Im traveling through and my car stalled. They replaced a piece and everything was dandy. A couple miles away the check engine light came back on, it was verified by another mechanic it was fine and just a glitch in the system. A good place for sure. The car is working good, even after my 17 hour drive home. This is the place to go to.

These guys are great. Listened to my tale of woe, offered hypothesis and stated clearly what tests they needed to run. Told me they would call in 3-4 hours with an estimate and did so. When they called with the estimate, told me they would have it ready by the end of the day, and they did. They even hung out a bit after closing time to give me the chance to arrange getting myself there to get the car. Cost was as estimated. Everything about the experience was excellent.Of course, I would rather not need repairs again, but when I inevitably do, I know who gets my business.

This is by far the BEST mechanic to take your vehicle to. Not only do they do good work but theyre honest people and they tell you the truth straight up no beating around the bushes... Honesty goes a long way with me and this place went above and beyond to get my car fixed.... Even though it wasnt fixable instead of ripping me off part by part they told me the truth unlike so many other mechanics in Austin that would try to replace my engine part by part just to get money... if you want an honest hard-working mechanic this is the place for you!!!

The auto body shop is one of the best ones I have ever gone to. Very reasonable prices. They are thorough and inspect what they may think causes the problem then call you to discuss the situation further. The gentleman behind the counter is nice, light hearted and good at explaining what causes the problems with your car. As a 27 year old woman who has been taken advantage of on too many occasions by mechanics I HIGHLY recommend the Lopez Auto Repair shop.

Bad service, went to go get all four brake pads replaced and they only replace the front brakes. 2 Days Later my truck would continue to slowly slide forward with my foot push down on the brake pedal. I could have been injured in an accident due to their service. I went back and asked what the problem was and they replied that I had no money to fix the back brakes which was a lie after they had told me that they had repaired all four brakes. I would not recommend this mechanic shop to anybody

I stopped in here for a quick fix on my bumper/splash shield so I could drive my car until I could get to a body shop. (They don’t do body work). The Lopez family was very kind and accommodating (and quick!). I’ll always recommend a locally owned, family shop. They really helped me out!

Ive had 2 vehicles that Mr. Lopez has worked on & recently had my truck inspected. The experience was great, professional & very reasonable. I most certainly would recommend this shop to family & friends.

At most places I go to, diagnostic tests are free. I took my car here to get a shift cable replaced (a part that costs $85) and they charge me $110 just to take a look at it. They also wanted to charge me an additional $200 for labor before I could talk them down. These guys are just your average nickle-and-dimers. Not going back.

Nice and fast..for the money..

My AC was down and I thought I needed to replace the whole compressor. The manager had me leave the truck and called me back 4 hours later. I have good news, your truck is fixed and theres no need to replace the compressor. It just froze and snapped the belt. Amazing job, now the truck blows cool AC for a lot less money than I thought I would have to pay. Their honesty has earned my loyalty. Thank you Lopez Auto!

I could give only give 5 stars, yet they actually deserve 20, these are some serious technicians about their business, my 93f150 was treated with care and was repaired in a Timely Fashion ( things were pointed out that needs to be repaired before the other work began) I was notified by the owner that I needed a part and advised that it would be better to replace the particular Part instead of using The older Part, I let them take her over and they did everything that the Dealership had done in the past when I first acquired her, but better,I am not bilingual, yet there was no breach communication,these guys are by hands down the Best In Austin, I was so amazed at how it ran as well as it now I drove, these guys have my Bussiness for

These guys were great. Very helpful, very fair, and fast. They quoted me a price over the phone on a Thursday evening, ordered the part, and had my car fixed within 2hrs on Friday for the price quoted (which was literally 2.5x less than what the dealership wanted for the same repair). Recently had my wifes diesel SUV in for an change and DEF full up. As always, great service. Unfortunately, once we arrived home we noticed a problem. Oil was leaking onto the driveway. My wife called Lopez to explain the problem. The owner himself drove an hour to our house and personally corrected the issue in our driveway. Turns out the rubber o-ring on the new oil filter was defective and caused the mess. He replaced it with a new filter, topped off the oil, and cleaned the underside of the vehicle. No harm, no foul. We will continue to bring our cars to Lopez Auto Repair.

Great family owned business with reasonable prices

Went to Lopez Auto Repair for the first time to get my brakes replaced, oil changed and a tire rotation. The quote they gave me seemed too good to be true, and upon getting the work done it was actually 15$ less than the quote! Being female Im no stranger to getting screwed over on price gouging and unnecessary maintenance by mechanic shops. I have been to multiple shops around Austin and Lopez gave me the best estimate so I decided to try it out.I was nervous, since last time I was forced to pay over $1800 on what was supposed to be routine maintenance at another shop since I took it in right before I was going on a long trip. So after I got my car back when I felt it pulling to the left I was alarmed. I immediately looked it over and saw some discrepancies that seemed shady. I took it back right away and the main mechanic there came out and worked with me on the issues, he rotated my tires back upon hearing my concerns and offered to help me with figuring out what could have been the issue. I was able to figure out the differences had nothing to do with this maintenance job and in fact was simply due to different family members doing different maintenance on the vehicle.After this experience I definitely plan on making this place my go to for maintenance and repairsPros: Accurate quotes, good work, reasonably priced, very helpful and polite staff and ownersCons: none

Mr. Lopez and his family have an awesome establishment! I first came to Lopez Auto Repair in 2012. Mr. Lopez has always given me a fair evaluation of the problems associated with my vehicle. He never has tried to add on multiple services unless they were requested. I appreciate that hes also taken the time to offer up some vehicle education when addressing the problem. When there was an issue that he wasnt able to fix, he referred me to other vendors that also offered great service. My Pop always cautioned me about mechanics, so Im glad that I found an honest and fair mechanic when I needed it the most. Luckily, I upgraded from my 12 year old car, but was thankful that this shop could still offer state inspections and some bodywork, as well.

Waited a while for the review as my previous mechanics work allways undid itself a few weeks later After seeing the other guy 4 times to fix my ac I looked for a new mechanic and Lopez it was. The work cost half of my previous quote and so far I havent gotten heatstroke in my car. The employees were very professiona/friendly and sympathetic to my recent ac work . I will be continuing to use them as the need arises and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a better mechanic

After recommendation from a coworker, I took my car to Lopez because of a front-end shimmy while braking. I suspected slightly warped brake rotors, but wanted to rule out anything more significant with potential safety concerns. I wandered to a nearby coffee shop expecting a call with bad news followed by dropping several hundred bucks on a 16 year old vehicle. Less than a half-hour later, the mechanic confirmed my hunch of slightly warped brake rotors and provided a reasonable quote to replace them with an option to turn them instead. However, after ruling out safety concerns, the mechanic recommended that I just keep the existing rotors and wait until the problem gets worse before replacing them. How often does one walk away from a mechanic without spending a dime? Lopez definitely has my future business!
