I initially started my car search at Volvo of Austin. That dealership could not have been less interested in me as a buyer. So, on the advice of my father I drove to Garlyn Shelton in Temple. My dad was absolutely correct about the level of service and customer care at Garlyn Shelton. I was met at my vehicle when I arrived at the dealership My Sales Consultant was Ted DeGracia. Ted is a consumate professional and he loves his job. He made the car buying experience fun and his knowledge about the car and Volvo was impressive. This purchase experience was exceptional. Thank you, Garlyn Shelton Volvo. What an exceptional experience!

Service dept at the Temple Volvo is the worst I have ever encountered. You schedule an appt but it takes all day anyway or they tell you they can’t find you in the computer after you’ve spoken to the phone twice. I drive in from Waco to be told this when it’s routine maintenance. Love my xc60 but will never purchase another car from Volvo in Temple. They don’t care about the customer.

I bought a 3 yr old Volvo s60 from them, very next day, car had a abnormal issue, tookit back itd diagnised and foubd that both rear tires are bad, and they dont want to cover the expense . saying its in their standard, if i have to fix i have to pay them 700$ to fix. worst experience from a socalled luxury car dealer. please dont waste ur money here and be @ risk

When we initially pulled up we stood around the vehicle for almost 10 minutes while someone watched through the window. After waking to the door I was finally greeted and asked if assiwas needed. Stated talking to one sales rep after taking a phone cal in the middle of our conversation he stated he had to leave because his appointment was there, another rep came roughly ten minutes later. The 2nd rep answered all the questions, after asking to look at another he left to tur in a set of keys and never came back. Worst service

Someone greeted us upon arrival to let us know that I needed to move my truck out of the way. A few minutes later, another staff member, very politely let us know that sales staff would be out very soon... More than an hour later, and after making eye contact with several of the sales staff on the car lot, no one asked us if we needed assistance or if we had been helped.I will be purchasing a new Volvo. Unfortunately, not from here.

Volvo of Temple makes you feel like a valued customer!After an unpleasant experience at Volvo Austin, I had all but given up the search for a Volvo. I saw through the Temple website that they had several NEW XC90s listed for a very similar price to what Austin had in their pre owned inventory. I went through their site and set an appointment. Once there I worked with Drew Cizek, as my sales consultant. Drew was very easy to work with and talk to about what I was looking for and the budget I had set. He and the Temple team worked hard to get my business and totally earned it! Not only did Drew find an XC90 in stock that met my needs, but he and the team worked to get me a great financing rate, as well. I would absolutely recommend this dealership and Drew to anyone if youre looking for a volvo in the Central Texas area.

This was the worst experience ever on the service side of Garlyn Shelton Volvo. We are new to the area, and a check engine light went on in our Volvo. we called to see if there was a drop box for after hours to leave the car. The girl at the other end of the line said, no, there wasnt. So we made arrangements to accommodate our work schedule to drop it off when they were open, low and behold, there WAS a drop box. After they serviced it, we asked if we can pay over the phone and retrieve the car after hours. Girl said nope, cant take payments over the phone. Well, you guessed it, they did. Trying to get ahold of a live person to speak to is like pulling teeth. First 3 calls to the 800 that was listed on their webpage that I searched for on my phone was some sort of telemarketing scheme. I finally talked to a gal, she connected me to the service dept. and then to a voice mail. Turns out when I asked for a manager because I was so dang frustrated, I was connected to his VM, he left for the day. Back to square one and call them again. Get another girl, tell he I NEED to speak to a person, she cut me off and, you guessed it, voice mail again. What a complete s**t show! After 6 phone calls, I finally got someone to call back, but they didnt call the number I requested, they called my husband, who was at work. Someone needs some customer service training badly. We wont be returning to this dealership. Any suggestions to where we can take our Volvo for needed service. To add insult to injury, they forgot to put the updated oil change sticker on..Oy Vey!

After my first purchase of a Volvo at the Austin North Dealership and a very bad experience with them I wasnt really looking into buying a new Volvo again. But two weeks ago I got a call from the Sales department if I would be interested in looking around while my car is in service. So I made an appointment and found my self in the hands of Chris. He showed my wife, my son and myself around and was very patient in showing us different cars. He even didnt mind to take us to the other side with the Volkswagen cars and showed us different options there as well. Im very particular when it comes to the bells and whistles I want in my car so it took a long time but they found a car and made me a good deal (thank you Kerry) where I traded in my 2017 Volvo and got a brand new one without any down payment, a much better rate and the same rate I have at the moment. I love my new Volvo XC60 which drives so much better and works better (Pilot assist). Thank you again Chris and Kerry!Btw. the service is very friendly and helpful. They are always nice and polite and have done a great job so far with my old car and hopefully with my new one in the future as well!

Came up here after having dealt with the Volvo dealers in Austin and Georgetown (latter now has closed) and finding them...lacking.Came away in February with a brand new XC40, and all in all had a wonderful buying experience working with Christopher in Sales (now moved to Finance, good job!), Adam in Finance, and eventually Randy in Service (had to do a recall and fix a bubbled window tint).The location is easy to get to, everyone is friendly and laid back, and it doesnt have that usual frantic atmosphere that most car dealerships had.Because of the Austin dealers, we had moved to Audis for several years. Looks like were a Volvo family again.

Definitely have had great experiences with this dealer including their fairly knowledgeable staff and Maintainence crew who have helped me keep my car maintained. I have a pretty fairly modified Volvo and this dealer was not afraid to get their hands on it. They have given me the best prices on oil changes almost the same price if I was to change the oil myself!they have always had my car in and out same day in all cases. Even when my cars hose sprung a leak from the turbo oil line I brought my car in they instantly took it in and ordered parts and got the parts in next day and finished the vehicle the next day(even kept my vehicle at the shop and offered me a ride back to fort hood!) definitely would recommend bringing your Volvo here if you have one! Overall very credible dealer and will continue to get my vehicle serviced here!

If youre in the market for a new car you should go here! Jason was absolutely phenomenal to work with. He was kind, incredibly knowledgeable, and not pushy by any means. He made my husband and I feel so comfortable throughout the entire car buying process, and we are so pleased with our new XC90. I also felt like the dealership as a whole (and everyone we interacted with) was looking out for our best interest which is a rare find. Definite 5/5 dealership!

Great experience at my local Volvo dealership! After traveling the distance to compare prices at other Volvo dealerships, I found the best customer service and prices at Garlyn Shelton Volvo. I like to do my research before purchasing a vehicle and Jake and Zach were great at answering all of my questions. They werent your typical pushy car salesmen and helped make my decision easy and comfortable. Just had the best experience with these guys! I talked to over 10 Volvo dealerships and Jonathan was amazing to work with! They gave me a deal that everyone else said wasnt possible. Jonathan was so polite and spent over an hour with me syncing my phone and showing me how to work all the features of my car. Even Darrin the finance guy was great! I told him I didnt want to buy any added warranties and he didnt try to push me or sell me anything else. I will definitely buy from this place again!

My experience with Garlyn Shelton Volvo was completely positive. On a short notice to buy a Volvo I was very pleased with Zach on helping me get a 2017 S60 Volvo along with all the behind the scene personnel. All my questions were answered and if there did not know the answer there got back with me. I have been dealing with Garlyn Shelton Volvo since 2001 and I have always had great service with the sales department and with the service department along with Anthony the mechanic that has maintained all my Volvo for me. If and when the time come again for a new car or SUV I will be back to get another Volvo. Thanks for everyone help and support in getting my new Volvo.

Service department worked hard to resolve the issues with one of the worst cars on the road in my opinion. the Volvo S60. Nothing but problems electrical issues, warped brake discs, complete electrical failure requiring a new battery after only 4 months. instrument cluster replacement, the little ipad and electrical systems crashed frequently rearview mirrors decided to spontaneously look down at the road while driving.The Pilot Assist, is a death trap it will disengage spontaneously, and want to jerk left or right and through you into a barrier, be ready, horrible vehicle.Service department was stumped, some were even scared of that pilot assist.After the sale, when the rubber hits the road, sales and Garyln Shelton corporate were completely abscent because the customer is upset. dont do it. Read online reports, readits msn auto reviews etc. Granted it is a beautiful vehicle. After the third date things go down hill.Remember Volvo is not volvo anymore, they are owned by China and built in the US, at least the S60s are. this has been the worst vehicle and sales experience i have every had. Will never, ever purchase another volvo, or ANY brand sold by Garlyn Shelton.

I have never received such poor service. My Volvo S60 does not have a spare tire so when I had a flat while visiting my parents roadside assistance towed my car to the nearest dealership in Temple. I called every hour on the hour for a status update on my car. I received an almost immediate call from the sales department asking if I wanted to purchase an upgrade! They always had extreme trouble locating me in the system. They did not call back after numerous voicemails until 2:30 pm. At that point they let me know that they didn’t keep my stock tire in stock, that they would order it and it would be ready the next morning. They also said my car was horribly out of alignment (despite the fact it was aligned by a volvo dealership less than 2000 miles before) and that they didn’t know if they could let me leave the lot without purchasing all 4 tires and getting an alignment. They were not able to provide a tread depth or articulate a rationale. When I called my normal dealership they let me know my tread depth was still safe and that there was no way I would need an alignment but set me up with an appointment to follow up with me. I called the Temple dealership multiple times the next morning and didn’t hear back until noon that they had my car and the tire but no wheel weights and that the car would be ready around 1 pm. When I arrived at the dealership shortly before 1 they said they would get started on my tire soon. Avoid this place at all cost!!

I recently purchased a new Volvo XC90 from Caleb at Garlyn Shelton Volvo. They didnt have the vehicle configurations that I wanted (looking for the XC90 model with the captain chairs) so after taking a very informative test drive, he started looking at other dealerships for some options that fit our needs. This location searched tirelessly for a vehicle that matched everything I was asking for...and it took days...While the selection was limited in the color I was looking for (closest location was Nebraska, and the factory is a 6 month wait for a built one), I ended up purchasing my second color choice (thunder gray) and didnt have to settle when it came to the amenities I was looking for.The car arrived yesterday and it was absolutely beautiful. During my entire transaction, I was helped by Anthony (sales Mgr.), Drew (another salesman), and Adam (finance) and they were all amazing. Drew even stayed late with us the day we picked it up to show us some of the features (Caleb was out sick). Ive never bought a new car before, but after having multiple used cars where my extended warranties were put to the test, I decided it was time to try my luck with one fresh out of the factory.I highly recommend this dealership, and their employees.

1. We had already looked at the vehicle that we purchased and asked for soft prices (trade in/sticker reduction) before driving 45 minutes to the dealership. We were told that the finance manager was in a meeting and too busy at the time2. We asked for a bottom line price because we didnt want to play the price game. We still went back and forth on the price and decided to leave and think about the offer. As we were driving off, our salesman came running out with another offer.3. We had an appointment to pick up the vehicle, but received a call to change the day because the finance manager had a meeting, but we later discovered that he was not at the meeting and not at work.4. Our salesperson promised to be there to go over the features for delivery of the vehicle when we arrived, but he was sent to a training meeting. Fortunately, Earnest spent over 2 hours showing us the working of the car and helped with download of the Volvo ap. Earnest was very pleasant and thorough, and a joy to deal with. He was our salesman when we purchased our BMW.It seems like meetings and training are more important than customers and selling vehicles.5. The rubber floor mast were terribly soiled.

My experience with Garlyn Shelton Volvo was completely positive. Over a period of about 18 months I talked to several people there about the XC60 and got very good information. All of my questions were answered. The determination of the price went very well also. Brent, the sales person I worked with and the sales manager, Jake, both dealt straight forwardly which I appreciated. Earnest, whose last name I do not know, is a real treasure! He knows the features inside and out and sat with me a long time going over how to operate things until I reached overload. He then invited me to come back any time I wanted to go further. Brent, who was being pulled many ways that day, made the same offer which I took them up on later.

It initially was not suppose to come in until January or February but they managed to find one in November. I bought a new xc90 back in July 2019, it didn’t come with a front license plate bracket, I’ve called numerous times to speak with Tony Rodriguez the manager who never picks up his phone and never returns calls. I finally got a hold of him after three weeks of insisting to let him know what the deal was he told me he would get one in the mail for me and it’s been three weeks and nothing has arrived. I’m thinking he sent it on the Pony Express literally. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

They overcharge ridiculously and the work is mediocre. Had an ignition switch replaced: the key still turns funny, but so far the lights will work now. They didnt have a part that was needed for another repair, and an exterior part mustve been knocked off while they were working on it. My vehicle looked worse getting it back, and both times they didnt give it the complimentary wash they give certain other customers. There wont be a third time there. Dealerships in Bell county are just overall not as good as in other states weve been stationed in.

Garlyn Shelton Temple has been our dealer for over 10 years now, first with Mercedes, then BMW, then a new Volvo XC70 in 2010. We have always been very pleased with this dealership both for sales and service. And we love our XC70! So, when we wanted and new XC90, naturally they were our preferred dealer. Starting with Jake Thompson, General Sales Manager and Zachary Holland, Sales, our experience throughout the process was over the top best weve ever had anywhere! My wife usually does not go with me for a car purchase. She made an exception this time as I wanted her to be in full agreement and on the same page as me with this purchase. She was quite pleased with the entire experience. To say that she does not like to go to car dealers is an understatement. To say that she LIKED this experience is a PROFOUND statement! That is a huge compliment to everyone involved! Garlyn Shelton, you ARE our dealer.....and you have been for a long time! And we are now a TWO Volvo family! Volvo is the best! Garlyn Shelton is the best! And Jake and Zach were extremely courteous, accommodating, and knowledgeable.....and also the BEST! Terrific Experience! After struggling with not one but two poor investment purchases of the Eos line due to problems from VW, I spoke with Garlyn Shelton about staying in their family line and moving into an SUV... as long as I was not put through the usual game-playing hassle of car shopping. I ended up favoring the Volvo XC60 and it was a very nearly painless experience... until the financing portion. While I am still MOST positive about the staff and support Ive found through Garlyn Shelton, I was truly distressed by that last step. I would much rather be presented with a higher final price than go through the pressure sales to hear how I simply must buy special programs to protect myself from high repair fees for a vehicle Id been assured was reliable with easy maintenance.All to say, I am still a fan of Garlyn Shelton and will certainly consider them again for future purchases... as long as there is NONE of that final gauntlet of pressure.

I was getting ready to look at new cars and had several in mind including Volvo. There is a dealer closer than Garlyn Shelton Imports but having purchased my Mercedes from his Georgetown dealership I wanted to drive up and visit his Volvo dealership. I was greeted by Ernie who listened to what I was thinking of doing but I said only exploratory at this time. The more we talked the more it made sense to make the deal right then and there. Ernie went through all the widgets and gadgets carefully explaining all. A friend of mine and I had really talked cars over the last few months and I told him he should really drive up and look at the Volvos at Sheltons and he too bought one the same day. The people who work there no matter their capacity really seem to enjoy what they do. I never felt I was pressured to buy and I have had, this the seventh premium suv since 2000 so I have experienced different types of car salespersons. These people are hard to beat. I, after five months, continue to love my 2016 xc60.
