My appointment was at 2:40 and the whole process ended at 5 pm... I had to wait a long time but it was ok what it was not ok I had to wait more to get new glasses while the lady that was in charge of glasses took her time to discuss personal matters with a client, yes its nice to be amicable but making other clients wait over personal matters is disrespectful, and when it was my turn she didnt want to look into insurance information. I didnt have a good experience.

This was the worst eye appointment I have had ever. When I walked into the office there were 22 people in the small waiting area. COVID protocol was completely ignored. Some patients were even sitting on the floor. I have Lupus and I try to be careful so I waited in my car. My appointment was 30 minutes late. The office was clearly overbooked. They did not take the safety of their patients into consideration. Even though the doctor was good, I will find a more professional office.

Do not go here unless you absolutely have to. The second my daughter is old enough to go to my eye doctor we are leaving. These people do not respond to voice-mails. You have to keep following up. They also dont provide you with all the information you need to order glasses online. I ordered glasses through this group but needed some extra cheaper pairs. They told me I had to come back in separately to get information to order without them.

I arrived early for my 5 year old’s appointment since he was a new patient...45 minutes later he still had not been seen. Thankfully he is fairly well behaved but we had other commitments and could not wait any longer. It was very, very crowded in there, which makes me wonder if maybe they’re overbooking patients. Before posting this I read the other reviews, and it seems I’m not the only one with this experience. I would recommend going somewhere else if you value your time, and especially if you have young children. I’ll be looking elsewhere.

DONT GO. You will have heart attack just by calling them.Very frustrated about their team in Hamilton branch. I went there in June and they charged me $175 with an in network doctor. I called them twice (AND insurance company tried to contact them as well), and asked them to resubmit the claim correctly to Cigna so they can process again and pay for me; they never responded to our phone call. Now they are threatening me to collect the money through agency.Oh, and I called their billing team and they said they will talk to manager, and talk to insurance team, and talk to agency for further steps. So after almost 3 months, nothing is solved! Why is it so hard to communicate with client and insurance company when you are such a big company???

I guess it all depends on how much free time you have. Since I was a first-time customer, I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment to check in and deal with paperwork. But, after waiting for 45 minutes I asked about my status. I was told I was up next but thought to double check on the amount of time Id then need to wait once I was with the tech/doc. I was informed that it would take about 2 MORE HOURS and that this was standard. Now, Im in my mid-40s and have been wearing glasses most of my life and I do not remember ever needing 3 hours for an eye appointment. For what its worth (and the only reason Im giving 2 stars and not 1) I thought that those in front office staff were polite and nice. They were sympathetic and said I should have been made aware of this time expectation when I scheduled my appoint but obviously that wasnt the case.Beware -- if you value your time AT ALL this is NOT the place to go.

Horrible experience on two separate occasions. The first being very long wait time for my 2 year old in an overcrowded waiting area - not even enough chairs for everyone to sit. Then after they dilated her eyes we had to wait again but was told to go wait in the car if I wanted and come back on 20 mins. I went to the car and was only out there like 10 mins when I get a phone call from the front desk saying they couldn’t find me.. I told them I was waiting in the car as instructed and would be right in. She then said well we sent someone out to look for you but didn’t see you. How would they even know what to look for?? No one asked me where I parked or what my car looked like. I said well I’m still sitting here IN my car IN the parking lot so idk what to tell you. But we are coming in now.. so we get inside and the lady tries to take us back. Right as she’s about to take us into the exam room, the door shuts. She looks confused and has us wait in the hall while she figures out what’s going on. Some other lady comes up and says since we couldn’t find you we had to give your room to the next patient. You’ll have to go wait in the waiting area again. At this point I’m very annoyed because as would be expected my two year old isn’t the most patient person and we have already been here an hour and her eyes are now dilated which made her even more unhappy and now we have to go STAND in the waiting room. Anyway, after another 10 mins or so they finally got us back to the room and the exam itself went okay and only took about 5 mins. Dr. Salit was good with my very upset toddler and was pretty patient trying to get her to cooperate - Olaf did the trick. Also, the lady who dilated her eyes was very nice and helpful - and I did see where she wrote we were waiting in the car on our paperwork so she did her part as far as I’m concerned. The second, most recent event was that they just up and canceled my other daughter’s appointment. They did call and leave a voicemail (that I somehow missed) but I’m not sure why they wouldn’t use all points of contact. When I make an appointment I get an email and text and also a message in the portal. But when they cancel an appt they just give a single call and vm? Needless to say I only found out it was canceled after we showed up and tried to check in - which also takes forever bc there’s only one working computer 😒 I will be taking my kids to a different location because I’m over this place. Would not recommend unless you have all the time and patience to wait around for hours and maybe show up to your canceled Appt.

I probably spent 30 mins jawing with Brittany. And then saw the final visitor, the female Eye Doctor. So with all of it in view, Id say it was a great experience. The Doc was very very dry. But so what. She took some time to go over various details and I learned a lot from that time. I would say short, but it was probably 20mins. I left with a feeling of a learning experience. doesnt happen that often, so Im well pleased with this place. lol it seems my binge watching Monty Python affected even my typing. This place was a complete joke. When making the appointment, we were never told only one parent would be allowed in the room with our child. We get there and they only would let one of us back. This was one of the only pediatric eye drs in the area to see a child under 5. They were recommended by our pediatrician. The “pediatric doctor” had ZERO patients for my toddler. She told him he was out of control, and even yelled at my child. She threatened me to walk out of the exam room if I did not have my child stop crying. She was rude and had absolutely NO COMPASSION. My child was terrified, and unsure of what was going on. If you are going to have a Peds dr, they need to have better training. I will NEVER send, recommend, or advise ANYONE to come here. SHAME ON YOU for how your dr spoke to a toddler.

Overall my experience at Thomas Eye Group was very positive. They take every precaution in keeping a safe environment by asking patients to remain in their vehicle after checkin until called, constantly wiping down all surfaces, segregating frames cleaned/touched and requiring face coverings from all employees and patients. All the employees at Thomas Eye Care was very professional, through and have great bedside manner. Phone reception is weak but they offer free WiFi for patients. Something to note is the time required for the visit. There are multiple stations for various parts of the exams. Each time there is a wait. I was there to get an eye exam and contact lens. Where do I begin? For starters, the woman with the attitude scheduling appointments, should be let go. Obviously, it’s not a job she enjoys. First impressions are everything. Secondly, I should not have to wait 45 minutes to be called back when I arrive ON TIME, and still hadn’t been called back. My time is as valuable as the optical professionals who work there. Communicating how much longer we were going to have to sit and wait would have been the right thing to do but, of course, that didn’t happen either.I’m SICK of the standard expectation being “that’s just how it is.” It’s extremely unprofessional, and I won’t stand for it ever again!!!! Usually, you will wait for at least an hour in the front waiting room, then after seeing a tech, you will get to wait in the back waiting room for 30-60 minutes, regardless of whether you have a dilation done.We went here most recently because my sons eyes were hurting. Two years ago when this happened, we were told to limit his screen time but his eyes were fine. This time his eyesight has deteriorated, but as most of his screen time was at school there was nothing they could do. I asked for a note and was told the doctor didnt want to get involved. So to recap when I can control his screen time, I should, when I would need a doctors help with school, thats too bad. If you want a doctor who is going to care and put your childs well being first go somewhere else.

Currently still on hold waiting for someone to pick up, I ended up just driving over here bc in so tired of not talking to a person. The wait times on the phone and in person are OUTRAGEOUS and when you walk in no one behind the desk or elsewhere will acknowledge your presence. I have been in here multiple times asking them to fax my files to another practice and still nothing, weeks later. Even though I have spoken with the office manager after my last frustrating experience and she reassured me I had been heard and changes would be made, same situation today. Guess Im staying here until I get my childs records in hand since they are unable to fax it.Update- for what its worth the woman that helped me today was very kind and was able to get my records and fax them while I was here. It is just a shame it takes me coming in here multiple times for it to get done.
