Came here to change a worn clutch. Big job for me. Bring my own tools and rent a few there for a couple bucks. Gladly to finish it in 10 hours. The price is very affordable. Hopefully my car won’t need big repair in the future; if it does, I would definitely come back to this self-serve garage. Great time there and great services!
This place and the guys were genuine, helpful, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond. They helped me realize what was truly wrong with my car and that I was about to waist time and money replacing the wrong part. I will be back to use their amazing garage, that has everything you need to do any job. LOL, Once the correct part arrives. Also, being a woman, they never made me feel out of place, like I shouldnt be there or couldnt work on my own car. You guys deserve every star.
This shop was introduced to me by my cousin and I knew from the first time I used one of their bays to fix her Yukon that I would be back to work on my own truck there. They are well equipped with almost every tool you could need to get the job done (for small rental fee) they have multiple types of lifts for different applications and their rates are amazing ($10/hr for bay without lift and $20/hr for lift bay) if you know how to work on your own vehicle and lack a proper location I highly recommend you check this place out! Definitely a returning customer
Normally 4 stars is my top tier for reviews, unless something really special happens. Well it did. No more outside in the cold do it myself auto repairs. Heated shop with, or without a lift. Forgot a tool, you can rent it. Need a part? Can be delivered right to you. Friendly, courteous staff.
I have repaired my car their multiple times. The mechanic that comes in is amazing. When I screwed up my brakes, they helped me out free of charge, I highly recommend it.
Great rates very helpful everything you need right at your fingertips to work on your own car just bring the parts you need with you
Amazing help and great pricing especially if you are trying to do your own oil or regular maintenance. Definitely will be back
This was the first time Ive been at the Self Service Garage and I love it! The front desk person was super helpful, and very knowledgeable, as well. Garage and tool rental is very affordable, and there is a lift they guide you on to and run for you. I will definitely be using this business again!
Went to pick up a U-haul with my Son and found this place to be more than expected an all the good ways.
Love what they are doing there.
Always excellent services.
George was awesome and very helpful. I love being able to support a fellow Veteran, and work on my car inside.
Friendly helpful staff, clean work areas, all tools provided, with few. They help me change rims and tires and it only cost me $25 +tip..
This garage is amazing! Clean, organized, helpful and super cheap!!
This place really is special and I am so grateful it exists. If you have the knowledge and skill to preform the task this facility is perfect. Thank you for providing such a great place.
Highly recommend! Used a stall with a lift, and rented a couple tools. My seemingly simple job ended up being more difficult than it should have been, and the mechanic that was on-hand was very helpful in helping me get it finished. Very friendly, as well.
Best place ever to do your own work, they have all the equipment youll need to do whatever you want to your vehicle. George is awesome.
I love coming here for oil changes or automotive work that requires a lift or tools I dont own. George and staff have always been friendly and helpful. I also love to support a veteran owned small business.
Great, we r&r a bad transmission from my sons welding truck, they had a four post liftWe are from Arizona so it saved us downtime and money on welding truck
These guys are great! I had a huge job to do and they took it in stride, got me set up and were helpful throughout a long difficult day. I got the work done with nothing but helpful assistance from Frank (? Pretty sure that was his name... ). At the end of the day I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable it was. Dont get me wrong it wasnt dirt cheap, just a lot less than I expected. Thanks guys. Two thumbs up! Five stars! Life long customer here.
Clean and well kept place to repair your own vehicle.
First time DIY oil change, they provide every tools I needed without charging me a single penny. Got an bay with lift which definitely make oil change alot easy. Thanks to George hes always come up offer help when I need it. Its a perfect $10 oil change.
They always have the tools I need if I need them, and have treated me nicely with every visit. I highly recommend using their valuable services.
Love working on my car here. Also if youre not sure how to do a specific job, reach out to Robert and Tosh with Hendrix Automotive. They operate out the garage and offer some of the best prices Ive seen.
Little pricey but definitely a good place if you wanna learn a new skill (fix your car). You may take a little extra time in getting things done but you will be able to use professional tools and at the same leaning new skill. Once done you will definitely feel proud of yourself.
Nice, people. But it could get kinda expensive
Great place to work on your vehicles if you dont have the equipment or space. Its very chill and the customer service was good. It can get pricey if the job takes you more than an hour and using their equipment has extra fees. I brought my own tools, I just needed a lift bay for the job.
Went in today to install a trailer hitch onto my car. Both gentlement working there were very professional and helpful. I brought my own tools but somehow forgot the 3/8 ratchet. They let me borrow few tools without charging me any rental fees. Even lended a hand to help me torque down a few bolts. Their prices are very fair! I highly recomend this place!
Extremely good idea if you want to do your own maintenance on your vehicles.
Awesome concept, I dont know of another place like this. The owner seems cool and the guy who seems to run the counter most of the time is great, super friendly and helpful, and he seems quite knowledgeable as well.Shop is about what you would expect, its a pretty standard shop. Two 2-post lifts, a drive on heavy lift, and some flat stalls. Theres a good selection of tools and equipment that theyll loan out for an additional cost. Shop air is available as well.Overall its an extremely useful service that they provide, at a reasonable price ($10/hour for a stall with no lift, $20/hour for a lift). Would definitely recommend.
Complete incompetence from the employees. I’ve had multiple occasions where I had to correct an employee’s inability to do their job safely or correctly. However, this time it was down right dangerous, he used the side skirts and my tire as lift points. Had I not been watching him he would have either destroyed my car or gotten someone hurt or killed. When I pointed out the mistake and informed him of the proper way to lift a car he begrudgingly tried to adjust the lift arms. After 30 minutes I decided I would go somewhere that I didn’t have to rely on incompetent, lazy, and out right rude employees.
Rented a bay to do a transfer case fluid exchange on my jeep.... makes it so much easier then laying on the ground and removing the skid plate to access the case to service plus they had oil collection tanks on wheels that makes the job so much easier
The best staff! Very helpful. Great resource for those repairs that you really dont want to be crawling around on the ground all day for. Deals for oil changes. Bring your own tools.
I have worked on all of my vehicles in this shop. They always have the tools I need if I need them, and have treated me fairly with every visit. I highly recommend using this extremely valuable service.
Rented a lift to do some minor work on my car. Space was clean, and George was a real nice dude. Would definitely recommend if you’re like me and live in an apartment, with little or no space to work on your car.It was really nice to not work on my back for a change, and in a warm place no less. A godsend during the winter. Will be back for sure.I was also informed that they do oil changes for $10. Just buy your oil and filter, come on by and save some money.
I usually do all my diy work on jack stands(I am cheap) but had to rent lift for transmission fluid change. Owner was nice and assisted me few times when I needed it and even cleaned up my mess. 20/Hr price seemed fair compared to other places.
It is.....exactly what it says....I changed the transaxle oil in my Porsche 986...a NIGHTMARE job on jackstands.....Easy on a lift.
Clean and safe garage. Support staff are very knowledgeable. Will definitely use again and highly recommend.
This garage is an asset to the community. It was super convenient to work on my vehicle. George was very helpful, and provided all the tools necessary for all my repairs. It was great to see the undercarriage of my car. The rates are very reasonable ... and i didnt have to sweat the disposal of my oil .
Great please for working on your car or to rent a U-Haul. Good prices and friendly
George runs a good and fair shop. I much prefer doing my own oil changes and mi it repairs, without this place Id be humped. On a side note, theres a mechanic named Dan who runs his business out if there. If you need repairs, hes the guy to ask for. Good work, excellent prices. Dont hesitate to ask for him.
These guys were great! We went in, made a mess, and were still cleaning up after closing and they were super cool. What a great resource! I wish there was something like this in every town!
An amazing place to go the owner is one of the nices people Ive ever met helped me when I was having problems trying to fix my vehicle definitely going back next time
This place is great. The prices are right out there so there is no confusion. If you need tools they have them to rent for a decent price. The owner is really friendly.
Summary: Excellent place for DIY, good eqipment, comprehensive selection, great people. Pricing seems very reasonable, and always accommodating.I am an experienced mechanic, but living in an apartment, so no garage to work on the car. I have used the self-service garage four times now, the first for an oil change, to get a feel for it, and since then several major repairs, one that stretched out WELL beyond the expected time (rusted/frozen bolts and other parts on a rear suspension repair). They were extremely helpful, shuffled other bookings around so I could keep her on the lift, extended over Saturday and Sunday, when I had expected (and booked) only really 4-6 hours Saturday. They have a good selection of tools, plenty of the usual stuff in case your car needs some oddball size not in your toolkit (which I discovered), and also specialized stuff that is just not worth the expense to buy and use maybe 1 or two times (presses, various air tools, etc.).Prices are up front and detailed. I cant understand why a few folk have complained, considering a closed and secure garage, with safe, clean lifts, jacks, and even a helping hand for a minute or two when youre stuck... I felt they were most reasonable.Last time I was there, one bay was fitting a towbar, and clearly had never held a wrench/ratchet before. They staff kept a close eye on him, making sure he was safe, showing how to use gear, etc. Helping him to interpret the strangled English and drawings to how the heck the thing fitted together (we all had to think about that one!). He left with well fitted towbar, and also a sense of accomplishment. I would imagine probably saved a few dollars as well, but not sure that was his major concern anyway.I recommend the selfservice garage to anyone/everyone. If youre an expert, a newcomer, a DIY-er, whatever.I am booked back again this weekend, and no doubt more to come until I have the old girl properly roadworthy/reliable again.
Good place to work on your car, a staff that is well experienced and able to help.
Nice easy shop to rent a bay and work on the truck. Clean and has all the tools you need.
Its perfect for the DIY kind of person. You bring the parts and they provide the space and any tool needed to get the job done. I drained my cooling system and installed a new heater core, and by coming here, I saved a huge amount of money.
I like to do my own oil changes, rotate tires, brake pads, etc. This is a great place to work on your car. With the car on a lift I dont have to lie on my back on a cold concrete floor in my garage at home.Saves wear and tear on the body.I was able to borrow a socket that I had left at home, thanks! They recycle used oil and oil filters in an environmentally responsible way, thanks for that too!
It was awesome working on my car here. I was able to do a brake job replacing my rotors and pads. I also changed my oil. They rent me their tools and they had everything I needed. A mechanic showed me how to remove a bolt that I had accidentally stripped. Although I had stated when making appointment that it would take about 45 minutes, it actually took me an hour and 45 minutes, they did not rush me.
Great place! Highly recommend clean friendly owner cheap prices.
Helpful advice and good people and prices
This is a great place. If your experienced, or semi experienced to whatever help you need they will help you through it. I know my way around cars but had never done brakes and rotors. Needed a bit of guidance on the first side but once things were explained I got the first side done the second side came real easy even with a broken hand. Thank you self serve garage for the assistance and a great place to have for us to do our own maintenance on our vehicles. In a safe secure location where we dont have to worry about getting wet. I would recommend this location to anyone that needs a place to do their own maintenance work at a decent price.
When you rent a vehicle, no matter where you refill it, they say you brought it back with less gas than it had. They charge you something like $80 and then fill the ENTIRE TANK and charge you for it even if it started out with an eighth of a tank. Avoid at all costs. Uber drivers just go to the green light in Seattle.
Great place to have your car fixed. Fast and easy, strongly recommend it!
Tools for rent as well as jacks and stands and even whole lifts to use. This place is AMAZING for someone to do their own work. Very reasonable prices too.
Awesome place, Installed an exhaust on my car today, 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone wanting to work on their car. Awesome staff, very friendly and helpful. I Look forward to coming back!
Doug and staff were very helpful, especially in getting a factory Swedish hot rod 2” off the ground onto a lift-no easy task.
The owner, George is a scammer. I do not recommend you go here unless you want to get ripped off. He overcharged me, lied to my face & refused to refund the money he stole. Beware of any interaction with this company!!
This place is fantastic if you dont have the space to work on your car. Lifts, tool rentals, and friendly staff.
Helpful guys,nice quiet space.
If youre mechanically competent and just need some tools or a way to get out of the weather, this is the place for you. Not laying in a gravel parking lot is easily worth $10 an hour and a lift for $20 an hour means easier access for all those hard to reach places.
Used their lift to do a transmission flush, radiator flush, and fuel filter change. A must have convenience on a lowered vehicle and saved me a lot of headaches. They had containers to catch all fluids and even had a parts cleaning station for my transmission pan. I only wish they werent so far away from Bellevue and Seattle.
Went to do my oil change here and its very well kept, George was very friendly and helped me out the entire time! Awesome place!
Very convenient for people that needs to work on their vehicles and very fair price too.. The facility is nice and well kept.. Very organize and clean
We thought the place was great and the staff very helpful. If the need arises we’ll be back for sure.
Really nice place to rent a lift and do work on your vehicle!
Used them twice now for breaks on my cars. Had difficulty removing the drum on one the on site mechanic had it off in only a few minutes and i was able to finish the job in just a few hours.
Excellent experienceStaff was nice and helpfulReasonable price per hourGot some subframe connectors welded up(with the owners approval)Keep in mind, the workers there will not do the work for you. They will help, but they arent paid to do ur work for you.Ill definitely be back!
Doug is very helpful. Easy in, easy out!
Tl;dr: I would absolutely recommend this place to a DIYer that has the know how but not the means to repair their vehicle. Reserve a spot if you want to get in and out. Do your homework on what tools youll need to rent so you can factor that into your cost (each tool is pretty cheap, but obviously will add up if dont think it through). Be respectful of rented tools as well.I had a better experience here than I could have hoped for. We had a clutch go out on a 97 pathfinder. I called ahead a week or two and reserved the weekend warrior spot on a lifted bay.Once we got the car on the lift, George and his assistant were both helpful giving help with getting tools when needed and the occasional input if we needed a second set of eyes for advice (not to actually do the work). At the end of the first day, we asked George for some food recommendations and he had some good local spots up his sleeve. At the end of the project, the car finally works with a new clutch installed. Checking out again left me pleasantly surprised, you really get a very fair deal here with pricing. The equipment available and the cleanliness of the space is also great. Weve got another project (rear main seal, timing, and water pump) coming up and have already reserved a spot. This beats the piss out of crawling under the car to do the work.My only suggested improvement was I had a bit of trouble getting in touch with the shop a few times over the phone/email. When I got there I realized how busy things are so I understand. All the more reason to call ahead like I said to avoid any time crunch headaches. Thanks again George, you run a great business that helps a lot of people!
Dennis was great! This is a great place to work on your car.
What a great place to make repairs in a vehicle. I had a great afternoon working my car there.
Good place to stay out of the rain and cold if you dont have a garage to do some work on your car.
Great place, owner is a fellow vet. Gave assistance when I needed help with my will be back for sure
Installed my exhaust here. Good people.
I love being able to bring my car here, get it on a lift, and fix it myself.
Coolest idea for a business. Fair prices
This is a place where Vehicles are inspected for Uber. They were very professional and helpful
My husband went with his brother here to change the oil on the car. They have lifts and tools, its really great for people who dont have the means to do simple car maintenance at home.
Great place, just like being back in auto class, will definitely come back
George the owner is a chill guy, just pull up your pants. 👍
Great place, lots to offer at a reasonable price
