Roopair is the best Subaru shop in the region, bar none. Ive been having my Subarus serviced here since about 2011. The team is honest and knowledgeable. They work quickly, at a reasonable rate, and stand behind their work.

I have had great experiences every time with Roopair. Josh was able to diagnose a couple problems, give accurate estimates, and fix said problems. Wont be taking my Subaru anywhere else.It was really tough finding an new mechanic after Hawks Asian Auto Repair in Fife closed. Although the rate is a little more than Hawks (not by much), definitely felt like it was justified with the overall thoroughness of Josh and company.Definitely recommend Roopair for all your Subaru needs.

Quick and efficient. They dont use a comprehensive check list like Im used to at the dealership. Thought they might be less expensive than the dealer... Maybe by 10 bucks, dealer always does a car wash when done so theres that too.

The costumer service was ok. I just thought that $150 an hour for a diagnostic was a little ridiculous. I mean what happens if it takes 5 hrs to figure out whats wrong with the car? Do they really expect someone to pay $750 just for a diagnostic on top of the cost of the parts and labor which could cost double that amount or more. Im sure their good mechanics but the price for a diagnostic is ridiculous.

There is not another place I would ever take our Subarus to. Absurdly fast response and repair times. Honest quotes and service. Praying this shop never closes as I really wouldnt trust anyone else. Working with their ROOsales shop was top notch as well.

Excellent service. Went for a 90K service on my 2010 Forester while on a camping trip in the Olympic National Park (Im from out of state). Ended up being about $100 less than the estimate! And I was out of there a couple of hours quicker than originally expected! Car is running great. Will definitely return for future service on my Subi - a great reason to plan another camping trip in the ONP and the beautiful state of Washington : )

Very honest, helpful, and professional. Would 100% recommend if your Subaru needs work. Brought my Forester in with a ticking A/C. I thought it would need a whole new compressor. But they inspected it and turned out to just need a A/C recharge. Got it fixed in an hour or so for 1/4 of what I thought I was going to spend. Very honest, helpful, and professional.

Went in with our older Forester for an oil change and asked them to replace a squeaky belt and change out our brake pads. They changed the oil, tightened the belt and told us the brake pads still had plenty of life on them. We left with a very small bill. We were happy that they only did work that was needed and didn’t do the unnecessary work that we were prepared to pay for. Very fair and honest business. Would highly recommend!!

I was advised by a dealership in the area that my Subaru all of a sudden had a severe oil leak and needed immediate maintenance. Skeptical of the sudden issues with my Subaru I called Roopair. Josh the Service Manager scheduled my appointment. When I arrived early for my appt, he looked at my Subaru earlier than my appointment time. He was very honest and didnt try to take my wallet for a ride!! I am 100% going back here whenever I have any car trouble or need maintenance and will be bringing all of my Subarus here. Great place and very honest. Ive been taking my 2009 Forester there for 5 years. Dealer quoted me $4400 for repairs; Roopair did it for under $2K. Theres no barista here to make you a latte while you wait, but who needs that anyway. They do great work at a fair price. Highly recommended.

Took my car to a different shop 2 times and they continued to tell me I had a transmission issue. Got to RooPair and explained it to Josh. Told him what in thought the issue was, he agreed. Put on proper, good quality parts and had my car fixed and in and out within an hour. 2000 Forester with 281,000 miles and its running smooth thanks to their quick, quality work. If you have a Subie, don’t even go anywhere else.

Ive been bringing my older Forester here for several years and really like this shop. For me, a good and trusted auto mechanic is one of the people important to my life and when I find that person or shop, I very much appreciate them. The advice and service decisions weve made here have felt appropriate and not unnecessary, Once, it was simply suggested that I change something I was doing, like your doctor telling you to eat a better diet to see if your health or condition improves -it did. Also, they have a way for you to track things like your service history online if you want. It requires you to create a password which I try to resist but, a nice optionI now live significantly outside of Tacoma and make the drive. And its my understanding, Im not the only one. These are good people and I highly recommend RooPair.

Roopair is the best!

My first visit, 90,000 service for 2014 Outback, all went well, got some useful tips, will probably return for substantive stuff and go to dealer 30 minutes closer for routine stuff.

Ive had nothing but good experiences here at Roopair. Josh, Dan and everyone Ive spoken with have been nice and helpful and the technicians are quick when getting an oil change on the order of about 20 minutes. I highly recommend this shop for your Subaru.

Honest and efficient. They only charged me for a quarter hour on an easy fix. Most mechanics charge for an hour, even if it only takes fifteen minutes.

After my first visit for a major car repair I will never go anywhere else. They identified and fixed an issue that four other shops kept saying wasnt really broken. The other work I brought them was done very well and for less than the local dealership quoted. They provided a loaner during the repair. All in all Im very happy with this place.

Had my first experience with Roopair this week and am very happy with the result. Took in my 2003 WRX for service and asked for some additional diagnostic help with a brake problem I was having and thanks to their deep knowledge and understanding of Subarus they were able to solve the problem in short order as well as clearly explain the issue and what they did to solve it, which is much appreciated. I have never been more impressed with a repair place. I took a used Subaru that I bought from a dealer in for an inspection (You know, the one you should get BEFORE you buy the car?). They were fast, courteous, and gave me good news--I found out I bought a fabulous car! The price for the inspection was excellent, and they replaced a couple of little things the car needed. I actually look forward to taking my car there again for routine stuff.

Hard to say how they are overall as they dont tell you much of anything other than how much you owe. Ive brought our car in for a few oil changes and the front counter guy doesnt prioritize customer service. To make his inadequacies in communication worse, they never provide any kind of status report post appointment, which makes me wonder how thorough they actually are. It might be there, but I dont see the quality control and as a customer Id like to.

I bought a 1999 Legacy Outback about 6 years ago and heard about Roopairs at that time. I cannot praise them enough. Great employees and the prices are reasonable. I have a friend whos son bought a Subaru and told them to take it to Roopairs for oil changes and anything else that may need to be done in the future. My father took his Subaru there to get a new battery installed. It was much less expensive then if he had it done at the dealership.

Roopair is my go-to maintenance and repair home for all of my Subarus, starting in 1986, when Ben and Dan worked in a shop in Parkland. They go well beyond providing excellent customer service and skilled mechanic work. They keep me on top or everything I need to keep my car running well. Year 10, for the current Outback.

Not what I expected.Disclaimer: This was not based on the quality of the shops work, rather the way they treat their customers.First of all this shop is pretty busy and sees a high volume of vehicles. Secondly they are a Subaru specialist and they have a long track record of diagnosing and repairing boxer motors (of the Subaru variety). Thirdly, they deal with a lot of owners that either dont know much about their own cars or simply come in with a plethora of issuesIt started when I made an appointment for my sisters vehicle and had to reschedule the initial appointment due to an illness. When we arrived we were greeted by Dan, which we proceeded to sign in for our appointment and described the issues with our vehicles. At first the interaction was pretty routine until we started to go over the work for my sisters vehicle.She is the original owner of our 2004 Forester XT 5speed. There has been some looming maintenance for the car such as, spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, clutch, flywheel, ps pump, AC recharge, diff fluid change, transmission fluid change, and some other odds and ends. As soon as we get done explaining those items that need to be taken care of, Dan simply says, You might as well get rid of the car. Without a second thought or a quiver in his voice. My sister and I look at each other slightly stunned. We try to inform Dan that we are looking to maintain the car and keep it within the family due to how few manual XTs are still around let alone imported at the time. Dan then proceeds to tell us how much it would all cost and before everything was said and done wed sink too much money into the car and wed never see any of it back.This all came as a shock as you think for the prices of their labour that they would welcome a high dollar customer job. After some protest we agreed on replacing the clutch and flywheel but Dan told us it wouldnt be for another couple weeks as they were totally booked up. They then took my Forester in and quickly solved the power steering line leak and one of my cam seals that had been leaking.Fast forward a couple weeks later when my sister is ten minutes away from the shop for the appointment (keep in mind we drive well over 45 minutes to just get to the shop). When Dan calls and says, I cant get you in well have to reschedule the appointment. My sister then explains that she just drove a half hour to get told ten minutes prior that they would be unable to accommodate her vehicle that was on the schedule. Dan proceeded to argue with my sister about the issue and said that she could reschedule if she wanted to.This obviously left a really terrible taste in her mouth and theres no surprise that we never called Dan back. We didnt expect this kind of treatment from a professional Subaru mechanic, let alone one with this track record. Its fair to say both I and my sister wont be going back to Roorepair, for the service we received alone is enough to make anyone not want to fork over cash for service even if they are good at what they do.

I just had my first visit here and Ill be a repeat customer for as long as I have my Subaru :) The staff are super friendly and no one tries to upsell you - my entire oil change visit cost the same amount as what Jiffy Lube tried to charge me for just the oil. They also fixed an old problem with my ABS that had been bugging me for ages!

Very knowledgeable . Had rough idle and gas pedal delay on my 01 legacy for so long took it to Subaru of puyallup. And another Subaru specialist. Both couldnt figure it out. Came in to just get my rear o2 sensor . They sat me down and told me he can almost guarantee its because both o2 sensors are failing but not throwing the code yet . Sure enough . They replace both . And it fixed it all . They saved me money with 5 star service . Highly recommended !!

Always feel like they go above and beyond. Josh is my favorite employee there. Its nice to know every time i go there he will be there and hes always honest about what needs to be done and doesnt bother with the stuff thats just gonna cost me extra but isnt absolutely necessary and i appreciate that very much. I dropped my Subaru off on Saturday for a Tuesday appointment since I had a ride available. Roopair started on the service on Saturday so that my car car was done mid morning on Tuesday, and much cheaper than the dealership.

Auto repair shop which only works on Subaru vehicles, thus the name is a play on words Subaru and repair. They were quite honest in their assessment of my vehicles mechanical issues. Didnt try to persuade me to order repairs. Actually told me not cost effective to put money into repair.Anyone with a Subaru should check them out next time needing routine maintenance or a mechanical issue.

I miss having a Subaru simply because of how good Roopair is. Well, and theyre also great cars.Before my current vehicle, I had a 2003 WRX and loved it. Zippy little solid car that was great in bad conditions. Just got a little too small for a family vehicle.About 5 years ago, I brought my WRX into a local dealer for a quick oil change on my lunchbreak. When they were done, I was met by a service technician with an iPad. And a hard sell. He had pictures of the cars engine and told me the head gasket was bad - oil was leaking everywhere and he just needed my signature for the $2k+ work to be done. I told him Id think about it.Took the car to a different place and they said, no, it looked like just some bad seals and they could handle it cheap. Cool. Except 6 months later, they said my head gasket was about to go out and itd need to be fixed for $$$$.And then I found Roopair. I mentioned what the two previous places said and the guy laughed, shook his head and said that, no, head gaskets dont really go out on the cars. Despite it being 10 years old. They do their magic and find oil leaking somewhere else onto the gasket and explained that that was probably what the other people were seeing. They fixed it for something like $120. Drove it for another year before selling it and it was in great shape the entire time.I never felt like I was being hustled here. Theyve all been down-to-earth guys that seem to just really enjoy working on Subarus. Based on previous companies Id worked with, pricing was fair and they never pressured me for anything. The few times they spotted something that needed to be done, they brought it up and let me decide what to do with it. Unlike dealers, theyll install 3rd party parts (like brake pads) without issue and they drove to get it (complimentarily) washed after appointments.Great place.

In the past dealing with Subaru dealerships once during servicing my two year old vehicle they indicated a part had to be replaced. They often created problems that did not exist. Amazing just got a used 08 sti got rod knock 6 days after I got it! Evryone at roopair was vary helpful with helping me move to a fix.
