They were honest and upfront with me about a complication with the transmission. They resolved the issue after spending many extra hours figuring it out. They were reasonably priced and guaranteed the transmission for 18,000 miles. I highly recommend this business.

So my trucks fly wheel was chipped for years. Randomly making my starter, alternator and battery go out... All at once. 3 different times. 3 different shops just fixed them 3. And I would just wait to be broke down again. Until I found this shop and told them what was happening. They did a free diagnosis then actually fixed my truck. Its such a relief to have a reliable vehicle again after so long. Thank you guys. Great shop. I definitely recommend to everyone.

This company will give you a quote on doing a job, then call you after they started the job, to tell you the cost has doubled. Very unprofessional and extremely rude to my daughter and son in law. We will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau

Very unprofessional business! They could care less about making an issue right with customers, No communication between owner and employees which leads to quotes turning into a halfway torn down transmission before even giving the go ahead to do so. Instead of explaining and trying to make it right they suggest just parting out vehicle.... Acted worse than a child throwing everything in the back after demanding payment for the complete tear down when that wasnt agreed to do so.

Bought a vehicle that ended up needing a new transmission. Called Grand Rapids Transmission Service at 4:30 and asked if I could have the vehicle towed to the shop after hours. The following day they called and told me it needed a new transmission talked me through several options and shared what might be my best option. After work I headed down to check in and they walked me through what had failed on the vehicle, Shared with me how they build the transmission stronger to prevent issues in the future. The following day I received a phone call that the vehicle was done and was actually cheaper then the price I was quoted! I loved that they kept me informed along the whole process.

Was just there today for a transmission fluid change. They were great, they let me know what they were doing and what to look at down the road. At a time when people are trying to just make a buck, this was a nice change. I would highly recommend them, good service and fair prices. Thanks guys

GR Transmission is fantastic! They quoted me over $900 less than anyone around for a full transmission swap. We ran into some snags and the replacement transmission took an extra 3-ish days to get shipped in, but the communication from these guys was AWESOME! And they did their best to keep me in the loop as frustrating as the situation was for everyone. Ryan even did some additional work on my car to fix my exhaust and replace a cracked CV shaft in the time where they had it in the shop waiting for the transmission to come in. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone!!

I am disappointed with GR Transmission Services organization and customer service. On September 22nd I called GR Transmission to schedule a simple transmission service for my vehicle. They told me to bring in my vehicle on Wednesday October 9th (a date which does not exist in 2020) and then ended the call. I had to immediately call back to confirm that they meant either Wednesday October 7th or Friday October 9th, in which they confirmed my appointment was scheduled on the 7th. Although that was a mild inconvenience, when I brought my car in they claimed I was not on their schedule at all! They offered to take my contact information and call me back to reschedule, but I have now waited 4 business days and have not heard anything back from GR Transmission. I do not anticipate hearing back from them anymore... Perhaps they do excellent work on transmissions, but I would not trust my car at an unorganized shop that fails to contact a customer when an issue arises.

Ryan and team did a phenomenal job. Timely and very communicative on updates and changes and provided excellent customer service. Much better than at a Dealer and at a fair price.

Sent an odd job to these guys and they beat all my expectations. The total was even less than the original quote, which was already the best price I had found after calling all around town. Two fleet vehicles good to go after only a day. Ill be bringing my business back here.

I am putting this review for my sister-in-law because she doesn’t have a computer. My wife and her sister drove to Kalamazoo from Grand Rapids and the transmission line broke and all the fluids ran out and burned the transmission out. She took her car to an repair shop down the street from this transmission shop and that shop repaired the lines but since all the transmission fluid had ran out the transmission had to be rebuilt and the Grand Rapids Transmission Shop did a wonderful job getting my sister-in-law back on the road and also gave her an year warranty on the transmission and my sister-in-law is happy again!

Very honest company, I brought my truck there thinking it needed a new transmission Ryan found that the previous shop I went to installed the wrong transmission filter Which caused my transmission to act like it was going out, They installed the correct filter which cost just a fraction of a new transmission, Thank you again for your honesty, This situation would have been very easy for someone to take advantage. It was worth the wait!When my transmission went out and I called them they where scheduling 1 week out. Once my car was in the shop it only took 4 days to get my car back. there is a break in period but once thats over and you can give it more power you will feel the difference in the transmission from the parts they use, faster gear changes and it grabs harder. I couldent be happier with the work they did.

DO NOT COME HERE. MY CAR LEFT IN WORSE CONDITION THAN IT CAME IN. I came to get my shift cable replaced. That was the only major problem with my car. After they replaced the cable and I picked up the car, not even two hours later, my car would not accelerate past 40 (actually starts DEcelerating the more I hit the gas). They put me in danger because I was entering the highway when this happened (and the car was on the highway just fine 2 days earlier). Instead of offering to fix the car or give me a refund, they tell me that its not their problem and that they cant do anything about it. I paid $600 (yes $600) for them to break my car. I am furious.

We had our transmission rebuilt here and it was far less than anyone else quoted. Ryan honoured the warranty and was very timely and helpful when something different went wrong. Would definitely recommend!

I worked with Ryan at Grand Rapids Transmission Service when I had a shift solenoid fail on my vehicle. He was very knowledgeable and helpful with the issues that I was having. I was able to get my vehicle in pretty quickly, and it was fixed in a few hours. Two other shops in the area needed much more time and had significantly higher prices (nearly double). Worst experience of my life they told me I needed a new transmission when I didnt. They knock a hole in my muffler now my car sound like a lawnmower. I never make reviews but this shop suck stay far away not honest people at all.
