Poor communication. Company never followed through. Needed refrigerator repair service and my warranty company scheduled the appointment with this company. When the guy called I could barely hear him with his phone connection. Tried to set an appointment, was told his would call back that Monday to confirm a time. Never heard back. Very disappointed.
We are in the middle of a home renovation and our AC unit stopped working. Our contractor used their AC company to diagnose the problem and came back to us with a $1,700 repair quote. We have had such amazing service with Home-Tech before on our refrigerator and dishwasher that we scheduled an appointment with them to look at our AC as well. Our assigned service tech, Cory, was on time (actually early) and was able to get our AC up and working within an hour. We have the silver membership and it is worth every penny!
We arrived back in town to find the temperature inside the house at a ‘balmy’ 94°F. Charles Harper from Home Tech showed up in under an hour and fixed the AC. Thank you, Charles. My AC drain clogged and was overflowing and he fitted me in. He quickly vacuumed and blasted out the clog and checked the system for proper operation. He also replaced a rotted, disgusting insulation tube that was never replaced by the previous owners service.

I have a Whirpool dishwasher (Model WDF520PADM5). The heating element (Part # W10518394) on this dishwasher broke. I know how to replace it, but unfortunately its very hard to get parts now...waiting time on this particular part is over a month. I called Home-Tech in Lakewood Ranch, FL and told them I need the heating element replaced. Lady on the phone (Peggy) said it will be $99 to come out + parts & labor and she said someone will be here between 10 am and 12 noon. Technician arrived at 10 am and as soon as he opened the dishwasher he said it needs a new heating element, and wait time is about 10 days! and he writes me an invoice for $99 for coming out to my house and telling me what I already knew (They wanted another $325 to come back and replace a part that cost $79 at Whirlpool site & $35 on Amazon). I was very specific on my call explaining what I needed replaced. Why would they send out a technician and charge $99 if they did not have the part that needed to be replaced? It seems like they sent a tech out to my house just so they could charge their basic $99 fee! What this company did today seems very outrageous.

I just had a brand new AC installed by this company less than a year ago and have had problems since day one. It doesnt cool properly and runs non-stop without kicking off. The thermostat can be set at 77 and read that it is 77 inside and it never kicks off. I have had them out several times to look at it and they cant seem to figure it out. My 18 year old unit ran better than this brand new one before it died on me. This is supposed to be the same unit I had previously. Im literally using a small window AC I have in my back bedroom to cool the house down enough for the Large Home AC unit to kick off:-(

I am a longtime customer of Home Tech and with only a couple of exceptions they have been very good. I do think that the annual cost for the service contract is a bit too high. I have replaced the HVAC as well as most of my appliances in our home, but the annual contract cost has not gone down. In the past the annual cost was posted on their website, but recently (for the past few years) the cost is calculated using a formula that they won’t share with the customer. That said, the service that they provide is top notch! The techs are friendly, well informed about the appliances that they service, and very efficient. In terms of the actual service that they provide, I am very happy!
I bought the service agreement with the first service call I had. Have had Home Tech out three times since and have had a great experience each time. As a previous HVAC company owner I know and fully understand how difficult this business is to run. Being from the Northeast I had a huge adjustment moving to Florida where the laid back attitude often felt like poor service. That has not been the case with Home Tech. Just put in another call and looking forward to another great experience.
Home-Tech is AWESOME! I am a kitchen remodeler, Home-Tech is the only appliances dealer that I will refer my customers to. Home-Tech is the ONLY appliance company in our area that delivers & installs what they sell. Other companies use sub contractors for delivery and installation. When a customer uses another company for appliances, there seems to always be a problem. The sub contractors just dont seem to care. Home-Tech is an employee owned company, they truly care about their customers. I have been referring customers to Home-Tech for 18 years, they do not pay me any commissions, other companies will pay me a commission, its just not worth the problems! Thank you Jeff, Amanda and J. I had an air condition probably after six at night I called them.I do have a contract with them.They came with in two hours and the tech Daniel (854) was very helpful .He was able to figure out what was wrong and told me he would have to come back the next day to fix the problem. He came back first thing in the morning and was able to fix the problem.If you every need anything done he is great to ask for. Very helping and really knows what he is doing.I highly recommend this company. I give it a five star.
Dan (#854) did a great job fixing our A/C issue tonight. Dan was prompt, courteous, professional & efficient, He did a great job of explaining what the issue was. Dan replaced our inside thermostat as well as our outside capacitor to resolve the issue of not cooling. Dan did this after a thorough review of the entire system. He also showed me (with the thermometer) the air temp was was at least 20 degrees cooler than the outside temperature. Despite several bad series of communications with the Ft. Myers office in scheduling the appointment, when Dave 842 showed up ON TIME to look at my all-in-one rooftop A/C unit which my condo association said was dripping water onto the newly installed roof, I found Dave to be thoroughly polite and competent. When the call was first made, I stated it was NOT and emergency, and described the issue; I also told the office I wanted to schedule the annual maintenance check. They told me the first issue had to be treated as an emergency and they would schedule the annual maintenance visit for a month or so after the service call. When the technician showed up, I explained the situation and asked why it couldnt all be done at the same time, since he was already here. He agreed, called his supervisor, and got both calls completed in one trip. No issues since.Note: the 5-Star rating for this review applies to the technician (Dave 842), and NOT to how the company handled the calls for service. In addition to the above I had asked them NOT to call me before 11AM (I work late). Both times they called me, it was a little after 8AM, They also said the tech would call me when he was 15 minutes from my house, and they gave me a 10AM-Noon window, He never called, just showed up on the dot of 10AM. When I told him the office said he would call on his way, he said, I dont know why they told you that...you are my first call of the day, and we only call customers who are after the first stop of the day, because we never know how long that first appointment will take. Made sense to me. Now, if someone could just educate the people who work the phones for this company, that would be great.

Weve had him provide service to us before and he is always professional, competent, friendly, and gives us needed advice. kudos to Steve and to Home-Tech.On 9/24 Dan #803 performed our annual AC service. He was prompt, quick, and professional. He answered all my questions and gave me helpful advice, even about my dishwasher which he had serviced a few months ago.

We experienced 2 issues with our A.C. and a tech named Steve #678 came and resolved both issues quickly and efficiently. Equally as important was his manner. He explained thing clearly, and went above and beyond what could be reasonably expected in his efforts to see that we were satisfied. Once we purchases a service agreement a contract was mailed to our home.I recently called for service on my kitchen refrigerator. The service call was scheduled by Peggy who is great! She is friendly, courteous and very pleasant to work with.The technician was Steve #678. Steve is very professional, courteous and thorough in his examination and review of the issue. He diagnosed the problem and determined that a new part was required. He ordered the part and came back to install & completely resolved our water dispenser issue on our refrigerator.Bottom line...we are very satisfied with Home-Tech.

I had to make my first call to Home-tech because I woke up to find my heat was not working. I got up, checked it and it was done. So I called at 8:00 and Adam called not long after to say he would arrive in 30 minutes, which he did. He was so helpful, polite and professional and he was done in like 15 or 20 minutes after finding the problem and fixing it. I am so grateful to myself for realizing how good this would be. Our 2.5 year old dryer started making a truly horrible noise. Were new to the state and didnt know whom to contact, so we Googled dryer repair near me. Home-Tech seemed to have the best ratings, so we called and Daniel came out. He arrived right at the beginning of the service window, which was excellent. He did a very professional job with the dryer and explained the service agreement to us. For new Floridians like us, the agreement had a lot of advantages: we no longer need to worry about finding different folks to fix different appliances. Were very happy we found Home-Tech.
Plumber Chris (#478) is outstanding. He was prompt, courteous, clean, and technically impressive. He replaced an old washer feed with an updated model that required adaptations. He also had to cut drywall to fit the new box but suggested how I could repair the defect. Attaboy Chris!

Home Tech is a great service, with prompt response time and knowledgeable, diligent technicians. Steve(#678) has been our go to technician of late. Steve is fantastic, whether its an emergency or hes just doing a service preventative maintenance on the HVAC system. Steve will explain exactly whats hes doing and then give us a recap(that we can understand) once hes completed the work. Hes been a great resource on getting new appliances when necessary and in providing us his best insight into the potential life left in a particular appliance or system. In an employee owned company, Steve certainly treats his customers the way an owner should.

The fabric softener would not drain properly and after putting up with it for more than a year Dan was able to repair the problem. Home-tech service and repairmen have been excellent. Contract is fair and with several house calls in the past years, there have been NO HIDDEN CHARGES. Amazing! The techs, Steve, Dave, etc. have be curteous, professional, NOT RUSHED, explained everything, etc. We will renew this contract and add plumbing which includes replacing the water heater.
About 5:30pm we discovered that our AC unit was not cooling. We are new to Home-Tech and were not sure that they would come but about 7:00 we got a call from Milton that he would be here in about 20 minutes. He arrived at the appointed time and immediately went to work. Witnin15-20 minutes he finished and said it was a capacitor and everything is fine. I loved Home-Tech when I had a service contract on my home in Fort Myers, so I was delighted to discover that they service Lakewood Ranch, where I now live. My air conditioner quit working and it was hot and humid when I called. About 3 hours later, Home-Tech Steve #678 arrived and solved the problem. We are cool and happy again. Ive always received great service from really nice people, and highly recommend Home-Tech.

Serviceman Dave #842 was very efficient and handled a situation that he did not expect. Initially, we thought our wash machine needed a shut of switch to stop the water flow. Dave discovered that we also had a rusted out hose clamp. He fixed everything and cleaned up when he was finished. Nice Guy!!

Our technician (Steve #678) was super nice and informative. Although there was nothing seriously wrong with our Bosch dishwasher we still called for a tech to come out to make sure. A few days earlier my husband had installed a new garbage disposal and forgot to knock out the plug in the new disposal unit for the dishwasher to drain properly. Once we discovered the issue the dishwasher had been turned on and seem to run forever.....and wouldnt drain. Once we removed the plug from the new disposal unit the dishwasher started to drain. Since this occurrence the dishwasher motor was a little noisier than it had been. We thought it best to have it checked out. Steve arrived and ran the dishwasher thru its cycles and assured us it was in proper working order and charged us only a service call fee. Super nice guy.The Grants

He went right to work and did the maintenance on the system and explained everything he had done and left me with a peace of mind about our system.Secondly, I also had the Dishwasher breakdown and it was easy to add it to the scheduled visit. I explained the error code I was getting and Daniel knew exactly what he needed to do. He repaired the dishwasher and explained what went wrong.I had never used Home-Tech before and didn’t know what to expect. I just had HT install a new Tram AC/Heatpump and fan system and they did a great job.The two techs (Adam 833 and Cory 471) were very professional and friendly and stayed late into the evening to insure that the unit was working up to specs.. a great team. Most of all I would like to thank Milt (I think his employee # is 373) for all the wonderful work he has done for me in my home. I am 92 years old and my husband was a master plumber; so I know talented service people when I see them work and Milt is certainly talented and knowledgeable and very efficient. The last time he was here, he fixed three different repair and replacement problems for me. He corrected them promptly and perfectly. I called for service regarding a leak under the dishwasher and non operating garbage disposal......the service person was Shaun 737. He was able to quickly diagnose problem and make recommendations and order a replacement water valve and identify the need for a plumber to replace water valve shut off under the sink for the DW.The garbage disposal just needed to be reset.....He was efficient, courteous and very helpful.I am pleased that I have the Home Tech service and the plumber option.

All of the technicians have been very profesional and pleasant. I have purchased 3 heat pumps or furnaces and had repairs on a warming drawer and refrigerator. I plan to continue to use them. Their yearly maintenance agreement has a number of exclusions but I will probably renew.
Had a very urgent call for repair of Ac unit that super-cooled a 1200 Bottle wine cellar collection which is kept at 66-67F. Tech: Dan 854 came on Sat AM to repair the AC unit in less than 30 minutes. This is the second time Dan was here on a different AC problem (different AC unit) that Dan was involved in. I cannot praise Dan enough for saving a precious wine collection so quickly (on a Saturday). Today, Matt James (#881) conducted an annual service check of our AC/Heat-pump in our condo on Siesta Key. He was very professional and his inspection of the system was thorough. He discovered that someone had installed a second air filter in the air handler in addition to the filter that was in place in the air return duct. This second filter impeded the flow of air through the system, thereby reducing the systems efficiency. Mr. James removed the second filter and then cleaned the coils in the air handler. I am a 20 year customer. Steve, Tech # 678 inspected a new washing machine that was banging during the spin cycle. He quickly identified the problem and repaired it. He was on time, pleasant and knowledgeable.I recommend Home tech to all my new neighbors.
We inherited Home-tech with our house in Fl. and now we wouldnt be without it. They cover all our major appliances. For the yearly fee of $500 they will come to your home and fix any covered appliance at no charge! They even check your AC unit once a yearas part of the service. Dan (803) is our service rep. and he is the best, always courteous, clean, and knowledgable. John

They are always prompt and friendly from the phone call to the tech, who is always knowledgeable and always ready to help with any issue that may not have been arranged at the time the appointment was made.I contracted with Home-Tech when I got my new home 8 years ago, any have been so glad that I have the coverage they offer. Home-tech service man, Dan #854, arrived within the 2 hour time frame given. He was extremely polite & cordial. Explained everything he did and all was done in a timely fashion.
Shane (invoice #851) knew exactly what he was doing. He was thorough and took the time needed to complete the task and answer all of my questions. He remained patient and pleasant throughout a lengthy examination and ultimately identified a problem that could easily have been missed. -Excellent service all around!

Milton came and fixed our air conditioner on November 18. We werent using as much air conditioning at that time but it helped to get it working again. I appreciated how well it went without any more issues. Well done!

Called Tuesday for a refrigerator problem. Peggy set up appointment and Milt came on Thursday. Very prompt service; very professional and knowledgeable technician. We were in a bind with our freezer not working and a close friend had recommended Home-Tech. We had Steve #678 as our tech. Same day service. He called on the way over and was on time. Steve did a great job fixing our refrigerator! We found it only costed about $100 more to go with the service plan that covered this call plus a whole year of complete service/parts/labor for all our appliances including the central AC System!
Dave (842) did our annual tune-up of A/C and heat pump today. This is the second time he has serviced our unit. We were so pleased to see him as our tech again today because he is so thorough and professional. Home-Tech should be proud to have him as an employee!
