Their donuts actually taste freaking amazing and the service is as great. They have a great selection and the service staff are super friendly.
Amazing breakfast. Such a cute little shop run by a very friendly older couple and the prices are amazing. Ended up coming here because my usual coffee shop was closed due to weather and I’m so glad I stumbled upon it. The lowest ratings are due to it not having a huge selection of doughnuts despite its name, but if you read the comments and know what to expect, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend. Will likely be my new go to for breakfast.
Fantastic place where the true locals go for a good bite
Great coffee, excellent customer service- very friendly!
Wonderful service of a committed family business. Perfect for a quick lunch or coffee and a donut.
They need zero stars. They dont even sell donuts. Well..they have like a half box of crispy cremes. I want real donuts! Where they back there making them at the spot. Dont go here.
What a lovely spot for a quick bite, treats, coffee and donuts. Also the owners are rock Stars and have seen everything in DC. They are just so kind but their food is also just right. So glad a colleague have told me about this cool spot for snacks, beverages and quick bits for breakfast and for lunch. Mom and pops shop rule as in the old charm.
Friendly, fast, cheap, and good variety of hot, made-to order diner-style sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. The kind of basic, not hyper-expensive family-run corner store/deli that seems almost impossible to find in DC! Not gourmet in any way, but exactly what it promises and should be!
Cozy little place, homemade breakfast and other sandwiches at reasonable prices. Owners are very friendly. Reminds me of a similar corner store I liked that used to be near my office. This one is right next to the Hilton.
Visiting from NY.... saw positive reviews of this place, across from where i was staying, at the Washington Hilton. Well prepared breakfast sandwich -- ham, egg, cheese, on wheat bread. Cant ask for more... no frills, but good stuff. Hit the spot. Folks, keep in mind for a perfect hangover cure, too.
I see where people post that this place is “quaint” I think “funky” is a better term to use. The owners / workers clearly enjoy what they do because they are quite playful (in a good way) when communicating with their customers. I didn’t order any prepared food, so look elsewhere for those reviews, but their prices for convenience store items are fantastic for the area. I do agree that the name of the place is kind of a misnomer. The doughnuts don’t look all that great and their selection is limited.
Didn’t actually taste their food but to call this a doughnut shop is an affront to doughnuts. It’s like a gas station grocer that carries “donuts” or “bagels” both which look like they taste like bread. My apologies to the owners but I was annoyed when I walked about 2 miles one day to find that... thankfully someone has since posted picks.
Should not be called a doughnut shop. The people were friendly but the donuts were stale day-olds.
A quaint little sandwich shop run by two friendly asian ladies. Good food, reasonable price. Definitely feels like getting a lunch from your mom. If you talk to them, they will remember you.
This has been my breakfast place every morning for quite some time now. A great place for a cup of hot coffee and some bagels or doughnuts before heading to work. And theyre not that expensive.
I make an annual trip each year to DC and visit every time I am there. Good food, great service, and an outstanding price.
This is my ultimate go-to place if I need donuts or anything to feed my sweet tooth. They have avery wide variety to choose from, so there’s never a shortage of variants. And their staff are always well-informed and friendly.
A nice little sandwich and breakfast shop. The owners are nice and it has a calmer, slower pace within the city
This little place has become my breakfast spot. Big selection of quality sandwiches at a decent price for DC. Theyll remember your usual if youre nice and talk to them
Great people. Great grab and go place. Could be cleaner. Breakfast is perfect for me!
The true American dream story. Family making a small space into a great place to buy a quick freshly made reasonably priced sandwich. Knows all the locals but also remembers there traveling guests. If you are staying at the washington hilton and dont want to spend a fortune on breakfast lunch or lite dinner this place is for you. Closes 5:30 PM
Should be called Universal Sandwishes Donuts are delicious but clearly from anoyher place. But, the freah made breakfast sandwich was EVERYTHING!! Glad it was across from our hotel.
Owners are very friendly and their sandwiches are great. I still have yet to get a doughnut, though...
Wish we had found this earlier in our visit instead of on the last day!! Great subs!!! Great prices!!
Located in the shadow of the Washington DC Hilton, this place has great food at great prices.
Not a donut shop. Sold Krispy Creme from down the street on a mark up.
Did not wear gloves while preparing food. When I asked why they werent wearing gloves they said they washed their hands. I walked out.
Dont go here for their doughnuts as theyre literally just Krispy Kreme doughnuts still in their original packaging. However, upon arriving and finding myself quite disappointed that I had walked past a Krispy Kreme to get here, I ordered a fresh-made breakfast sandwich that turned out to be great. Go here, just not for the doughnuts
Good breakfast sandwiches, a little overpriced, and definitely not a doughnut shop! They just had Krispy Kremes last time I was there..... and theres an actual Krispy Kreme down the street.
Great shop, nice owners
The employees were kind, however I asked and paid to have bacon added to my bagel but when I got back home to eat it there wasnt any.
Great breakfast sandwich
Very tasty!
Donuts are very tasty
