My experience was amazing! Amanda took great care of us. She helped me try on as many glasses as necessary to find what I was looking for! Even though it was getting close to closing time! She was willing to provide feedback to my girlfriend too, even though she is not a current patient. It was a wonderful experience! Definitely recommend!

Always great people at this office. Today Im particularly grateful. I happened to mention to a front desk associate (I didnt get her name.) that I was struggling with the balance between my eyes while waiting for my second cataract surgery. The operated eye was being forced to look through a lens in my glasses it no longer needed. I was told to come on by and they could take out the lens in my glasses that I no longer need. (It might look weird, but I didnt really care.) When I arrived, Hector saw that I wear rimless glasses and said that if he took the one lens out it would make the glasses out of balance affecting how I see through my remaining progressive lens. He had a plan to take care of me though. He replaced the unneeded prescription lens with a clear glass lens and it feels so wonderful! My new eye can now learn to function properly and I know I can now survive the next 10 days until my next surgery! Thank you so much!

What a great group of people! Specifically, Dr Ruelle and Hector were very informative, answered all of my questions, and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. Kate and Michaela were awesome as well. Who knew going to an optometrist could be so fun? Highly recommend.

My wife and I came in a couple of weeks ago to get my eyes checked and reup her glasses prescription. This was my first time getting glasses and the whole crew - Kate, Amanda & Michaela were incredibly helpful, generous with their time and knowledge. It made the experience less intimidating and I ended up with cute glasses and the ability to see again. Overall, Ill be back every year! Cant ask for more. :)

First time for bifocals. Hector and his team did an amazing job helping me find the frames that fit my style, my taste, and my face. He made sure that the line-less bifocals were placed accordingly the first time. He was professional, yet fun to work with. I did not regret paying more for these glasses over getting them online. The personal service was well worth it!

I’ve been coming to Eye Associates of Shawnee for 8 years and always receive great service. I do not like having my eyes messed with and always have a bit of anxiety at the start of my appointment. My technician, Kate was really chill with this and helped to keep me grounded. I think I apologized probably 100 times for the amount of takes she had to do on the testing machines...especially that darn air puff one 😣 but Kate never made me feel small about it. I moved to the area recently and needed a new eye doctor. I needed new eye glasses and order contacts. All the reviews I read were good. The staff is very courteous, helpful, friendly, professional. They are caring. The doctor and staff are very thorough. They ask lots of questions and make sure you understand the process, your eyes, etc. They worked with my insurance and their prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.

I have come here for a few years now after a good friend recommended Dr. Ruelle. I cannot even begin to express the level of care, patience and expertise this team offers you. From Dr. Ruelle so nice and personable always taking the time to make conversation that not only makes you feel comfortable but shows how much he cares by taking time time to check your eyes and patiently working with you until you find the appropriate contacts/glasses. I have been going to this location for 5 years now, Every one in the office is very helpful .! Gabby was the young lady that helped take care of me last week, She was very helpful and, I did not feel I was taking to long . That you so much Gabby !! Then I went to pick up my new glasses and you arrive dear not to go in the building understandable, Youre supposed to call and tell him youre there and what youre there for. I did that I was told by Gabby which answered the phone that I would be waved in because the person that does the glasses thing was with someone said okay so I waited and I waited and I waited It was over 35 minutes and the man that does the new glasses fitting came out and waved someone else in before me. Ive been waiting for 35 minutes..

I’ve been going here for the last few years! The staff is always helpful and professional and the office is always clean - especially during the COVID crisis. Scott was able to get me in for an appointment right away and made the eye exam process quick and easy. Beau made it very easy to get new lenses and helped get pricing with my insurance. I would definitely recommend.

The doctor was very quick yet thorough with my eye exam. Nick was the staffer that helped me. He gave good instruction when doing the preliminary eye tests. He showed me a lot of frames that I could afford. I had no idea they had so many cheaper frames to choose from. They did an excellent job, made me very comfortable and I left there feeling really good about my decision to go there for my eye care needs. I will definitely return.

I visited Eye Associates of Shawnee today, I went there because I have a special request for a family member, as usual, Hector, went above and beyond to help us, he researched the issue with the Dr and then he gave us their results, to have someone to trust those issues to is a great blessing, I met Hector in Olathe many years ago, then he was transferred to another location, I followed him there too and now that he is at Shawnee, I am a customer there, not only that, I have taken my parents, my daughter and other family members there, Hector has been there for us all this time, dealing with language barriers and budgets, styles and options, I really appreciate having him in that field, I am one of those people that need adjustments to their prescriptions often, so thank you Hector.

I took my daughter for an eye exam yesterday. We have been 2 different companies before this because insurance, but this was by far our best experience and hopefully where we can go from here on out. Every person we interacted with was kind, fun and helpful. There was no waiting in the office, the doctor gave me more information helping me understand my daughters vision than I had ever received before. (I have never needed glasses and at another place they just handed me a prescription for her glasses and I literally didnt know if she was near sighted, far sighted or anything). Everyone complimented my daughters new glasses choice and interacted with her, having your kid leave an eye doctor feeling MORE confident is just unexpected and goes to show what an excellent office this is.

My honest thoughts about Eye Associates of Shawnee, I walked in needing glasses and walked out with family. Unlike most places, my appointment was actually at the time of my appointment. It was short, sweet, and to the point. I was extremely grateful for Aldo, who unlike any other eye office Ive been to, took the time to not only help me find the frames that were perfect for me, but also gave me his honest opinion on each one. Which may not be what others need, but I was by myself and normally use my relatives as a sounding board, so it was perfect and gave me the boost I needed to be confident in my choices. Lona (aka My New Grandma), Alyssa, and Amanda also chimed in and gave me their honest opinions - which helped boost my confidence. Every single last person I encountered, including Hector, was so friendly and we spoke as if we had known each other for years. Amanda, Alyssa, Aldo, Lona, and Hector are the standard for how customer service should be. Not once have I walked in the office and been greeted with nothing less than smiles, as if I was an old friend. Im so happy to have met these people and to have had this experience. I will never forget. Oh and throughout this entire process, I found out that they had serviced all of my siblings and my niece. So it really is a family thing for us. Thank you guys!

The Shawnee staff is AMAZING! Hector always goes above and beyond to help with adjustments until everything is exactly right. He even comes outside to our car to fit glasses for a family member who has trouble with mobility. The front office staff is the most knowledgeable, friendly and helpful I have ever encountered in a vision office! I highly recommend Dr. Ruelle and his team.

I really love Eye Associates. I had an eye doctor in Olathe for close to 10 years, but I ran into some poor customer service when trying to reschedule an appointment, so I decided to try Eye Associates in Shawnee. My experience has been excellent both times I have gotten an eye exam and ordered contacts. Thorough eye exam. Short time after exam I had to return for medical issue related to eye. Got in quickly. I have kind of a specialized prescription and a tough time last few years with getting good fit with glasses elsewhere. I recalled positive experience with this office before so decided to return. Good choice so far. Staff has answered all my questions. I am looking forward to working with them. Ill follow up after getting glasses and contacts but do not foresee any issues since they met my needs before. Already recommended to my other half.

We worked with Amanda and she is the reason we will continue to come here (well, also because Dr. Ruelle is so stinking personable!). We left tonight very informed and comfortable with all of the decisions we made regarding our glasses and contacts. I got my eye exam here but used my prescriptions to get two pairs of eye glasses at Costco. I had issues with both pairs of glasses which I took to Eye Associates of Shawnee because it was closer to where I live. They resolved the issues at no charge. They even called the Costco Optical department to clarify their measurements for my progressive lens glasses. I highly recommend this office for their excellent customer service!

This is my second time going to Eye Associates of Shawnee for my yearly eye exam and this place is wonderful. The Front Desk staff are very friendly and helpful and the eye doctors take time to get to know you and your needs. I never had any issues with this location. They accept most vision insurance. I also like this place because they have my contacts brand in stock :). I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a change of eye doctor.

I have been going to this location for over ten years. The staff is friendly. Appointments are easy to make, even at the last minute. Their hours are convenient with evening and Saturday appointments. They even mail contacts straight to my home if they dont have what I need in stock.

The staff is both friendly and competent, The office is well organized. Selecting frames and making lens choices is guided wisely, not designed to make the office the most money, but to get the client the best product. While it a bit costly, the final product is worth every cent!

The staff of Eye Associates in Shawnee are amazing. Joni was so patient and offered helpful advice while I was searching for glasses. I bought my first pair of glasses at Eye Associates and I will continue to go back for appointments as long as I live in the area.

I got in quickly, initial exam was efficient, and doctor exam was also done without undue delays. I spent some time selecting a pair of frames, but the rest of the check out process was extremely slow. The staff mentioned computer speed problems, but I must have stood there for at least 1/2 hour while the information was painstakingly entered into the computer for my three pairs of glasses, two of which were the same frames, just a new prescription for the lens. The total visit was over 2 hours long!

Optometrist if fantastic, and staff is very friendly. If any mistakes are made, they go above and beyond to correct them to ensure you are satisfied.

I had an eye exam at the Olathe location, so when I suspected I had a cornea scratch, I called the office to see when I could be seen. In the course of the conversation, the receptionist suggested to me that the Shawnee office would be close to my work and I could be seen that afternoon.The staff was very courteous, and prompt as I was seen right away at the appointed time. I especially appreciated hat the doctor was listening and asking questions regarding the reason for my visit. It turns out I had scratched my cornea, but just to be on the safe side, I was given an appointment to return for a follow up a few days later to check on my healing progress.Thank you for taking my health seriously and for treating my injury with great care!Debbie Gish
