The bread is very good, super delicious, no complaints on the service. Unfortunately the day I was there the bread was uncovered and I saw fruit flies hovering around the bread. They should at least cover it up. But aside from that, the baked good are very tasty

They make great bread and pastries. I’ve only made it to this location, but I’d love to try some of their hot food at their other spots around town. Get a slab of focaccia if it’s available, it is soaked in olive oil. And do not skip on the Kouign Amann. Their version is snail shaped, so every little bit of pastry gets that sugary buttery crunch.

Founded by Zack Hall out of an apartment on Clark Street in West Hollywood, Clark Street Bakery has resided inside Grand Central Market since 2015, skills originally learned at his Wife’s family bakery in the Swedish countryside since refined to make bountiful Breads and elegant Viennoiserie.Located next to a juicery, and along the lay of Eggslut’s inexplicable queue, it is on approach that guests are greeted by one of two servers, the booth’s small size seeing one gather and bag Pastries while his counterpart takes great care preparing Toasts that are topped to-order.Now with a second location in Echo Park, miles from the days of delivering to Lindy & Grundy Butcher Shop both literally and figuratively, a visit to Clark Street begins with tough choices, though it is hard to pass on Toast including robustly flavored Sourdough topped with a big dollop of aged-Butter and Raspberry Jam spread thickly edge-to-edge.Offering $5 “Toast Tuesday,” when LA-staple Avocado Toast can be had for almost half-off, Walnut Raisin Sourdough beneath peppered-Goat Cheese and Honey is worth every penny of $7.50 while $4 Koiugn Amann taste just like what one finds in the bakeries of Bordeaux and Brittany.A bit disappointed in Hall’s Almond Croissant, the lack of Frangipane a bonus but too much Sugar masking Butter and Nuts, a Snickerdoodle immediately righted the ship while pull-apart Monkey Bread topped in Cinnamon-Sugar ate light and crunchy with a well-develop taste of yeast lingering at the end of each bite.

Finally, in my area, I found a coffee shop. Nice and full-flavored, not as expensive as I tried some of the other. All of them have a good coffee and friendly service. The atmosphere is so good, and the internet is quick. For all who love coffee, I would strongly suggest this coffee shop.

Really enjoyed the avocado toast (with optional egg on top). Bread is chewy, crusty and warm. Avocado is freshly smashed with some guacamole like texture and some firmer sliced avocado texture.Topped with red paper flakes, lemon juice and salt for a bright, lightly spiced flavor that balances out the earthiness nicely.Hard boiled egg on top mostly adds visual flair and protein.I managed to eat this with my hands without too much mess which I thought was pretty amazing.Service was good and cheerful which is really impressive when you consider it is hot as [insert favorite term here] in the market

I came for avocado toast and got here early 9 or so and they said they didn’t ship avocados today, but they should be here by 10. I came back at 11 and there were no avocados today. How do you not properly ship avocados on a busy Friday.

Disappointing Saturday morning experience. Luke warm mocha. Flustered, sweaty and slightly rude manager rushing people out the door, overpriced food and day old bread. We are all respecting the COVID safety protocols and if some of your customers aren’t, make sure your mask signage is visible as well as use kindness and politeness when you talk to people. What’s this place? One and done.

Shopping at the Grand Central Market is such a goodie experience. Clark street has a stall there and you can smell their yeasty breads before you see them. They make the best crunchy baguette. It’s so perfect that while you are at the market, you can pick up butter or cheese to go with their baked goods. Definitely check them out.

The baked goods here are incredible. The iced latte I had on one occasion was damn near perfect. In pandemic times I have been making the trip from fountain Valley to this location as regularly as I can. I need to give a HUGE shout out to the dude that seems to run the place. He was kind enough to answer some weird questions I had on multiple occasions (due to my wifes allergies), he assisted me with an embarrassingly late pickup yesterday. Rad people slinging great products.

Late to the party however I visited this place back in maybe May 2019 BC (before covid) and I have to say the only reason why Im rating then now is bcuz I have YET to have avocado toast as Amazing as its made here. I also live very far thus not having the opportunity to go back. I have tried myself to copy there style have yet to come close. It was worth the cost bcuz I think they put like one whole huge haas avocado on 2 slices of bread. The toast itself is so tasty being stacked on with avocado, salt flakes with chili flakes drizzled with olive oil and if I remember correctly a bit of lemon juice!Im only giving 4 stars bcuz you nor I are close enough to each other. Lol

Ube madness!! Love this place. You have to try their ube upside down pie and ube horchata ( dairy free). The flavor of the pie is so true to the Filipino style of ube but its not overpowering or extremely sweet. Very very yummy! There is metered parking down the street and neighborhood parking. Very friendly customer service! High regards to this little coffee shop.

Clark Street made me completely erase any pre-existing notions I have had against bread being sold from a rickety cart. The croissants are easily in the top three I have ever had. The chocolate and almond are both incredibly good, but if youre lucky enough to be there on a day when they have a chocolate-almond croissant, GET IT. Biting into one has the same sound as biting into a potato chip; its that crispy. The standard breads are also fantastic. These folks know how to bake.

Though it almost certainly lives up to its title as the best bread in LA, it is important to note that LA doesnt exactly have a very good bread scene. Clark Street produces some solid stuff, made well and with good ingredients, but it all seems to be missing something – that key element which keeps it from being the stuff of masters. The crusts are gorgeous across the board, but they dont have the crispness of a perfect loaf - feeling almost the slightest bit stale even when fresh. The flavour varies from loaf to loaf, ranging from alright to very pleasant; our favourite being the Alpine, which is a country-style loaf baked with coriander and caraway, and our least favourite being their baguettes, which are plain even for baguettes, and lack that wonderful hint of sourness.

Inexplicably not usually stocked until 9-10 AM in the mornings. Never when GCM opens at 8. I walk past 3 of 5 workweek mornings. Baked goods are of very good quality. But expensive ($7 for bread, $4 for baguette, $3-3.50 for croissant) for what it is -- just a small kiosk.
