The Service Tech, Steve Newell, arrived on time and completed a thorough check of our garage doors. He noticed that one of the cables was faulty and replaced the faulty cable. Steve provided a thorough summary of the scope of work and made sure that the garage doors were working properly before advising me that the job was completed. A week after moving into a new home, the 25-year old garage door broke. I called Overhead Door of Charlotte, received an appointment 4 days later and Harold, the technician, did a fabulous job fixing the problem. He called when he was 20 minutes from our home, was friendly, professional and did a great job for a reasonable fee. I would highly recommend Overhead Door of Charlotte.

I had 2 different service techs come- Harold came for the initial assessment and measurements and then Steve Newell installed the new springs once they arrived. What a joke. I have a broken belt on my garage door. I have called at least 10 times to get a replacement part. Every time, some one tells me they will check to see if its in stock and that they will call me back. No one has ever called me back!I finally broke down and scheduled to have their technician come out and repair the door. They scheduled me for a 4 hour window and low and behold....couldnt be bothered to show up or let me know that they would be late. I called and they finally told me the technician was running very behind.But they offered to reschedule me! No thanks, I have wasted enough time with this company.

We had to call Overhead Door after a service call from another company didnt work out. Initially when I called them they were knowledgeable and scheduled us to have our Overhead Door motor fixed. The installer, Steve Newell was the reason why Im writing this review. Even after we paid him he stayed and replaced our outdoor garage door keypad. Then he explained the logistics of our existing equipment. He also programmed our two new garage door openers. It was a breath of fresh air to have someone to take their time (on a Friday after 5pm!) to make sure we were satisfied. He went above and beyond and we are so happy with our what feels like a new garage door! Did I mention he saved us over $200 compared to the other company? Amazing!

Harold has serviced two doors for me within the past few months. He is professional, fair and does great work. I would use him again but hopefully won’t be needed anytime soon. Thanks for a job well done. Great to know there are people who still take pride in their work.

I had several quotes to replace my garage door, and went with Overhead because of reputation, although they were slightly higher in price. WHAT A MISTAKE!!!! Literally everything they touched was done wrong and they damaged my brand new garage door frame aluminum wrap. The drive rail - wrong one installed. The door tracks - installed incorrectly, The weather stripping - installed incorrectly and left covered in dirty grime. The motor - wrong one installed, NOT the one I paid for and they still havent told me when they will replace it with the upgraded one I paid for nor have they offered a refund. The new garage door panels - damaged They did come out and adjust the door tracks, but the incorrect drive rail is still installed, they say until they install the correct motor, but they have no idea when or if that will happen. They painted the new panels where they were scratched and replaced the weather stripping. I remember a time when someone you hired took pride in doing a good job, that was certainly not the case with Overhead Door in my case. We are now months past my first encounter with the company and the install is still not done correctlyUPDATE: The company never did make any serious offer of compensation or attempt to repair the aluminum wrap they damaged. Since shortly after the install, the garage door sounds like it is getting ready to explode every time it raises or lowers, as if it is struggling to move. The squeaks, screeches, and moans are very loud. I will need to find a competent garage door company that can come adjust this door and/or make repairs to fix what is clearly a botched install

Scheduled to have 2 side mount openers installed. Appointment was for Oct 13 between 12-4. Tech called me at 4:05 and said he was 30 mins out. Called back 2 mins later and said he grabbed the wrong openers and they didn’t have the side mount openers in stock. He said someone would reach out. 1 week later, still hadn’t heard from anyone, called the office. They acted like it was no big deal.

Hello:It took me three phone calls to reach a manager to make my complaint. When you goggle this company another company comes up. It was very concerning and brought on confusion. When I spoke to the manager allegedly and spoke about the unprofessional employee who I found out to be a new employee. I never was offered an apology or demonstrated any concern from management. Now, this is what happen ! Spoke to the employee in reference to a problem with my garbage opener.snd was told the price would be $125.00 . This employee told me they would be preparing the opener and never asked me if this is what I wanted to do. She absolutely knew this was an insurance claim and knew there needed to be a assessment first to see what the main cause was . I am so glad I found out about this ( no caring and unproductive, unprofessional company before they came out to my home on this Friday. Secondly, I was given the wrong corporate number ect. Consumers, think twice before you call this company ! People have the right to pick and choose Who they may want to fix their personal belongings. It’s not for no company to make that determination/ decision. They lost a potential customer!!

I ordered replacement doors for my shop and was charged full price on day of order. Had problems with order but they tried to make everything right! Appreciate the effort

Received great service. Howard replaced my broken spring and installed a new opener for the door. He was professional and very efficient in getting everything working properly. The nice thing was he called me 40 minutes before reaching my house so that I could leave work and meet him at the house instead of having to wait at the house for the 4 hr scheduled window. Howard did a great job..

I was scheduled for the day after I called for service. Chad and Tyler were prompt, professional, efficient and very congenial. The charge was reasonable and I was pleased with the job done. Antoine, who I talked with over the phone was also very nice and helpful. Count me a happy camper!

Great experience with them. Howard came to the house even though it was getting late and gave great advice. Today Howard put in the new garage door device and very pleased with the results. Really went out of the way for customer service.

They installed my doors the day before Thanksgiving. They asked me to come make sure looked ok. They looked like installed great, but said it looked like different color than i ordered. When I had chance to check I realized they installed the wrong color. I ordered taupe and they installed sand, which was much lighter than ordered. I texted the salesperson and she never replied. I called the day after and receptionist said everyone was gone for the holiday. I never received a reply about my call or message. I ended up letting it go and will end up having to paint them. If you do business with them - make sure you get what you ordered.

I should have call Overhead Door of Charlotte first! I had another company come out three different times telling me I need parts, a new door, etc.... I called Overhead door of Charlotte and they came out on time and we’re very professional! They made adjustments and fixed my doors in no time! We had 2 doors installed new with openers in Cornelius. Blair was our sales person and did a great job explaining (new construction recommendations) and quoting. They were installed. After a few months we had a squeak develop. They came out right away and fixed it in minutes. The techs were very polite. I am very glad I chose these guys over the other three I received quotes from.

Howard was amazing! One of our doors was a complete mess--wheels popped, wires broken, stuck at an angle. He came out on a Sunday night and did an amazing job in a very short period of time. Most importantly, Howard was a pleasure to work with--an incredibly nice man with a true spirit of service. I highly recommend both Howard and the company.

Our garage door opener had stopped working in a flash of smoke and sparks. I was expecting to have to replace our old opener. Their service person, Howard, noted it was just the capacitor needing replacement. Great service. Very professional. Saved a lot of money and time.

This company’s customer service is awful. On 12/13/18, Randy the OHD technician arrived at my home late without a call to prior to his arrival. He then opened the garage door without unlocking it damaging the door. He then proceeded to unbend the section of the door brace that was now damaged, by banging it with a hammer. He acknowledged his mistake and stated he would call his boss to make note. Upon Randy requesting payment for the service call, I requested that the damage to the door be noted on the invoice. Randy advised that he was not equipped to provide invoices and I would need to call the office. I have called twice speaking to two different reps each time. Leeann, the second rep had no record of my initial call but stated she would call Steve the resident manager and I would get a return call. I never got that call so I followed up in writing to get my door repaired. To this date, 12/21/18 I have gotten NO RESPONSE!!!!

Overhead Garage Door service representative came to my house on same day (within hours) of my initial call to them; I had just moved into a new house and wanted the garage door evaluated and repaired; the service rep was very courteous, prompt and knowledgeable, and fixed the problem with the door and reprogrammed it for me, within about 30 minutes; they have definitely earned my future business. I just had 2 new garage doors installed with new doors, rails & openers. Blair was wonderful to work with when she came out for the consultation! The new doors are so quiet, you can hardly hear them when they are opened or closed. I opted for the wi-fi opener & love that I can check on my phone to see if I accidentally left my door open & close it if needed! This was a truly great experience & their price was better than other quotes I received.

We called Overhead Door Company of Charlotte and they came out to tell us that our Overhead Garage door is no longer being made and they do not have the part to fix it. The only way to fix the door is to buy a new one. Even though they did nothing for me they charged me $125 just to come out and look at it (But if I use them for a new Garage door they will discount it $125). I then decided to go with them to buy a New Garage door, so I contacted them about a Quote I had previously received. It took them 2 days to call me and then I didnt hear from them for a Week. Next they scheduled me for an install without consulting me on a best date and time. I will never use this company so they can keep my $125.

Complete and utter rip-off!!! They want to charge $75 for a part you can get from Genie for $8.50. Genie support recommended these clowns as the part could be picked up locally. One would expect some markup but 600% plus markup? The poor receptionist up front was flabbergasted when I showed him the part on the Genie website. He felt that he had to apologize to me when it should have been the manager in the back ignoring the situation.

Its Sunday forgot my hatchback open as I backing up knock the garage door off rails,my heart sank at the sound of hell.Try to fix it end up ripping my hand open,,,,,Said screw this and just call overhead door of CLT,Agree to the week end rates service tech showed on about time explain my door issues and he took a look, next words I heard was,No problem I have you all set Sir.Companies like this in the south so cool to hear get address in a nice toneMy tech is Brian Whittey..was explain what need doing and that it be find.At end of service he again explain what was needed and what I was signing to having a tech out on a wkend.So cheers overhead door.This was my second time using overhead doors and hope other customers get this company when your doors are screwed up,

On November 16, 2018...we requested service from ODC. Our garage door opening switch...located in the garage was not working as designed. The technician said there was a short in the wiring as it connected to the opening switch. He fixed the issue...and we were charged $125 for the service call. Two days later...nothing worked...the switch that was serviced was not operating...we called for another appointment....three days later...another technician came. He determined there was a short in the wiring that connected to the switch...he said an electrician would have to run new wiring. The other option was...ODC could run a new wire...but would have to do it along the ceiling and wall of the garage and not in the attic and down the wall to the switch. I spoke to ODC about the matter and initially we agreed they would run the new wire as it was originally intended...but they would charge $40 per half hour to do this work. The more I thought about this...I decided to do it myself....and did so...switch works fine. I requested that the initial service call charge of $125 be refunded, since the work only lasted two days....ODC said....we provided a second service call and did not charge you for that call....really...you did not do anything and the initial service lasted two days...if customer satisfaction is your goal....you have failed

So very happy with the customer service, Steve was such a joy, took the time to explain what he was doing, he made me feel like a valued customer. thank you Steve !!!!

The absolute worst customer service ever. They are only concerned with one thing... Collecting payment. Could care less if your garage door actually works. Mention warranty and they run for the hills. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
