Everyone here that I spoke to was fantastic, very professional, very polite. They took the time to explain everything to me which I greatly appreciate. I highly recommend this place for any servicing needs. Best experience I’ve ever had dealing with maintenance on my truck.
The first time was ok, the second time I went back Ive noticed such a difference, the rest room was dirty, the waiting area was dirty, wasnt stocked with anything ( coffee, tea) had Nats all over the place couldnt eat there if I wanted to. After my car was done being worked on (oil change)my cars computer wasnt reset so it looked like nothing was done, it seemed more like a rushed job....I recommended my friend go before my second visit and he had a horrible experience, ill take my chances some where else next time
No workers available to perform inspections. Perhaps this is a good place for someone with appropriate training to apply for a job.

The workers at this NTB were awesome. I own an old popup camper and needed to replace my tires. They had what I needed in stock and were able to get me scheduled the next day. The guy I spoke with on the phone said it would take about 45 minutes and man was he spot on with that estimate. They removed my old tires and swapped them with the new tires (including my spare so 3 total). They even checked the tires and brakes on my towing vehicle for free while I waited. I was very happy with the cost of services. I honestly expected to pay about $75 more than I ended up spending so I count that as a win. Id recommend this shop any day. Thanks for the good work!
Service was efficient and quick. I got off work at 630 drove there and even though they closed at 7 they replaced my tire in my time of need, very considerate and nice employees.

Got there at 7:45am on sat jan 23 to get our cars in early for an inspection. (Last weekend we arrived a little after opening and they were already booked up so we came back the following weekend early, at their recommendation). Both my wife and I dropped our cars off, I submitted my information first handed the keys off, conversation about them getting number 2 in the district or whatever it was, for their customer service (irony for this story) and we went off to wait at the target that’s close by. Not too bad, my wife gets a call around 9:30ish saying her car is finished and mine is about to be pulled back. Odd? Right, I handed my information in first so should be first in first out. No big deal... 10am rolls around, jeep is still sitting there. 11 rolls around, 12 comes and goes, jeep still sitting there. I can only shop at target for so long (I know), Mind you the whole time, front desk Larry is telling me that they’re about to take it back, they’re about to take it back, they’re working on a nightmare jeep getting inspected(but I brought my jeep in first so I’m confused).We try to find out what’s wrong and all I get is *fumbling over words* “oh well, it’s the order of the pile and organization” blah blah all things that sound like they have nothing to do with me because I don’t work there ( later find out, front desk Larry put my information somewhere else??? which resulted in my car not getting worked on for over 5 hours for an INSPECTION?????? I should have taken my business elsewhere. You didn’t even deserve the 20 bucks I spent on the inspection that you guys wanted over 1000 on for some minor work (brake pads, steering stabilizer...really????) (Which was not done- I’ll do the work myself because that’s ridiculous)I live almost an hour away, so it was a huge inconvenience to spend my whole Saturday there. The work is what it is, but for y’all to not even APOLOGIZE or say anything for a mistake y’all made speaks volumes and that was unacceptable. Instead of making small talk and priding yourself in your excellent customer service and trying to essentially be in a friendly competition with another store, you should actually provide customer service. If there is a corporate response (auto reply most likely going to tell me to fill out some other survey to provide feedback) it will not be responded to, it should have been addressed and corrected immediately there and it was not, which is concerning. No one took responsibility, no one. At all. Seemed like everyone was hiding to avoid having to not face their mistake. Just own up and say you screwed up. Well, If you’ve stayed this long, maybe you’re wondering where front desk Larry was that caused this whole screw up... of course no where to be found.
The people who work at this location are wonderful. The company website messed up and didn’t convey the correct info to the shop regarding my appointment. When I got to the shop for my appointment we found out about the issue and my appointment had to be pushed back by a day. They got me rescheduled for the following day and my truck was the first one to enter the shop. Throughout the entire process the employees seemed to be genuinely apologetic for the situation and bent over backwards to help me out even though it was in no way their fault. I don’t recommend visiting the NTB website but I highly recommend visiting this shop.
Some of the best prices I have seen Im glad they took over merchants also they fit me in on an hours notice had my tire in stock have an online database of their stock in difference stores the way a tire shop should be run in 2018 everybody working was prompt right on time they topped off all my fluids for free
Employees were very nice n professional. Timothy my mechanic explained everything to me that was going on with my car n fixed my A.C. 👍The price made me cry 😥but I needed my A.C. JASON LEWIS the manager was Super nice and he made me feel at home n he also explained the pricing to me. I will be recommending others to go NTB. Good job you guys.
We got there around 115pm and guy stated should be done by 250 didnt take care until 340 and just now leaving 415. Not happy very slow service
Cant say enough positive comments about this place. Compared pricing on oil changes and tire rotation and they were tops. Plus, while waiting its walkable to several popular stores. Im now a convert to NTB!
A couple guys seem to be fairly helpful but overall the experience was not good. Paid quite a bit more than I was expecting as well as took twice as long as it should have and didnt do everything I asked. Also overly worried about masks

Tires are fine, but for some odd reason my hood was up after tire service. thats questionable.The reason I will never go back is because they tried to pull a fast one over on my husband and I, the guy comes in and tells us our rack and pinion is shot and we are about to lose out power steering, he makes it sound urgent, my husband( a former diesel mechanic turned white collar,because he got tired of busting his knuckles) asked to see it first, the guys tone immediately changed, and he hesitantly said yes. Upon inspection all my husband found was blowback from a small dare I say minute power steering pump leak that we already knew about since our car is 12 years old, and its nothing he is greatly concerned about at this time. Then we were quoted over $1000 for replacing a $100 part that my husband can do in 2 hours, the mark up on the part was $664.00 (i do not think so), then the guy says if you bring in the written quote the service manager would give us 10% off. ahh..no how about 1/2 of that nonsense quote off.Needless to say we will not be repeat customers.
Called in last minute as I was heading out of town and Jason, the store manager, went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. I bought a set of aftermarket wheels that I needed 4 tires mounted and balanced on, along with an alignment. Jason asked that I drop it off by 12 and he would have it ready by 5. I decided to wait on it and I was out well before 5. Couldnt be happier. His staff is awesome as well. The technician made sure he let me know where the wheel lock was and even loaded up my OEM wheels. I truly appreciate the level of professionalism and courtesy that I was shown. My Sequoia rides great, no vibration, steering wheel is centered perfectly and best of all, they programmed the new TPMS sensors! I will definitely be returning in the future. Thanks guys
Lies & Tricks With BUY 2 GET 2 ScamI got ripped off here before with this deal when they didnt do the alignment and I had to have 3 set of front tires replaced with 18 months.I had to fight and argue everytime to get the warranty service and they still sneak a Shop Supply & Disposal charge in no matter what .You can change your name from Merchants if you like but its your company policies and customer service that makes you the worst choice for vehicle service.

I had an appointment to get my car aligned at 2:30 on Friday. I took a half day off from work in Virginia Beach and I got there an hour early. When I got there, the manager told me he had sent his guys home early because they were slow and had no work, so I would have to schedule the alignment for another day.So I made an appointment for the next day, Saturday, at 11.am. I put my keys in the drop box that night so I would not have to drive my car to and from the shop again.The next day, I called them around 12 pm to see if the car was ready. They told me they did not have the car, so I asked them if they checked the drop box. They said they had not. But they would see if they could fit me in.Fit me in? I now have had two appointments within a 24 hour window.Very disorganized, they do not honor your time. I tried making an appointment twice because I have limited time with my job. It got me no where, with no attempt on their part to fix the situation. I will not be making an appointment there again, theres no point. Poor customer service, not a way any business should be.

Daniel was welcoming and knowledgeable going over the 120,000mile list of suggested items. I chose to have my oil changed and returned a few days later to purchase a new battery at his warning.The waiting area was clean which made waiting more enjoyable. I made an appointment and was taken promptly, finished quickly.Because of these factors I returned to get your battery with a 2 year warranty which is more expensive than others. My auto is a 2004 and will only get something that means it can keep moving -- it is more than a declining asset!

Absolutely terrible, slow, I made a scheduled appointment for manufacturing defect of tires and the manager put another customer ahead of me, and is trying to charge me for a manufacturing defect
These people are the stereotype scam automobile repair shop. You bring your car in and they say you have to pay them thousands to get everything repaired to pass inspection. You bring it somewhere else and its fine. Steer clear of this business.
My girlfriend went to get a simple oil change, the came at her with a bunch of things they claimed needed to be replaced and I can assure you that they did not. So they changed her oil, let her leave after being rude to her for not buying their stuff. She gets home and looks to see hat oil leak she had and behold they left her oil cap off and just sitting there. There was most of the oil all over her engine. So I take it back and show them and they complied however they made very little effort to clean the oil off and were rude about it all. I had to point out again that oil was still everywhere to which they just doused it in break cleaner. I will never return to this location and likely this business.

Decided to take my car here on a monday afternoon to get my inspection done i was assured the car would be inspection would be done by tuesday. Tuesday morning i received a call informing me my car had failed and it would cost $1600 to fix a serpentine belt, 2 motor mounts, 4 tires. they asked me over the phone if they should begin working i responded no and then they asked if i would like to apply for a credit card where i also responded no. Tuesday my dad (a certified state inspector) showed up to pay off the 20$ fee for the inspection and to take the car back and do it himself they refused to let it go because the inspector was not in at the time and he had failed to place a inspection failed sticker on it 0/10 would never recommend coming here not only did my car pass inspection after this but none of the parts they claimed needed replacing or fixing was mandatory to pass.
Emmanuel and Brian was very helpful and professional. They were kind enough to stay an hour after they closed to get us back on the road. Without their help, we would have been stranded hours away from home. We are now able to make it back with a peace of mind. We highly recommend this place.

Made an appointment for 11am to have 1 tire changed.I was assured that it won’t take long and I’ll be notified once done.So we drop the car off and go to lunch and a movie.Having never received a call that the job was done, I figured they just forgot.We pull up to NTB around 4pm to see that my car hadn’t been touched the entire time.We went in to see what had happened and the response we received was that “we’re a few men short today so we’re behind.”Once we showed how annoyed/angry we were, they immediately changed the tire and I was out of there in about 30 minutes.Apparently the appointments don’t mean much on a Saturday when there are higher paying walk-in customers.
My Lexus Had Broke Down At My Job and The Employees At NTB Was Nice enough to tow it for me and see what was wrong with my lexus truck. They came back and told me everything that I should get fixed on my truck and also was very professional and had reasonable prices also. I would recommend them to my family, friends, and strangers. Everything was 5 star service.
Jason was very respectful and courteous and offered to pick up tires with his own vehicle that was in the warehouse nearby to try to speed the process up.
Bailey was very helpful when I asked about tire mounting. Charlie was helpful by showing, and explaining to me how my tires would be mounted on my Jeep. Hands down, great customer service from the time I walked in, to the time Bailey and Charlie helped load my tires into my trailer.
FIVE STAR REVIEW!Its Tuesday at 7:37pm. NTB closes at 7pm.I caught a flat at 6:55pm and called NTB because they were closest. Bailey happily told me to keep driving to them even though they were closing.7:45pm I have a new tire on my vehicle. David did a great job of informing me of issues with my tire and car. Great service, will be back!!
While traveling along I-95 I found a knot in my right front tire. This was an emergency and NTB was the only thing open and willing to assist me in my travels. The staff took my vehicle right away and matched the tire. Keep in mind that this was a high performance tire and I was on a timeline to make it to Greenville, SC. The price was fair and they offered to replace all four tires as well.

Brian, Keith and Emmanuel are top notch people. I trust NO ONE ELSE with all of my familys vehicles. We took all 4 in this Saturday, 9/30 for oil changes and routine maintenance. All were done in a timely, efficient manner. This Merchants branch is the best!

Buyer beware! I wish I had read the reviews before I took my vehicle to these people. They recommend stuff that is not necessary, they dont follow instructions. I took my car to them. I asked them to perform an analysis on it. Tell me what needed to be done in order for the car to pass inspection as I knew there were several things. I did not ask for an inspection - I had 1 1/2 months before that needed to be done. They removed my inspection sticker! The quote they gave me to fix the work was so out of the ballpark and more than 1/2 of it I could do myself. I told them to fix only one thing on the list and do an oil change. I was informed that if they only did one thing they would have to put a rejection sticker on my car. I argued that they were not supposed to do an inspection, they should have never removed the sticker. The bottom line is they tried to manipulate me in to doing $1000 worth of work that really will cost me less than $300. These guys are only in it for themselves and to make as much money as possible. They also tried to still charge me for the oil change even though they did not do it. BEWARE! They will rob you blind!!
4-22-19Had an online scheduled appointment at 10 a.m. to get my oil changed and my tires that I purchased at this place rotated. It took all of two hours which was very disappointing. Then I got a call about a 1/2 an hour later saying they did not replace my key to my lock lug nuts back in my truck oh, so I have to travel 30 minutes out of my way to go pick my key to the lock on the lug nuts up. This was not the same experience I had the first time I visited this establishment, very disappointed in todays lack of service and attention to detail! I give it a two stars at the best out of five. Disappointed customer!Keith, was a gentleman that help me get my new tires. He gave me two options for the tires I requested, for my car make and model which is a 2008 Toyota Prius. I was able to look at two different tires, two different prices, and tried to decide if its worth spending the extra money for the one set of tires. This place did a great job of putting my new tires on and having my car ready to travel nearly cross country.
Poor Poor Poorly Managed. Left my Truck and waited for a call. After all day, at 5:45 pm, we went back to find out what they might have found that needed to be taken care of on the vehicle. To my surprise, the vehicle had been completely and totally forgotten and the manager was completely none caring.

I honestly do not understand the other reviews. Having been a return customer, I have never had a problem. The staff is helpful and polite and explain everything going on. As a young woman, I do not feel like I am being taken advantage of by their business. They are fast and reliable and I would definitely recommend to a friend.
You all will never get another penny from me. I took my car there a week ago for a state inspection, I was told I needed new brakes and rotors. I had New brakes installed last December for my last inspection at the hyundai dealership. So I went ahead and had you all give me a rejection sticker for the inspection, took my car back to hyundai today and I DO NOT need new brakes. I got news tires there in October and that is the last time you all will see or hear from me ever. You are a complete rip off, $849.51 for new brakes and rotors when the hyundai dealership only charges $450.00, the dealership is less than you all. Not sure what is going on there but I would be very leery of this place especially since they could have changed my rotors and brakes right then and there.

Called before hand and asked if they could put 2 front tires on my does focus they said bring it down. When I got there they only had 2 choices and both would ruin my gas mileage. I will not be doing bussiness with them ever.
I was very happy with my recent visit to this Merchants. I was able to make it there (in a panic) just as my car battery was about to give out only to realize that they were about to close. However, they were kind enough to offer to stay well past closing to test and replace my battery so that I was able to make it home safely. Thank you Emmanuel!

The workers that work on your cars are excellent. However, current management has them working on multiple cars at once to the point we getting our cars back in worse shape then before. Mechanics here afraid to lose their jobs and do whatever management says. Theres a lady here been back here multiple times because of this. It just confirms my suspicions and I wont be back until they fix their issues.
Was there at opening waited 20mins no one showed up! Took my business to Goodyear down the street and was blown away with amazing customer service and a fixed tire!!! Dont waste your time going here they will be closed when you get there anyway .. Workers cant get to work! Sad!!!
My wheel started vibrating heavily, like it was loose. I stopped here with no appointment or anything because I was a ways from home. They were super helpful, and had a technician tighten the wheel and torque it down for me free of charge. Second time merchants has come through for me in a pinch with something minor and hasnt tried to charge me for it. Ill be looking here for my next set of tires.
Horrible experience. Technicians are only qualified to change bulbs and windshield wipers. Charged me for a problem they didn’t fix.
Needed 2 new tires. My appointment was at 2:00. My car did not get taken back to the bay until just after 3:00. Evidently, they do not honor appointment times.

Scheduled an oil change online. On arrival, was informed it would be 2+ hours before my oil change. I went to Jiffy Lube and was in and out in 30 minutes
Came in just for a state inspection yesterday. Unfortunately they ran out of VSI stickers, so they ensured I was given a free inspection when they restocked. After inspection they mentioned a couple things. One about my worn headlights and another from personal experience with the same kind of engine. The people at this NTB are genuine and care about their customers. Theyll make recommendations, but they wont pressure you into anything. Definitely recommend
Took my car here for my State Inspection, only because I was really late on it and the shop I usually go to was closed over the holiday weekend.I left my car Saturday morning around 8.30am he told me already they probably wouldnt get to it anymore and that was fine with me, I did not need the car before Monday.Saturday afternoon I receive a call that there were issues that would have to be fixed so I could pass.It was two light bulbs and apparently something with the breaks. His estimation round about $400. (First estimate was actually $496, but he was nice enough to give me some discounts.)So this seemed all a little strange to me, as I just had a oil change a couple if month ago and my usual car guy is very up forward and usually tells us sometimes month ahead if something was wrong and needed attention.When I said that this seems a little high to me the customer rep. responded: well young lady, if you cant afford it I am glad to open up a merchants credit card for you and you just pay that off ... yeah, alright.I told him I would pick the car up Monday to get a second opinion. Rejected.To make a long story short I ended up paying $42 for new break lights and the new inspection. The break issue was not inspection related and did not need immediate attention.I will for sure NEVER return to Merchants. I just hope somebody is smarter then me and reads the reviews before not after...

10008 Brook Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23059I was on a trip back when I had a tire blow out and stopped at this place to get it replaced (WORST DECISION EVER!)Not only did they put the wrong size tire but also scraped the finish off my wheels!Now this place won’t even do what’s right and repair their damages!Guys do NOT let them do the same to you!Avoid this place if you can!

The service I received for state inspection, wheel balance, rotation, alignment, radiator flush, brake fluid replacement was fantastic. They estimated $250 for it all, and I was charged $257. They were quick and delivered within their timeline. Much appreciated, Ill be back for sure.
I only had an oil change this time, but I have never had a problem with this shop. The store manager seems like a great guy. They recently went through a management change less than a year ago so a lot of the negative reviews are irrelevant. Definitely worth giving a shot.
CHECK YOUR ALIGNMENT SHEETS WHEN DEALING WITH THEM!!!! Went to have an alignment done on my car and was told that the setting I had asked for were doable. When I arrived to pick up the car there was an additional $60 alignment charge on top of the $150 3 year alignment charge. I was told this was because they had to pull the car off the lift several time to set the toe. I asked Brain to explain the print out for the alignment and was shown the first column as where the car started at and the third column as were it was adjusted to. I asked why the 4th column that read final was the same as the 1st column numbers. I then informed him that I was myself a mechanic and that I knew how to read the sheet and by looking at the sheet they did nothing. Brain got upset and threw the documents at the trash can and told me I’d never get it aligned. Well I did and for cheaper as well. As the rear subframe had been completely removed the toe was way off which made the car dangerous to drive.
Make sure the work order is correct before the work begins.
I always get top notch service and work at NTB. Emmanuel at the north Richmond location on Brook Rd is the most helpful and friendly employee! He works too much and although I’m always glad to see him, he deserves some time off. Give him a vacation and a a raise!
My husband and I stopped at Merchant Tire and Auto because we discovered problems with our tires as we were traveling to NC. The staff was SO nice and helpful!! Emmanuel made sure we got what we needed, and stayed later (on a holiday weekend) to help us. The tires are good quality and the service was excellent. Thank you!!!
Had bought tires from them needed to have a nail removed in one tire.Told me 3 hour wait. Only 1 appointment on board but he said he had 2 left over from yesterday. Really!!!!!!!! Only 1 guy to do tires and nobody else in shop capable of looking at a tire. Will never buy tires from them again.....
Manager Robert Wilson is money hungry and will up charge you as much as possible. Doesn’t explain pricing .. just adds protection plans and tells you that’s the price. Scam artist
Nothing has changed regarding the poor service since this place was Merchants. They will keep you waiting for hours, scratched my husband’s car one time, and have a dumpy waiting room. It’s horrible and not improving! Don’t waste your time going there
The one star is purely for the fact that they fixed the problem that THEY caused and because Google makes me give at least one star. I brought my car here for an oil change. I brought my own oil and filter for high mileage. You would think this wouldnt be an issue, easy in and out. NOT AT ALL!! First I made an appointment and it still took them 2 1/2hours. Then the tech, Josh, who apparently is new(super neat), drained my transmission fluid and not my oil. Then filled my car with 6 qts of oil on top of what was already in there. I go to leave the parking lot and of course my transmission is putting. By the way, I have a Suburu. One of the best engine made cars you can buy with very little issues, if any. Then they bring the car to the back to attempt to fix it and takes them over an hour just to get the nut loose to drain the oil. After a 7 hour oil change I would like to say, DO NOT COME HERE!!
We took our Lexus to this Merchants Tire & Auto Center to have a state inspection completed. They told me the headlights were out of alignment and they failed the inspection. Since it was a certified Lexus from a dealership weve owned for about a year, I was skeptical. Also, Im a car guy with lots of automobile experience and it just seemed fishy. Then they wanted a ridiculous amount to align the headlights so I left with the failed inspection pink slip. I went to the Lexus dealership which said the headlights were FINE! Merchants should be avoided. Firestone, Ferbers and Goodyear within a mile or so all do a good job FYI.
They deserve no stars. Tried to claim front and back brakes were needed. less than 5 months after the front brakes had been replaced.
This place was a life saver, after being closed for 2 hours they still took the time to help me when I couldn’t get home in a snow storm, even working in the snow to put my tires on when it couldn’t get to the building. I can’t recommend anyone but these guys.

Went in for a oil change. Left with being advised my power sterring was leaking! Wrong..it was oil! Vale cover needed replacing. How can you confuse oil and power steering? Wont be returning. The oil change took over 2 hours😒

Great prices on the tires, not so much on the service. Great customer service, though.
Dropped my car off for a 4 wheel alignment after a little fender bender.told them to check over the passenger side.picked he car up and was told everything was fine.a month later the inside of the passenger side tire is bald.i take it back in(under warranty) I was told camber doubled in a months time and something was bent.took it to the dodge dealer close by to have it checked for anything bent.nothing bent at all and toe was way out!the tech told me they dont know what they were doing but it definitely wasnt an alignment.shouldve gone to the dealer in the first place.fact of the matter is something that they probably do every day and now Im out a tire.was told they wont replace it even being their fault.i atleast got my money back from the alignment and wont be returning...
Unfortunately we live in a world of dishonesty. I understand as a consumer we can accuse anybody of damaging parts on our vehicles and truth be told we can never know for sure. As a woman I try to take good care of my vehicle because I have children in the car with me. I came into this location because I heard a strange noise coming from my front tire and wanted to get it checked out. They said that there is a fee now to asses the repairs, no problem just figure out the problem. Well he came back and said that I needed new wheel bearings and new wheel nuts and suggested an alignment. Bottom line $550. He said he would bring it down to $500 and then give me 10% off the remaining and if it was still too much he said that we cold skip the alignment all together. The truck is not safe to drive and I was lucky that the tire didnt come off already. Wow!, ok still an unexpected expense and wanted to my husband to look everything over before I went forward with the repairs. Decided to get a second opinion and the second mechanic who is a friend and a former employee told me they broke a stud on the tire and tried to cover it up by selling me on crazy services and they use scare tactics on women to sell added services. Needless to say Merchants has lost a loyal customer. I have been taking my 3 vehicles there for oil changes for years. Now I can not say for sure if they broke the wheel stud but they surely tried to sell me on services I did not need. I would rather pay double and get it done right and feel safe then taking any vehicle I have to Merchants again. I did call and speak to the manager and he never apologized for the inconvenience and seemed unfazed about me telling him I would follow up with corporate. Now reading the other reviews I see why.
DISHONEST. Dont go here. Theyre theives. They told me my car repairs were worth $4700 when repairs actually cost $470 somewhere else. They lied and fabricated issues with the vehicle.
Needed a flat repair 15 minutes before closing and they stayed late to do it. Excellent customer service!
I visited this store THREE times for state inspection. I called earlier and they said no appointments needed, its based on first come first served. I went Wednesday around 4:30PM and they said the inspector has already left. I went back Friday morning and they told me there are 11 cars ahead of you, bring it back tomorrow as early as possible or you can drop it tonight, I said how early, he said we open at 7am. I went back for the third time early Saturday and the same guy from Friday told me that they dont do inspections on weekends, I said but you told me come back tomorrow when I came in yesterday. His response was if I told you that I am sorry, meaning he did not tell me that. Very disappointing and the worst customer service I have ever seen:(By the way, I Called Firestone across the street, they did it for me in a professional manner within 45mins.
I went to the Brook Rd location near Virginia Center Commons Mall. The manager Emmanuel was very helpful assisting me with making a affordable and good choice for new tires. Thank you!
