I came in after buying a used car because the car suddenly died after seemingly being fine. Turns out the alternator that was replaced by the previous owner was not plugged in. They fixed that for free and did the general inspection I asked for, free of charge as well! The car had a broken motor mount and a valve cover seal and they told me, asked me if I wanted the work done, and got it done in a few hours. Excited to have my new used car up and ready to go! These guys were great - Mike in front. I came in with an issue where car would jump….they checked it out - no cost for the diagnostic. Took it for a test drive…hooked up their equipment and explained to me in enough detail to understand the two issues….I am new to the area. In essence this was a test….and I would come back…..all good.

Brought my vehicle in looking to replace a weathered belt before a long trip. They found some other belts similarly worn that I hadn’t checked. Also found that my previous oil change from 2 days prior (from another shop) wasn’t done right (filter wasn’t on tight) and it caused an oil leak. Saved us quite the headache and got it done FAST! Called these guys when my transmission decided to quit on me. They were able to get me in quickly and gave me a estimate that was several thousand less than what else I’ve been hearing . As everyone knows it is easy to find a auto repair shop to work on your car. However finding one that will not recommend repairs not needed or cheat you is almost impossible.Well this is one of the few honest places still left.I had my transmission and an engine oil leak worked on there recently. I found them to be honest and very fairly priced.I took my car to a auto repair shop before them and that shop wanted 3 times as much and wanted to repair items that were not broken.I found the front office person (Mike) to be straight forward and no nonsense.Mike made sure this process was as painless as possible. I highly recommend this place for not only transmissions, but other auto repairs.I really cant say enough good things about them.

These guys treated me really great. Did an excellent repair job on my transmission, gave me the same warranty as the other guys and charged me $1,500 less. They even kept it in their garage for me when I was unexpectedly sent to the hospital. Will definitely be giving these guys all my business from now on.

Overcharged me! Friendly long enough to get your vehicle. The charges were not clear until the end. I had to get the same work redone by another shop. At least the other shop was half the price. It was cheaper to go to the dealership. I’ve never experienced such intimidation from a shop. As soon as they saw my review Mike texted me and called me to take it down. Not friendly or professional.

This shop is the best. The owner and manager I think Brian and Mike treated me as if I was their only customer, took time to walk me though what was going on with my car and was able to answer all my questions. The team in the back did the job faster than I thought possible and fixed my cvt transmission, you know the one the dealer tells you that you dont have to service it. Well I guess sometimes dealers are wrong. My car is driving 100 times better. Now i guess we have a new go to shop, my hubby is taking his Jaguar there after 2 years of trying to put a new engine in it. I know its not a transmission but i know these guys can handle it thanks Brian, Mike, Andre, and Mario and those i have left out.

Avoid This place at all costs please, I took my Truck in For a heater core replacement and a cooling system, flush and coolant replacement. After refusing the complete tune up that they recommended we settled for a price if 907$ dollars for both jobs to be completed. I wasnt about to pay for a thousand dollar tune up that I know I didnt need because it had just gotten that exact service 10k miles ago . After the Job was completed. I received my truck back with a air bag sensor warning ⚠️ that was previously not there. They forgot to plug a censor back in they said so I had to return it to be corrected, a few days pass and I show up to pick up my rig with the news that they Cannot fix the sensor, and they cannot order said part or replace it.... Super fishy being in the fix cars business..... I then Go to check the coolant reservoir and its Painfuly obvious they Did not even DO a flush whatsoever. I had it taken to another mechanic who CONFIRMED my suspicion. THESE GUYS TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME AND THEY WILL DO TBE SAME TO YOU....THEY REFUSED TO FIX AIRBAG CENSOR THEY BROKETHEY CHARGED ME FOR A FLUSH THAT THEY DID NOT DO.I HAVE PICTURES TO BACK UP MY CLAIM.DRIVERS BEWARE

Mike is a great asset to AAMCO. Very professional. He got us in immediately & had a lot of knowledge. I told Mike that we had 2 major problems with my sons Hyundai Sonata. We knew what 1 problem was but wasnt sure what the 2nd loud noise was. They replaced his steering coupler at a reasonable price & told me there was no 2nd problem. He was totally honest, which is extremely rare. He was right, car runs great now. They reattached his front bumper & mud guard also, which we really appreciate. We were so impressed that we called Mike back 1st thing the next morning and he got us in immediately for an oil change on a Saturday. We were in and out quickly. We now have an electrical issue with the back break lights & we trust no one else but Mike & AAMCO to find and fix the problem. People are always asking about a good and honest mechanic. Mike & AAMCO are who we are referring to all my family & friends now!

Mike let me use the code reader for free which was nice. He told me that my catalytic converter needs to be replaced and then quoted me $1600 just for the part then explained to me that he could open up a line of credit for me and what not. Turns out my vehicle’s O2 sensors were faulty so instead of 2 grand, I paid $200 to someone who actually diagnosed the vehicle instead of telling me what I need off a simple P0420 code. Everyone else I talked to that day, informed me that Mike was trying to make a fat commission off me and that’s definitely what it felt like. Won’t be coming back but thanks for the code read!Edit: changed to 1 start bc I gotta call from the shop shortly after this review and Mike says “I don’t make commission dude!” Like 3 times. Uhhh okay?? Still doesn’t change the fact you could’ve given me an actual diagnosis instead of encouraging me to open a line of credit for a part I didn’t actually need.

I went to aamco and they worked hard to fix it. Even when they didnt get to the root of the problem the first time they went back and for free chased the issue until it was fixed.I will and do recommend them to anyone looking for a auto place they can trust.They also have payments plans, because they understand that most of us dont have alot of money saved for car repairs.

I had a lot of anxiety because my truck needed a new transmission, i called around and had a lot of people tell me a lot of different things. Mike at Aamco in Hazeldell was where i ended up. From the start Mike the Manager and Brian the owner were so good at explaining the process and keeping me updated with progress in building my transmission. They will for sure get my business in the future.

Mike at the front desk was great. His technicians were amazing. My car had a bunch of random issues, and I was looking at a major repair bill, possibly a new transmission or computer. The technichian was able to fix it, and it was a simple error in the computer. They were great. I am so glad I took my car there. They were good, and didt charge me for things my car didnt need, and that wouldnt fix my problem. I will absolutely go back for service in the future.

Great shop, quality work, Mike the manager pulled some strings and gave me some huge discounts and just really did all he could to help me get back on the road. I purchased a voucher on amazon local for brake service and got a great deal. When I made an appointment and came in the manager was very helpful and friendly. I got new parts at great value and am very happy with my visit. I will definitely come here again for any for work on my car.

I worked with a guy named Brian. He went above and beyond! He drove me to work and delivered me my car at the end of the day after he worked on it. PLUS he actually found TWO things wrong that I have been complaining about and he actually found the issue. I am so thankful. I was treated great and got a good price. On November 21st I pulled into AAMCO on Hwy 99 in Vancouver WA for the first time and wondered if Id be happy with the brake job they agreed to do. When I called the day before to confirm my appointment Manny (Service Manager) told me what to expect. When I got there he explained the steps involved in performing the job. He even showed me each worn out part as it came off my car and described my choice of replacements. I am accustomed to shops inspecting my car in order to give me a long list of recommended services. What I got this time was a comprehensive list of things they checked - and was told that everything looked good after the initial brake job that I came in for.I was back on the road in an hour and a half and my brakes, in fact my whole car feels good as new. I also appreciated the attention to detail of the knowledgeable young mechanic who performed the repair, although unfortunately I dont remember his name.I highly recommend them. Even though it was a 60 mile round trip, for me it was very worthwhile and I plan to return when there is a need.

I needed a wheel bearing change on a BMW X5. I called several shops about getting the work done. I ended up pulling into AAMCO in Salmon Creek by mistake. I was supposed to go to another shop near them. The guy at the counter asked me what I was needing done and gave me an estimate. WHOA! It was far less than ALL the other quotes! The work was done the same day and right on time like they said. No surprises on the bill and the car sounded perfect. I give them an OUTSTANDING rating! Keep up the good honest work. I now have a shred of faith in a local shop...

Great service from Tom at AAMCO. Ive taken both my cars in to him, and Tom is always straightforward and honest, explains the issue, shows me any problem issues on the car and keeps me informed during the process. Couldnt ask for a better transmission shop. They also do standard oil and transmission changes for a very reasonable price. They were doing a standard oil change on my Toyota and they found my transmission pan was banged up due to a run in with a snow bank. Tom mentioned this to me and said he could just bang it out for free if they did the transmission change. We found out that the filter inside was also damaged, so that was replaced. Great service, Tom is very diligent in his job.

They went above and beyond to get my truck back to me as soon as possible after reprogramming a brand new computer for it. Professional work with a small shop type of service. Very pleased.

Aamco towed my car to their shop to do a diagnosis they called me back and told me it was my transmission and it would cost close to 5,000.I explained that was to much money and I would have to get back with them,I contacted some other shops and found a shop that could do a new transmission with a five year warranty, When I told Aamco that I was going to have this other shop do the work and pick up the car,they called me back and said they are charging 13,050.For what a diagnosis and a tow bill I had to contact a lawyer and they still have my car!They are trying to endorse a finance company also these are not ethical people in this business corrupt.

Hi- I had a Transmission issue that required replacement of transmission. I did some calling around for estimates. They were all about the same 3000.00 which was a lot to take in. I called Aramco in hazel dell and spoke to Andrew he was so nice and helpful very compassionate about my circumstances and listened to my concerns about cost time etc. I brought my vehicle to him and once again in person he was very kind and caring also looking me in the eye and giving me his full attention. The process took a few days, but when I received my vehicle back it was running like the day I bought it and the car is 7years old with 96,000 miles. When you came in for our brake special it clearly states on the terms and conditions of the deal that the brake special includes standard brake pads, resurfacing of the rotors, and the labor. That being said, after we did our courtesy multi point inspection on your vehicle our technicians confirmed that your rotors were cracked and could not be resurfaced. After we found out it was cracked, we brought you out into our bay and we personally showed you the crack on your rotors. Also, your brake special included standard brake pads like I stated before. However, I upgraded you to semi metallic brake pads at no additional charge. Therefore, I dont know where the disconnect comes from. I always try my best to keep all of my customers satisfied with our auto repair services. Please contact us at your earliest convenience to try and resolve this matter.

The new manager was very accomodating, flexible in time as I was a little late and unlike the previous manager didnt tell me he couldnt do the work because I was late. He was also very helpful in explaining what he thought was wrong, and made sure I could get in quickly to get it fixed. Overall the service was great and I will be very happy to continue going there for my future repair needs.

My suv still there during three days laying around, I knew fuel filter changed weeks ago, fuel cap indicator lights on and off, now service engine lights is on, easy fix but too much mechanical words fill up the diagnostic, I should haul it to sears instead of this place!! Please fix my car before I write too much complication on web page thank you. I thought Jiffy Lupe is worse, but let me tell you this story !!more to come and it’s still there with over a week, 11hrs labor estimation. But nothing done overtime sitting there!!

Just need to say thanks to Mike and the owner Brian over at the Aamco off highway 99 in Hazeldell. My wifes car broke down off I-5 on her way to work, stranding her on the side of the freeway. I called AAmco and spoke to Mike, he sent a tow truck out immediately, within 15 minutes the tow truck driver was there picking my wife and her vehicle up off the highway. i was worried about the next steps of getting my wifes car back on the road because i was out of town and she needed it asap. But Mike and Brian took the time to explain what repairs were needed to my wife and they made a phone call to me. This shop isnt like the rest, they treated us with respect, kindness, and honesty. Communication is the key and i will be taking all my cars to the AAMCO on Highway 99 in Vancouver. Thanks guys.

We had to bring our car back here to b fixed properly after paying 5000 to a ammco on 224th and division who did absolutely nothing ... and lied to us. But now we have it back and its shifting like Butter. Wish our first experience was better. Thank u guys for fixing their mistakes for free and going along w my warranty.

Three days they had my car, with no communication at all. I took it for 3 things. Oil change, an broken window motor and a whole in the exhaust. They kept it for three days, they never called me and they didnt do anything to the car. They dont have a motor, they said and it cost me 1000$ to fix the while because they dont have a welder. But they didnt bother calling me to let me know all that. It cost me 20 $ to fix the exhaust at another shop. if you have too much time to waste and to much money go to AAMCO.I must have been drunk when I wrote this, but its true. (2 years later)

THEN: Thought I was pretty much screwed before Brian found the cure. It may have doubled the price of the truck BUT its worth it in the long run- thing will last the rest of my life. In and done before lunch tomorrow.....more to follow.....and it didnt cost THAT much!!!!!NOW: As it goes it shifts, stays in gear, no clutch slip, no grinding, and found out what I needed to see with the 2 speed it has also. This sur beats the old AAMCO that used to be on 4th Plain 30 years ago.FUTURE: We have the convertible going in next month for fluid filter adjustments, and the Dodge going in for the same the month after-yes, I would recommend them, highly!!!NOT JUST TRANSMISSIONS: They do a lot of other stuff, tune ups, oil changes, whats wrong with it?-type things. Id call and ask for a quote if you have something that some shop is going to do, might find it more economic to go here, never know, worth the phone call to say the least.....Thanks guys!!!

Where to start, I took it to have it diagnosed to find out why my car wouldnt stay running. It took them a full 3 weeks to call me. And they told me they had to change the igniter and distributor, and that it take about 2 days. So I didnt hear from them for about 5 days. I finally called them and asked what the hold up was. They said they have all the parts in and they are going to take it out for a test run. And that Ill have it the next day. Next day rolls around and I didnt get a call. So I called them later that next day. They told me that they found out that my injectors are leaking fuel and that the O rings are bad. So they need to be replaced. So I agreed to have them replaced and they said they will have it done Monday afternoon since they are closed for the weekend. I again never got a call about my car. So I went down there after work and asked what is the deal. They said they need to reset the timing and get a timing light and that they need to keep it over night since they were almost closed. So they kept it over night and I went down there the next morning after work and they said they Havnt started yet for the timing and that its going back into the shop and itll be done in couple hours... And I still havent gotten a call... They have poor service and they have had it for a while month today... They dont communicate with me or let me know what the update is for my car.. Very slow and poor service

They treated me well and fast

Transmission had been acting up and was leaking around the pan. I took it in and they tried a service first as there was not any pieces or parts in the pan. The transmission issue got worse. They asked me to leave it overnight because the issue was prominent while cold. Next morning it was driven and I was told that yes, it is internal. I gave them the go ahead to drop it. It was dropped and tore down on the bench for my 1pm appointment.Aundrey, the tech working on it, showed me the part that failed, and explained how it took out other parts. He also offered part improvements to help keep this from happening again. (01 Dodge Cummins. Unfortunately, the transmissions that were put in these trucks were not beefy enough to handle upgrades to the engine) There was a build sheet with three different options for the rebuild. They were explained to me and the cost of each one. I chose the middle as i have mild upgrades to the engine. I gave the ok for the rebuild at 130 pm, and it was ready for me 3 or 4 pm the next day.I took it in for the 10 day check and explained first gear seems soft. It took some RPMs to get it moving. An adjustment was made and all is good.Great bunch of guys who work very well together, that seem to enjoy their jobs. I highly recommend you stop by and see the Brian and Brian show.

Came in to get the transmission service which included new fluid and a filter. Service was fast and my car is shifting great now!

I took my Tahoe in for regular transmission service and fluid change. Not a bad deal for a 4WD at $150. Got a call an hour later and was told they werent going to charge me and were putting the old fluid back in. They also said I should park it until I could sell it because the tranny was on its last legs. I told them that I just paid it off and didnt want to sell it. He cut me great deal on a complete rebuild for $3000. 4 days later I got it back but noticed some surging on the freeway. Took it back and they fixed it in the next hour. Its now been a few thousand miles and no issues.

My clutch blow out In Battle Ground Wa.at 7:30 in the morning. I contacted AAMCO on Hwy 99 at 8;00 am when they opened. Phone was answered by Wayne Clubb the owner. He was friendly, helpful and willing to help in any way possible. He asked if I needed a tow and I explained the Tow Truck I has ordered had just arrived so I did not need the help he offered. On the way to the shop I asked the driver if he had heard anything on the AAMCO shop we were going too. Driver stated shop and Wayne have an excellent reputation. Myself and my wife are in our 70s and live on Mt Hood. My wife has problems finding anything in Vancouver. Wayne made arrangements to take me Downtown to the Hilton. My wife had no problem picking me up. Thanks to Wayne his directions and transportation. Car was ready the next morning at a fair price. It is nice to know Senior Citizens have an honest, helpful shop we can get excellent serivce at fair price. .

Great repair got her BMW right back on the road and did not take advantage of us like everyone else

I went to a different shop before here had trouble with a CVT transmission they told me the pan had a crack and they dont work on CVT transmissions I called this place they told me they did work on CVT transmissions turns out the transmission didnt even have a crack was just loose pressure gauge they fix it quick and cheap honest people and good work my car is smoother then ever thanks guys

I bought my girlfriend a 2008 Audi A4 only to find out the Transmission needed replacement and a shop to perform the work since it has the CVT transmission that was going to cost $5000 for replacement! I was greeted by the manager Brian who was really attentitive to my needs, requests, AND my budget. I was really worried about fixing my car but he was so helpful and cheery to me he turned my badb news into a good experience. I was so glad he gave me a huge smile and he informed me that they were the only shop in Vancouver with the skills and equipment to build CVTs and they could take care of my car. I was so relived i didnt know where else to go.Very clean shop, fantastic staff that not only did the job quickly and correctly, they pointed out some other items that needed repair so we could make an informed decision on our repair. 5 star service from 1st minute, 5 star treatment and we feel that we are driving a brand new car. Thanks Aamco Hazel Dell. And thank you Brian for turning a stressful situation into a pleseant experience!!

Paid lots of money to get the transmission fixed in our car. Cost over $3000.00. They were paid in full, and yet they have been working on the car off and on for over 3 months now. When we get it back, it ends up having another issue. They dont seem to know how to fix it right, so now contacting better business bureau to file a complaint. I would not recommend getting a vehicle worked on here. Might cost more somewhere else, but it is worth it since in the long run it will still cost less than all these different statements from AAMCO supposed transmission experts. They are not experts.

EXCELLENT AUTO SHOP,I have been going to AAMCO this past year for a variety of auto services, they are polite, professional, prompt and confident in their work. I have been more than pleased with their services every time I have to go to AAMCO in Hazel Dell. I would recommend them to anyone I know.

I brought my flatbed truck here to have my transmission rebuild two years back, at the time i was told 3/10,000 mile warrantyAlmost two years later transmission went out so toke the truck back to find out it was a different owner now and that my original receipt said 1 year 3,000 miles which was out of that both by miles and time, even though my frustration was big since i was told something different I knew it wasn’t this people fault, thankfully the new owner was willing to work with me and instead of sending me home with the problem in my hands decide to fix it at almost no costI would definitely go there again if i ever need to lets hope not hahaha.

I have not had the best of luck at AAMCOs but this one is my new place for anything truck based. I am very picky about the parts that are used and the way things are done on my truck and they were completely willing to work with me on every item of service. I will be coming back as long as Zander is there.
