I would have given negative stars if Google review would have allowed me.I came for air-filling in my car tires, but the mechanic working in garage doesn’t help me. He said, he don’t have 2 minutes for filling air in tires and I need to make an appointment.He talked to me for 5 min, but he didn’t even have 2 min for filling air. Not even took time to give me tire pressure gauge after asking 2 times.Just Ruining Reputation of Brand - Pep Boys.Man at reception, took another 5 min to book an appointment but didn’t have time for filling air.Mechanic told me to make an appointment for filling air. Just BECAUSE it’s free according to policy of pep boys - he didnt care about customer and from how long customer came for service.This shows today’s money minded management,, and attitude of people who don’t want to work PLUS trying to find excuses for not doing work.Absolutely Ruining Reputation of Brand. !!

Terrible service all around. Terrible customer service and terrible repairs. Even when you call the store what they do is answer saying please hold and you are literally on hold for 15 to 30 minutes MINIMUM! I stopped going/calling here for over a year because of this but I figure it’s been long enough let me try again. - SAME BS!

No stars to give. The Worse service I have ever experienced. I even allowed them 24 hours to get a part that was in a local warehouse. The Store and waiting area was filthy. The bathroom was disgusting. They have had my car for four days, and the part has still not arrived. Never again

I had a flat tire and have tire insurance. I had the appointment for the following day. Rosa checked me in and she explained the process to me. Since my tire had to be special ordered I had to leave the car there. The next day Rosa called me to update me on the time frame for pickup. Pick up later that day was seamless. Overall, I had a great experience.

GO TO A SMALL SHOP. Dropped my vehicle off at 10:45am to get a simple tire replacement, was told it would take a few hours to get done. 6+ hours later and still here waiting. Was told there was 2 cars in front of me, then 20 minutes later, there were 4 cars ahead of me.Its clear that operationally, this Pep Boys location needs some major work. Not enough mechanics on staff, and their appointment and time management/tracking system is garbage.

Went to change my oil, got convinced to do my brakes. Some time later there was a horrible noise everytime I pressed the brakes. Took it to them to check out since they are the ones who did it, they claimed everything was fine. The noise got worse, took it to my mechanic and turns out they broke something while doing the brakes. My mechanic was pretty shocked too because its not an easy piece to break. Terrible. Wont be going there again.

I’ve brought my cars for oil change service here several times and it usually takes quite long but the last time my car wasn’t seen at all. I had an appmt for 1pm and at 2:30 I called for an update after seeing that my car was still in “appointment confirmed”status on the tracking they provided. My car still hadn’t been assigned a technician at 2:30 and when I told the representative I was just going to pick it up, he said “perfect.” I was shocked at his lack of professionalism and compassion for the long wait issue. When I entered the store to pick up my keys, they saw that my car had not been moved and one representative said “that’s the only car that hasn’t been seen,” to another rep. The first rep said she’s taking it and the second one said “ok.” That’s it. No apologies from any of them for my car not having been seen for an hour and a half even with an appmt. Total lack of concern for the major inconvenience they cause customers. Not going back after that.

Very bad experience today, I was waiting for one hour until they move my car inside after my check in with the front desk then when I told them they moved it inside & they keep it for another 40 min in a front of my eyes without touch it, When I talk to them that if they gonna late more than that, I cant stay for nothing, I have to leave they said its ok without any help or care about the time or even try to help me nicely, & they give my keyI booked the appointment with them 4 days ago to avoid this kind of late

You are asked to make an appointment but when you come in you are sitting in a line for about 30 minutes. This is observed, there is only one guy that knows how to do everything.. I might have his name wrong but I think it is Jason and he is great. I just do not understand the process. Hi can I help you, hello I am dropping off. This place is horrible, it’s been horrible for years, my back tire random got a hole, and they don’t have plugs to plug tires so I went to buy one at advanced which is like a minutes drive away, came back and now nobody wants to plug the hole in my tire. This place is horrible.

I stopped by without an appointment for a replacement part that I needed in my vehicle Robert was the counter person that assisted me as I came in the doors I explained to him my dilemma he went to the back and explained to me that there was a 2 hour wait he then went above his Call of Duty to the parking lot with me check out my vehicle and began to assist me replacing the part right there in the parking lot I want to thank Robert he was professional and empathetic to my situation...my vehicle was serviced quickly and immediately by him and he also explained everything he was doing Thank you Robert for making me feel safe and explaining everything to me I will definitely be coming back for all my service and parts needs for the staff and the business awesome experience would highly recommend

They had me waiting for 3 hrs for a OIL CHANGE and to check one tire..I had to approach them after waiting so long only for them to say they FORGOT about my car... they didn’t even have the proper tires even though it said they had 4 in stock... and then after waiting hours I then had to wait even longerrrr MIND YOU I HAD AN 11 am appointment and arrived at 10:40 !

CAR OWNERS BEWARE!!! I took my car in for a basic oil change. I have a manual car and my gear selector was moving like butter before I brought it here. As soon as I got back in the car, my gear selector wasn’t moving properly. I couldn’t get in second at first. I drove the car behind BigLots to see if it was a temporary issue and it wasn’t. The gear selector was sticking at every gear and had to fight it to get it in neutral. I brought it back as soon as I realized the car wasn’t working properly. I spoke with Reynaldo who was less than helpful. I told him the issue and he was trying to convince me that everything was “perfect” when he gave me the car. I showed him the issue and continue to convince me the problem didn’t happen at the garage, even though I didn’t even leave the shopping center. Then he tried to convince me it was the reserve lockout getting stuck and causing the issue (never was an issue AT ALL). Yet he never confirmed or even touched the car to come to that conclusion. After fighting back and forth and even being suggesting that I come back on Monday to see the manager (which I was not having that, the car was not safe to drive on 440 let alone back home), he finally had the mechanic take a look at the car. He also was saying the same, that the problem was probably because the reverse lockout getting stuck (yet again, not a problem that was happening). The mechanic drove it, came back, and said it was shifting fine. I didn’t leave without making sure and the problem was still apparent. Finally they took it back to the garage, opened the hood, and not even a minute passed (literally straight away) before they “found” the problem. I was told they would have needed to lift the car to check what was wrong and apparently they didn’t even need to do that to “find” the issue. Yet again trying to convince me something totally new, how the positive terminal cover from the battery somehow broke on its own (which I just recently got this car at the beginning of the month at the Toyota dealer and I know for a fact that terminal cover was not broken) and somehow wedged itself between my gear selector fork. Also might I add, all of this happened when the car was in the garage for the oil change. The car was driven, by me, to PepBoys and was shifting perfectly fine until they gave it back to me. Now I have to take it back to the dealer because I’m sure with all of this put unnecessary wear on the gear selector fork. Very disappointed in the service, Reynaldo, and the overall foolery that happened today. The people here should be ashamed of themselves because if I didn’t put up a fight to get this issue resolve, my livelihood or worse the lives of others would have been affected if the gear selector would have broke on the highway.

Dont ever go to this pep boys, they are the worst...was told I had a 2 hour service time for my dodge durango 2018, for an oil change. 4 hours later, my vehicle was still untouched in the parking lot. I asked the young lady in the front when my vehicle was to be serviced. I quote oh your next in line, im sorry but that isnt an answer. How long?. One more hour wait plus the actually work to be done. If you wanna waste your ti.e and money on lack luster snails pace work, I recommend this place for all your needs

Financially, very very sketchy. Will try to sneak in another 10% into the agreed price right before you swipe your credit card, doesnt verbally mention fine prints that comes with any rebate (eg. have to apply online within 15 days or offer expires). Even when you do that, you dont get the rebate unless you call, and theyll say oh accounting problem or its lost in the mail, then finally mail it out. I feel bad for their employees, have to lie to the customers in the face while its the bosses who take the dishonest money.

Its not even 6pm yetThey stop taking cars at 7pm.They close at 8pm.All I wanted was a simple oil change.They said it might be a wait up to 3 hours, which I kept reiterating that I was okay with waiting for because I NEEDED MY OIL CHANGED.They made more excuses and ultimately rejected me and refused to service my car which needed an oil change.And the guy sitting behind the desk tells me just add more oil what a F@#*ING JOKE.

The receptionist told me they dont care about online appointments or any emails or confirmations and they they dont have any car after 4.They should synchronize the online appointment system with the store and let store approve the appointments.An hour in total wasted.

This places service is absolutely terrible. Should be a case study, seriously. Horrible. First they talk to you as if they are making you a favor, barely responding to any question you ask. Second, I had to wait two hours to get a tire changed. Two hours (!!). And the problem is not that it takes two hours, because I understand there are other people/services ahead. The problem is that they have no process whatsoever that provides back an estimated waiting time to their customers, so they can organize their lives. Its just bad, so terribly ran... Worst service ever.

Would have given zero stars if it was an option. DO NOT GO HERE. Scheduled an 8am appointment just to get an oil change and it took them an hour and a half. I was then informed by one of the employees that I needed other repairs to the car which amounted to a total of over $2,000. I took my car to another auto body shop for a second opinion and I was informed that NOTHING they told me that was wrong with my car even needed repairs. I only needed my breaks fixed. They totally tried to take advantage of me and I will NOT be going back there again.

Not a single person present in the entire store. All the cash registers were empty. It may as well have been closed. We approached a worker and called to them THREE times and waving at them. They looked at us and turned the corner. They refused to help and refused to attend any of the other customers who also left after finding ZERO workers. Zero stars if it was possible.

Went in to change 4 tires.Good-The customer service reps great people-Changed 4 tires quick and quality workBad-2 alignments there and your car still wont drive strait, took my car to the dealer and they said the front and rear camber was off so I had to buy another alignment from them to fix the problem. $100 dollars down the drain because pepboys messed up the alignment twice, mind you I went in with no alignment problems-Even though the 2nd alignment was on warranty they charge a $30 diagnostic fee to tell you its a alignment and you leave and the alignment is still messed up the 2nd time-$10 dollar hidden shop fee-service appointments are a joke showed up a half hour early to the appointment and it took 6 hours for a alignment, my car didnt even go in till I called around the 5th hour asking if it was doneThe customer service and pep boys resolved the problem.

My experience at this location, Pep Boys rt 440 was excellent. I will always refer my friends and family here. Ray is a great man and took care of me in my time of need and desperation to fix my car. Well deserved one star. The customer service up front at Pep Boys is nice. They are polite and kind but its all a front to sucker you in. It took 4 hours to get my car diagnosed. They said they would call me with updates and I am the one who had to call four times. Then, they said they would order my part the next day and work on my car first thing in the morning. Even though I had dropped my car that day at 2:30pm and they closed at 8 pm. When I called the next day at 8 in the morning, they hadnt ordered the part. I went in an hour later and they still havent ordered the part. Basically, they will give you the run around, make you invest so much time that eventually you just want to get your car fixed and pay whatever they charge. Fortunately, I didnt get scammed. When I went to this pep boys the next morning, I got my car and told them I was taking it to the dealership. They told me the dealership would charge me more. Guess what, the dealership did not charge me more, actually less, and they got all the parts and labor done in three hours. Do not come here to get anything car related done, not unless you like throwing away money and wasting your time.I did successfully buy two water bottles. This is about the only reason this Pep Boys deserves a one star.

Go to a different location! I had an oil change done at this location. They forgot to replace the oil cap on my engine after they did my oil change. Oil spilled and covered the entire right side of my car and completely soaked the engine and everything under the hood. This was a complete mess and inconvenience; not to mention extremely dangerous. When I called to notify them and ask them to fix it, they told me they were too busy and to come the next day. Completely unprofessional and absence of customer service. I understand that mistakes happen, but when they do you need to make it right, and that was not the case here. Highly recommend to go to a different location.

The service is excellent and staff is professional. Ive used this Pep Boys for tire patches, replacement tires, and a battery change. The prices are fair and scheduling appointments is never a problem. The tire replacements took about three hours or so, which is the typical wait time for this service. There is a waiting area with phone chargers that comes in handy.

(Edited Update) Took my Mercedes here for a simple oil change and havent been able to drive it for months. They first cracked my oil pan. I picked up my car to find it shaking while running. They literally told me Not our problem. After having further inspections, it was found they had broke both motor mounts while replacing my oil pan. While replacing the motor mounts, it was found that my new oil pan they installed was leaking because the incorrect sealant was used. That had to be redone and all new oil put in. In total, a $80 oil change has amounted to a staggering $5500 worth of repairs/parts. Thankfully, Pep Boys (not sure if corporate alone or if owner as well) has paid for all repairs. So my one star is reflective of my experience with the staff/service of this location alone.

Used to love this store. Went there on Friday evening 5PM for a bulb. Young lady told me that she wouldnt be able to get to it because they were UNDER STAFF. Under staff on a Friday, manager should be FIRED. No store should be UNDER STAFF on a weekend. Went to another Pep Boys & got very good service.

I originally brought my vehicle to the Pep Boys on Kennedy Blvd but they were utterly useless. I needed my cars alignment fixed (other shop said their alignment machine was broken) and I needed it fixed fast. I noticed they had an appointment available for later that day and I booked it and went. The kid at the desk was very helpful and nice, he was the only positive part of my time there. When they finished, they said a part was bent and it could never be perfectly straight until I fixed it. I agreed because I knew which part he was talking about and I knew the original shop that did my alignment (in Pine Brook) got it extremely close to center and straight, but not quite 100%, but it was livable and acceptable. Well, I didnt think when the kid said it could never be perfect that it would end up like it did.When I say that I had to hold my wheel about 25 degrees left to keep it straight, I mean it. The steering wheel was ABSURDLY off center. I have never gotten an alignment job this horrible. Ive had shops leave my wheel slightly off center, and I know the part needing replacement doesnt make things easier, but why did the Pine Brook Pep Boys get 99% to dead center and these didnt. It actually ended up WORSE than what I came in with. Whoever did my alignment clearly was cockeyed or blind. Because if straight is so far to the left, then Id hate to see what they do with other peoples cars.Another bad experience here is that any time I order a part online that shows available today it is never available today. First time around I ordered 2 parts totaling $400 and when I called near the end of the day to inquire, they said oops, it has to be ordered and will take 3-5 days.And a few days ago I ordered a cam sensor that shows as in stock and available today and I am still waiting for them to figure it all out.Go here to buy little bits and pieces they have in store, but nothing more. Dont bother getting work done on your car, and dont bother with those parts reservations you can do online.

I bought four tires from amazon and made an online reservation from here for replacing and balance. Reasons for each missing stars;1) they couldnt find my reservation. I had an excellent experience at this location. I came on a Saturday late-afternoon because my driver-side headlight was out. The man behind the counter instructed me to wait in the waiting area while they checked my car, which they did immediately. Then the same man came back about 5 minute later and told me that the headlight was fine-- they had tightened it in its socket and the light came back on. I was good to go at no charge. They could easily have charged me for the headlight replacement and I never would have known the difference. They were both quick and honest-- kudos and thank you!

Very bad experience. Paid $320 for brand new tires for my 2015 Honda Civic, they put on tires, and now the TPMS light keeps coming on. To make matters worse, they won’t accept responsibility for it. Considering taking legal action. Will never go here again. UPDATE: went to another pep boys in union and turns out the WRONG size tire was installed by 440 pep boys and my car was driving uneven. Will never come to this location ever again.

FIRST OF ALL THEY ALL ARE NICE AND I WOULD DEFINATELY GO AGAIN. So, I took my 2013 Mustang for oil change and tire rotation is free with that. So he told me to wait 40 mints and i said ok but eventually it took them about hour for oil change but it didnt really matter because i was going around to the shop behind the Pep Boys.When i came back for car they didnt rotate my tires so i told them and then the manager apologize for me, rotate the tires in 10 mints and hook me up with Free Oil change for next car. Im so happy about that. DESERVE 5 stars for the service but 4 because the guy who forget.

Bought a battery here. Ordered it online, confirmed in store that it was the right battery for my car. Turns out my car was not compatible with AGM batteries and it shorted a fuse. They replaced the battery and fuse but to be honest, they should have caught the error in the first place.I will say customer service was very good and they stood behind their work. Id be willing to give them another try.

Positive: Theyre open late (which is the only reason I come here). In my experiences - Ive never had any issues with the repairs and the employees at the service desk were polite and professional.Negative: I am ALWAYS waiting for HOURS for my car to be seen. I hate the wait time! Doesnt matter what day of the week or time. I see the technicians/mechanics walking in and out of the garage and walking back and forth inside the garage just walking slowly without a care in the world. And they blast the music in there so loud you hear it in the store. That is unprofessional. What really pissed me off is the sign in the waiting area about express service for batteries, tire service, etc and Im still waiting for 2 hrs just for them to check my battery to see if I need a replacement. Really?! I shouldve just went to Auto Zone.Please Pep Boys do an audit of this location. Theyre always so slow and make you wait forever.

Called during lunch to make a oil change for my car I really needed done. I made a appointment for 6:30pm. I get there at 6:20pm and sit in waiting area. It’s then 7:35pm and I asks employee how’s it going and he says he still has 2 other cars before me. There was only one other guy in waiting room since I got there. What’s the point of making a appointment to sit there with so many other people going before me. Avoid this place for oil changes.
