I asked that I need to repair the car. I was told that first I need to make a diagnosis that costs $ 150. And by the RESULT of the diagnostics, it will be known what needs to be repaired and how much it will cost. I was signed up for June 9 at 8:00. I arrived on time, they said after 12:00 the bus could be picked up. They gave me the car at 16:00, while saying that they had fixed it. I stopped by at about 14:00 to ask why it took so long, to which I was told that the turn and my car was next. Returning home, I noticed that the problem remained. I came again and said that the problem was not solved. In response, I was told I needed to do diagnostics again and it would cost $ 174.Why do you have to pay a second time to do the same? It is indicated that they give a guarantee for their work for 24 months or 24,000 miles, so I repeat for what should I pay again? And why make a record with the indication of the time if no one observes it.07/06/21 Today, under my review, the owner left a comment. Therefore, I decided to supplement my review. Not actually responding to my review, while accusing me of not paying. Although in his comment he himself indicated that I provided a voucher for payment of services. Before I took my car to them, I visited them twice. The first time when I was, I said that the payment would be a voucher and I needed to know the amount for which a voucher should be issued, the second time I came with a voucher and showed it and they signed me up for diagnostics. I had to wait three weeks.Regarding the free correction you made:1. An employee who called me about the fact that I can pick up the car, said that this is included in the cost of diagnostics, and the owner writes that it was made free of charge, figure out who is lying yourself.2 After your free adjustment my car started to start worse, and when returning home from your service, the car behaved the same as before your adjustment. Although I was told that everything was fixed and no further action is needed.The owner does not forget to indicate that they have been doing business like this for 70 years, and it is a pity that they have been doing their business like that, as a professional with 70 years of experience can easily identify a faulty 1996 car, which does not have as many complex elements as newer cars.I saw from personal experience that they cannot make the diagnosis correctly, since the result of your diagnosis is absolute zero. And it’s a pity that you don’t respect not only the time of your clients, but also your work and your 70-year reputation.

My mom took my car here for me to have it serviced as it was getting close to 100,000 miles. They said they changed the oil, checked tires and battery, etc. 4 days later my alternator and battery went out in the middle of driving, had to pay for a tow truck and took it to a different shop for a new battery and alternator. Thought it was just a bad coincidence that this happened 4 days after it was serviced but my mom let the shop know and they said they’d call back but they did not. A week later I noticed my tire pressure seemed off so we checked it and one side was much too high. Thought this was another strange thing as it had just been checked, so again my mom called to ask if my tire pressure had actually been checked and if my tires were rotated…again they said they’d call back and they did not. Then yesterday my oil light came on saying 15%, making me think my oil wasn’t even changed. At this point I’m thinking my car wasn’t even looked at or serviced. I am giving 2 stars because I do appreciate that once we called for the third time they issued a refund. However, I am disappointed as I am driving back to college in 2 days and am now scrambling to find time to have my car serviced so I can feel safe making a big trip.

Disappointing… called a week ago and made an appointment. Was instructed to drop the car off at 8 AM. I dropped the car off the night before. I’ve called to see if car was fixed. It turns out that someone on the phone did not write in my appointment. It was a waste of my full day. Mistakes happens. What bothers me is that they made no attempt to reschedule when I called or in person when I picked up the car. They may be a great mechanic but they definitely do need to improve on customer service.

I took my 2008 Acura to the local Acura dealer for an air conditioning service. I assumed I needed a charge and some Freon. I was told I needed a new air conditioning compressor and the cost would be $1900 + tax. I declined the service because I could not afford to spend $2000 on a 13 year old car.I called KC Martin. They gave me a quote for the same service for $1100. I decided to bite the bullet and get it fixed. They told me they would not accept the dealers assessment of the problem, but would diagnose it and come to their own conclusion. Thank goodness they did. After inspection they called me and told me I did not need a new compressor. I only needed a new relay and some refrigerant. The total cost for the service was $280.Thank you KC Martin for your honesty and fair business practices. Everyone that works there was friendly and knowledgeable. I will be using KC Martin for all of my car repairs from now on.

We love KC! They earned our busisness a couple of years ago when my civic was having brake issues. I authorized 250 dollars for new brakes and they cleaned them and charged me 40 dollars for labor instead since thats all that was needed. More recently our cobalt went to the great asphalt in the sky. They squeezed us in and while the diagnosis was not what we were hoping for the, shop was quick professional, and helped me understand exactly what was wrong. Tanya was especially helpful in communicating, and broke the news as gently as possible.We will not be using anyone else as long as were in the area. Ill be sending anyone who asks here as well.

I took my wifes car originally to another auto service. They had the caralmost a week and could not diagnose the problem. I got the car backwith same issues. I happened to drive down the street and saw a signthat said K.C. Martin Automotive Service. I stopped in, spoke to theman at the desk and he said, I think I know what your problem is.He came around the counter, went outside, opened the hood of my car, did something and bingo, the car was repaired.I have rebuilt automotive engines so I know a little about cars. But whatreally know is when you find a good, honest auto shop, thats where youtake your cars and trucks! I have now been a loyal customer for probably over 30 years. A 5 Star Rating!

I am not normally one to write reviews, but I’m really frustrated with KC Martins work. We took my Ford Escape in last year to get the AC looked at and the latch fixed on the back hatch door. After having the car at the shop all day, they told me it would be $400 to just fix the latch and that the AC had a sensor broken and caused my fan to be extremely loud as well, and needed to be repaired. I called around to a few other places about the latch and got quoted at $100 flat to fix the latch and would have the car in and out in about an hour. When I called to pick up my car, I was told I can’t take it off the lot because the door won’t close. I took the car anyways with no issue and went to the other shop.Fast forward to yesterday when I decided to finally get the “sensor” fixed on my AC and the shop I took it too looked at it and told me the sensor is in tact and working, it had just been unplugged. He plugged it in and it’s working like a breeze. The loud fan noise is gone as well. I went an ENTIRE YEAR thinking I would need to do a big fix on my AC or even just replace a sensor and all it needed was to be plugged in.I feel lied to by KC Martin and spent a few hundred dollars for it.And after reading some other negative reviews, I am sure the owner will write some backlash to me and justify this situation... the responses to reviews have been nothing but unprofessional.

Well I’m just an aviation mechanic but I know how mechanical things work. They broke 5 wire attach points.My new jeep had a condenser problem, I brought the condenser (a new one). To this shop. They refused to accept it (company policy). They did fix it with a part from China. My condenser was from US.I guess if you have the equipment to do this job bend over and say can I have another please.They defended themselves with saying I could not possibly be right, the 5 wires were right above the condencer. Their mechanics are sub par and their management doesnt believe the customer is always right even though the customer knows more than they do.

I have been taking cars to KC Martin Automotive for about 20 years now. I’ve had many bad experiences with garages in the past, and knew I did not want to take my car to a dealership. So somebody recommended KC Martin to me. And I have never been disappointed. They do excellent work, and they never tell me I need something done when I do not. Their staff is very very friendly, and they give excellent customer service. The last car I had was a Subaru legacy That I drove to work and back every day to the tune of 100 miles per day, and I got 550,000 miles on that car before I traded it in. It was still going strong. KC Martin was recommended to me by a friend of mine. Ive taken my truck to them twice now (differential and brakes) and have had an outstanding experience with them both times. They are wholly transparent, timely, and seem to be very skilled at what they do. Ive had bad experiences with auto repair shops in the past but KC Martin, in my opinion, has set a new benchmark for how a customer should be treated. They will be my first choice for any future work that may be needed and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a shop that truly does honest work for an honest price.

I came in for an $80 alignment on my MR2, they worked on it and told me my camber is not adjustable, and I would need to spend an additional $400 on a camber kit.I came back the following day with the some information (shop manual) showing that the camber is adjustable on the MR2, using the stock camber cam in the struts (as opposed to more common eccentric bolts).I was then told I have aftermarket struts and thats why they are not adjustable. I left, I pulled off my tire, and I saw the stock struts with camber adjustable cams. I took a picture.I returned and showed them the picture and manual for my car again. The reply from the owner/manager at the time - my guy has been doing alignments before you were born. the camber cant be adjusted. Go to another shop.I went to Factory Direct Tire - knew exactly what a camber cam is, and although less common, completed the alignment without issue.Management seemed unable to admit any fault, and was totally closed off from possibly learning something.Consumer beware.

Wow great service...I brought my car in on Friday to get my alignment fixed and oil changed and asked if they could have my car finished by 3 because my friend needed an emergency babysitter that night. They had my car finished by noon and even added in a new axle on the right side. My car no longer sounds like its going to fall apart every time I take a sharp turn. Prices are fairly reasonable too, the new axle was more than I wanted to spend but AAA membership helps out a bit.

I have trusted my autos (both domestic mfg and foreign mfg (Audi and BMW) to KC Martin for over 20 years. They are honest which is increasingly rare in the auto repair field. As you can imagine, over a 20 year period, not everything has gone without a problem. But when any issue would arise, KC Martin always did what it took to bring the issue to a satisfactory conclusion.The best recommendation I can give is that I continue to take my vehicles to KC Martin (even though I recently moved out near Carnation) ... they are worth the drive.

Awesome customer service, good response time, etc..Brought them my car I was suspicious of having a serious motor problem — when you drop your car off you can give them a budget to work with for diagnosis/minor repairs. Gave them a $500 budget and they only used $120 of it to let me know what was going on, and then called to let me know the car might be a lost cause, but asked if I wanted them to spend a little more to see if it was a minor thing (oil/fluid flushes, etc.) Gave them the go-ahead and still only ended up spending $240 after a Motor Problem diagnosis and 2 synthetic oil flushes.Found my new area shop! 👍🏼

AAA approved repair facility which says a lot. Experienced and professional staff. Trustworthy work. My car was fixed far ahead of schedule. Nicest people.

WORST EXPERIENCE. I took my 2012 Mazda 3 with 70,000 miles in to K.C. Martin to have my engine looked at. (My check engine light had come on) My car has had all it’s maintenance and oil changes since I bought it brand new. K.C. Martin called me the next day to tell me my car had a cracked gasket and this was going to be very labor heavy to work on because they had to take my engine out of my car. So we proceeded with them fixing this issue. After two weeks, I finally got my car back. I paid $2,300 for this. Then 2 days later.. my engine overheats on the freeway. I have to have it towed back to K.C. Martin just for them to call and tell me I need a new engine which now costs $8,000 dollars. Wait what? They just diagnosed my car with a cracked gasket and took my engine out of my car to fix it. They completely took no ownership and basically told me this is just random that my engine would overheat two days after they just had my car for OVER TWO WEEKS diagnosing my check engine light. They were completely unhelpful and took no responsibility. I do not recommend going to this place. I am a graduate student who goes to school, a internship and a job that I no longer have a car to get too.

Cleanest, most well organized shop I’ve ever been to, with a focus on customer service. They do charge top dollar but I know their techs and mechanics will do good work, and they’re still much cheaper than a dealership. They’ve never let me down. They’ll even work with you on the bill if it comes in over their estimate.They’ve worked on my Civic and, more recently, my ambulance conversion. Fires right up now. They even followed up with a call a week later to see how it was running!

KC Martin Automotive is the one place I go to get my vehicle repaired. It all starts at the front desk. Everybody there are friendly and helpful. They know their stuff. The mechanics also are great. KC Martin seems to hire people who know how to fix cars. I have never had a problem with any repair. The prices I think are fair because there are never any problems once the car is fixed. They know what to look for and fix it. If the price seems to be a bit high they will call to confirm from that its okay. A great place to get your car back in service.

Very fair. Helped us with a noise in the back of the car. Did a free inspection and they said there was nothing that needed replacement and that it was just a noise. That kind of honesty is so nice. They could have said we needed to replace the entire suspension and I wouldnt have known better. Will definitely be back again.

All I needed was my wheels to have an alignment and after having me come back to the shop twice, they finally told me that they couldnt do it after the assured me twice before that they could do it. My car is lowered possibly an inch MAYBE 1 1/2 . They told me that the only way theyd do it is if I paid 1200 for front camber bolts and rear camber arms. I have many mechanics in my family and I called around to other shops and everyone told me that K.C Martin is just being crooked and lazy.

We have dealt with KC Martin for about 50 years. Never have felt like we have been overcharged, in fact, a number of times their charges were way below what we were expecting based on information from other places, mainly oil change or tire stores.On one occasion when the repair was not completely satisfactory, they performed more work on my car at no charge.I have encouraged many friends to go to KC Martin, none have ever told me that they were not satisfied with the work performed there.They also have a transmission shop (different location) that has been very helpful and cost effective when I needed them.

My family has been taking our cars here for years. They have consistently done well, given us fair prices, and we have never had an issue with being oversold. They give solid advice, and are great to work with. I always recommend them to friends and family.

We relocated from out of state and moved a customized european made car that was not in compliance with the WA emissions standards. Additionally the car was very low to the ground which created clearance problems with the front end and the WA terrain. The technicians at KC Martin were able to adjust the custom installed suspension which not only gives us an inch more ground clearance the handling and ride has improved greatly. Additionally they were able to confirm that procrastination does sometime pay off as the emissions standards have changed since our failed test and the car now passes. After looking for months for a shop equipped to work on a heavily modified car we found KC Martin. The shop is well kept and tidy, the service advisers are great to work with. Best of all the technicians can work on anything and seem do it well. The shop rate and charges are not the lowest around, however, they are a properly run professional shop that accurately diagnoses and repairs. That is a valuable service in automotive repair and worth the cost. Our car passed emissions testing and is now has WA plates and in back in service. We are fans of KC Martin...

K.C. Martin Automotive is a fantastic One-of-a-Kind car service center. Finding K.C. is like finding the right doctor, dentist and hair stylist when you move to a new town. They are totally professional, straight-forward, honest, up-front, friendly and caring. They do what they have to and they do it fast. They wont do things that arent needed. They will recommend further work if it is needed. They repaired two major items on my Jeep Wrangler in one day. Web bloggers had said that the fan blower and the gas filler seal problems on the Jeep were major, costly headaches to fix. Just needed my engine checked out to pass my emissions test - they did a full inspection and found a number of things wrong with the engine, but never tried to force me into fixing any of it. They were extremely nice and helpful, I even got updates via phone from the mechanic himself throughout the day. Highly recommended.

Since when is a courtesy check something that costs money? They gave me an estimate that was way larger than I was willing to spend so I had it towed to my trustworthy mechanic in Everett. But then when I tried to get it towed they said I owe them for an hour worth of labor. On the estimate it even says courtesy check. These people rubbed me the wrong way.

Tanya is great at the front desk and can answer any questions when setting an appointment. They are fair, dont overcharge, and wont perform any fixes you dont o.k. ahead of time. They also have cars you can rent for a nominal fee the day of service. Excellent!

KC Martin certainly has a good reputation and I guess the bar in auto repair is pretty low but I was really disappointed with my experience with them and wont return. Yes they diagnose the problems and fix the car, I guess this is a big deal when it comes to repair shops. But that basic level of service seems to me like the floor instead of the ceiling. My beef with them is that their prices are high and unless you are a regular customer they are only going to do the basics for you and charge you a lot of money for it.My bad experience with them went like this. I had just purchased a car and wanted to get a good professional opinion on what needed to be repaired. I know about their good reputation and that they have been in business for a long time, so I took it to them. I left the car there and when I returned the car had serious problems shifting into gear (it is a manual transmission). They didnt say anything and I got about 1 mile down 196th and had to take it back. The next day they took it over to their transmission shop and it ended up being a broken shifter linkage – phew not a big expense but still $180... I asked them to give me the parts at cost since the shifter broke with them - but no way, full boat pricing (their transmission shop is even more expensive than their regular shop). I got the feeling they thought I was trying to cheat them, which I was not. The gears were shifting fine before I took it to them.There are plenty of shops out there. I will definitely take my business elsewhere and I recommend that others do the same until KC Martin gets back to the way of doing business that kept them in business for over 40 years. What a huge disappointment.

These folks took great care of us! Had a/c issues on a newer car that turned out to be more of a mystery then expected. They really worked with us on the cost and went above and beyond in getting fixed.

We have been going to KC Martins Automotive for over 25 years when we moved into Lynnwood. Before that my grandma used them religiously. They can usually get to our cars within a day or 2, they are great at caling us with quotes and extra needed work. They usually have a car for me to drive when they are going to have my car for more than a few hours, gone are the days when they didnt charge for the car rentals;-) We usually get a sales or discount rate and who doesnt want to save $$$. I love their personal touch and can talk to most of them on a first name basis. My husband and I highly recommend them.

A relatives car was significantly damaged as a result of running over a curb. Car was towed to KC Martin. They performed a thorough inspection and estimate and warned us that there may be engine and alignment damaged. They were able to replace the engine and transmission pans within days and test drove the vehicle; the alignment and engine were fine. The Estimate was right on; they were very courteous and professional. Our family has had great service from them over the years. Highly recommended!!!!! geo

I have been going to K C Martin for 11 years and they have always been my go to people for my cars...my old Chevy Monte Carlo and now my 06 Scion xA. I was in last week for an inspection and oil change prior to a cross country trip and they gave me an appt promptly and 1 to meet my schedule and they were prompt with their services. You also find your car cleaner than when you left it. Im an old lady so I really appreciate mechanics I can trust. Wish I could take them cross country with me. Who will I go to in FL????

Very helpful even I am hard of hearing and know how to handle special (video call) with sign language. They show what parts were bad or need replace or can wait. Plus very honest company.... I like their service.

This shop is honest. I had a transmission problem not long after I had my car serviced by a different mechanic. KC Martins staff diagnosed that the other mechanic failed to completely refill the transmission fluid after the service. After Martins mechanic topped off the fluid the transmission was back to normal and they only charged me $45.00. I will be coming back to this shop.
