I made an online order well in advance - a truck, two dollies, blankets. When I came to pick up the truck there were no dollies at this location. I was advised to go to the nearby location hoping they have dollies. I drove there but there were not dollies either. I was about to cancel the order because no dollies means I am not able to move stuff. I ended up losing time and buying two dollies. I dont think this is acceptable at all. When I make online order and I receive an email Your order is ready and waiting for you at xxx I expect that literally what I ordered is waiting there. Not 50% of the order making my move suddenly impossible because of u-haul poor service. Thank you for at least having a truck and not ruining the day completely.
Please don’t go here for a hitch installation. They rescheduled my appointment multiple times, first because I scheduled it “too late in the day” even though I did it through their website which said it was available. Then they didn’t get the part shipped on time and rescheduled again. Then when they finally got the part and I drove to their shop, they waited until the car was on the lift before telling me that the part shipped without hardware/bolts. At which point I just got a refund and walked away. So yeah I would go elsewhere for a hitch install. I’m sure they’re great at renting trucks though? Terrible experience and waste of time. I had a great time at the driving range next door while they wasted my time though.
Location has no parking. There is no nearby parking. There is no off-hours return despite signs saying there is. There is another confusing similar U-Haul location 2 blocks away. Vehicles are severely damaged and method for ensuring youre not liable is quite broken. Gas estimations are exaggerated against your favor. Do everything to avoid this unless youre completely desperate.
My experience was absolutely horrible. I realize there are good days and bad days at any customer facing company, I just hope I caught them on a bad day? My gut tells me this was not an anomaly but ill give them the benefit of the doubt
I sheduled a pickup at 9:30AM Sunday and arrived at 9:20, only to find that 11 people were queuing ahead. Ask personnel whether we have options or app to fast checkin, answer was you have to wait in queue. Took almost 1 hour waiting, picking up truck at 10:28PM. Delayed my scheduled movers for 1 hour when my movers were waiting. Messing up schedule is acceptable. The unacceptable thing is the double charge. I reviewed the receipt, and found a huge mistable in the receipt. I returned the truck at same day 16:17PM, which I took a picture of mileages. However, the receipt showed return time of next morning 11AM. I was charged two period of rental and safemove insurances. I double checked my credit card, see the two pending charges for two days. If this was made in error, please correct it.update on 7.14finally took 2+ weeks lots email to claim full refund.Move 1 star to 3 stars.
Staff was very friendly and informative about issues I had with the reservation system (no fault of the staff or location). Answered all my questions and moved very quickly to get me in and out of the truck!

The team at Interbay Uhaul is excellent. They were prompt, personable and very helpful. My day of moving went very well with the dependable truck and all the equipment that was provided in the truck - all at a reasonable price. (dolley, handtruck, mats/covers) I live right up the street and this is my go-to place!
Consistently understaffed with a 30+ wait on weekend mornings. Online check-in is worthless because you still have to wait in line to pick up keys and complete check-in process. No manager available on a weekend morning at the end of the month which is one of the busiest times.Online reservations are meaningless because it will allow you to reserve equipment that is already spoken for, which happened to me. I reserved a cargo van online and in store I was told none were available. I was able to complete my job with the pickup truck they provided as a replacement, but this could have been a major headache.Two stars because the employees are friendly and as helpful as the system allows them to be. Equipment was clean and serviceable for an in-town job even if the oil light was on.
Usually I never have issues with Uhaul dealers. But the Interbay dealer hit us with extra fuel charges after the return, with no forewarning. Id advise trying your luck in Ballard.
Staff members were friendly and efficient. They were extremely busy but they took care of everyone in front of them, worked with my timeline and provided an option for us to keep our car parked safely while we embarked on the move in the truck. Easy reservation process done with just 24 hours notice on a busy weekend. I appreciate them!
A confusing experience dropping off at Interbay. Although I was directed by a text message from uhaul corporate with instructions for dropping off after-hours, I ultimately discovered when I went to drop the key in the after-hours box, Interbay does not accept after-hour drop-off! I called various uhaul customer services numbers (7p on a Sunday night) and was on hold for 45+ minutes, and ultimately was never able to talk to anyone. I tried calling Interbay the next morning and still couldnt get anyone on the phone to talk to me (ended up transferred back to corporate after 15 min wait). Eventually I did talk to someone at Interbay and they explained the disconnect between their drop-off policy and corporate messaging. Although I am sympathetic, as a customer it would be good if corporate and branch offices got their stories straight on policy.
U-haul either didnt correctly read the mileage BEFORE I took the cargo van or AFTER because I was charged for driving 56 miles when I drove 17.5 and now I have to fight to get my money back. Of course I didnt take photos and thats the last time I do that. Whoever reads this review, be sure to protect yourself. Ive used this location twice before and now Ill be extremely careful if ever using it again.Edit: Changed to 3 stars cause I was able to get a refund for the mistake u-haul made.
The staff were great and the facility and vehicles were just fine, but the inability to park my car at this location where I’m renting a vehicle is one of the most asinine things I’ve ever heard of. Rent your vehicle at any other location if you can.
There is no after hour drop off at this site, and that was not clearly communicated at pick up (in fact there is still signage up that says there is 24/7 drop off), and I spent an hour on the phone trying to figure out how to drop off the vehicle after a long day of moving. Additionally, the next day I received a call from a staff member at the site who was very rude and ended the conversation by hanging up on me.

Really great crew on a very busy Saturday in Seattle. Efficient and kept the stressful situation light hearted. Check in was very fast as well. Newer cargo van drove great.Only negative is the lack of long term parking for us solo movers. Catch a ride from friend/family or an uber.
All their trucks were booked and the person who had mine before me had not returned it by my pick-up time. This is, of course, not U-haul’s fault - the staff were very apologetic, they took down my number and called me as soon as the truck returned (2.5 hours later) and was sanitized. Great customer service! I’m glad I scheduled in a buffer time to my move, and you should as well to avoid any heartache.

I was told at pick up that I would be charged a late fee if brought back after my arranged time (still less than 24 hours total) but when I dropped it off 1.5 hours late I was told Uhaul doesn’t charge late fees. While I am glad not to be charged this was very stressful not to mention confusing. All in all it was a positive, easy and convenient experience.

Over charged and when I called to ask they couldnt see the over charge and of course the manager wasnt in. First time at this location and not off to a good start. People are friendly but unhelpful.

Your Review: The shocks on the vehicle I drove were practically nonexistent, and the after hours drop off was not possible. Moreover, I was not informed about the lack of ability to drop off the vehicle after hours and I was shamed for having a problem with the fact that I was not told about it when I brought it up the next morning. Go down the road to Interbay Self Storage. Ask for Grace and Michelle.!!!!!!!DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!!!!Here’s what to expect at this u-haul location. When they cannot fulfill your online order, they will hang up on you, if you do not agree to use a different vehicle. When you call back and ask whether or not they can fulfill your reservation, they will hang up on you again. The next morning, 45 minutes before you are to pick up the vehicle, they will leave a voicemail instructing you to go to a different location and that you will need to assist in their piss poor fleet management and swap the truck at a specified time 3 hours prior to the reserved 6-hours - in the middle of your move! When you call back, you will be notified that the hold times are longer than if you drove to the new location. Once you get to the new location, you will learn that the vehicle you reserved was changed by u-haul to a smaller vehicle. Finally, your itemized Bill will not include the $50 guaranty. I wrote this review prior to contacting Uhaul for my fifty bucks. TBD. I got lucky: I went to Interbay Self Storage and they were lovely. They are a third party that simply understands customer service and they go above and beyond to care for you. If U-haul reads this: Go down the road and get some training. Your customer service is THE WORST.
There is no parking at this location and it was not disclosed at the time I made my reservation. To be noted, it was explained as soon as I checked in. The attendant did give me the time to make arrangements for a friend to drive to a friends house and get a ride back. The check in process went smoothly once I was able to return. The vehicle was clean with one exception. There were chicken bones on the rails in the cargo area. Drop off was very easy. I would recommend this location to a friend, but advise them about the no parking situation. I STRONGLY feel this no parking situation should be very clearly stated during the reservation process.
Great experience - was running late and arrived at the time they were technically closed but were preparing the trucks for the next day. Returned the truck with no issues or additional charges. People behind the counter are nice and friendly. Recommended
Do not rent here. They will change pickup and drop off location without notifying you and make moving an even more frustrating process.
****UPDATE: The employees at this U-Haul are VERY good. Even though I was annoyed by how the whole process went, the employees saved this whole thing. I just received a call from the manager and she made sure I received my $50 discount for the truck situation as well as a refund for the dolly I didnt receive. I really appreciate her reading my review and making sure things were fixed. So I am updating the rating I gave them.This location was clearly busy the weekend I made my reservation. And I took that into consideration when rating them. The morning I was due to pick up the truck I reserved, Uhaul called me to say the truck was vandalized (had window smashed) and they were doing their best to find me another. The lady told me they would give me a $50 discount should they not be able to fulfill the reservation. I waited 3 hours for someone to call me back with an update and eventually called them to find out they moved my reservation to the next day and I wondered why no one let me in on the news. When I called back to ask about the discount I was told they wouldnt be able to give me that discount because they only guarantee the truck. not the day or the time when making a reservation. I told her that makes no sense but we would talk about that in person. She told me they would apply a discount to the truck price and the mileage however. When I got to the location to get my truck, I waited in line for half an hour (eating up my reservation time) before someone mentioned people with a reservation didnt need to wait in line, this is after I asked. There was a LONG line. I never received the dolly I reserved but they made sure to charge me for one. At the end of my trip I had to stop and talk to someone about not receiving either of the discounts that was mentioned to me and was told there was no manager there so I would have to wait for her to call me back. I never received a call but I did receive an email that I had been issued a $50 refund. So thanks for that. The discount is the only reason I am not giving this place one star.

My experience at U-Haul Storage of Interbay was great. There was some confusion regarding the digital pick-up option. I scheduled my vehicle for a 7:00AM pick-up, but you can only pick-up vehicles during business hours. The staff was professional, attentive, and polite. No parking at the store was very uncomfortable. Because I ordered 10 hour truck, I cannot parked along the street by the store. I had to park in a further place and then walked back to get the truck. When I returned my truck at night, I had to walk 12 minutes in dark to my car.
Nope. The assistant manager (I think her name was Katelyn?) was WILDLY condescending to me on Friday when I didnt understand an issue with my transaction. I walked out. Will not be returning -- to this location, or any Uhaul, truly. Supremely unhelpful. Unimpressed.
I cant imagine what I would change about the experience for both the pick-up or drop-off. Everything was ready and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. This location is now my go-to for moving and hauling needs.

Computer system was down and everyone had to wait for approximately an hour. The staff handled the issues very professionally, communicated well, offered assistance. I was then later that evening overcharged by $100 which I was pretty ticked about. I called up and politely explained my experience then immediately was offered to have it refunded and apologized to. Less than 2 minutes on the phone and it was resolved. Thanks so much guys
Went in on a Monday to buy 5 boxes. 1S, 3M, & 1L. Drove into the enter only area to park. There was no parking so I drove around to find parking with no luck. I parked right behind a truck that was going out for a rental. I go inside to look For boxes & wait 15 minutes in line. As I’m second in line, the manager behind the counter asks if that’s my car. I tell him it is & he asks me to move it to the customer parking. I ask if it is in the do not enter & he says yes. I come back & I am 5th in line & have to wait again. 30 minutes later a second employee walks in & helps me. I request the boxes & their card readers aren’t working. So I wait around for the lady to find boxes & she tells me there aren’t any large boxes as they get a new shipment in. I ask if I can pay the difference & get an extra large & the manager says I have to wait in line again. I would be behind 3 people again. I said I’d take another medium & leave & did so. No sense of urgency & very unorganized & untrained.

We rented a truck from here Thursday, 8/16. When we checked out the truck, we asked about returning early, we had a 24-hour rental but thought we might finish that night. The employee said that we could self-check in if we were to return it after hours. Around 8pm we tried to do just that, but the app that uhaul uses was failing. It would not associate the account I had created with the order number, even after I tried reinstalling the app and using it on another phone. We called U-Haul customer service, waited for some time on-hold, then the woman we spoke to gave us instructions on how to return it if we continued to have issues with the app. She let us know how to lock up, return the keys, and to make sure to take a picture of the dashboard in case there was a discrepancy with the mileage or gas charged. After 12-hours of moving and thrilled to be done were hopeful that her instructions would work fine despite not using the app.The next day, 8/17 I received a receipt by email which showed we drove 80 miles more than we actually did - 99.9 miles versus the 19.9 that we drove. At $1.09/mile, this means they overcharged us by $90. I emailed the contact email right away, but got no response. The next day, 8/18 I called the office. The woman I spoke to said she would have the manager call me back that day. I never received a call. So on 8/19 I emailed again. No response. Finally, nearly a week later, I called on Wednesday 8/22. I was put on hold, and then when I got off hold, the manager asked if I would like a callback. Having never gotten the one promised to me earlier, I asked to stay on the hold line. After waiting for quite some time, the manager Mike came on the line. Mike was disinterested, impolite and unapologetic. He said there was nothing he could do about the discrepancy because there was no note from the customer service person that I had had issues with the app, even though I had called in to talk to them about just that. He did not even apologize for how long of a saga this had been for us, or for the fact that he had never emailed back despite admitting that the email I had emailed went directly to him. He repeatedly said “I’m not calling you a liar or anything” while seeming to imply just that, that I was lying about being overcharged. We drove the truck from this location, up to Wedgewood, down to Capitol Hill, and back. That is a short trip that could never amount to 99.9 miles. Plus we had the picture of the dashboard showing our drive 19.9 miles - it seemed clear that this was a clerical error. But Mike said there was nothing he could do. No apologies or even sympathy for us being overcharged nearly $90, because he clearly did not believe me.On Mike’s instructions I called corporate customer service again, to confirm there were no notes about my trouble with the app. While they had record of my call, they could not find any notes about issues with the app. This means that according to their official policy they will not issue my refund. That customer service agent was kind enough to express her sympathy and file a claim for me anyway, which will now go back to the U-Haul location. I now have to wait another 72 hours for a report back on my claim, but am not hopeful. I’ve spent 3 hours on hold for various customer service lines at this point, and am still out $90. If a company is going to rely on an app for one of its main functions it should work, and if it is faulty they must have a better system for working with the customers who are trying to work around it. The customer service agent who did not take notes about my situation has potentially cost me $90, but worse is the manager Mike who simply rubbed salt into the wound. He, the manager of the location, never responded to me, and then when I finally got ahold of him, implied I was lying versus hearing my distress and sympathizing with my situation. If I can avoid it, I will not rent from U-Haul ever again, and I will certainly never ever rent from this location again.

These workers are doing their best, but something is clearly wrong with management and their systems. I reserved ready-to-go moving boxes a couple weeks in advance, but there were zero when I went to pick them up on the designated day. When I tried to go to the Ballard location, they told me you could only get the boxes if you reserved them online (which I had) and picked them up at the designated store (which didn’t have any). This is very much an issue of oversight. The workers I met with were clearly just trying to do their best in a bad environment, so I don’t blame them. But Uhaul, get it together. This sucked.

David at the Interlay, Seattle location was so nice, patient and explained every detail that I could of possibly needed to make sure I was going to get everything I needed in my reservation. He even brought it to my attention that I was eligible for one free months storage to use anytime for the next 2 years, no strings attached! Could be really handy for staging all my boxes while I pack up my house.Anyway, I think David was the most knowledgeable representative Ive ever worked with at U-Haul. The truck itself was clean and worked well but there were multiple issues including getting overcharged so check your invoice/ receipt carefully!1. Staff gave me the key to the wrong vehicle, and didnt give me the dolly and furniture pads that I had ordered.2. The truck had half tank of gas and I was told to return the vehicle at half tank but was later charged to top up to full even though I didnt use the gas.3. I was also charged an extra day even though I returned the truck on the same day and dropped off the keys. Had to email and the charges were reversed.

This place was a disaster--typical nickel and dimeing & overcharging, but without quality products and services. Trucks are falling apart, in disrepair; the wait times are long as theyre understaffed. The process is excruciatingly long even when it is your turn. The one bright side is that even when the people are incompetent, they tend to be professional and pleasant. The ones who are competent are kind. There are just not enough of them, so they dont have time for you.
I picked up a u-hual in Bothell using the mobile app. It was on a Sunday. I used the truck to move from mountlake terrace to Seattle. I thought I put Seattle location for drop off but didnt. The original price to move was $65. I had a friend use their card and I paid cash. My friend sends me a text asking about a charge from interbay u-hual for $228. Apparently they felt since I didnt drop it off in Bothell they could charge me almost 4 times more. Oh my bad you had to drive the truck back to Bothell from Seattle. Whats that a whopping 15 miles. You gave you the right to charge that much for 15 miles. Yes I should pay more for dropping off in wrong location but not 4 times more. So to be clear my friend was charged $65 to start and then another $228. Im disputing it because thats not how you do business. I suggest whoever reads this to think otherwise about using u-hual to move use budget or someone else.
My overall experience was not great at all. I originally called the U-haul customer service number to make a reservation and was given a Price of $158 for the car hauler renter. I drive from Wisconsin to Washington (27 Hrs) only to be told customer service screwed up and had me returning the trailer to Washington verses Wisconsin and that the rate would go to $765. That is not acceptable when I was not at fault. The manager lowered the cost down to $389 however I still should have not been accountable for someone elses mistake!! Becarefull what you are quoted over the phone..
Absolutely the worst U-Haul I have ever experienced. I have rented multiple storage units, vans, and trailers in Minneapolis and Oklahoma City and have had great experiences there. You can’t park there for a quick rental. If you are getting stuff into or out of storage, yo can rarely get anywhere near the roll-up door with your vehicle because there are trucks in the way. Often, there is a pallet of storage blocking the door anyway, so you have to be able to maneuver between it and the wall. You have to give your license over to get the key, as there is no swipe key access like other locations and they make you put an additional padlock on your individual unit that is their padlock. To top it off, I rented a van for two hours, drove five miles (verified by the odometer) and they charged me $36 for gas, which included a $30 penalty and a gallon and a half of gas at a penalty rate. So my $19.95 van for 5 miles round trip cost $66. I have multiple times done this same move at the other locations and never been treated so poorly and charged such a parasitic fee. Save your money. Store your stuff across the street and get a truck from elsewhere.
Plan accordingly and don’t go right before closing. I arrived for some simple boxes at 4:53pm with a 5pm closing and they stated they were closed and wouldn’t allow anyone in for any reason.
I got charged for a piece of equipment I never received. I requested one utility dolly and one furniture dolly. When I got helped at the start I was provided a second utility dolly to sort of make up for a lack of furniture dolly... though they’re not the same... and then when I returned my truck I got charged for 2 utility dollies AND the furniture dolly even though u told them that I never actually received the furniture dolly. Bad business practice.
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST UHAUL I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!! THE GM BRI IS THE GREATEST AND HER NEW STAFF IS WONDERFUL!!! THE TRUCKS ARE CLEAN AND SANITIZED!! THEY DON’T HAVE ON SITE PARKING BUT THAT IS NOT THEIR FAULT. SEEING HOW THE LOT IS SMALL AND FILLED WITH TRUCKS! BUT THIS IS SEATTLE PEOPLE THERE IS LIMITED PARKING EVERYWHERE!!! BRI AND HER STUFF STILL WORKING HARD DURING THESE TIMES!! THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE!
I didn’t wait too long in line. There were two attendants in duty early on a Saturday morning, which is more than some locations. The truck was fine.They did make a mistake on my billing, which caused me a headache. And I couldn’t prove that it was actually a mistake (you should definitely take pictures of the odometer before heading off and before drop off). With that said, they did refund me the money for the mistake on good faith. Therefore, I have to rate them highly because they certainly could have played hardball with me. I appreciate them making a decision in the best interest of the customer.
It took 39 minutes to get the first truck and when that didnt start it took another 45 minutes to get a second truck even though there were 12 other identical trucks on the lot. The staff was friendly.
The gentleman working was very calm and collected while handling everything well given two people quit the day I picked up my truck. Please give him a raise!

Horrible service. Insulted for coming in on time for my reservation because it was close to closing. Manager tried to put cash hold on my card and tell me it didnt go through and to leave. Basically tried to get me to leave without the truck he was charging me for. His employees had to actually pressure him into giving me the truck. Dont ever go here

Picking up the truck I needed was quick and easy. The staff working that day were super helpful and friendly. Returning the truck was just as quick and easy and very convenient. It took about 1 minute to drop off the truck and process the return. Friendly person receiving the truck back too. Overall great service.
Uhaul is a great company but this location is to be avoided -- Dishonest staff and childish behavior. $60 of phony charges wasted 1 hour of time on the phone with customer support on a busy moving day.
The experience was horrible. After checking in and paying online, it still took an hour to pick up the truck. I texted the general manager, Sabrina Howell, to let her know I was dissatisfied. She had her card posted near the checkout, so I took one and reached out, as the display prompted me to do. She complained that I reached out to her on her vacation. Really unbelievable.
The computer system that is used onsite is horribly outdated. Every time I’ve used Uhahl, it takes almost 20 mins just to get checked in and get the keys.If there were a better option, I would go elsewhere.
Today, 03/03/19, was the first time in four years that I have experienced any problems with the usually very accommodating staff at U-Haul Interbay. I came to get my 10 gal tank filled but I was told that they were too busy to deal with a small change purchase like propane. I was there for 15 min, at 3:45 and I was the only customer. I have been getting my tank filled weekly for the past 4 years. But I guess that the $6,240 that I have spent at U-Haul during this time is small change. Strange way to conduct a retail business..
Quickly told they were not doing propane fills for the rest of the day because they closed in 30 minutes and should go to Ballard. Rude and dismissive.
Made a reservation for a truck for 1:45. Showed up and the lady working couldnt find my reservation, in fact she couldnt find any of the reservations that she processed. About an hour later the poor guy working with her was able to help me (she was worse than useless) and informed me that the truck had been rented but he was able to track down a replacement. I was finally able to leave with a truck at around 4 pm though others in line werent so lucky. They then double charged me. Avoid if possible, the guy working there is good at his job but has to deal with an incredibly incompetent coworker that constantly creates messes for him to fix.
Very rude employees. Waited in line for 30 minutes just to find out they were fully booked. When asking for help the employee was lazy and didn’t want to assist with finding one at another location. Please hire better employees.

Picking up the van was easy to do. Dropping off the van the next morning was also easy. The staff could have been friendlier. Werent rude in anyway just a little cold.
As previously stated by others, overcharged by $65 for wrong amount of fuel returned. $140 to use a truck for 6hrs and 35 miles. Good luck to anyone who dares embark. Wish I read the reviews first.
I had the worst move ever because of this U-Haul location. I called the local numbers of various U-Haul locations near me looking for a 26-foot truck for a 3-day rental because when booking online, 24 hours was the longest period available and the first three I called had none available for that long. This location was 4th on my list and the person who answered the call assured me I could have a truck that long despite her system also only allowing 24 hours. She said just keep it three days and it wouldnt be a problem and there wouldnt be any fees.At 10am the following day after picking up the truck, an employee from this location called asking where their truck was. I said I was keeping it for two more days. They told me to bring it back right away as somebody else was waiting on it. I couldnt I said because it was full and couldnt be unloaded for hours. They said if it wasnt back by the following morning I would be assessed huge fees and as it stood, was going to be charged a $50 dollar fee. I explained that when I called I was assured that keeping it longer wasnt a problem. They said the call center must have answered since they were busy and they dont have access to their scheduling system.I worked all night to unload and load again before the next morning and couldnt finish. I returned the truck hoping to rent something just a little smaller but they said because of my shenanigans the best theyd give me was a van for 24 hours. My shenanigans I asked? The call center told me I could keep it longer with no fees but the rep didnt believe me, blaming me for not speaking with an in-store employee or insinuating that I made everything up.I took the van but after several more trips and staying up all night again I couldnt finish. I returned the van exhausted and with no other vehicles available at any location, I grabbed a Car2Go for 48 hours to finish what I could-not sleeping a total of 88 hours. My landlord was angry that I was two days past my lease and still had lots to move. I finally was able to get a pickup from Enterprise and finished the next day.
I have rented from this location several times, and have nothing but good things to say. I have always reserved my truck online, and when I go down to pick it up, I am in and out in 10 minutes. When I return the truck at the end of the day, its a 5 minute stop.I rent these trucks for my business, so my time is money. These guys have always been quick and efficient. Havent had any bad charges or surprises. Theo has always been polite a professional. Theres another guy in the office whos name I dont remember, but he has always been quick to get me what I need and on my way.I will continue renting from this location going forward, and I recommend it to anyone who asks.These folks are great.
DO NOT GO HERE - The police need to look into this place! I took a truck to move 15 blocks and only did one round (I used to live really close to this uhual on 14th Ave). They charged me for 9miles, a fine of $40 for delivering the truck with less than a quarter tank and $30 in gas to put it back to 1/4. This is all absurd as the truck was with 1/2 a tank when we dropped it off. However I had no pictures from before and after, so no proof of what happened... I paid But knew they were robbing me...worst feeling ever - they were so rude as well!
Everyone I spoke with here seemed to have no clue what they were doing and were super rude. One lady working the counter was kind and attentive, but other than that I had an awful customer service experience. I did the precheck in to pick up my truck and no one was able to locate my key.
Made a reservation for a pickup truck with their 24/7 truck rental service. They first relocate my reservation to a further location about an hour after I make it, and then when I show up to pick up the truck, what do you know?? They don’t have any available! Though I’m parked across from three as I’m writing this. The real kicker is I received no notice that anything was unavailable up until I arrived at the location, and instead got a vague “your contract is ineligible” when I tried to activate my reservation through their app.What a joke
Walked in at 4:50 with my husband when the place didnt close till 6. The man in the store very rudely told us to leave and that they were closed. My husband said we have a reservation, we can check in online if you can give us the key the man again told us to leave. Im appalled, never seen such terrible service.
I dont even know where to start. I needed a truck for approximately 4 hours, thinking it would probably be less. When we picked it up, the odometer was literally off by 10,000 miles and the fuel gauge was completely wrong, so we had to get that straightened out. Rocky start but not a big deal. I brought the truck back at 5pm the same day and personally handed the keys and documents back over to the guy working there and left. One week later I get a call from Interbay U-haul asking if I knew where the truck was. It honestly took me a few moments to respond because I was having trouble processing such an absurd question. I told him that I checked it in that same day, and he just kept saying that he couldnt find it. This same back and forth happens a few more times until he finally says hell check security footage (??) of me bringing it back. I dont heard back on this issue for another few days, until this morning when I see a charge for $538 dollars. No email or explanation, just a $538 charge out of the blue. I call the store back explaining the situation and basically am talking to a brick wall. Totally unhelpful. No sense of urgency or acknowledgement of the fact that they just sent out a huge charge for no reason. I end up calling the corporate customer service line where they are able to sort it out, due to the fact that I was literally on their records showing I had checked it in at 5pm that day. So it seems that the guys there couldnt find the truck and decided they would charge me for it. All in all just a very disorganized, unprofessional, and bush league operation.

Note before I send this, I dont think its the staffs fault for these issues. I put the blame on the location owners. Staff was nice when they were finally able to help us.Nowhere to park, staff started helping random people in line behind us who were having the same problem, waited almost an hour in line trying to get a truck we had pre reserved for 24/hour pickup because the app wouldnt work. Horrible location.Ive had good experiences with Uhaul elsewhere, but not here. Avoid at all cost.
The first truck I rented had a broken gas valve! That is insane.
This one deserves a 0 star rating. The appointments are poorly managed. Understaffed. Rude and unapologetic behaviour from the manager Gabe Mendez. I had scheduled an appointment for hitch installation. Was asked to schedule it 6 days ahead so that they can order the parts and have it for the appointment. The day of the appointment the manager (who was supposed to do the installation) is not yet in. I waited close to an hour when he walked in and told me they have not ordered the parts yet. He asked me to come back in 2 days by when he can get the parts. I came back in 2 days and checked in. They said it will take an hour or two max for the job. I waited in a nearby coffee place for three hours when they called me and told they cant work on it due to too many customers on that day. they asked me to come back on a later day (a Sunday which has least customers). I got Gabes personal number so that I can coordinate with him. I texted him on Sunday before going in person but I did not get any response. I waited for the next Sunday and texted and called him multiple times with no response. I drove in person and waited for another hour before the lady at the desk put me on phone with Gabe. Gabe replied he is out and doesnt know when he can come to the store to do the installation. He said it is a very busy Sunday and asked me to come back again on Monday. He spoke in a tone indicating I was at fault and it is none of his.I cancelled my order and got my deposit refunded. I made a complaint with customer service of UHaul. I havent heard from them.
The staff here is great! Everyone is attentive, nice and actually have genuine smiles on their face. Whatever they’re doing here needs to be spread to other locations.
The guys here were immensely helpful with a last minute truck rental. The lazy dudes over at the Ballard U-Haul sent me to 15th location, and I had a truck in about 15 minutes. No BS charges, truck ran well, and the guys were helpful, friendly and efficient. And after seeing someone call out Theo, I wanted to add... He was managing three customers and two terminals to make sure that we all got service as fast as possible.
Uhaul is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Lynda is the only person who works there that is a decent human being. We were promised a Uhaul for two days and that we would be able to extend it when we picked it up. When we came to pick it up they said we only had it for 24 hours because the person who booked it at the call center messed it up. And now they can’t book another one because they are all booked for the weekend. So, they say we can put our stuff in a storage unit when we drop the Uhaul back (mind you this is a 20 foot Uhaul, so we need a large storage unit). We come back and all they have is a 5 by 9 storage unit??? But don’t worry we can pay $119 each for two more units. This is a horrible company and absolutely no one knows what they are doing. Save yourself the money and time and use a different company (budget moves stuff too).
Had everything thing I needed and was quick with no hassle. Just be careful with the entrance. No stop light to give you a safe exit.

I have a online Reservation and they don’t have the dolly .when I make the reservation it was showing that it’s available in this store I talk to people there they said they don’t have it here!. Send me over Rainer Ave s which is 30 min away from this location!. I call in and try to discuss the problem with manager (Katrin mark) over the phone and ask her if I can dropped back to this location she was so rude and yelling at me on the phone I never see this kind of Customer service it was horrible experience will never come back any of U-Haul locations!. Just waisting time and money!...
UPDATE. They ransacked my car. Things are stolen and the entire inside is a mess. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR WITH THEM.Wish I could give 0 stars.Went there for a hitch installation, had an appointment made weeks ago. When I arrived, a guy Jason laughed at me, saying “yeah that’s not happening today, have you seen this place?” As if it was my fault they were busy. As I awkwardly stood there, him and another man went back and forth of who had to “deal with me”. Finally another guy, Gabe, comes in and promises it’ll be done by 4 or 5.I call at 6:30 (30 min before close) to check in.... and the person who answers has no clue about my car. Says they’ll go look for it?? I get a call back saying it’s there, but has no hitch.So rude, so disorganized and incompetent, and just all around a terrible experience. I emailed Uhual corporate but I’ve heard they don’t respond.Just dumbfounded. Use a different company, or location at least.
I used couple times rent service of U-Haul offices before. However, this office was different. And something extra happened and that changed my mind about U-Haul company.Yesterday I rented a van at this U-Haul office. Today I returned it and decided to rent another one for another day. Employee brought new van right on the exit from U-Haul area to 15th Ave. So this van blocked exit for everyone else, thus I needed to move out immediately. I did not have a chance to check condition of vehicle, mileage etc.I asked employee about details of charge for previous day. I was polite and quiet. However, employee was extremely rude. He screamed with phrases like What do you need??! He screamed on me trying to force me to remove van from exit of the U-Haul area. Because other customers started complaining that they are not able to move out because exit is blocked. I explained, that I have some questions before I move out. And it was not me who put this vehicle at the exit. It was the employee.Finally, employee did not explain me properly details of charge. I did not disagree with charge, however, I just needed explanation of details. And finally I had no other choice then to just move out without proper information.
Disorganized every time Ive visited. Rude attendant today, and was charged for gas even though I filled it up just before dropping off. Ill let amex fix that for me. The shoreline location is much better in my experience.
