I had my transfer case go out on me about 3 years ago. Trans Service did a fantastic job figuring out how to fix the broken parts without having to replace the entire transfer case. Everything is still working great! Theyve also serviced my transmission and do a great job explaining the repairs and are upfront with pricing. They are very busy so it takes a while to get in but their work is worth the wait!

Dave built me the toughest transmissions possible after all three stock transmissions failed on my work trucks. Many miles and heavy loads later these transmissions dont even break a sweat and Ive never have any problems with Daves work. Best value in town. I refer all my friends and family to Dave.

Only transmission shop I trust. Had a dealer tell me I needed a new transmission. Took to another transmission shop, told me needed $1900 rebuild. Took it to Lynnwood trans and they fixed some small part and only cost about $200! Car is still doing fine 3 years later!

I went there to see if the trani was bad in my 2008 GMC Denali. The shop was slammed! The fellas took the time to give my car a test drive. They gave me honest feedback on what they believed the issue to be. They contacted the shop I go to regularly to collaborate with them on the issue as my regular shop actually referred me to them for transmission service. We spoke on a plan that did not require transmission service at this time. Im thankful that they were very helpful, seemed to be very knowledgeable and did not steer me in the direction of needing service that was not neccessary at this time.

I had an emergency situation! Burned my clutch out getting stuck in the snow with my daily driver. Dave took me in without an appointment. They are so busy with so many vehicles in line to be repaired (because their reputation is legendary!) and still he fit me in. I was worried my transmission was shot too...but he reassured me that it was probably only my clutch based on the information I gave him about what happened. It was only my clutch...they had it fixed in under the time I was told AND I paid under the price they quoted me for it! Double win! Just like several people recommended Daves to me....I hope this recommendation helps 100 times that! Customer service that excels...personality plus from Dave senior and junior....as well as their mechanics when they call to give you information or they answer the phone. 😁

I called 5 or 6 different transmission services and they wanted anywhere from $800 to $1400 for a clutch replacement and that didnt include towing. Called Dave and he quoted me less than $700 for a clutch replacement and towing, even included a year warranty. Cant recommend him highly enough for a job well done. Keep up the good work, Thanks for everything you did!

Really personable and knowledgeable crew. They charged me half of what any other shop was quoting me and when I asked how that was possible the answer was because they do so many transmissions, they are very efficient and don’t really need to go by “book time”, like normal repair shops. Bonus - the tow driver who took my car to the shop said that this is where they have their trucks serviced...

Dave Jr. and Dave Sr. were amazing. I originally went to Kings Transmission for a routine transmission service. It was very hot day in Seattle and for some reason the car was dribbling transmission fluid, which I didnt know until they told me. The fluid wasnt low, the car ran fine. Kings didnt put it on the rack, nor did they drive it. They just said I had a leak and could run out of transmission fluid at any time and was too dangerous to drive. They wanted to pull the transmission to check it. I found out from yelp this had happened before and to pull was going to be at least $650 to $1500. They verified this when I and when I asked them to top the fluid so I could get home, surprise, surprise, the fluid wasnt low. I went to 2 more shops who actually rove the car and they both said it ran fine. But they presumed a leak also.Dave presumed nothing. They placed dye in the tranny to determine if there was a leak. Even after 500 miles, there has been no leak. Their thought is that there must have been a burp. Anyway they are the most honest and helpful mechanics Ive come across and definitely are the only transmission shop I will ever use now.

It is true that they are a little overwhelmed with business at this shop but there is a reason for that. They know their stuff. If you want your transmission fixed fast and expensively, go to the major shops like Honda or Toyota. They will just bolt a new one in and charge you twice the price. If you can wait and have patience, Dave will fix it right, charge you a fair price and stand behind the work. That is rare these days...

Im a nice person. Im a patient person. But Im not about to entertain disrespect. I had the WORST experience trying to get my car fixed at “Dave’s” Trans Service in Lynwood. I’m having issues with my transmission, so I call them, and am 100% transparent about the situation with my car. I suspect there are issues with either the transmission control module or the clutch, and ask if they can diagnose that on my specific car. I ask if there would be any fees for the diagnosis, storage, or other fees, and am upfront that I am not sure if I want to fix it or not depending on the fix and cost. Dave gave me a patronizing laugh said “oh no miss, we are not that type of shop. I know a lot of places want to rip people off these days, that’s not us”. So I drove my car there Monday morning to get the transmission diagnosed, they tell me they will call me that afternoon to update me on the diagnosis. I did not get a call. I called back in Tuesday afternoon, and they told me “I think someone looked at it, but I am not sure and they are gone for the day… I will have them call you tomorrow.” Someone else calls me back Wednesday and they have no information and I have to RE-explain that I want the transmission diagnosed. Finally on Thursday they let me know the car stopped running and they don’t know what the codes from the check engine light mean… NO DIAGNOSIS still after they had the car for a week. I suggest I can deal directly with ford about it, explained that what they were telling me sounded like it might be an issue with the TCM which is under recall. They insist they have a “buddy” at ford that will take care of it and they have already arranged a tow to take it there. I clarify that I don’t want any work done that I am going to have to pay for since this should be covered for free by ford under the recall – they assure me yes. I was surprised they already set up a tow and let them know I have AAA and can get it towed for free, but agreed to pay the $70 to have their person tow it to Ford. Ford ends up fixing it for free under a recall. Dave calls me back Friday, after 2 weeks have passed and tell me they fixed my car and I can come pick it up – they will only charge me $225. I asked politely if he could explain the charges since the only charge I was aware of was the $70 tow since Ford’s work was cover free under the recall. That’s when Dave’s true colors came out. He started talking down to me, calling me sweetheart, and hung up on me. I go to pick up my car and he starts these power plays with me. Hassling me that I should have brought cash (never mentioned a cash policy previously, no signs posted either... a lady that seemed to work there laughed that he was pulling my leg). I offer card or check, asked to pay and leave asap. He charges me a BS 10% card fee. I paid him and his fee. He continues trying to poke at me with comments, then he wouldnt give me my goddamn key. I had to yell into the shop so that someone else could get me my key and I booked it out of there. Its not ok to mislead people, its not ok to treat a woman like he did, and its not ok to run a business like that. I was extremely disappointed at the unfair, disrespectful, nasty treatment I received from this business owner.

Amazing service, communication, and price! Fixed a broken 2nd gear, new clutch/flywheel, new motor mount, and even tossed on some rear camber arms I needed installed! Less then half what a dealership would have charged and I couldn’t imagine better service! Will be sure to refer anybody I know needing service to them!More details: Took my 6MT 2007 Acura TL-S in after breaking 2nd gear (spirited driving), I was having trouble finding an affordable solution this being a rare 6spd in a car Acura only made 2 Year’s. And horrified at the dealership costs and lack of care to explain anything. I asked family who they’ve used, was told this place was great years and years ago, and this still holds true today! Thank you Dave sr/jr for the work, I respect the way you guys do business!

A few days later I went in paid him, picked up my tranny went home installed it and bam my tranny is working great! So pleased and excited. I would definitely recommend daves transmission service to everybody! Hes awesome, nice, honest, ect. I promise you wont be disappointed. ******
