Let me start by stating how blessed I feel to have found Cynthia again, after over more than 5yrs braid free. After reading several reviews, I decided to stop by the shop since it was only a couple of miles from my house. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and asked how I could be helped. I so appreciate being acknowleged when I enter a business for service. Cynthia was kind and gave me an appointment for the next day. Unfortunately, the day of my appointment, Cynthia was a little under the weather, but insisted on keeping her word and hooked me right up! Talk about outstanding customer service!! I found this salon on Google and scheduled based on the reviews and I’m glad I did! I came in with a specific style in mind and Mimi braided my hair. She did a great job and was more than accommodating. Friendly and professional staff with a clean salon. Great experience and will definitely be coming back!Was even more happy to learn I share the same name with Cynthia and the same birthday as my stylist Mimi💜

I really enjoy coming here to get my hair braided. The hair stylists are very accommodating to any style that you like and will work with you to make you feel beautiful. My hair has grown tremendously since recieveing services at this salon.

Its is my first time in life to get my hair braided. Miss Cynthia was so sweet and very patient with me. I was so scared that it going to hurt but I sleep well and I have a lot of compliments. I didnt know anything about braid, she recommended me to get Pony braid and I love it. I dont have any pain at all from the braid. I was a great experience and I will return for more braid. Love this salon! All of the girls are so nice. Cynthia did an amazing job on my hair, and I have heard great things about all of the other styles as well. The owner Cynthia was very rude and unprofessional. They speak French not realizing I speak french and could understand how badly they spoke about their customers. The quality of my twists are bad. They are unravelling and coming out within 2 weeks. Ill need to go someplace else and get my hair redone. Stay away from this establishment. They dont appreciate their clients.

I made an appointment for today. I wasnt sure what style I wanted. The stylist was very nice, and she decided what style would be best suited for my hair. I told the stylist that I was very tender headed and didnt want the braids to be too tight. It feels like she braided my brain, my head hurts so bad, Im thinking about taking them all out. After the braiding was completed, she started clipping off the excess hair. I left out of the salon covered from head-to-toe with hair clippings. Didnt clean me off at all. I had to ask for the mirror to see the style. Sadly, I wont be going back to this shop.

I started coming here summer of 2020 and have not thought twice about visiting another braid salon since. My braids are always neat and I get exactly what I ask for each time😊😊. Service is prompt and most of all pleasant. I give them 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Im so lucky to find this place. I love LOVE this place. I have gotten my hair done at a couple places around waldorf and #1 hair Braiding is the best. I wont get my hair braided by anybody else now. Its my third time and my hair is always neat and last a long time. Anybody that says theyre not satisfied hummm!!!. I was not impress with the service. I asked for a specific person to do my hair when I made my appointment. They gave me someone else that did not know how to do the style I wanted. The style she did do Kinky Twist she braided my root and then start twisting the hair. They over charged me for this style I didnt want. I am so upset with the service I received. I strongly recommend you do your research before you go to this place and spend your hard earned money.

I wanted box braids and I paid $250 for strand braids. Their braiding style is the kind that leaves black women with no edges. There is no rhyme or reason to the parting of my braids. It is random and inconsistent. I redid my hairline myself because my edges were nonexistent. I had three braids literally one on top of the other. My baby hairs are fine and short of course, instead of slicking them down they were pulled into braids that ran into one another. The braider also sat the whole time which Im used to but refused to get up when doing the perimeter of my hairline and instead had me strain my neck to position my head where she needed it as if I wasn’t in enough pain from the tension ? They get two stars for speed of service. The quality is trash you couldn’t pay me to return.

I dont like doing business where they speak in their language among themselves and laugh! Who is the joke on. I also dont like spending my money where they charge me to spend (the fee to pay with a card). This was my first visit. The card reader wasnt working so I had to leave and come back - it was very inconvenient. I also told them I my head was tender along the incision across my hairline after brain surgeries. The top of my head was pulled so tight that my scalp has sores now. I will never do business with this place again. To add, I recorded the women talking in order for a friend from Africa to tell me what the conversation was about....lets just say the joke is on black American Women who think that smile is just a friendly gesture.Yes I was there and someone called my cell phone thinking I was not coming back to pay. And yes, the ladies working there were talking about a young lady who came with her kids. Its all good, I wont ever cone back.

Very bad customer service. !!!!!!!!!! My first time at the salon I called ahead of time to ask the price for the style I wanted to get done and was given a price I also stated that I had a flyer for a coupon of $30.00 off. I arrived to the shop and was not greeted friendly also I witness the aggressive treatment another client received and she was a teenager her stylist was very unprofessional and extremely rude and the other stylists in the salon started to carry on aggressively about her. I confirmed my price before my hair was started on in the chair along with my coupon but once my stylist was finished she said my price will be $200.00 dollars I then asked how after on the phone I was told $160 and they will honor my coupon of the $30.00 which will bring my final price to $130. and it was confirmed again before my hair got started she then began to explain that because it took time to do my hair because some parts were shorter than some and also that they meant to say it will be $160.00 and up not just $160.00. But they never said $160 and up they confirmed on the phone $160 and then in person $160 along with honoring my coupon. For the most part my stylist was not rude towards me but however they all chastised and conversed in their language about the clients and their quality of hair. I would not go back to that salon or braid shop or recommend anyone to .!!!! they say one price but change it once your finished and then carry on the most disgusting way and when you question why the change in price. It becomes a big uproar. That’s not professionalism that is not customer service and that is not how you should run a business. While doing my hair if the comb fell from mine or another clients hair they pick the dirty comb up and continue to use it if they stop to eat then they resume with their greasy hands in your hair. You give a price you should stick to it.!!! Not switch it last minute and if the clients hair is short or whatever situation you see once the person arrives that’s when you say well ma’am now that your here and I see your hair this is what I would suggest and it will be this much more not the other way around!!!!!

Great job. Two ladies worked on my hair, so it was fairly quick. Braids started coming out way too quick.

I recommend this shop to everyone because this shop is the only one in Waldorf that really satisfied me. Before going to this shop I read the bad reviews about them but I wanted to go have my own experience and I do not regret it. It has been a year since I been going there, the are very clean. You can not compare a shop that is 9 years old and a shop that just opened a few months, why I said this, my friend tells me about this new shop in Waldorf to go try but I regret it. I went first in the morning make appointment for the evening and let them no what I want, she told me to come at 6pm. I was on time but my braider came at 8pm 2hours waiting, now she ask me to change my style because she cant do it and the owner also said she dont want to do it. Im annoyed out thinking about what to do because I am traveling the next day . Now I have to go back to #1. Decided to call Cynthia if the can take me because is late 8:30pm . She was nice and the hook me up, thank you. I recommend this salon to everyone and I am sure you will not be disappointed. I love this shop, and people who work there are very friendly and very fast. This shop is the only one I loved in Waldorf.

Just had the crochet sengalese twist done!! The owner did my hair. I didnt know when its crocheted in, you purchase the hair, but........ now I know. She did an EXCELLENT JOB!!! I told her I was tender-headed, and she did not pull, tug, or hurt my head!!This is my 3rd time going to this establishment. First 2x, I got cornrows since cutting my hair with the back shaved down. That was why I wanted the crochet style, so theres no stress on my hair and it can grow.Again- SHE DID AN EXCELLENT JOB AND I DEFINITELY WILL GO BACK THERE!!!!!!!!!

But today I was surprised everything came back to normal, the owner was there, t hff e take care of me and I get 40% off. I was very happy that I give them another chance today. I hate to even give them one star. I asked for a hair style they show on their website and I got just the opposite. I asked the braider several times could she do that style. I was making sure that she could since it was displayed on their site. Obviously someone who works in the shop should be able to do that style. She said YES, but she should have said NO. When I left my hair looked nothing like the photo on their website. It wasnt even the same type of braids. I wanted flat twist and she gave in goddess braids . I WILL NEVER GO BACK

The boss of that shop is very playful and doesnt get things done fast enough.. very bad customer service.. after 2-3 weeks of having my hair braided I realized the lady who did my hair put two different colors of hair in it. Would not recommend this salon at all. Nowhere near professional

My first experience was great loved my hair...i called and schedule a 2nd appointment the person I scheduled with wasn’t there so two ladies braided my hair...i was unsure how I’d like it but the braids were fine...my 3rd experience...i drove from VA (Prince William County area) for a 6am appointment get there & I’m told come back in 2 hours because the person I requested was double booked...the braids were fine but the scheduling issues are problematic for me!! NEVER going back!!! The schedule is poorly managed!! So Annoying!!

I got the box braids and turned out really good! Only took 2 1/2 hours! The reason why I gave them a three, is because when I got there, they told me the only color they had was 4. I needed either 1 or 1b. Then I offered to go to the store and purchase it, they agreed but would only provide me with a $20 discount. I went ahead to the store and saw that the hair is $2.00 a pack and I needed 12 packs of hair. I then called the owner, and she told me she would be there and I dont have to buy the hair. I waited for 45 min . At the end of the day, I only received a $20 discount which is already offered if you spend over $100. I guess I was expecting something more for all the inconvenience .

She stopped so many times she took more breaks than she spent doing my hair. she also ate pizza while doing my hair without even wiping them en off. after i asked her to she continued not wiping them and lied sayin she did when i can see her in the mirror! I wouldnt recommend u go.

Terrible customer service and they do not braid well . I went to get 2 braids and was charged $60. The woman doing my hair parted my hair crooked and when I asked her to fix it she got upset and told me I had to wait for her sister to come and do my hair. When her sister came it was obvious she complained about me to her in another language. Then when it was time for her sister to do my hair she could not braid the braids how I asked, she immediately became upset and yelled, are you crazy, i have to go to work, why dont you like your hair? I assumed it was because there were no other customers in the salon at that time that they acted in that way. Any how I paid and said I would not be returning and she said, youll be back. SMH JUST RIDICULOUS

My daughter asked for box braids so they did them neat around the edges but when they got to the middle the braids was so big she couldnt even wear her hair down they had to stay pinned up.Very unprofessional never again will we enter that place

This is my second visit at number 1 hair braiding, but yesterdays visit was absolutely horrible. I made an appointment for two feed in cornrows with wet n wavy track hair wrapped or sewed around the back of the cornrows to make it look like the feed ins had hair hanging out the end. I talked to the owner on Tuesday and she said that they could do it, she just asked me to bring my hair, when I arrived the rude lady asked me what I needed, I showed her the pic and the first thing she asked is... How much did the owner say it was gonna be? When I told her she git a irritated look on her face and rudely said we cant do that... I was mad because why would the owner give me an appointment knowing that her staff wasnt capable of doing the style. After waiting for 15 minutes the lady said very rudely.. go to other shop they can do. Then she began to talk in french... I was mad... what an inconvenience, bad customer service. I went to the other shop and the customer service was no better. I wont spend another dime at this place, I will take my money where I am appreciated and the people arent rude. I wish I couldve gave zero stars!

I walked in the door at 11 and was out by 2:30, a head full of beautiful micro braids, the ladys were very respectful, I would definitely recommend this place.

Unprofessional braiders and very poor customer service.Disrespectful. The braiders used different languages to talk about the customers in the salon. They said the customers are dirty right in front of them but the customers had no idea because they were not speaking English. Sadly, this is just one example of what the braiders were saying.Unclean. While braiding whenever the braiders dropped hair combs and hair clips on the floor they simply picked it up and continued to use them on the client’s hair instead of using clean combs and clips.The bathroom was not clean.I don’t know where to advise women to go to have their hair braided professionally while being respected as customers but this is not the place.

Wasn’t really all that customer service was poor I mean they weren’t rude but they weren’t the friendliest either I wanted my braids way thicker than what she ended up doing it but whatever I just won’t come back, you live and you learn

Never been to this salon, but it was close to my house so I figured I would give it a try. Made a 9 o clock appt. walked in at 9 and there were 5 people getting their hair done, with 3 people waiting. I asked how long before she got to me, she told me to sit down. After about 30 minutes I became irritated and decided to just leave.

Today is April 5, 2016. I went to this shop (not a salon). Very unprofessional. They dont introduce themselves and they really dont braid well quite honestly! I asked for a short bob, which had a picture on the wall. What I got was atrocious! The braids are too thick, not even the same thickness. I was charged extra for a shampoo. Normally most salons know a shampoo comes with a service. Never again in my life. If you want cornrows this may be your place. Very unprofessional and not clean. I wouldnt give this place 1 star.One star was given but it is not my recommendation.

Please please dont go here for service, I went to get feed in braids show the girl a picture, my hair looks nothing like the picture, plus I left out with my braids all different lengths, my hair is very long the stylist got mad because I was worried that she was cutting my hair because she was cutting as she was braiding I Never Seen That Done Before, called the manager and told her what happen, she was very apologetic and told me to come back the next morning at 8am got there no manager and another stylist acknowledged my braids were different length and size but all she could do was braid it down to the end and drip in in hot water because somebody else had already braid it differs lengths PLEASE DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE I GIVE THEM A NEGATIVE 👎
