Recently got my breaks done. Was quoted 250 then when it comes time to pay I am told my bill is 360. I specifically told them if anything extra needed to be done to call. They said they called I didnt receive any missed calls 🤷 what can you do. Giving 2 stars because they did a good job on the brakes.

We own a small car dealership in Lynnwood and take all of our cars to Brakes For Less for brake work. They provide free inspections, are very honest and their prices cannot be beat.

I was charged 560 for a wheel Hub Assembly Replacement. The labor was 175. They said the part was 360. When the gentleman was filling out the invoice and taking my payment, I saw the actual parts receipt. Didnt think anything of it. I seriously just said Okay, I am not car parts or car aware to that level to know how much these costs,the parts.I did like their friendliness. The mechanic showed me the part replaced, but I seriously thought it would be the whole rear replaced not just one side. I was a bit confused with the part price. I bought the front ones both for 170 ish tax and all new.. And my cousin had me call Auto Zone which is where I saw the invoice on their counter, and they said 71 dollars is what it costs for the ONE REAR entire combo unit. I then called another parts place and they said similar amount. So, I am. NOT sure if I was ripped off a parts price or not.The car needs both, well all four replaced but I am seriously on a major budget. I would rather pay that amount knowing it was labor than a part only, MORE AND less on Labor.The car was making a crazy noise wheelhub barring really needed replacing at least the back right and the front left for sure but, it now sounds EVEN WORSE AND LOUDER. I am really confused.My review is on the PART COST. I called back to clarify and he had an attitude when I asked. I even told him I saw the paper on your desk. Not sure if it was for my car or whos. But it was WAY LESS than what was told.Then I seriously thought BOTH BACK would be replaced. Not just one. I wouldnt have taken it in to them for that price for one. When I had called to confirm they said back.And since I had bought my front ones (those didnt get replaced) they said only labor and it would be 175 each hub upfront so it doesnt add up to me therefore thats why I am leaving a concerned review.The mechanics however, seem to know their work and are friendly. My cousin said its because I am a girl that I got taken advantage of but I dont think so. My neighbor also said I was ripped off so you be the judge.I also called a different shop now and was given a much less price for the back left to replaced and thats parts. Even that shop asked WHERE DO THEY GET THEIR PARTS JESUS. SO I DONT KNOW but all their reviews are great which is what brought me to this place and well here we are. Car sounds even LOUDER and one right hub cost me 560, if thats the price for each, Holly Cow.Thanks Everyone

These guys are do great work at at great price, not charging any more than necessary. I take all my cars there for the whole family. When inspecting the brakes on our Highlander recently he noticed a slight noise on a road test and adjusted the caliper. Since the pads still had life in them he recommended checking them again in about 6000 miles and didnt charge me at all despite probably putting almost an hour of labor into it.

I brought my 00 Saturn in less than a week ago to get the back brakes checked out. They were able to get me in quickly, and got to my car right away. After that, the mechanics SHOWED me what needed to be done, instead of telling me and spitting a bunch of automobile jargon in my face. I agreed to the repair, and they were able to get it done same day!!! They even gave me a deal on everything! I was expecting to not walk out of there without at least a 600 dollar repair and the guys gave me a quote that was very reasonable and affordable. All of the mechanics were super nice, straightforward and down to earth. If you are looking for an honest, affordable and positive experience, Brakes for Less is the place to go!

We were buying a used car and couldn’t find a shop that could check the car out. These guys said bring it down we’ll do it for free. They were plenty busy and went out of there way to look the car over and even gave us a write up. We were from out of state and when my mechanic went over the car the write up was spot on. They are professionals and saved me $150. I can’t say enough about them. Great shop!

I didnt have an appointment and my brakes were in bad shape. He told me to go ahead and bring it in and hed work it in between his other appointments. I received a call before 10:00am that my car was done and ready to go. They were very friendly and extremely quick, especially since I didnt have an appointment in the first place.

My family has taken their vehicles to Tom and the guys for years due to their honesty, great work, affordability . When I moved to the area, and needed my brakes to get looked at, Brakes for Less is the shop I called . I was not disappointed and was incredibly impressed with the team . I had a vibration and a light squeak in my front brakes and Tom and the team looked at it and informed me that I did not need new pads for another 6 months or so. From experience, there are not many shops that are that honest and not try to sell you something that you don’t need then. It is refreshing . Due to that honesty, I will be bringing my truck back to Brakes for Less in 6 months and will continue to as long as I am in the area. Brake for Less is the best mechanic Ive ever met.I had a vibrating brake issue on recently bought used car, which turned out bumpy rotor meaning the prev owner didnt resurface while he changed the pads.I visited local mechanic in Kirkland, and their estimates was over $500. The reason is that the rotor is warped, and the pads are too bad to create too much heat, so both rotors and pads has to be replaced.I walked out because the estimate was way higher than I expected, and paid $20 dollars for estimation.A week later, I visited Brake For Less. The guy drove my car, and disassemble brakes for inspection.After that, he told me that all parts are new, and resurfacing is enough with $75. I was shocked because it was too different from the Kirkland local mechanic. I was suspicious if they were correct because of $75 vs $500 comparison.They worked about one and half hours to resurface, test drive, checked tire air pressure (which I didnt ask them, but they did thankfully), and I just paid $75.The issue is gone, and I am very happy about the service and the end result.If you have brake issue, you definitely have to come to Brake for Less.

I’m a new customer so I allowed 1 week to test if my brakes will work or fail in order to make my review. So far, everything works great and the price says it all. It’s $200 less than the dealer and $100 less than Midas. Brakes For Less did a very good job. I only asked to get the front brakes fixed but they checked my rear brakes as well. I was convinced I needed new brakes (daily squeaking from rust on the pads). They could have easily done the job and made money off me. But they let me know I still had plenty of life left in the brakes, recommended I wait a bit, and gave me some tips to help reduce the squeaking. Earned my trust!

I called this place when my brake pedal began to fail. I would need to press the pedal to the floor board just to receive adequate braking and became concerned. Brakes for Less told me to bring in my car and they would take a look. I waited for 45 minutes while they examined my car before calling me over and showing me what they examined and found as my car remained suspended in the air by the hydraulic lift. What a relief to receive such a detailed explanation!The gentleman told me he would like to attempt to drain fluid from a part near my right rear tire and refill the brake fluid. Otherwise, my car might need greater services they do not provide. I said I would appreciate what they could offer and waited another ten minutes.The serviceman then took my car out for a test drive to test the brakes and found the fluid pressure had been restored and my pedal was working normally again. I asked how much I owed and he replied, Oh, nothing. I didnt fix anything. I just took the fluid that pooling in one spot and put it back in the line.Are you serious? I am very grateful for your time.No, Im serious. You dont owe us anything.Three months later my brakes are still working perfectly after their assistance. I couldnt be more grateful for genuine, honest assistance. Brakes for Less reminds me that small town, personal service is still a thing even in a bigger, impersonal city. Thanks, guys!

Brakes for Less has my highest recommendation for service, competence, and expert repair.My car was making a noise that I suspected was a wheel bearing issue, but after three months of trying to get the dealership to listen (after my car had been there for an oil change, new tires, and brakes...) and the noise getting louder, my husband suggested I stop dealing with the dealership and call Brakes for Less who had done a great job installing brakes on his car.They got me in right away, actually test drove my car, confirmed the wheel bearing issue, and called me within a half an hour to give me the details of their diagnosis, what was needed for the repair and an estimate of the cost. The repair was done by the end of my work day and the price was reasonable.I only wish they did all car repairs, so I didnt have to have anyone else but them work on my car.

Theres a reason why these guys are good. Two quotes and these guys were the only honest one. Other areas were quoting me for 400 and 300. My service check and fluid refill was free and when trying to pay they only asked that I come back to them in a year. Whereas other repair shops were trying to cheat me and replace the brakes for no reason brakes for less were honest and went above and beyond putting my car on the lift to see if it even needed replacing and I was on my way .thank you brakes for less!

This is the best shop in town.When I was there for replacing my front rotors, owner Dan only charge me $40 for labor.I have to pay new rotors but $40 for labor??Common, this place is to be for anyone who need to replace brake or rotor.Two thumbs up!

Heard squeaking sounds here and there on my brakes so I made an appointment and went thinking ill be spending a few hundred dollars but after examination they let me know I still have 75% and 60% on my front and back breaks and the reason for the sounds was something else! They actually cleaned up my brakes and without even charging me anything! Great service!

One of the best auto mechanic experiences Ive ever had. I had my car towed in with a locked up brake on Saturday afternoon, was quoted a very reasonable price within two hours, and had my car back in exceptional condition on Monday morning. Will absolutely be back again for the rear brakes soon!

Sears Auto said my calipers and drums need replacement, and quoted $500+. I came to Brakes For Less for second opinion. Ryan took the time to examine the brakes, let me in the garage to see for myself, and gave me the honest opinion that my brakes are still in good condition (only 10% wear from new). These guys did great work in a short amount of time! The price I paid to get work done on my 2 front breaks was very reasonable. Turned out I had some sort of metal that had gotten jammed between my break pad and caliper that made an ugly mess of my caliper and break pad. They did a great job explaining the work and how theyd fix the issue.

I don’t get how ppl are giving this place good rating They over charge for shotty work. Had all brakes replaced and they charge $550 but brakes didn’t last. Six month later went back in bc same noise from brakes and they charged another $200 to fix it. They told me everything was replaced new but discovered only pad was replaced and everything else same. Two years later took car dealership bc brakes was shaking the car had warped roter. I thought I had new roter but wasn’t new. Now year later one of pad fell off. All others still good but this one was improperly installed.

I called and the owner his name is Tom I explained to him that my breaks are really in bad shape but I couldnt afford all the money up front he asked how much can I put down. At the time I thought I could do $200.00. When I took my car in I let him know I can only do $175.00 but next Friday I get paid and I can pay it off. I just started my new job, Tom dropped me off and picked me up when I took my car in. When he picked me up I walked to see my bill and to see how much I still owed. He said you only owe me $175.00 and we are all good. I cried like baby and hugged him so tight. You can never find people like that, I will always take my car to them, they did a great job. Tom, God bless you, you are one in a million.

Went in for some odd road noise and a squealing noise whenever I braked. I had stopped by Les Schwab and was quoted nearly $450 to change my rear brake pads! That price seemed a little high to me, so I decided to stop by Brakes For Less after reading all the great reviews and was not disappointed! They were able to replace my rear brake pads in a little over an hour for $200 less than what Les Schwab was going to charge me! HONEST shop to put it simply. Received a quote from Firestone on 99 and Airport Rd in Everett for over $500 and was told the front breaks and rotors needed to be replaced. The rotors were described as not salvageable and needed to be replaced. At Brakes for less I was told that the front breaks needed to be replaced and that the rotors were fine.Walked out the door for only $220.

Great price (especially compared to the Acura dealer), work is done quickly, and they will tell you if your car doesn’t need any work done. I’ve taken our VW, GMC, and Acura here. They have done a great job on all of them.

I went to my mechanic a month ago for a new alternator, he told me I would need new break pads soon. Of course I waited till I heard they started grinding. Being a little broke from the last repair I googled cheap breaks in lynnwood and saw the guys with awesome reviews. I went there and in about a hour I was good to go. After I paid,the guy in charge said he just had to take it for a quick drive to make sure it was perfect. When he came back a few minutes later he gave me my keys and said I fixed your seatbelt. I had a seatbelt that had been working but not working right and was very annoying. That is customer service at its finest. And the price by the wat was a LOT cheaper then my mechanic wanted! Fast and simple

Its hard to find an honest mechanic nowadays. My bmw computer told me that brake flush is needed 6 months ago (which i eaited to do with my brake pads). The computer said front brake pads due in 3k miles and rear in 5k miles. I figure lets do everything together. Tom come and told me front and rear brake looks like new, brake fluid tested to be in good condition. Everything is free of charge. Most shop will see you as someone with $$$$ when you drove bmw and upsell you with everything you dont need,especially when you come and said I need brake pad replaced. Tom is not your typical shop. He only sell you what you need. I had been and will continue to refer all friends to do brakes at brake for less.
