Tony is hilarious!!! Makes you feel like family I even call just ask questions about parts that I may need to purchase when getting work done on my car!! He has been there 19 yrs and one of the main reasons I don’t mind spending my time and money here.

I will never carry my vehicles back to them again... Very poor customer service, and they lied about doing work and ordering parts that never took place. The vehicle that I took there is still having the same issues that I took it there for them to correct, and the individual that was in charge at the front desk (Tony) this morning is a very dishonest person couldnt even establish eye to eye contact with me when he was spewing his BS. I went there today in hopes of them correcting this issue, but I was fed lies. I MADE THE MISTAKE OF NOT REQUESTING MY OLD PARTS BACK WHEN I INITIALLY WENT THERE...DO NOT TAKE YOU VEHICLE TO THESE CROOKS!!!!!!
We have recently purchased a set of new tires and our customer service was outstanding! We had a small hiccup with the tires but they took the time to investigate and fixed the issue! Tony, Renee and the mechanic staff definitely went above and beyond!!

Working with Pep Boys has been a headache. I scheduled an appointment for the buy 4 get 1 free. I originally set an appointment, received email confirmation for my appointment and tracking info. When I arrived they did not have my tires so I had to go to another location. The guy at the Davis Circle location has the nerve to tell me I should have called to confirm. Isnt that your job? Waisted 30 minutes driving there and another 30 minutes driving to the Garner location. The other location did match the price but did not include the inspection that was listed on the website special. Then they had to order new wheel locks which were here last week but I had to call today because I never received a call. Also the website deal included a vehicle inspection. When I asked the guy for a copy, he informed me they didnt perform one. How do you not know your own specials? Will not visit again. The three stars are only because they completed the job in the same day, around 5 hours.
Got my alignment done here. It was done fast and customer service was very courteous on explaining to me on the printout that my alignment was off previously and has since been corrected. Will definitely visit again in the future for all the alignments need on my car.
Jason great me at the door at 8 am sharp.. they were able to get my truck back for oil change and my tire rotations. Big Shout out to David Joy at PepBoys Store#0128 on Hwy 70, Garner. He handled a car issue that I thought was a simple fix but turned into a bigger problem. He was so patient and went above and beyond his job in assisting me. He made sure everything was correct and in order, and checked in to make sure I was happy before I left. I even went inside to Jason what a great job he did. Thank you to David and his dad!!
My wife shared that she had a great experience with the service department at this Pep Boys location so I gave them a chance. I was surprised how correct she was.Jason was extremely knowledgable, professional, and patient and fixed the issue I had with my car quickly. Even though he was juggling other customers, he made me feel like I was the only person he was serving.We need more excellent service providers like this. I highly recommend this business for auto service.
Quality of service was great.Made an 8am appt. to have 4 tires installed, added a front end alignment and didnt get out of there until 11:45!!!!!!In their defense they were SUPER busy BUT I had an appointment!!

Good service friendly staff. Online appointment needs improvement due to scheduling multiple vehicles at same time frame. Had to wait 4 and half hours for tires because of it but not workers fault, its company fault for their online appointment failure
They dont know how to properly rotate tires here I had to bring a rental car here to get a oil change and a tire fixed that had nails in it they didnt fix the tire we told them about to start with so they had to take it back into the bay to replace the tire even though they said they did there 21 point inspection and supposedly rotated the tires but all they did was put the front tires on the back and back tires on the front when you rotate tires you are supposed to put the back tires on the opposite side front and front tires on the back opposite side so that the wear pattern changes so that the tires wear evenly witch is the main reason for rotating the tires how can you supposedly inspect the tires and not notice 2 nails in 1 tire I would not bring my personal car to this pep boys and wouldnt recommend them to anyone else

Wasted time and total frustration!On a Sunday Pep Boys did my state inspection. The service was very swift! From Sunday night until Wednesday I kept trying to do my registration. Finally I looed at the paperwork and compared all the information. I discovered that they transposed a number on my license plate. So I contacted them, and I was told that the registration had nothing to do with the license plate. That it had to do with the Vin number. I find that interesting, because your tags come in the mail and get put on your license plate. Anyway I was told that and after arguing with me they finally said bring it back and they would reinspect the car. So I went there, and waited 40 minutes before they started looking at my car. The technician brought me the paperwork, and told me that the information was sent over instantly to the DMV. He gave me new and old paperwork and said to have them call Pep Boys. In spite of that, I sat in my car and tried to do the registration. A did not work! I walked back inside Pep Boys and talked to the 2 people at the counter. They told me it did not go into the DMV system instantaneously. They told me I had to wait overnight. So each day I tried and could not register my car until the 4th day! It finally went through. In the mean time my husband took off of work to take the car and paperwork to DMV. But because I was able to enter it, he did not have to go. But he lost a vacation day because of Pep Boys! We will never go back to Pep Boys!

My experience at Pep Boys started with an error with a tire order I had placed. I arrived for my appointment and the tires had not been delivered correctly. With this, the team (primarily worked with Jason and Tony - they are awesome!) went to work to find a solution. They were able to find me great tires, gave me a great discount for my inconvenience - matching the price of the tires I ordered even though the price would have been more, and took care of my car! They also heard my concerns about additional needs and the pricing, so they hooked me up with discounts and deals in order to take care of me and my car. I am so thankful! The boys got my back!
Very busy. I did not make an appointment so I was not able to get service. However the gentleman behind the counter was nice.
Had to return a windshield wiper where I had opened the package. The guy went on and on about how they were going to have to eat that . Literally said eat that 6 or 7 times. Said nobody would buy it with the open package. In my retail experience, the company who makes the product almost always takes it back from the retailer.

I was just in yesterday for them to check my battery which I got there last year . Told them I had to jump my car over the weekend and the night before. Well this morning at 6 am went to go to work and the car isn’t starting. This is very up setting to me. They also checked on other things to make sure it wasn’t anything else and said that everything looked good. Not sure what’s going on but as I said before feeling frustrated, upset, ect
I started going here a few years back for tires because the previous place I went didnt have alignment equipment! Ive also had them do a few oil changes, but that was the only fluid they seem to check. I noticed yesterday the parts store attached has shut down which is happening across the counrty supposedly. Luckily an Advance Auto is right next door!

It is not often that I take the time to write a review, but in this case it is easy to do! I have used the Garner location on multiple times. Each time I have walked out the door with a very positive feeling regarding the treatment I received. I have also felt that if I owned a business I would hire the store service manager (Jason F.) Each time I have dealt with him he has been extremely kind, considerate, fair and competent. I will definitely come to this store every time I need auto maintenance. I highly recommend the Garner location!!

I live in florida, but Friday I drove to visit my sister here in NC. On the drive in, my A.C. went out. I brought my car to the Pep Boys by my sisters place, and frantically explained to Jason my situation. He was kind and attentive. He didnt overtalk me...as I had no idea what I was trying to explain. My main concern was price. After doing the initial free AC check, he explained to the costs to fix my AC. Through my mask, I began to hyperventilate. I knew i didnt have that type of money. He helped calm me, offered to price match any cheaper price I found, and then sought other discounts to offset the cost. Another employee was taking her break, and Jason offered me a breakfast sandwich and coffee that he was paying for on their food run. Ive never in my life, in my 10+ years of driving and car maintenance had anyone so....caring! Jason was able to work out a GREAT deal within my price range, helped me get approved for a credit card to pay for the service, and offered to assist with any other services i needed during my visit to NC ! I swear i wished I lived in NC, Id be a pep boys customer for LIFE!! As long as Jason could care my car the way he cared for MY wallet!Thank you Jason, if you ever get the chance to read this.
Dont usually make the effort but this service was worth the time. Got a large bolt stuck in tire on the way home from work. Googled this place and called and they said to come over. Still going strong at 7pm with other customers. Took the bolt out and patched it within 30 minutes. Great customer service, friendly, personable AND only $23 for the work. Thank you for helping us make it to a restaurant in time.
Had a blowout on the highway and was towed to this pep boys location. The manager was very attentive and helpful with finding what needed to be replaced and finding the best price. My vehicle was serviced very quickly and the cost was more than reasonable. Definitely recommend this location and big shout out to the manager Jason for being such a professional and helpful individual.

Any 1 stars are wrong. I came in for an alignment only to find out that I had much more wrong from a recent run in with a curb. I needed a lot of work. Jason explained all my options and worked with my insurance company flawlessly. I got text updates every step of the way. Such great customer service. I hope I dont have to come back for any more damages but if I do, Ill come here.
This was my first time to Pep Boys but I had heard good things about this location from other customers. Everyone was very friendly and the service was top-notch. I used to change my own oil but after the great experience I had here, Ill definitely let them do it from now on! They also did a tire rotation for me. Great job and fast service. Will bring my vehicle here for regular maintenance from now on.
The worst experience. 4hrs to do a tire balance and an alignment. Unacceptable. The only saving grace was the young lady manning the counter on 8/13 for the closing shift. She at least cared enough to try to make it right. She atheist knew what she was doing.
Great service, just watch out for busy times. It took almost an hour for us to get things settled on putting a set of tires on my truck because the service area was extremely busy with only one man on at the service desk trying to handle everyone. He said they still had some furloughed staff due to coronavirus, but they needed more help the day I went in. Value was average, but overall it is not a bad choice, and the staff are friendly.
Pep Boys Garner is not recommended. Hubby took car in for a diagnosis - they diagnosed & supposedly fixed the problem HOWEVER,we still heard the same noise that we originally complained about and paid to get fixed. We took the car back to Pep Boys and all of a sudden they found more issues...seems to me they didnt know what they were doing in the first place. This isnt my first bad experience with this location. In fact, this was the first time weve been back since 2011. Dont know why my husband was so adamant about going - but I warned him before he went. Some things never change - customer service is so disrespectful, unprofessional and rude. NEVER AGAIN!

This Pep Boys location is the BEST !! I was late for my appointment and they still handled my oil change within an hour !!! THATS UNHEARD OF!! The icing on the cake was Renea who greeted me when I arrived. Not only was she cute but had the BEST customer service. As flustered and crazed as I was coming in because I was late, she calmly helped all with a smile behind her mask. THANKS RENEA!! :D
I showed up to the Garner NC Pep Boys last night (Friday 1/25/2020) at 6:30 without an appointment and 4 bad tires, one of which was almost completely flat. I did a google search for “tire stores open late” and they were 2 miles away. I have been needing a set of tires but I kept putting it off and now I was in a bad situation. Jason Frey walked out to my car with me and saw a bulging bald tire and 3 more almost the same. I needed one new tire minimally just to get home. Jason checked with the mechanics who were still there and they, with Jason, agreed to stay late to help me. I also badly needed brakes. (My little 2016 Honda has 130k miles on it and never had brake work). Jason offered me a “buy 3 get one free” deal for tires and said they would do it right now. They also installed new brakes. Those guys stayed over an hour late on a busy Friday night and I drove away from there safely, and a customer for life!

Came in to get my engine valve cover sealed . Oils was spilling out. They made it worse and they recommended to purchase a new one which I did and same issue.
They couldnt help me with my transmission so theres no reason why I should have went there. They should have told me on the phone. But they did refer me to another place which was good. The guy that helped me had gorgeous eyes. .
I received an oil change and they were very helpful and even helped me with making sure my daughter and puppy were OK.
Zero communication & customer service skills. I live in Apex 30 minutes away & Ordered tie rods at the garner location for an in-store pickup. The staff had to reorder them 2 separate occasions. I called about an hour before arriving to the store in order to pick up my parts, and the female that greeted me had no idea of what was going on and gave me a random part sitting on the shelf with no documentation on it or notes proving its mine. The manager promised to comp some of the parts for my trouble but was nowhere to be found the 3rd and final time I arrived. Although I had frustrations in the store, service department did a good job on my oil change.
This has got to be the BEST Pep Boys Auto Shop on the Earth! I have never seen a more competent staff as well as mechanical personnel! In all my years of going to Pep Boys I have never ever received the kind of service I got at this place. Until somebody can do a much better job I am taking all my cars this shop from here on out!

I wish it was possible to leave a negative review. Brought my car in to get a nail taken out. Whoever did it, botched it and I ended having to get a whole new tire. I even brought the car back in not even 30 minutes after getting it plugged and asked why the tire pressure light came back on, all he did was add air pressure into it.
Jason was amazing. He made my pep boys experience awesome and Ill definitely come back. Not only did he provide the service I asked for in a timely manner, but also let me know what to keep an eye out for and not just by telling me like most mechanics, he actually showed and explained the diagnostic tests for my vehicle to me... All in all Im more than satisfied and definitely will be using and referring people to the garner pep boys
Absolutely amazing customer service. They went well above in beyond in helping with what I thought was an issue with my starter. They had to deliver bad news, but they were empathetic, compassionate, and helped me develop a plan to prevent the issue from getting worse. This was my first visit here, but I’ll definitely be back. Ralph and the team were great.
Fantastic experience at store #0128 (Garner) today! Tony was probably the most professional and knowledgeable service writers Ive ever dealt with and Dave who I believe is the service manager was also extremely helpful. Almost unbelievable speed on the part of the service technicians as well. I brought in my daughters car today and my pickup and I couldnt be more pleased with the service I received. In and out quickly with both cars! This is how auto service is supposed to be! Excellent job guys!!!
Price was a little more then I wanted to pay but they took care of my vehicle quickly and had me back on the road promptly. Very happy I stopped there. Would do it again tomorrow if I needed to.
Was told my 2014 Honda Odyseey had a blown engine. Bought a new car, got a second opinion and all was needed was 6 new spark plugs. YES went from a blown engine to 6 plugs.Now I have another car payment.
I wish to be able to rate with 0 stars. One star is one to many based on my experience. We brought our car to pep boys #128 because our engine light went on and had the shop do the free testing...it showed multiple possibilities what can be the issue so we decided to leave the car there for the shop to do full diagnostic on it the next morning. In the morning I received call from the shop that we have two issues and I was told the repair would be over $850 dollars plus tax...I was shocked! I was curious about the part costs so I did some research before giving them answer about the repair...I found out that the part which the shop was going to charge us $92.59 is sold on pep boys website for $48.99 (exactly same, the same brand) that was very shocking and made me think about the results they gave me in the shop. I did not trust it after finding out. So my husband went to pick up the car, payed $106.16 (even we were told the day before the diagnostic is 89.99 plus tax...we were not told about $8.99 misc shop supplies fee they charged us). that made me upset even more. we took the car to different auto shop (not even mile away from pep boys) where we payed another $90ish dollars for another engine diagnostic and had the car repaired there after we were told that there is problem (the same as pep boys said) but there is no other problem (pep boys said we needed new part which itself cost over $400!). we were charged about $130 for repair needed. our car runs well now and the engine light is not on any more.If one shop give me quote for repair $850 and another shop does the repair around $130 that make me seriously think about other people who believe auto shop telling them truth and pay for repairs which are not needed (and maybe not even done)...it makes me furious. This should not happen!After my experience I am sure we will never go to Pep Boys again, I just lost trust that I would be told truth about what is wrong with my car.

I so badly want to be able to say I had a good experience with them, but I called on a Sunday morning asking if I could bring my car in for a state inspection and they told me that I could come at any time in the afternoon and I didn’t need to make an appt. I hop in the car later that afternoon and call to check on their hours (because it’s a Sunday) and they proceed to tell me to not bother coming in because there’s no way they can do my inspection. If I would have known they’d turn me away I would have made an appointment. It’s such poor customer service to not honor your word when inviting a customer in. Now I will need to find another company to take my business to

I was looking to buy a used Toyota Camry online and wanted to test drive it. The owner gave me an address, which I thought was his home address to come look at the car. I called him when I pulled into Pep Boys because I thought I was at the wrong place. He said he would be right out. He was wearing his mechanic clothes because he was at WORK! He gave us the keys and couldnt even tell us anything about the car then walks back into the mechanics bay to go back to work. It turns out he is a dealer on the side and shows cars while he is supposed to be working. If you are ever at Pep Boys, Bao is the mechanics name that was selling us a car on the side. I would not trust him because he was very dishonest and deceitful to us. For that reason I will no longer be doing business at Pep Boys.

Excellent, prompt service. My car feels like new again, David and Bill at the front desk and Steven my mechanic were an absolute delight as always. I will never hesitate to bring my car here, its the best place for quality service, friendly staff and great prices. And the waiting room is always clean, with comfortable chairs and even a Keurig for a nice hot cup of coffee while you wait! Its those little things that make a big difference while you wait for your repairs to be done and they are much appreciated!
A little wait but not a problem
Excellent work!! Windshield wiper assembly on my daughters 04 Ford Escape jumped off track and wipers were acting crazy and not working. Manager Tony and mechanic Louis figured out a way to get it fixed TODAY without having to wait for a part to be delivered tomorrow. Anywhere else I would have been met with an Oh well, nothing we can do! but Louis and Tony figured out a way to make it happen, TODAY, with a minimal wait and a reasonable cost. I cant express strongly enough my admiration for their outside-the-box thinking and their superior customer service. They cared about ME and my needs and got the job done. Fantastic job.
Nice, clean waiting area. Stevie was very helpful - advised me of what my car needed without feeling like she was trying to sale me on unnecessary items. Told me I needed an air filter & took a picture so I could see it. Has increased my gas mileage since replacing!

Took 2 hours to change oil and they weren’t even that busy.. no one stays on task and nothing gets done quick.. sticker said next oil change due in 300 miles so they can’t do simple math either.. paperwork incomplete, no 32nds documents for the tires, just put a zero for all readings.. customer waiting room looks like it hasn’t been cleaned all year.. last time I go to that location.
Sold me brake work to pass state inspection after I bought all new tires. Shop that inspected 4 days prior failed vehicle for ONE tire not being good. One of them is lying, I tend to think its the one that just charged me over $1K!
