My family and I have been customers of Aarrow for a couple years, and we have had our expectations met and exceeded every time we bring in a vehicle. Customer service and communication are top notch! Ken is always giving updates on vehicle repairs and provides as much detail as possible on work needing to be done plus an honest timeframe for completion. The check-ins and thank-yous a few days after service is complete shows that they really care! The staff is friendly and service-oriented, and I can always trust that my car will be back in top shape once worked on by the team. Thank you Aarrow!!
Set an appointment a week in advance, dropped car off at 7:25 and reminded them I needed the car at 12:30 to be done. Unprofessional from desk staff and back of house mechanics are arrogant. They push false car repairs to increase sales things not needed AVOID Coming here you are inviting yourself to be lied to and riped off loyal 2+ Yr customer will not come back ever.
The same issues like for many recent reviewers. They are looking to rip you off, not to provide an honest service. Refused to do state inspection when doing oil change since they were too busy (to force us to come back), but had all the time to email me report on every single issue that they recommend fixing with pictures and explanations. Of course, none of these were needed, including fluid flushes that were done just a few months back. We will not be coming back.
Made an appt. Saturday. They didnt look at it until tuesday. Charged me over $300 without fixing a thing. Rip off
Updated Review:Since 2017 Im seeing this Mechanic shop for mostly small repairs (Break pad changes, Battery replacement etc...) and State inspections. Though the charges are not that great but I always had positive experience until my last two visits. Please read on!Episode 1:On Nov 7 2020 I have visited for oil change as it was due for sometime. Same day afternoon I travelled outstation and back home which is 150 miles total distance. During that time I observed some smoke smell inside the car and the engine sound was little different. I didnt suspect anything and thought the car is adjusting to new oil (Im novice to this card engine stuff). Once I reached home later night I parked the car at home and next day morning (Sunday) I observed that there is significant oil leak under the car. I popped the hood and checked the engine. To my surprise, there is NO oil cap at all and the oil leaked all over the engine. I searched for the cap and I found it between wiper blade and the water drain passage (See the picture). It seems the mechanic took it off for oil change, kept it there and forgot to put that back. It is sheer negligence. As it was Sunday and the shop closed, I sent an email to the shop attaching all the pictures. Monday morning I got a call from them to bring the car. I took the car and they said, it is not a big deal and asked me to drop the car so that they can clean /wipe the oil off. Afternoon when I picked I checked again and there is till oil in some places. They took it inside and cleaned it again. Though I was not happy with the way they handled the situation and tried to correct, there is noting I could do rather than just to leave with the car. While leaving they offered me free oil change for next time. (I still have the coupon and didnt use yet)Episode 2:On May 12 2021, I took the car to the same mechanic as I saw battery warning light on dashboard while the car is running. (Bought the battery from them last time). I dropped the car asked if I can use a loaner car to go back home. They told that I cant have one as they are intended for bigger work customers. I booked a taxi and got back home. They called me sometime in next hour and told that, the alternator is at fault and needs replacement (Costing $640 including part and Labor). As I need to pick my child from school and needed the running car, I asked them to replace it ASAP. I went back in taxi and picked the car and went to school and picked my child. After coming home, I checked on internet and found out that oil spill could have caused the Alternator to go bad and that would be the case with me.I dont know if that great oil spill is going to cause any problems down the line.My car is not old it has 50000 miles on it. What do you think of this experience. Is there a way I would have avoided such a hassle. Do you think Aarrow transmission personal acted properly in these situations?Definitely I lost the confidence on these guys!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In my old Review, I gave 5 stars and Im retracting them now)
My daughter took her car there because her transmission quit working. They told us that there was a lot of metal in the fluid. They were going to charge her over 4000$ to put in a rebuilt used transmission. We took it elsewhere as the car isnt worth that..and found out it was a torque converter and they had never actually pulled the pan to check anything. Also her car had been there a week and there was damage to it and a flat tire...Buyer beware. Always ask specific questions and WATCH them pull the pan so you can be sure it was even done!
I am the Direct of Mechanic of Faith and nonprofit organization that repairs vehicles for people in need. We do very minor services and are unable to preform all the services our client needs and when we can not get the job done, we run straight the Aarrow Transmission & Automotive. As a mechanic its hard to find a shop you can trust and feel confident you are getting the same service you try to provide and Aarrow does it. Thank you all for all you have done for us and our customers. Our preferred Mechanics if Jeff H and Tech writer Ken these guys ROCK! as well as everyone else.God is Good
Thorough and economical! They sent pics of everything that needed my attention. Great service!
Took literally all day for an oil change and inspection. My appointment was for 8am and did not receive my car until 5pm. Then they gave me a $1,500 list of things that also needed to be fix when in fact that was not the case when I took it for a second opinion. Will not go there again.
Kens customer service makes coming here such a great experience!!!
In an attempt to support small business I reached out to Kings Auto Service LLC to repair my A/C and found a mechanic is only as good as his tools and his desire to expand his knowledge and update his equipment. Of the many misdiagnosis I received the last 2 included recommendations to replace my EGR Valve and Computer board because he could not properly apply FREON to a new compressor.Aarrow Transmission & Automotive used the best equipment, provided the best customer service and charged a fair price. I wasted a tone time and money that I cant get back but that loss lead me to a gain which is the excellent workmanship of Aarrow Transmission & Automotive.…..and I took my sale sign of my 06 Explorer XLT 4x4. Its a good SUV.
My car needed an oil change. Arrow came and got my car and even left their car in case I had an emergency and needed to go somewhere. This service is fantastic so I did not have to go and sit there. Under normal conditions I go there and sit until it is ready. I enjoy going there as everyone is so nice and helpful.
I came into the Short Pump location for an oil change and state inspection for my E550. Inspection and oil change were done without issue. I happily paid my bill and headed off to work. Then I noticed something after work when I was about to head home. The panel inside of the door was damaged. The beige color looked like it had been stripped off exposing black rubber. I wish I had noticed it when I was in the arrow transmission parking lot. I dont even know how that could happen during an oil change or inspection but this happened under their care and Im very upset. Im sure they will deny it so I wont bother bringing it in. Honesty is always the best policy...its too bad as I had been there before with both my cars and never had an issue. I thought I had found an honest mechanic....oh well.....clearly I cannot recommend a place that you can not trust to take care of your property
I have been taking our vehicles to Aarrow for a few years. They consistently provide services with a high degree of integrity, professionalism, knowledge of their trade, and the highest quality. They communicate effectively and you always feel you are being treated as a valued customer.
Everyone I mean everyone went out of their way to help me. They care about their service and the customer. Hard to find great people and services like it these days! Would recommend to everyone I know.
I have been using aarrow transmission at the Glen Allen area for many years and I am always very impressed with their outstanding customer service. They treat their customers with the utmost respect in explaining any vehicle issues and they are detailed in their work. I have also price compared on some of the more expensive work and found their prices to be competitive and fair. I also appreciate the follow up calls. Please consider them as they will perform quality auto work to maintain your vehicle. Fyi please call or schedule ahead of time as they are always busy.
Very best in the Glen Allen / Short pump area! These guys never over charge and are very reliable.
We had difficulties at a Ford dealership that would not honor their work so we took our 12 Explorer to Arrow. They took a lot of time explaining what should have been covered by Ford and even wrote up a nice letter of explanation so we could take it to Ford to cover some of the expenses. Their customer service is excellent with phone calls, emails, texts. I always know whats going on with my car. I would recommend them to anyone.
Great place, honest and fair people and prices.I have taken my car to Roy Bordner (owner) of Aarrow Transmission and automotive several times and have had great experiences every time.I highly recommend them.Gerald H.
Very happy with Arrow. Experienced mechanics, courteous and fair prices. They really take care of my vehicle and their customers.
These guys are amazing. Awesome job of fixing my car in a timely manner. Looked my car completely over and gave a detailed report (paper copy, and email).
My parents brought my car here for its yearly inspection not too long ago. They barely did anything. From what I remember, they replaced my back light, changed the oil, and a few more small things. In total, for an inspection, it cost us 600 dollars. My car is probably worth 1500. Let me make it clear, they barely did a thing. Now, probably 4 or 5 months down the line, Im having problems on the under side of my car, and its just not running very smooth. These people seem to be willing to take advantage of you because its in a rich part of town. Im still mad that we paid 600 dollars for a damn inspection. I highly recommend you do not go here unless you dont mind spending more money for less service.
Was told transmission service would be $275.00 ended up costing $380.00. Feel I got took. The dealership would have charged $275.00 for the same. Will not return. Over $100.00 an hour for a 1.5 hour service.
My son took his truck in for an inspection. Ken failed it and told my son it would cost $1,200 to fix and pass inspection. We picked up my son’s truck and took it somewhere else for a second opinion who told us Aarow Transmission screwed him and was just trying to get money from him. His truck should not have failed inspection!! Aarow did change my son’s oil but the second place said the oil filter was leaking so, Aarow didn’t even do that right!! I would not recommend Aarow Transmission.
I got a diagnostic for a transmission issue. Everyone I spoke with was professional, courteous, knowledgeable. Communication was great. I opted not to have the work done they recommended. I also offered to pay for their technicians time (which was considerable) in diagnosing the issue and they refused my money. Clearly a customer oriented operation.
Have been using Aarrow for years and always fair prices and great friendly/timely service. Have done small regular maintenance services and big items like timing belts and rebuilds. Roy (owner) and Sterling (Mgr) have always greeted clients with professional respect and care. Will be using for years to come. ...despite the ‘Transmission’ in their name - they do it all!
Great service and always very timely. The staff there is very knowledgeable and always so helpful. I’m so glad I have finally found a place to take my cars and feel confident that it will be fixed correctly and fair with my price. Thanks Sterling!!
Aarow has always done what ever they can to take care of me. Theyve helped me out more times than I can count and done there very best to work around my super hectic schedule. Sure you can take your car to some cut rate place and save a few bucks but youll likely get poor quality work and service. The saying you pay for what you get speaks volumes in the car repair shop world. The whole crew here at Aarow will keep you and your car running smoothly and efficiently. They will always have my business.
Went for state inspection, and it is good. Staff is welcoming.
Our family has used Arrow for years and we wouldnt take our cars anywhere else. The team members are extremely friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable and the service is outstanding. They stand behind their work and are very reliable. Absolutely the best auto shop in Richmond.
Josh and Palmer were very helpful and the whole team did an amazing job. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
Really happy. Friendly, professional service. Would not hesitate to use again.
Awesome experience. They pick you car up, service it and send you a report via text. What more can you ask for!?
As soon as you walk in its obvious these folks are focus on delivering the best customer service experience possible. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and with a quick turn around. Thanks Aarrow!
Professional technicians. They know their stuff. You will not be disappointed with their work and efficiency.
There was a thumping sound so I went to the dealer. We got in that habit when the car was under warranty, and the dealer is close by, and the oil changes are free for the life of the car. Besides, theyre nice people and wouldnt you expect that people directly connected to the manufacturer/brand would be the most capable/knowledgeable? I guess Ive been lucky - although things go wrong with my cars, theyre usually minor. I thought my luck had run out when the service department at the dealer said our seven year old car (123K miles) had a problem with the final drive and would require a totally replaced transmission. Quoted price = $5600. Yikes. Paying for that was going to take some planning, so I took the car home and put it in the driveway until we could come up with a plan. Ive never had transmission problems, so I had no idea what it should cost, but maybe I could find a less expensive place at least. I am SO glad I asked around! I got a few recommendations but the most resounding endorsement was for the Aarrow Transmission shop on Research Road. I took the car to them just hoping that they could fix the transmission for less than the dealer quote. Heres what happened. First, the guys are so genuinely nice that I felt like I could ask questions and they wouldnt think I was dumb. Second, even if they did think I was dumb, they were so patient and professional with me that they didnt give it away - they actually made me feel like my questions and comments were intelligent. So lets get to the good part. They said my transmission could be fixed for $3500, worst case. Sweet! But wait - it gets better! Then they told me that they didnt think it was the transmission anyway - they wanted to run some more tests. Ill shorten this lengthy review by saying they did find and correct the major problem (brakes and rotors), truthfully confessed that there was another sound that still had them scratching their heads but theres no way to fix what you cant diagnose, and indicated that there was nothing wrong with the transmission at all. I have had the car back for two days now and it is running beautifully. The other rattle is still there - as it has been for seven years (loose sunroof - dealer says $720 to fix). I will continue to live through that annoyance and consider that a reminder to trust my instincts. Obviously I hope my car problems are few and far between, but Im thrilled that I found a good shop with good people. Bottom line? My car was repaired for about a sixth of what I was originally told it was going to cost AND my faith in the existence of good and honest people - who are also smart enough and dedicated enough to their craft to get it right - got a HUGE boost.
I have dealt with Aarrow Transmission on many occasions over the years and have always been very satisfied with the work they have done. They are not the cheapest guys in town, but they always are straightforward and honest about what needs to be done to fix the problem. They stand behind their work. They are courteous and professional. The only reason not to give them 5 stars is that they are extremely busy which can cause some inconvenience, but in the end its worth it to deal with such knowledgeable pros.
They fixed another mechanics oversight...these guys are honest and detailed in there assessment of a cars issues. I really enjoyed the quality work they did in a timely fashion. Work was done that day, I highly recommened this shop and we will be using them going forward for all repairs past our abilities. Thank you Mike and Sterling for being awesome!
I brought my used and recently purchased vehicle in and they gave an accurate estimate of transmission repair and diagnosis cost. I decided to count my losses and go for another vehicle. They were very friendly and helpful. In particular Sterling was very courteous and professional. Based on that interaction alone i would recommend them
Absolutely great service. Last week, I had a coolant leak and called numerous places to have it fixed as soon as possible but everybody would not see my vehicle for another week. Once I contacted Aarrow Transmissions, they were able to see my vehicle when nobody else was able to. The coolant leak got fixed and am very happy.A week after the appointment, Aarrow Transmissions contacted me to see how my vehicle is doing. That definitely shows that they care about their customers and make sure that they receive the best service possible. I highly would recommend.
I took my vehicle there for state inspection and oil change. They failed my inspection for something that did NOT need to be taken care of and wanted to charge me over $2000 to repair it. My oil change ended up costing over $800 because the oil filter housing broke and had to be changed. I understand that may not have been their fault, but they charged me over $500 for a $200 part. I could not pick the vehicle up because it would not start without placing oil in it and they could not do it. I felt like I was being held hostage. After taking it to another dealer for second opinion....PASSED as is. Maybe Aarrow Transmisison took advantage of me because I am female and dont know much about cars. I dont know, but I give poor review for this.
My experience was very interesting I yelled at these people for a problem with my car they had no control over I gave them a chance to fix it (alternator & starter) and they fixed it kept the bad starter to show me the work they were doing was necessary. They even called me back today just to make sure I was satisfied. Sterling I appreciate you and sorry for yelling. The people here are awesome and I trust there work! Highly recommend!
First of all these guys are great, especially when you are in a bind. Aarrow transmission was able to mend the issues with my car and let me return to work same day. they have an awesome staff and everyone seems genuinely concerned when you bring your vehicle in. I recommend them for a variety of car troubles and will continue to use them for all of my automobile needs-Brent P
I went in for an inspection and failed because there was water in my headlights and my tie-rod was broken. They were going to charge me almost $1,000 to fix those two things. I immediately thought that was way to much and took it to my boyfriends grandpa who is a former Nascar pit crew chief and after him and his friends who owned car shops as well looked it over, they said there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with my tie rod at all AND they just simply emptied out the water from my headlights in 20 minutes opposed to Aarrow charging me for brand new headlights+bulbs etc. I dont typically leave reviews but I was disheartened in them trying to taking advantage of me and wanted to warn others who are going here for their inspections and dont have someone in their life to take a second look for them. I was almost out $1,000 for absolutely no reason.
We have been using Aarrow for over five years for general maintenance and repairs and always have a good experience. They are well trained mechanics, thorough, and pleasant to do business with. Between maintenance visits if you need tires or fluids checked, they pleasantly perform these, sometimes without charge. We highly recommend them.
Local auto shop you can trust. They have fixed my minor issues on the spot without any charge. Repairs the car and charges you only if it is warranted. People remember you and are very polite.
Very courteous over the phone and in-person. I was delighted with the service, timing and cost. I came to this shop due to their positive reviews and I am very happy with my experience. The communication was excellent - they called prior to making any decisions and gave me a truly great deal on my transmission flush. Ill be servicing all of my vehicles here from now on.
Just moved to Richmond last fall and Im happy to say that Ive found my new go to place for car maintenance. Ive been 3 times for routine stuff at the Pouncey Tract location. Id highly recommend them for their quality, friendliness and timeliness. No more dealership maintenance for me!
I had to get my car checked for an unusual sound while visiting family down in Richmond. The dealership was packed and couldnt take in anymore; the chain place said there was nothing wrong. The guys at Aarrow really saved the day. They were busy but took a quick look and made the quick fix and I was on my way. Fast and friendly service, Ive not only recommended my mom make this her go to, Im seriously considering scheduling any service around my trips to Richmond!
I usually do my own vehicle maintenance, but when I dont have the tools, time, or knowledge, I take my cars to Aarrow. (They do much more than just transmissions.) I am not associated with Aarow or anyone within there in any way (friendship, business, blood, whatever). I watched two jobs done by Aarrow this week. The first was mine. As usual, their work was done right, on time, and within budget. They have never tried to sell whats not needed. The second job was a big transmission job for a NY couple (I did not know) who were moving to FL when their transmission literally went away as they were driving down Interstate 95. They asked the tow truck driver where was the best place, and Aarrow is where he took their car. Good choice, Mr Tow Truck Driver. I watched intently as Aarrow got their car back on the road quickly, and worked hard to keep the bill as low as possible without sacrificing quality. I was proud of the Aarrow folks. Its tough to find a good repair shop, and I have come to Aarrow each time because they had done a good job last time, but not with total faith, as I have been burned by shops before. Im finally sure I have that one great shop. Aarrow will have my business from now on.
Was recommended to these guys by a friend. They were on point the second they picked up my phone call. Their customer service and diagnostic service was tip top!
This is the first auto repair service I have ever been to that I know I can trust. Great group of honest and genuine people working here. Highly recommend this place!
They always do a great job with my Jetta. I always appreciate Sterling calling and giving me the rundown on my vehicle before they start repairs. They give sound advice and do great work! Highly recommended!
I believe I was dealing with the owner when I went in and if not either way I was treated very fairly and honestly. They pinpointed the exact issue with my vehicle for free and took a lot of time and effort explaining it to me before I even agreed to pay to fix it. They even invited me to call the dealer to price match before having them fix it which I did just to be safe. They indeed offered much better service than the dealer would or could have at a much better price.I got my car back within hours of drop off and the issue was resolved.Dont let the name fool you either. They work on everything not just transmissions.
Excellent experience. Fast, courteous, quality service. Highly recommended.
Ive been taking our family vehicles to Aarrow for several years now. This ranges from State Inspections to transmission rebuilds. I have never had the opportunity to question their judgement or their work. They do the job right the first time, and have always been more than fair with their pricing. You can deal with confidence here...
Fast friendly service. Upfront pricing. And they stand behind their work. Love them.
I broke down halfway through a road trip and had to get some transmission work done. Overall the shop did a good job and did their best to get me back on the road as quickly as possible. My contact there was Sterling, who was happy to update me on the status of the repair daily.
Awesome!!! I handed these guys a hairball of a problem involving aftermarket modifications to an old car and they could have just kicked it back to me. Instead, they hung in until they figured it out. They truly went the extra mile and I am a customer for life.
I was told lower control arm bushing needs to be replaced in order to pass state inspection which was priced at $650. I declined to do and took the car to AAA. They told it doesn’t need to be replaced for State inspection. I had the state inspection done at AAA without any issues. I would never return to Aarrow transmission.
Honest and skilled mechanics with great customer service.12/28/17 Update - Still the best shop in town. Honest, knowledgeable, and affordable.
I drive a van with special handicap equipment that I rely on, so for me its not as easy as just getting a rental car if my van goes in the shop. Roy at Aarrow was very understanding of this and made sure my van was in and out quickly. The waiting area was clean and comfortable and between the television and magazines I had plenty to keep me busy. Most people dont realize its the little things that matter, but it is.
Fair businesses transparent with customers!
Completely professional, honest crew with reasonable prices. Its so nice to find an autoshop I can trust and feel comfortable dealing with on my own. I cannot recommend them enough.
Very good experience here getting my timing belt done. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable.
Seem like lots of fake reviews here, let me leave a real one! Went in for a brake job today the person Ken gave me an estimate for $434 on a 2010 mercedes for a brake job and rotors on the front. After waiting most of the day, my wife arrived and she asked for the car since it was late and our daughter had to go to work. All of the sudden they had time to do the brakes and she was next. The next issue they said is the brake caliper is frozen and must be replaced, he quoted me $660 (in addition) for the caliper and said their are only 7 available in the nation available. What nonsense! I restored 3 cars from scratch as a hobby and have some good knowledge about when im being lied to about cars. I called Oreillys auto parts and they have the caliper part for $111.00, that Ken said was $600. I do not trust these people very immoral and rude. They said they cant give the car back as its dangerous to drive, after we said we are happy to pay for their time, thats funny ....my daughter drove it there and it was fine. I will post more info as this progresses. I urge you to ask many questions before dealing with these people.
Extremely pleased with the service weve received. Started during an ice storm emergency when my wife was stranded and they were the only port in the storm. Did excellent work and did not take advantage of a bad situation. Always friendly, honest and produce high quality work. We take all our vehicles to them now. Not easy to find but work the effort.
Very professional service. The manager Sterling is very helpful, offered to ride me to car rental place, explained every item in my bill to me and called me one week later for checking everything. Will come if any problem with my car.
They were able to fix my car quickly and effectively also very well without any long term waiting. Most shops in the area make you wait a couple days until their schedules are all freed up. This shop got my work done in a moments notice.
They are very trustworthy. Charges for only the work that is required. If they see something is okay, then will discourage you from repairing what is not broken.
Always 5-star service. Best local automotive shop around. Highly recommended.
The shop honored a mistake in their ad & provided the service as written. Not many companies do that these days. The service was completed quickly & the attendants were courteous. Job well done!
This is a great auto repair shop - They take care of all my vehicles & have done so for at least a half-dozen years. They do fantastic work. I highly recommend them.
Reasonable prices, quality work, and great customer service. We service all of our company vehicles there, and Aarrow as a whole has been very accomodating for our needs of service. We are grateful for their services!!!
I needed transmission work on my ’03 Chrysler Sebring and I’m so glad I took it to Aarrow. The quality and service was outstanding and the price was right where I expected it to be – actually a little less. No more problems and it feels almost like I’m driving a new car.
Super impressed with Aarrow transmission! They go above and beyond! Would recommend them ! They are the best ! Love the pouncey tract location
Came in primarily to do transmission fluild flush/fill which was performed at competitive price. A long-standing check engine light that couldnt be repaired at a different service center was looked into, and after spending a considerable amount of $$ on smoke test, R/R O2 sensors, manifold gasket set, fuel pressure sensor, and more the engine light is still burning brightly. Its complicated by the fact that I have a 2001 Isuzu Trooper that I purchased new........today has 67,000 miles on it, which is simply very low mileage. They successfully repaired the shift on the fly 4-wheel drive engagement functionality as well. So, its been a mixed bag; I was really looking forward to not seeing the check eng light on all of the time. Alas, it is not the case for me. Communication was very good with the service team, and only approved work was done, and theres a professionalism that is enjoyed as well. With labor rates well over $100/hr it doesnt take long for a service bill to add up quickly, but thats universal these days.
Aarow was recommended to me by a good friend of mine several years ago and I will never take my car anywhere else. Very professional, friendly, awesome service, and feel like I have finally found a mechanic I can trust. I highly recommend them, cant be beat.
The guys at Aarrow always do a great job.
After 14 years taking my families cars to another repair location, the management changed and the good mechanics left. I was getting estimates that always grew or more issues were found and cost me more money. Decided to try Aarrow at Short Pump. First few times okay. Then my daughters CRV I just bought her needed inspection. Got an estimate for $390.38 for repairs to pass. Next day got a call that the repairs were more extensive and the new price was $689.98. The labor would be more, they didnt include new headlight cost in estimate, and the parts on the estimate were double what I was given. I can understand $20 or $30 dollars difference, but this was $299.60 more than the estimate. The search continues for a auto repair place I can trust that wont rip me off.
Aarrow Transmissions is where we go to get all of our service done. They are friendly, remember your name and vehicle and most importantly, they are trustworthy. They will tell you what you need and then what may be recommended for next time and their goal is to see you come back, not to squeeze evey penny out of you this time. They are very fair with their diagnostic fees and other rates.
Great shop. Thought I was stuck in VA cause lost 3 & 4th gear on vacation. I normally do all my own work but wasnt able to on vacation. Took vehicle here. Justin immediately put techs on it and found the issue. Quickly ordered a part and had it overnighted to get me back on the road fast. Great team from front desk to back. All worked together. Josh was also awesome and helped me get the job financed thru another company, while making sure they got all the parts my vehicle needed . No later than noon next day vehicle was ready. Great exp. I never go to garages but these guys changed that. Quick work And nearly 200 less than they quoted me! Thanks again guys
I am so glad that you recommended the brake care the next day the breaks keep me from hitting a deer. I had not realized the breaks were off. Now they are right on the money.
Nice place with friendly and helpful staff. They are very thorough and up front with their plans to fix the vehicle issue and with pricing.
Friendly people, knowledgeable technicians, and they do what they say theyre going to do.
Great customer service
As of 2019 my thoughts have been compiled together of my experience with Arrow transmission. work is always done and completed but they’reOverpriced!!! Beyond reason. Simply put these guys tackle on prices made for the middle class to wealthy. I’m talking about the people of Glen Allen who don’t mind blowing $1000+ on their cars. Low income workers who actually want to get the best out of their money look elsewhere. Countless times I’ve came into Arrow only to hear customers being charged $1000+ dollars for work that should not have been that expensive.I’m no exception either. There were times I would drop my vehicle off for work or inspection only to be hit with $500-1000+ work needing to be done.I actually payed the above prices for a lot of work not knowing any better until just this year. I was hit with a near $2000 bill from Arrow. Now mind you I’ve never had a mechanic charge that much for work on my car, but what really set my suspicions was the issue they didn’t pass me for was the same issue another mechanic called out a year prior. Exhaust manifold was leaking. Difference was the prices were so different from Arrow compared to paradise garage.Paradise garage quote was $747-842 to fix my exahust manifold a year ago. I searched online and all of reddit described that Arrow was over charging me for the work that needed to be done. Mind you remember the bill was damn near $2000 dollars or $1814 to be exact. So after seeing wow these guys always hit me with giant bills everytime I need work or an inspection I asked a co-worker for a reasonable mechanic to check out if they would charge me that much for the same work.Called Rpm Jeff and was quote at $782 and they even reattached the oxygen sensor (upward) and oxygen (downward) without replacing them which Arrow was trying to charge me $300 each for both being rewired and changed. It was explained by rpm Jeff that Arrow likely didn’t care to try and save me cash and I’m shocked by how many good reviews they have from continuous customers who go there.Elderly and all those rich folk are being charged countless absurd prices from Arrow and I’m sad to say they are gonna continue to pay them without looking around. Stay away and shop multiple mechanics because I did and I just saved $950+ dollars if I wouldn’t have looked elsewhere besides Arrow. You’ve been warned.Update: 06/13/2019Today I entered Arrow Transmission as I work for a local security company of Glen Allen. We drop our vehicles off for work with them constantly. When going in to pick up the company vehicle I was approached by Sterling wanting to talk. Of course, not knowing what I forgot I wrote this review. They brought it up and seemed to be extremely defensive about explaining why they charged me such an absurd amount of money for my vehicle to be fixed.Short and simple. They didn’t like my review. So Sterling was professional like always, but man boy man there was this other guy with glasses who just seemed so upset I wrote this review. Guy was at the breaking point that he even stated my car would have problems 6 months down the road from RPM saving me on the oxygen sensors instead of outright replacing. Totally unprofessional of the employees of Arrow Transmission. That guy showed his true colors.Of course, Sterling is a class act! Good Job Sterling explaining why I was charged what you guys charged me. Regarding what Arrow explained is that they have a manufactor who requires that they do certain orders for replacement parts of a vehicle a certain way. This means in my case above Sterling and the rude Arrow employee with glasses explained if they order a part from a manufactor like an exahuast manifold that the manufactor requires they replace all parts including the oxygen sensor. My goodness where do I even begin.I don’t have enough space to write all of this. What I will say is if your manufactor doesn’t give you guys the ability to give customers cost saving prices why use them. I stand by my review you guys are for the wealthy.
These guys are the best. Good work, fair prices, good service.
Two years in a row, I tool two different cars for inspection. They want $1200 each time to pass the inspection, instead I took them to Midas and they charge me max $249 to pass the inspection. No plan to go back to this place .
The staff here is amazingly helpful and supportive. They service my vehicle to my astonishment every time and treat me better than the dealership!
They do a great job, friendly, fast and honest.
I now know why I was referred Aarrow by another nationally acclaimed light-duty auto maintenance & repair shop in Richmond -- Sterling, the West End locations go-to man was incredibly professional and upfront all throughout, especially for the diagnostic/inspection aspect of the experience. E.g., He sent me picture messages showing me exactly what was done to correct my vehicles problem...Any automotive customerd be hard pressed to receive this sort of service anywhere else.I would definitely recommend Aarrow Transmissions for all your urgent, vehicular needs.
Great customer service. Very friendly and personable staff.Made a minor mistake with my total but I had a bunch of different coupons that made it confusing. They quickly corrected the mistake and did a nice job fixing my car.
Great service at very reasonable rates.I had my inspection and some related repair done here after a not-so-good experience with another local service shop. Aarrow completed the repair quickly as I was leaving on my vacation and at 30% less than the other place.Aarrow has been a new find for me and I intent to take all my repair needs to them.I recommend them highly for professional and very reaasonable service.
Very disappointing and frustrating experience. Made an appointment for my sons 2009 Jeep Wrangler to diagnose and fix a heater issue. Heater was not producing hot air. Appointment was made for Wed 1pm and dropped car off that morning. I described the problem and had already troubleshot several possibilities (fuses, coolant, pump) and purchased a new thermostat but not installed it. They indicated car should be ready by end of the day as my son needed it for work (this was made very clear). 3-1/2 days later problem was still not solved and my bill was $800 - and I still had the same issue. When I picked up the car the NEW radiator had no coolant and the reservoir was empty. During my near 1 hour review and discussion, they determined the heater blower diverter doors were most likely the issue - not the new thermostat or radiator they installed! Their price was almost $1,300 to do this work....in addition to the $800 already spent - thank you BUT no thank you!!During the 3-1/2 days, I or my son had to call 6 times to get updates on the status/progress (lack thereof) as the only call I got was before they said I needed a new radiator. Needless to say, I will find another auto shop for all work on our 5 vehicles. This is a shame as we had previously used All Tune & Lube (who they acquired) for years. They may know transmissions, but......
I have been a customer at the Midlothian location for many years. I have always found Aarrow to be honest and fair. Other large chain repair shops and dealer-run shops often recommended work that I wondered if I really needed. That has not been my experience at AARROW, Prices are fair and work is completed in a timely manner, and staff have been honest if an auto was just not work additional investment.
Treated fairly, they recomend repairs but do not pressure you for unnecessary repairs.
Great staff. Always super friendly and informative. Also extremely helpful and generous!
Always excellent job at fair price. Its a pleasure dealing with Todd and PalmerBoyd Johnson
I went to Arrow 3 years ago to replace my damaged 2001 Honda Accord transmission. At the time I didnt want to buy another vehicle and Honda was absolutely no help, since I wasnt the original owner. Going on a tip from a friend I took my car to Arrow and waited 3 days for them to complete my transmission rebuild. 3 days is probably average wait time, but I wasnt expecting an overnight job or anything. The warranty for the transmission was 30K miles, which made me a little nervous, but Im now at 40K miles and so far have had no problems. The costs was a little over 3K, which seems to be the industry standard. Id go back to Arrow Transmission in a heart beat if I ever needed another repair.
