I have been using Gordon’s Automotive for years. They always take such great care of my vehicles and they have excellent customer service and fair prices for quality work.

On a day trip from Houston to Austin with my dog, my van overheated. I called 6 mechanics close by and none could see it that day. I called AAA and the said I was going to Gordons. I called and the said they could look at it as soon as I got there. It was around 3 PM. They determined I needed a new radiator. I approved ordering a new one, they said it would be there at 8 AM. Now I need a car and a place to stay. No car rentals available on short notice. They knew of a hotel close(less than a mile). Temps were in 90s. I reserved a room and said I could walk. Maggie said she would personally take me, so my dog and I would have to walk along Burnet in 90 degree weather at rush hour.I called back about 8:30 in morning, they were already working on it. She called at 10:30AM. It was ready. She sent someone to pick me up. My van is running great. Highly recommend.

I have used Gordon’s for many years and have always found them to be highly qualified and very honest.They clearly scope and describe necessary repairs. Gordon’s clearly states related recommended repairs and give me options. Options are clearly described and I have never felt like I was being upsold.Gordon’s is not the cheapest shop in town, but I feel like I have always gotten a fair price and high quality.I frequently recommend Gordon’s to friends especially when the car issues are unclear or very serious.

The staff is friendly and the oil change was a good price. The only thing that I didnt like was that I dropped my car off and it wasnt finished at the estimated time because they said someone came by after me and waited for their car so they did mine after theirs.

I’ve used Gordon’s twice now for both of my vehicles. Haven’t had anything but a pleasant experience here. Professional people doing professional work, from the front office to the mechanics. They don’t try to up-sell on something just to get more money out of you, but will make recommendations that make sense. Great shop!!!

Came in from out of town for oral surgery and upon leaving the doctors office the car began misfiring badly and the check engine light came on. It was quickly apparent that we weren’t going to make it the hour and half back home without some help. With googles help we limped to a couple of nearby mechanics but they were all too busy, and one not even a bit nice about it, to even look at the car. So we kept googling and calling and got to Gordon’s. Maggie answered the phone and was very helpful, and friendly to boot, and said they would get us taken care of. So my poor husband napped and relaxed in their very nice comfortable waiting room, and we were back on the road in a few hours, even before the novicane wore off. Thanks for the rescue Gordons!!

I usually do my own maintenance on my vehicles. In this case the cost of tools was more expensive than the labor (I supplied my own part). They did the repair to my satisfaction and standards. Ill use them again.

Gordon is excellent! Good auto help is hard to find and I trust Gordon not only to do great work but also not try to oversell me on things I don’t need. My battery drained from a year of light use during covid and the winter storm and I was ready to have to replace it and possibly handle electrical issues. Gordon just charged the battery and it solved the electrical problems and the battery is fine. They even kept it overnight with my permission to confirm it didn’t drain overnight. Almost anywhere else would’ve just switched out the battery and not even tried, which would’ve not only cost me but would be an unnecessary hit to the environment and I care very much about limiting my waste. Thanks Gordon!

I was referred by AAA for an 86-point preventive inspection. They found two items: needed a new air filter and one of the rear license plate lights was broken. It took half a day and several phone calls to locate a replacement light. The total bill was $100 and I thought that was very reasonable- I don’t want to get pulled over on a dark and stormy night because of a license plate light! A well-equipped, competent, and friendly shop.

Replaced power door lock actuator. Excellent job, will be returning for general maintenance.

Ive been using Gordons for 10 years or so. Look, its hard to find a mechanic shop that gives the kind of service they do. In the beginning I used to comparison call other places to see what they would charge for what I needed done. Gordons was always in the same ball park. They have never tried to up sell me on work. They will tell you what your options are before they start repairs. They will give you a heads up on things they notice when doing routine oil change kind of work. They have an old beater car theyll let you use if you have to leave your car overnight and need transportation so you dont miss work. Theyre just nice people. Honest people who do really good work repairing and maintaining your car. I highly recommend them.

We thought our car needed brake work, but the problem was diagnosed as a wheel bearing/hub issue. The work was done promptly and there was no attempt to upsell services or other repairs. We appreciate their honesty and reliability.

The mechanic diagnosed my AC and quickly said its a leaking evaporator coil. $1600 total about $1000 labor. Turns out it was a hose. This is the reason its so hard for people to trust mechanic shops. Places like this can give good mechanics a bad name. Unbelievable!!!

Quality and efficient auto repair shop. Our car was ready the next day after dropping it off. They contacted us every step of the way for updates and approval. Transparent about pricing from the beginning and did not try to up sale us. Offered a ride from the shop so saved us having to pay for transportation. Overall very positive experience.

I honestly cant say enough good things about Gordon Automotive. Their service is top rate...excellent! Their service people techicians and mechanics are simply the best you will find. I trust them completely and have always been totally satisfied with their work. Not only are they extremely competent and efficient but additionally, they are very fair and forthright. As a single woman their fairness and honesty is extremely important to me and I wouldnt think of taking my car any place else.

I took my 85 Blazer to this shop because it was having trouble starting. I figured it was a simple problem, so it should be a simple fix. They quoted me $670 to fix the problem, and ended up replacing a few parts in the lower portion of my distributor which did not fix the problem at all! Whats worse is when they gave me that price over the phone I asked them if thats all I would need done (didnt want to go broke making a car start) and they told me that it would completely fix my problem. They lied to me. I called back and they ended up telling me I needed a new carburetor, so after waiting a week and a half to hear back from them I bought my own and installed it. I was having some simple vacuum leak issues (that I resolved myself later) and I called them in good faith and asked them what the problem might be. A grumpy old man answered and told me he wouldnt give me any advice over the phone and that just to take a look theyd charge me $120. Did I mention they dont waive the diagnosis fee of you choose for them to do the work? All in all, if I had chosen Gordon Automotive to fix my car I would have paid close to a thousand dollars to make my car start! Ridiculous. This company doesnt care about holding up to their word, theyd rather you come back and give them more of your cash so they can continue fixing the problem you originally had that they didnt fix! One star rating, for real, you guys did a terrible job! Never again. Save your money and go to a better mechanic!

$1245 for a tune up. Really. Dont take your hybrid here.$24/spark plug. $161/coil. When I complained about those prices they said thats what it took to do it correctly with OEM parts. I reluctantly agreed to it, as theyd already had my car days longer than they told me it would take.I called another shop asked them what it would take to do the same work. They gave me a written quote, exact same parts, less than half the price of Gordons.I asked Gordons about that, and why they were charging so much for parts - they answered that I should check with the dealer - that their prices were reasonable.So, I did. I checked with the dealer. Even the dealer prices were quite a bit cheaper. The dealer wanted $13.20 for the spark plugs that Gordons was charging me $24/each.I asked again about being more expensive than the dealer. They admitted it, and asked what I wanted. I asked for the difference in price back. They hung up on me.

Been a customer with my fleet of vehicles for 21 years. They do good dependable work and back up their work. They will beat the dealers price and let me know when the dealer is recommending things my cars dont need. They are not cheap and their prices are fair and that is worth the price for dependable car repairs. They often have a loner car which really helps when I need to leave my car. They made sure my camper was ready to go on a long trip reworking the lights so that everything worked. It is real peace of mind to know I am being treated fairly and not ripped off. I appreciate having their service. 10-4-20 I just had my Toyoto Avalon serviced there yesterday. Oil change and tire rotation. I had mentioned that I was making a road trip and when I returned to get my car I was told they looked the entire car over to make sure there was no issue for a long road trip. Peace of mind!

I am so happy that I took my vehicle to Gordon Automotive when it started running rough. Everybody there is honest, informative and friendly! My car ended up needing a lot more work than I had planned for (which I suspected) and it has NEVER ran as good as it does now. The review below was posted earlier. Since then Ive taken the vehicle in several times, probably not as often as I shouldve for the routine maintenance - dont tell. My opinion hasnt changed, theyre still excellent. I wouldnt bother to update this if they werent.Ive used Gordon Automotive for about 8 years. Theyve always done good service. I tend to put off things so sometimes an oil change turns into a lot more. But I have an older vehicle, it needs the attention. I prefer their thoroughness to an emergency tow.I see no reason to look for someone else to work on my vehicle.

I made an appointment for early service - it was regular maintenance oil change. The shop was open early. The staff were courteous and professional. I really appreciate that they explain everything - why to do it, the materials involved and the options available. I have been going to Gordons for over 20 years -- they have maintained several cars for me!

You have to trust your mechanic with your vehicle. I left the shop where I had been for 15 years because that trust was lost. I liked Gordon Automotive but this last experience is simply too much.I brought my car here to get an inspection at 10am. I made the appointment several days in advance. They take ~1hr to look at the car, ok that’s fine, then they tell me I need a new tire, but otherwise it’s good. I told them I’d go to Lucas Tire which is down the street and then come back.I go to Lucas, get the new tire, then come back. Gordon Automotive takes my keys and says they’ll get right on it.I check in 45 minutes later and it turns out they SENT THE CAR TO LUCAS TIRE FOR THE INSPECTION.Things that should have happened differently:-they shouldn’t take appts for inspections if they don’t do them.-they should have told me they would send my car out and it would take longer.-they should have called me from Lucas instead of driving the car back to tell me I need a new tire.-they should have told me to stay at Lucas when I told them I was going there for a new tire and I’d be back.-when I brought up how misleading it was, they told me they only handled “customer service”It’s just absurd. They did comp my $18.50 inspection after I complained but they have lost all my future business.

For example, they have been taking care of my Ford Taurus from shortly after it was purchased in 2001 until the present day. They also took care of my 1994 Nissan Altima until I sold it in 2014. Went in multiple times. Ripped off my dad and tried with me . towed 5x for same problem with my car when I told them what was probably wrong the initial visit .After new alternator etc finally talked to one of the mechanics and showed him Google saying it was probabl and it was the fuel relay just as i said the first time to look at. Told my chick mechanic friend what happened and how bad of service and 5x towed there my buck same problem, and not telling her which place I went to .She guessed Gordons. Theres a lot of places to choose from on a blind guess. Spend a lot many times and get soo little. Thats the Gordons way. Lol ..new motto.

Gordon Automotive is honest and reliable. Have trusted them with my cars for over 30 years. With Gordons help, Ive avoided a major car service. But after 160,000 miles, the transmission wore out. They compared rebuilding to replacing and replacing made most sense. Highly recommend them.

I am beyond frustrated with Gordons automotive. My family has been using their services for generations and have always done a great job. This time it was a horrible experience. They gave my car back in worse shape then it went in. They replaced the fuel pump in my car and when I got my car back I wasnt able to put in a full tank of gas. Ive had to come back 3 times after the original service date and the problem is still not solved.We came in this morning for the last time for them to fix my fuel sensor. I still cant fill up a full tank of gas. I also asked them to fix my left front headlight that went out and they said it fell out of place and put it back in place and it works. That did nothing the light still does not work. Im very disappointed in the service we recieved especially since this was a shop our family thought we could trust.

When we first used Gordon, 18 years ago, we brought our car in and was told the problem and the price. My husband thought that it was not a fair price, and took the car to another place. Come to find out that the OTHER place charged higher for the same work, the parts DID cost exactly what Gordon had told us, and the OTHER place wanted to tack on a bunch of stuff. We went back to Gordon, and have always been happy. Repairs are done right, at a fair price, with costs simple and easy, and they never have given us repairs we didnt need. I absolutely believe that they would not let a car leave if they were worried about the drivers safety, and that is AWESOME. They always call me first, and the bill has never been different that told to me. I love being secure with Gordons.

We live in the Buda area, but for the past few years our vehicles have been serviced, and continue to be serviced, at Gordon Automotive. Yes, there are several auto service and repair shops, including two Honda dealers between Buda and Gordons. However, the outstanding and reliable service and repairs always provided by Gordons technicians is just part of the reason that no other shop services our vehicles. The other reason, is the professional, courteous and friendly customer service always provided by Gordons Service Advisors. Their level of honesty, trust and dependability is unmatched. Gordons always does their best to get your vehicle in and out quickly and their loaner cars make the experience hassle-free. I always look forward to my visit!

I live very close to Gordon Automotive, so naturally, theyre my go-to place for any car issues. However, theyre complete jerks. Every time Ive gone there, theyve either tried to sell me something I didnt need, or they couldnt help me. Then, they would mutter comments under their breath as I was leaving. It was disgraceful, to say the least. I will not be returning.

These guys are quick and fixd, rather replaced, my air conditioned in a day. This was the first time for me.

I took my Mustang in to get the brakes checked and fixed, if needed, around 9:30am and around 1 got a call saying theres all these problems and they have to charge me close to $1000 to fix it all. I told them to just stick to the brakes and Ill worry about these other problems later. Then another call around 2 saying the rear brakes are so bad that they have to fix every part of them or else they wont work still costing me over $1000. Since they had already fixed the front I told them to just leave it. I went to check on my car at 4:30 since I didnt hear from them and they managed to stack on a small amount of money to the rear brakes anyway saying, It should do for now until I pay to have more work done to them. Even though they were sooo bad before I couldnt even use them. Apparently they werent that bad.Then, suddenly, without any warning right before im about to get my car the power steering just exploded, according to them. I heard this story about how he was pulling my car out and turned the wheel then it exploded and now I need some other new part that costs a lot of money. Upon showing me the puddle of steering fluid I realize that the puddle is directly under the front of the car that is still parked in the bay over the lift it is still sitting on. If they had to turn the wheel for the explosion to take place then why is the puddle under the car in a spot where the car hasnt even moved. Not to mention you cant turn it in either direction until you pull forward or back because its still over the lift. On top of the fact I have had Zero steering issues with my car since Ive owned it over the years.This place is a scam and they will do anything to take as much from you as possible. Do not go here!

I called to get a quote for a shock/strut replacement that I had self-diagnosed as the problem with my clunking/rattling rear suspension. They wouldnt confirm over the phone and said they wouldnt charge to take a quick look at the suspension on the lift but didnt want to quote me for something I might not need. A cheap trick to bring me in and get me as a customer...or so I thought. I took the car in a week later, they checked it out, offered me a ride if I needed to get somewhere (I waited instead) and took a look within 10 minutes. I waited for a total of 30 minutes from the time I walked in until they were done. They diagnosed the problem as a loose bolt in the suspension that was making the noise, tightened it down to spec, and didnt charge me a dime. It would have been very easy for them to sell me a strut/shock and take advantage of my misdiagnosis, but they were honest, friendly, quick, and best of all FREE! I will definitely be talking all my cars there from here on out. I cant recommend them highly enough.
