Had JC Optical make a pair of glasses for me. I experienced double vision with them. Heather, who was the manager at that time, promised to homer their warranty. Then came the pandemic, and Penny’s closed their store. When they finally reopened, they had a new manager who then refused to honor the warranty. They wanted me to pay them more money, and broke their written policies, as well as the verbal promess that their manager made to me. Don’t trust them!
Staff has always been friendly and helpful. I’ve been there a handful of times, mostly warranty related(son keeps breaking his glasses) and always been treated properly. The poor ratings does not reflect this business.
Dr. John Molinario is the worst. He spent my appointments complaining about one thing or another (it has happened at multiple appointments), then his staff did not collect the correct payment. He then called from his personal number (not the optical departments) asking for the payment. We called the optical department to ask how they wanted the check made out and how to address it, but that didnt matter. A month later I got a call (once again from his personal number) telling me they had not received the payment and they were going to send it to collections. I called, and miraculously it was in the mail box at the back of the store. Either they are completely uncoordinated and incapable of handling simple payments or something else is going on... Either way, Im not going to this optical department again.
They have always been helpful here. Me,my wife and oldest kid have gotten glasses here for over 3 years. 6 pairs of glasses and we will continue to go there.
Horrible Customer Service, they are hard to get ahold of via phone and it seems like their customers are not priority to them. I recommend definitely taking your money elsewhere!!!
Glasses are generally expensive so yeah thats the case. Ive used discount places in the past and those frames are junk. But I like the styles here . Good service.
I will NOT use JC Penney Optical again. I am careful with the care of my glasses and their cleaning (no tissues or synthetic materials that might be too rough; use cotton cloths etc.) but after just a few months my lens were badly scratched-- and I paid for the scratch resistant coating. And after nine months, they were three times more scratched than other lens I have had in the past after two years of daily use. They looked like they had been drug through a desert, and I was taking them OFF to see better at times. Had to then pay for a warrantee (which expires in three months), and an addition percentage of the lens cost, to have them replaced. Not going back again. Ever.
