Had a break down on my way to Nebraska. Luckily I was a mile away from maxwell auto. Got before the shop opened and was welcomed in for coffee. The part I needed was on back order. Chris came in fixed the existing part enough to get me home on Friday, while servicing vehicles that were already in the shop and customers dropping off their vehicles. Thank you Chris. The tech are knowledgable. The shop stays busy. They take the time to actually explain something if you dont understand (with in reason) the guy that does the alignment is really good at them can do custom alignments. They work on alot of Audis, BMWs, and European cars but still work on American stuff to.

Professional and prompt, these guys diagnosed and repaired my Audi A4 in 3 hours, something the dealer couldnt do in 2.5 months. Everyone was very friendly and the mechanic talked me through everything he thought was wrong with the car and what we would be replacing, even bringing out a faulty part for me to take a look at. Definitely have earned my service from now on.

I had trouble with the AC on my VW Jetta and they worked on it until it was perfect! I put a lot of miles on my car with my daily commute and weekend travel and Chris even graciously gave me a loaner car to use for as long as I needed. I would recommend them to ANYONE!! Ive been going to see Chris and the guys at Maxwell Auto for about 10 years now, and I wont take my vehicles anywhere else. Their prices are great, and the service is amazing. They are always honest and very friendly. They let me know what work needs done and what is unnecessary. I always feel like they are looking out for me which I cant say for other repair shops I have visited in the past. If you give Maxwell Auto a chance you wont need to go anywhere else. I have had large and small jobs done and I always leave with a good feeling and know that they stand behind their work.

Ive used Maxwell for a few jobs, both large and small. This is a great shop!My daughters VW beetle needed some repairs, after she moved from Texas to Davenport.I did some searching for a shop in the area, made some calls to talk to different shops, asking some Questions about the repair she needed. ( I own a German car shop in Texas, so i know what i have to ask, and the answers i want to hear). I talked to Chris and did feel very comfortable with the answers i got.Chris is straight forward and knows his stuff, and they do great work.It is well worth it for my daughter to drive 60 miles to have Chris and the crew take care of her car.Keep up the good work Guys!

Over the past year, Ive gotten to know the guys at Maxwell automotive. Every time I have taken my Audi A4 here for any work, it has been done quickly, completely, and with the highest level of quality. OK to start off, I never usually review places but i feel Maxwell auto is very deserving of a 5 star review, My Audi has a ton of issues and Chris has helped me make a game plan to fix all the issues. they will keep you posted on all the problems they find on your car and will even let you look at the issue for yourself in the shop. They are a true honest mechanic shop and will do anything to help you get your car back on the road. they also keep it in budget. The main thing i see is Chris doesnt put money first, He puts his customers first and gets the job done.

Chris, and JC do great work, and are honest about what needs fixed. I’ve been having them work on my truck for years now. I travel for work a lot, and they are always able to squeeze me in for an oil change, or even fix a break line with no notice to keep me on the road.

Had a rough night breaking down near Iowa City. Silver lining was to have my car taken care of quick and properly with Maxwell Auto. These guys are extremely polite and courteous to any customer needs. They establish relationships and will do the job the right way.The owner came in sick and I saw him work his tail off the whole 3+ hours I was there. If he did something 5 seconds later than he told me he would, he apologized. Only 5 seconds! These guys are busy but always have their customers as their priority. In a world of selfish people, it is refreshing to see a business who is genuine and proper. If you choose Maxwell Auto, you will not be disappointed. My husband and I normally do all of our vehicle maintenance ourselves, but I ended up going to Maxwell Automotive once because we just didnt have the time to tear into my car and it was having some issues. Im the daughter of two army mechanics, so while I dont speak Car and Driver, I do know enough about car mechanics to know when someone is trying to screw me over, and unfortunately as a female in my 20s, this normally happens whenever I go into any automotive store/shop. It was a relief to work with someone who didnt try to force a bunch of unnecessary parts/repairs on me because they thought I wouldnt know any better. I also very much so appreciated that they not only took care of the issues I went in for but also gave me a 25K, 50K, and 100K mile action plan for things to keep an eye on with my car. Everything they told me lined up with what Id already planned out for future maintenance. Ill definitely go back to Maxwell if my family is ever unable to do the work ourselves again.

Ive been taking my VW to these guys for a few years now, and love the work they do. Chris has done quite a bit of work on my car by this point, and I always walk away with the sense that he and his team care as much about my car running well as I do. Theyre very knowledgeable and have always been up front with me. Chris explains any problems very clearly, and lets me know if there are any problems I should be looking out for down the road so we can catch them early. These are definitely the guys you want taking care of your car.

My daughters car broke the first week in college. The tow truck driver recommended Maxwell auto. Took a leap of faith and had it towed it there. To save you a lot of time, anxiety and money look no further. Chris and his team are diligent, honest, reasonable and great communicators. If something takes 15 mins to fix, he charges you for 15 mins not an hour like other places. He touched base everyday and I never felt rushed or felt I was bothering him with my stupid questions. He a true professional, which are hard to find these days. FYI Ive never reviewed anything ever before. After dealing with Chris I just had to, hes earned the praise!

These guys are AWESOME. Two months after a collision, still my VW GTI wasnt right. I had been to the VW dealership and even though they charged me to diagnose, they failed to identify the problem. I then learned of Maxwell Auto.Chris had it in the air 15 minutes and told me what the problem was, remaining broken and missing parts. Parts were ordered and 2 days later I, finally, had my car back to original struggling with it for the prior 2 months after the local dealership failed miserably.
