Worst experience ever.. please Save your money and go somewhere else.. I don’t really know where to start, I ordered the premium breakfast and what I got is way less than what I expected or I would say less than what is on the menu. No cheese pastry no jam butter olives and honey. The lady there wasn’t nice. We asked first about the olive and jam and they made us feel like we did something wrong. And then I asked about the pastry and she said I don’t know.. we don’t provide everything on the menu! So I said why you didn’t tell me? She said why you didn’t ask?I also want to mention that we got a dirty breadbasket. Its really not worth it and I really feel sorry for the 64$ I paid
This place is charmingly modern-fashion with a decent variety of coffee drinks for your morning routine or good options on wine and liquor for afterwork relaxing. Was nice talking to the bartender who helped with a whine wine choice. The owner is very friendly and welcoming.Looking forward to meeting you soon again!LOCALS SUPPORTING LOCALS!
They have a small but diverse menu full of quality selections. Great coffee, very good food. Comfortable atmosphere and clean bathrooms. A fantastic spot to visit.
My friend and I went in today for the first time and I just loved it! The owners and staff are personable, friendly, and easy to talk with. With a great atmosphere, good food, good drinks, and good entertainment, what else could you possibly want!? I would recommend this place to all my friends.Definitely deserves more than 5 stars!
Music is loud. I was in the area trying to find a cafe with coffee and sit down to read my book, but the music was deafening. It was hard to focus on reading. Additionally, the coffee drinks were loaded with sugar (so sweet)—total of $10 for diabetics drinks.
The venue is open until midnight on Fri and Sat so consider this local the Kramers of Clarendon but without the bookstore...the place to go read, surf the net, and grab wine when you get sick of Barnes and Nobles....but with a breakfast menu. Friendly service with inconvenient parking. I gotta say that the 15 dollar steak and cheese and 15 dollar chicken sandwich could have used some more, well, steak and chicken, respectively. 8 dollar beers really shoulf be at least a 9% proof. But, I guess rent must be paid but minus star nonetheless. Worth a visit though for sure to meet with your handler or just to grab a coffee.
One of the worst experience I ever had in my life. The ladies at the bar was so rude. When I first entered the place they were not welcoming at all, then I asked the lady about the Turkish premium breakfast if it’s enough for 2 people and she gave me that look and said “ what do you think ?“ and then I ordered the food and went to the table, she brought the food after like 20 minutes and there was some missing plates like the Halloumi cheese. And she didn’t even bring plates ! While we were setting outside the weather became sunny and I asked the lady if she can help me with opening the patio umbrella and she gave me that aggressive look and left. I was so happy in the morning and visiting this restaurant literally ruined my day 👎🏻👎🏻 the Turkish premium cost me $64 and it’s literally a waste of money.
Great Turkish breakfast, the only thing to improve is the tea. It can be hot and darker.
Excellent food. Delicious smoked salmon omelette and solid coffee. Nice spacious shaded outdoor space at convenient location
I had a very pleasant lunch and coffee at East West. It has a number of outside tables and a large inside area. I am more familiar with the one in Rosslyn, but this one has more natural light. Its very centrally located in Clarendon.
To anyone reading this, my name is Joe and Im the Director of Coffee here at East West. Please, come in and enjoy our Italian-Style specialty coffee -- ground fresh to order; our Turkish inspired breakfast and dinner menu, also made fresh to order; and most importantly, our beautiful space and staff. Im hard to miss, so come say hello!Thank you,- Joe Cardigan, Coffee Director.
The baked goods were delicious and there was a good amount of outdoor seating. Inside was a little stuffy and there was not even a little music playing, which would have made it a little more invited. Regardless, definitely a place to go and eat and do some.work!
I ordered from East West Coffee Wine via Grubhub. I ordered a Chicken & Cheese Sandwich. The price seemed a tad high for a sandwich but I ordered it anyway. I did have a Promo code so I did get a discount. The restaurant in question was at least 17 minutes ago by car and, funny enough, not the nearest one to me. It is a mystery on how Grubhub decides these things. Dart board? Anyway, the food was delivered within a reasonable amount of time. Driver was nice and the food was delivered in a neat little box in a large paper bag.And I didnt know fries came with it. So maybe it wasnt as pricey as I thought it was? First, the sandwich, while small looking, was still warm from being toasted and all the ingredients were fresh. It was a really VERY good sandwich. And the fries were good too. With just enough salt for my taste but not overwhelming. I have to give the restaurant a four out of five.
Perfect spot for breakfast, brunch or a quick bite. Food is so good and fresh and excellent service
06/26Ive been coming to this place for about a year and was always happy with everything. Loved the food and really enjoyed trying out the drinks. But today Im changing my review to 3 stars because during my lunch they gave me a cocktail with a bug and petite lady with curly hair said its not my problem! and that she doesnt want to change it. I work at the restaurant and was shocked by that treatment. She was so mad and miserable I dont want her ever to reach out to me. On top of that she brought me back the drink that had bug in it, apparently, wanting me keep on drinking that (I couldnt believe that!), aggressively letting me know that shell charge me if Ill ask for a replacement. Just wow, hope she finds peace and happiness and stops spreading that anger to random people.
Love this place! Plenty of open space to sit and chat without feeling crowded, with different types of seating to choose from. Fairly basic coffee and pastry menu but what they have is just perfect. $5 mimosas during brunch. They also have kombucha on tap now! Honestly this maybe the only coffeeshop in the area that feels NewYork-like in vibe. Very cool.
Coffee is good, but they tried to get a $3 tip for a $2.75 coffee. The door is super heavy and hard to open. I just watched an older gentleman attempt to open it, couldnt, then walked away. I guess theyre okay with losing customers.🤷♀️
From arlington the best coffee I have had very good attention I had a good time
I have been to several cafes in the area, but this is the first time I have had any issues with one. The baristas not only did not know their specials listed, but they had to be told what the order was. My roommate ordered a plain iced coffee and it was coyingly sweet. Finally, the worst is that we were moved from our table by the owner, himself, to have an informal consultation with a friends family, where they were served like kings and queens. Do not go to this cafe if you are looking for quality customer service and good vibes.
What a fresh loaf of crispy bread it was! Freaking good breakfast and super delicious cake!
Delicious smoked salmon omelette and crafted coffee beverages. Ambiance is wonderful.
I like working here because there are other people who are miserably in front of a computer too. Pro Tip: happy hour 4-7 has $10 appetizer food, $20 meal of pasta and wine, and drink specials. Downside is that you pretty much have to pay for street parking.
Nice place. Good coffee
We went to this coffee shop last weekend and it was such an awful experience! The two women at the bar were extremely rude, didn’t even say hello to us. I ordered the waffles for my kids and after waiting more then 20 min ( it was only us and one other couple in the whole place) I see they bring their food first. I asked them about by kids order and one of the women just said “They’re coming”. Another 10 mins pass and my husband goes to cancel the order at which point she says - They are putting them on a plate now. After waiting another 5-10 mins we just left. It was not even worth it to talk to these people again. Not only did they lie to us (they clearly forgot our order) but my kids left hungry and sad.
Loved the ambiance and the Turkish breakfast! Not a fan of customer service, just one person at 8am and through out our stay she was curt, not quite a coffee shop vibe
The coffee, food and service is always on point here. A favorite place of mine.
Great place, great coffe, perfect Turkish breakfast dishes in a European coffe shop atmosphere.
Honey Cinnamon latte is 👌🏼
Food quality is decent, the employee attitude is horrible. This is not the first time seeing it. My recommendation for the manager is to train the employees how to smile:)
Surprisingly good happy hour special with a nice selection of wines and foods to choose from. Nice place to work over coffee by day and to transition into the evening with a glass of wine.
I really enjoy the coffee but opening a coffee shop at 8 am seems really silly to me. It’s a coffee shop. True coffee drinkers are on their second cup by then. I would love if they went back to opening at 7am. I would go more often if they did.
Food very good, and place were the food has different options and it’s good to tell us what type of food your giving us.
Great Turkish breakfast!
I was well pleased with the menu. All the food is tasty.
Great coffee and friendly staff! Highly recommend! (*Might also be worth mentioning, for folks wondering: the staff wear masks and there are signs everywhere reminding customers to wear them too, but nobody sitting inside at the tables was wearing one earlier this week. (No one was eating, just camped out with their laptops.) Perhaps that was a one time thing. Hopefully folks have gotten better!
Spacious, good food, and hands down the best place in Clarendon for getting some work done. We moved over from Three Whistles, as they had very, very limited seating.
Cool vibe. Great outdoor seating.
Nice spot. Coffee spot thats open late!So far the only down side is the music. Basically ghetto hip hop. Would prevent me from taking a date here.
Nice spot! Decor is really nice and the drinks were really good and werent too expensive.
Food is great, drinks are great (little pricey), ambiance is great, great crowd. Outdoor seating is beautiful, would love to see outdoor plugs for summer time.
Nice place, but we found the coffees to be on the weaker side. While freshly made they seem water forward. This included the iced coffee and a latte.
It is a very fine place and it is not expensive, perfect for hang for just a coffee or more. It is not a busy place like other coffee shops. It is calm, nice music, good furniture ( chair and tables are not falling a part). The low volume music make people talk in a lower volume, which easily allow you to work or do any kind of activity that requires you to think. In addition to that the food is very good and you can have good wine to drink. The staff is very friendly.
Well designed place for people who likes coffee .tea .wine or pastries.
Very european. Wine and energy are great
Usually get the chicken or steak philly for lunch and both are pretty good. Fries are also key. Little pricey for the food, but one of the better quick lunch spots in Clarendon.
Delicious hot chocolate and amazing crossiant sandwich. Very tasty on both the beverage and food areas.
LOVE this place!! Wish we had one in the Austin, TX area (from where I’m visiting)! Nice, zen-kinda place where I find it very conducive for working. Awesome food, good array of beverage choices. Courteous staff. Clean.
Nice looking space! Too bad service behind counter can be questionable. Some slightly rude & short when asking basic questions about price. $5 for a doughnut then automatically add $2 tip. Esp when see flies/gnat things circling around & landing on baked goods. Should enclose area around baked goods. Know its COVID & hard but need to better customer service esp w/ $7 insect doughnuts or that will be another For Lease space soon.
Been here a few times, and now becoming my favorite coffee shop in the clarendon area. Nice indoor/outdoor space!
Good wine and great beer section.
I have been Couple times and tried Sandwiches, very fresh ingredients uniqe flavors Seems they have great Chef in the kitchen. Very friendly staff, Beautiful large space and neat .It was very busy each time I went there but still felt very comfortable will be back always when ever I am in Arlington area. Coffee was Delicious I definitely Recommend .
This might be my new favorite coffee spot in Clarendon, and that neglects to mention everything else. For such a new place, that chicken sandwich I had there was perfect. Everything seemed well priced and I really enjoyed how many different options people have for seating. Ill come back soon to enjoy to I imagine youll be swamped with customers soon enough!
It is high quality products, coffee, matcha, hibiscus tea plus tasty bakery .I have tried them all in the area this is my favorite with an outside area .
Huge fan of East West Coffee! Ive been looking for the perfect coffee shop in Clarendon and Im confident Ive found it. Such a chill atmosphere. The baristas are so pleasant, which is always refreshing in this busy city. The coffee is so tasty (smooth and not burnt). I have really enjoyed both breakfast meetings and a nice glass of wine after work in this space. I highly recommend!
Coffee is great (we went in for a quick morning stop yesterday and got an oat milk latte with sugar free vanilla (delicious) and later in the afternoon to hang out and got a French press (also really good)). The space is gorgeous and pretty large (it was empty Sunday morning and very relaxing; totally packed Sunday evening, but still a nice space to do some work). The food looks awesome, but I didnt try it, so cant speak to that. Overall, really glad we gave it a try and will definitely be regular visitors.
The girls who attend are very rude they make you throw the order to one
Highly recommend the East West breakfast. Delicious!
Boy that’s really good coffee.
Only in the area for the weekend, but this place has some of the best coffee Ive had in awhile I really recommend their honey cinnamon latte.
Very neat, chic and modern Place ! professional employees and managers, quality of food and drinks are so good . Very peaceful environment indoor and outdoor . It’s not typical Coffee shop you can Experience different taste and quality in East West Coffee . ☕️ 🍷 🍳 🥖 🥪 🍔 ✅✅✅✅✅
This place is AMAZING. Their whole menu is fantastic. Friendly staff, smiling baristas and friendly owner. Good ambiance to get some work done, or to meet up with a friend or casual interview. This place is a must stop for people in the Courthouse/ Clarendon metro!
I’m a college student and I have always been looking for a spot like this. Staff is super friendly. I love their dark mocha, and I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so I can enjoy their patio...
It just feels nice to be there.
Ive had a chance to visit many of the R-B Corridor coffee shops and East West is by far the best. The coffee is the best (in taste and in presentation), the bakery products are always tasty, and the staff are amazingly welcoming! Also, the Clarendon and Rosslyn shops are spacious in case you want to make yourself comfortable for a bit, while also being accessible to the metro in case you need to order a coffee through their app and run!
Very friendly owner and staff 👏, delicious options (congrats chef), perfect location. I’ve ordered steak and cheese and it was great, service was fast. Meticulously clean (even the restrooms:)I’ll definitely come again to taste the breakfast options.
I just loved it! The staff are friendly, and easy to talk with. With a great atmosphere, good food, good drinks. Recommended!
This place is by far the best spot in Arlington for wine, coffee, brunch and to hangout. You should try their famous cinnamon & honey latte! They have various food option for coffee and a wine bar. You will not be disappointed with this place!
This is my favorite coffee place in the area, hands down! My husband and I have tried them all and are so happy they opened near us in Clarendon. The coffee is always delicious, the staff is the best, and this place is so comfortable and spacious to sit at. The owner really worked hard to give this neighborhood everything it needed in a coffee shop: quality drink/food, clean space, kind staff, plenty of great seating, and all the amenities you need- you wont be disappointed! (Also their Rosslyn location is amazing, so check them both out)
Great location yet comes with great variety of hot and cold drinks. And the food menu, esp breakfast is my fav and highly highly recommended!!! This location is my favorite spot, to get together with friends and co-workers; work, talk, enjoy the food and coffee!
Few places in Arlington that is open until mid night on Friday & Saturday. This is my 4th visit to this place, and I love the coffee & wine options but I didn’t know how AMAZING BURGER their burger was until today. It seems like everything is hand crafted here.
It’s super challenging to find places that take things seriously during Covid-19. This place DOES !100% recommended to anyone who is bored at home by working remote but don’t know where to go !Their wifi speed is amazing ! I’ve been having 4 meetings here since morning and had zero issues with the internet which is a HUGE plus for me if you also work remotely like me !MUST try a latte and steak&cheese sandwich, just delicious!
It was a wonderful experience, both from customer service and quality of food and beverages point of view. Strongly recommend to visit! Great place for evening tea/coffee
Unexpectedly cute place in Arlington. Coffee is great, decor is awesome and artisan beverages. Definitely recommend.
This cafe is large with ample seating. They offer a wide variety of food and drinks: beer, wine, kombucha, coffee, tea and more. My husband and I got mochas. Both the iced and hot mocha were amazing, no liquid flavoring. They use real chocolate. Thank you!
Great food, very clean space and wonderful service.
Best coffee shop in the city of Arlington in my opinion. Love coming here in the morning for breakfast. The smell of coffee hits you once you enter their doors. All the staff was super friendly and helpful when I came in for the first time. They really know how to create that perfect coffee shop culture ! I reccomend their nitro latte and their english muffin breakfast sandwich !
One of the DMV area’s best coffee shop and regular destination for those who appreciate fine dining, remarkable ambiance, and outstanding service.
I love everything about this place. Coffee is of finest quality, and they use premium coffee beans and top of the line espresso machine (La Marzocco) for their espresso drinks. They have a special Cinnamon honey Latte which is my go-to drink when I want to indulge a bit. The staff is so friendly, and the owner is so nice and hospitable. The ambiance and location are great, music is nice and is played at the right volume, there are abundant power outlets for everyone (unlike Northside social),and the hours are great and its one of the few coffee shops in the area that is open late (10pm on weekdays, midnight on weekends).
Nice
Great coffee. Even better food.
Ugh can’t say enough, coffee is delicious and fairly priced. The chai is uhmaaazing & amazing table side service. The space is pretty nice, tons of seating good for studying and catching up with friends. Fave new find :)
Nice place inside, good coffee and bakery items including gluten free. Service inattentive and v slow
It was ok. Not a very big selection.
I had the East West Burger, which was amazing. Believe it or not, much better then those so called burger places. If you are hungry, you gotta try the BURGER..
Love this place so much. Staff is so friendly and i really like their patio.
Thier breakfast is tip top. Their sandwiches are good, and the atmosphere is lovely, but you gotta get their east-west breakfast. Service is very friendly as well. Accommodating and quick.
