstore powder without paying attention to the product and Ive been incredibly unhappy with it, it comes off, turns me orange, is blotchy, and has glitter in it. All of the terrible things no one wants. I havent been incredibly happy with my foundation lately either. She actually took the limited time I had and turned it into an incredible experience, she gave me a new foundation to try and a product to help combat my oily t-zone/red blotchy cheeks. I left the store with a few samples, a not orange face, and a positive attitude. Shes the first gal that has really made me want to return to Sephora (I was really only there to get another makeup trunk that they were unfortunately out of) and because of her Ill be going back to see her and get some foundation, powder, and product recommendations for my weird face. She wasnt pushy and didnt make me feel like I was in the wrong store. I really appreciate her help.
I had such a great experience here! Came in to buy one thing for severe eczema on my face, and they steered me away from it because it would just make my situation worse. Instead, they recommended other skincare items that would help my skin feel less irritated and dry and even gave me some new tips on how to take care of my skin. Thank you so much Taya (I hope I spelled that right) and your store manager (who I forgot to ask the name of), you were super amazing!!!

I was always a little scared to go into a sephora, but I finally tried this one today and everyone was so helpful and so very nice. The girl that helped me find my shade really listened to me and then after we found my foundation she introduced me to the skin care lady who really helped me and gave me a sample to try and it was really amazing... I wish I had gotten their names because they were great!
Staff was extremely rude, has been every time I have shopped there since I moved up to Washington in August. Today was the last straw when I came into make an exchange and had the manager say I just didn’t want to pay. I will definitely be shopping online from now on.
My daughter purchased a few products based on the trial consultation and recommendation of a Sephora certified make up artist at the Bellevue location. The following hours were spent at Urgent Care where my daughter was diagnosed with an allergy to the cosmetics. The allergic reaction unraveled into a staphylococcus infection. A plethora of antibiotics and steroids to treat the bacterial infection were administered. Now on the mend, my daughter and I decided to return the products and inquire about a potential hygiene issue that might have occurred. We went to the Alderwood Mall location because it’s closer to our home. The response we received was appalling. In their own words “when you buy many new different products you should try them separately one at a time.” There were no apologies delivered. We were talked down.My intention was not to bring up a scandal or make a spectacle of this ordeal. These unfortunate things happen and my objective was to bring awareness to the company so that maybe others do not experience the same health emergency issue.Sephora did not take responsibility for their short fall and I highly encourage users to be aware that not only the customer service is disastrous by default, they also take a chance to compromise your health at a costly level.

Called customer svc regarding a gift card that I received but when I went to use it the lady at the counter told me it has already been used. The strip that hides the pin was still intact and i scratched it off right there at the counter. I was advised to call customer svc and i tried explaining to them that someone somehow used this card online. Customer svc just told me that they cant do anything about it. Too bad, so sad!! I dont understand how a big company like this could have a crappy CS and ungrateful for customers they have that pay for there jobs! I am never shopping there again! I will take my business somewhere else!

Staff was usually nice, and helpful but recently I came in and asked for a mini makeover for eyeliner. They asked me to wait, which I was ok at first. After about 20 mins, some lady came up to me, shoved some eyeliners at me and left. It wasnt even busy!

I came into this store today to get my makeup done with my free makeover coupon I got when I reached VIB status, and Megan was seriously so awesome! I am obsessed with the BECCA cosmetics light chaser highlighter she used on me in shade Rose Quartz Flashes Seashell and its totally on my to-buy list now! Ive also been meaning to try out Kat Von Ds lock it foundation (and get shade matched!) and she used that on me today and I love the way it wears, too! Lasted all day, in 92 degree weather and through sweating on a hike! Also mad props to the girl who did my blue eyeliner from KVDs liquid lipstick Dreamer! Wish I looked at her nametag

I love this Sephora! Theyre not over the top fake friendly and in ur face. They greet u, ask of u need anything, and then let u do ur shopping. (Which is what I came to do.. Shop in peace!)I cant stand SAs that wont leave u alone. It will literally make me hate that location, and not ever go back there again. The Sephora in Seattle the SAs will STALK me around the store thinking Im stealing something. Ive NEVER stolen from that Sephora and they had NO reason to suspect me. It happened every time I went in there and got to a point where I yelled at the SA, dropped my products and left the store.STAY AWAY FROM THE SEPHORA IN UNIVERSITY VILLAGE SEATTLE.
