Wonderful coffee and great baristas! All the baristas that I have met here are very knowledgeable and friendly. This drink was great and looked even better before I left the store!

We were looking for mimosas and everywhere seemed packed. I walked by this coffee shop and saw some wine and champagne bottles so I sent my hubby in to ask. And we were offered a chai tea mimosas. I wasnt sure about it but thought I will try it. Amazing!!! What a great idea. Delish! A must try!

I am a huge coffee drinker, I walked in in the mood to try something different. I told him I liked my coffee black normally and well he surprised me with a populate cinnamon honey coffee latte and it was AMAZING! VERY NICE GENTLEMAN AS WELL!

Ferris always is a great selection for a great cup of coffee. All of their spaces are definitely a nice place to sit and enjoy your favorite beverage. I believe they offer sort of a mug club too? Go try a good pour-over or a latte next time your in the hunt.

If youre looking for good coffee in Grand Rapids, Madcap will probably top your list. However, if you dont like acidic coffee, Madcap will be a terrible experience. They do what they do very well, but its not for everyone. To that end, I much prefer Ferris Coffee when visiting Grand Rapids. With several locations across town, this location is one block from Madcap in downtown GR. Heres whats to love:1) Coffee: Its quality. My latte was perfectly brewed and mixed- creamy and silky. The coffee menu is diverse, offering something to every palate.2) Happy hour: They have a $2 Founders beer offer during the day. At 11am, our friend ordered a glass and was in heaven.3) Staff: They are very friendly and passionate about the city. Ask them for recommendations nearby.Ferris is one of my favorite coffee shops in Grand Rapids.

My favorite coffee in Grand Rapids. Im in Grand Rapids a couple weeks a year and I love the amount of small coffee shops in the area. Out of all of them that Ive tried, Ferris is my favorite. Great staff that really know what they are doing, great coffee and fair prices.

So sad this one was such a let down compared to Ottawa location. They gave me half the espresso shots I paid for and used dairy milk which made me sick to my stomach.

1st time vist. Very disappointed in the coffee. My Americano purchased was very sour, full of citrus flavors, and tasted awful. It was promptly disposed of just wasting my $4.50 ($3.50 and tip). They possibly rushed the preparation, had bad beans, poor grinds, under roasted, or countless other possibilities but this should never be the case for a cafe of this stature.

Top notch coffee and tea. Cant go wrong stopping by for a quick pick-me-up.I was rather hard on Ferris for their coffee about a year ago. But I would come for the awesome tea selection and snacks. Ferris has a huge hand up on other shops when it comes to snacks and treats with their nut roasting business and all. But recently, it seems to me that their coffee game is on point. Now Im excited to try there new coffees right when they come out.Another advantage Ferris has is their expert preparation of whatever beverage you order. The staff are super friendly and are extremely knowledgeable about the products they sell. You can tell the staff have a passion for coffee.Bottom line is everyone should stop in and give them a shot to impress you. Theyre good.

Nice extension of Ferris coffee right in the heart of downtown. Has a couple food options but your here for the coffee anyways. Tried a bunch of different coffees and teas. Very welcoming atmosphere. Would come back. PS you can get beer and wine here too

Friendly service. Found the coffee to be a bit acidic but I only tried one blend. It was a good pick-me-up. Seems like a happening crowd of patrons as this is a college town. Employee staffing the counter was multitasking the entire time I was there making sure the floors and equipment were clean while tending to customers. Nice place to sit down and slow down for a bit before heading out for your event or something.

Coffee here is incredible! Each cup Ive had tastes wonderful and even more impressive is the latte art. Highly recommend for the coffee alone. The space itself is small, but works great for a casual meeting place.

I believe that Ferris Coffee and Nut Shop offers a wonderful cup of coffee, whether you get the regular coffee out of a pot or one of their extraordinary pour overs, of which there are at least four different kinds. These cost $5 a piece except on Thursday when theyre marked down to $3. Last week I treated myself to a $7.00 Colombian Heritage coffee, I was disappointed, it was not as extraordinary as I thought it should have been for the price. The young people that work there are extremely kind and willing to help me in my age, as it is difficult for me to carry and handle their coffees at my point in life. I personally think the company made a mistake when they moved the sale of their nuts and various treats of out of the coffee shop to a different location. All in all, I think Ferris Coffee and Nut Shop is one of the finest of its type in the city!

My favorite Ferris location! The baristas always greet you with a smile and are very helpful. Cant go wrong with just a plain cup of coffee here. My only complaint is that the tables are a tad small if you intend to do work with more than just a laptop.

I enjoyed the simple menu and the different types of seating available. I noticed that there are plenty of plugs available underneath their cushioned seating attached to the wall.

Little disappointed in my experience..my sister and I were looking forward to getting some coffee here(we love visiting new coffee shops in GR!). We were exploring Art Prize and around 7:15 decided to make our way to this location but ended up getting lost and didnt walk in the door until 7:44pm. We enter and there are two girls at the counter cleaning and what not. We didnt see any menus so we were kinda looking around and one of the girls says are you here for the art? I say no,wed like to get some coffee, are you still serving?She looked down at the clock and looks back at me with a not so pleasant face and says we close at 8....I asked if they were serving. NOT when they closed. I was shocked by her rude attitude and said well go somewhere else and walked out.I worked at a coffee shop for 3 years. I would have been FIRED had I responded to a customer like that. Youre open until 8, right? Not 7:45?Guys, I NEVER write reviews but I was so excited to go here and left with no coffee and upset with the customer service. Sure, we couldve demanded they make coffee, but I wouldve preferred to have heard them say you made it in time! What can we make for you?Sorely disappointed.

Great environment, nice coffee, cute decoration, but terrible service/fraud. Recently, my business partner and I often came in. We love to share 1 regular coffee since we found it is the perfect amount for our appetite. Each of us always got a full cup of the tiny size (half of the regular small size).But today each of us got half of the tinny cup. It means we paid $4 for about 5 oz coffee. I was confused why we got so little coffee, so I asked the guy and he said this is how much cappuccino we make at Ferris.Then I googled it that a regular cup of cappuccino is about 12 oz. It was a fraud!! I couldnt believe this happened and he told me this is how much coffee they made for customers?? Worst experience I ever had in Ferris. I was upset and disappointed!!!As a customer server, by chances if you are unhappy about your consumers sharing a cup of coffee, you can tell us or we can can pay more for sharing, thats all fine. We love Ferris so we are willing to pay for the high quality coffee.But you cant cheat on the quantity and quality of your products. Remember when you work for a brand, you are the representative of that brand in front of your costumers. Ive worked in the costumer service industry for 9+ years. Employees business ethics is always essential for a brand. I hope this wont happen to other costumers again.

Coffee was okay and atmosphere was great, but service was awful. Barista only acknowledged certain guests and was actually friendly to them (which was concerning). As soon as I walked in, I was never greeted or thanked for purchasing a coffee (I still gave a tip). Good service, great coffee and chill atmosphere are all important to me.

Amazing coffee, and amazing customer service. I went into GR to work in a coffee shop. I ended up at ferris by accident. But I am so glad. There was only one employees there but she was unbelievably friendly. It made me want to come back and be a regular.

Great new location! Ferris has always churned out awesome different but delicious drinks. I myself am a tea person, and they have plenty of options. My go-to is the Clouds of Mist and a gluten free and vegan Rise GR pastry!

I love the older Ferris Coffee location (on Winter) -- I love the staff, the ambience, the coffee...legitimately everything! Then, when they opened this new location, I was blown away by how beautiful it was. The floors, the countertops, the glittering new machines...the most beautiful coffee shop in Grand Rapids, in my opinion. Also, the people who work there are so lovely and kind and I always engage in the most wonderful conversations with them when I sit at the counter. Vegan, GF pastries + coffee made with TLC + good conversations = the most wonderful coffee shop experience. Also great for studying because theres so much variation in seating -- and great for making new friends. So many people know each other and its such a great community. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Occasionally a line almost out the door because of there usually being one barista, but I patiently waited and was very pleased with the coffee!

The coffee is yummy, but the service is rude. biggest pet peeve is when you tip, they see you tip, and dont say thank you. if your in customer service, just be nice and smile, really is a big part if the job.

I like this place for consistently good coffee in a relatively quiet atmosphere. I met my fiancé here during Art Prize 2015 so it holds a special place in my heart!

I did a whirldwind tour of all the coffee roasteries in Grand Rapids and this one ended up being my favorite. Consistently excellent, like a few other roasteries in town, but The Misty, an Ethiopian single origin if i recall correctly, in an espresso drink is just not to be missed. Bright, and fruity, as youd expect, but surprisingly full bodied, nutty, and sweet too. I felt it was best as a cortado. Go there soon as I believe they only get this late summer to fall

The baristas are kind and the coffee shop is bright and welcoming with plenty of space to sit and work or chat with friends.
