This is the only full-scale department store in Lake City, which makes it a necessity. You cant really live in this area without shopping here at some point, and they do a pretty good job at accommodating the traffic. This store hasnt received the cosmetic facelift that some of the other Kroger stores have gotten in recent years, but they are nearly always well-stocked, displays are fresh and appealing, and the staff are generally friendly and helpful despite the fact that they deal with an excessive amount of theft and intoxicated customers. Ample parking, plenty of self checkout. The customer service desk can sometimes be a hassle, but sometimes thats due to customers. My only complaint is the early closing time (10pm). Being that they are the only store of their kind in the vicinity, I really wish they would extend their hours a little later.
It has been great to see our local Freddies grow over the years, even throughout the pandemic they went through a makeover that has made the produce section more spacious and the aisles much better organized with readable labels, much less chaotic. Produce quality has gotten better over past years. They sized down the furniture area and the new floor designs easier to navigate. Theyre not a Metropolitan market and dont pretend to be. The staffs always helpful and some have been there for many years. Theyve pulled in security as needed and that occasional presence helped reduce problems. Kudos to the management, we know its not easy but you are making great improvements.
How many days are you gonna be without Maple donuts! Geez I swear I waste more time at this fred meyer than anywhere else.
Well, the state is pretty much open, business as usual, masks optional, it even says this ON THE DOOR! And yet they refuse to open the dressing rooms. The dressing room is probably the safest place in the store, I dont know about you but I go in alone. Thats just lazy, or stupid
I shop here beacause of its convenient location, but I do try to make the trek out of here as much as possible. The lights make the whole store feel like laboratory and the security doesnt help either, open carrying a gun around. The produce here is not fresh, it feels like its on its second to last day before it goes bad and they cant sell it anymore.Ive seen mold on the shelves of fruit in the store and had vegetables go bad within days of bringing it home
Julian in Garden is so friendly! Outstanding customer service!!! Kelly, the cashier is chill too. Good folks at this location! Thank you!
Save yourself the trip and go to Safeway or Grocery outlet. Customer service? Nope. 👎🏼 Call to talk to a manager, good luck. Plus you can’t pay with your phone....man 🤦♂️
Unfortunately, I hate going shopping for groceries in the first place. I’m indecisive, I have anxiety really bad, and always want a good deal. I usually just want to get what I need and get out but that never works out, I get more or change what I want because although I hate grocery shopping, I do love a good price. I may look at at an item longer than usual ( probably because of my indecisiveness ) but I pay for my items and deal with my buyers remorse at home. Usually during this shopping experience that I hate so much I have one or even two security Guard following me raising my anxiety to the point of fear. Again I pay for my items. I do understand that The security guards are only doing their job and trying to make everyone safe but it’s really disheartening when you are just trying to have a welcoming and smooth shopping experience especially since I’ve been coming there for years, again I pay for my items The remodeling looks great.
Expensive shopping but with 5 star
The bathroom is freaking disgusting especially the toilets. Im never going there ever again
Culture shock for me. People were so rude in here and the store was filthy! Years ago when I lived here Fred Meyers was the upscale store and I loved it. Now, GROSS. I didn’t take that many pictures but I’m sure you get the idea. Doesn’t matter how busy you are Fred Meyer’s you need to keep it clean, this is so disappointing. I won’t be back for a long time. I’ve been to your store three times since I moved back to town and every time it’s been very dirty. Step it up please
Every time I go to this customer service at this Fred Meyers the customer service woman always has an attitude towards me. It makes me not want to come to the store at all. My friend also noticed that theres barely anybody black that goes there and we both agree why. They are rude to us and make us feel uncomfortable. So much we hurried to get what we want and left.
Its a good store, particularly after the remodel. Beats Safeway & Albertsons. No fussing with just 4 U BS as with AlbertsWay. Just fair prices all round and the selection is better.
I had the worst time in that store yesterday. I was by to the entrance/exit trying to transfer my groceries from the brown bags to my own reusable bags. A Fred Myersemployee started to vacuum around me (practically by my feet) she seemed to do it over and over as if she wanted to chase me out of the store. I was terrified by the dirt that was being activated (Covid time) I almost trip over the cord a couple of times. That was an horrifying experience. Even for a Pandemic time that was a costumer service nightmare.
Nothing like having to take 6 trips up and down 8 floors to bring your groceries into your apartment because youre given paper bags with no handles like you timetraveled to the 90s
Remodeling, while doing freight, while the store is open, is an incredibly stupid plan during a pandemic. Reallocating one door for Vendors and construction is absolutely not enough. It is currently close to impossible to social distance in Lake City Fred Meyer. It appears little to no thought for the safety of every person involved was taken into account. But perhaps that should be expected, because dirty reusable bags are allowed to be used now too. Why?? Value your employees.Do better, Fred Meyer. I know it’s not impossible.
I like their new layout, selection is always good. Local retailers like this know their customers and deliver.
Need more cashiers at peak times like after work. 10 full carts deep in only two lines. Self check out longer. Finally a checker shows up but doesnt take the next person in line whos been waiting 15 minutes.
This is your goto grocery...soon to have plug-ins for electric cars
Florist is really bad at this fred meyer compared to all the others in the Seattle area.
This Fred Meyers just hired a new produce manager that is much different then the previous manager. What I mean is, he doesnt shy away from the unconventional fruits and vegetables, when it is time for purchasing. He makes very bold and exciting choices. I have had nothing but very enjoyable experiences when I visit this specific Fred Meyers for mostly this reason. Who doesnt appreciate a large exotic selection, at a much less expensive price? I hope this helps...
It is a very good place to buy all of your groceries. You can also order online to your home or pick up at the store.
Customers are RUDE!! Staff is great.
Fred Meyer is one of my favorite grocery stores in the Seattle area. This one is on the smaller side, but thats ok, made my trip a bit more manageable. I found great deals and enjoyed my shopping trip. Love the large organic and natural items section. This location didnt have clothing, at least I didnt see any. But it has the household items, such as bed and bath, kitchen, etc.Plenty of free parking, bus stops in front and on the side. Easy in, easy out.
Quality, fair price, convenient and friendly staff, it is a one stop shop get everything you need quick and out.
Nobody works upstairs so you can do whatever you want!
Yesterday, October 17th at 1pm was a Hellscape at the Fred’s on Lake City Way. There were two checkers on a Saturday. 2! People in line could not socially distance. There were 12 or more piled up back through the aisles, like Costco before Covid! One guy wore his mask around his chin like, “Still got a mask on” and people were bashing carts into each other because they rearranged everything recently. No manager on duty according to the employees. This number of people had to be illegal. Hello, Covid!! I feel like I need to get tested now.
My least favorite Fred Meyer in the Greater Seattle area. and now theyre renovating during a pandemic....why? now you spend 3x as much time looking for what you need. No employees around to help, I asked the customer service desk person where the pens were now kept and he told me i had to get on line. Really? it will take you 2 seconds to say, aisle 4 or whatever. This location is very dirty and the electric scooters for disabled all have worn out batteries that dont recharge and my attempts to get them to actually do something about it have failed...they just plug them in again and then they run out of juice, leaving you stranded in the back of the store. Lots of employees wearing masks improperly, like the unhelpful woman who stocks the healthfood section who hides behinds boxes and has long phone conversations (with mask down) and the genius who cut a nose breathing hole in his mask. Im at the point now where i dont even go here in an emergency even though its 5 min from my house.
So many employees had their masks dropping below their noses. Incorrect way to wear a mask as nasal particulants are just as infectious as oral!! I probably wont go back until pandemic is over. Very sloppy management!!
This store is dirty!! When it’s busy, long lines while many check-out stands are closed. Workers standing around. And with so many restrictions, now, it’s even worse. I shop at this store because I can walk. Although, I often go to other Fred’s. They are much cleaner😉 But same issues at checkouts!!!
Concert selfless employees go the extra mile
Go thru Kengos lane if you want your groceries to be bagged with TLC (tender loving care). Kengo safely bagged my eggs and potato chips so that they wouldnt be crushed enroute to my home. Kengo packed and organized my meats versus produce!KENGO IS A ROCKSTAR!!I added pic (without his face) to share his awesome bagging skills 👍👍
Huge store, split-level parking, mail box in the front, and also right on the 522 and 376 bus lines. Excellent location, always busy. Deli in the front. The usual selection of Kroger products, but an exceptional bakery. One of the attendants was visibly upset when I wanted to buy something from the display case--as if it was for display only. She finally realized her mistaken emotion, oh yeah! Those pastries are actually for sale. So I bought some. Out of this world delicious. Avoid 4:00 to 6:00 if you can; traffic around this area is a madhouse and backs up into the street--collision alert. After 8:00 p.m. or before 11:00 a.m. is best. Sunday afternoon by 6:00 theyre wiped out on popular items. Tuesday or Wednesday are the best days to shop here, because they get deliveries just before.
I love this Fred Meyer, because the staff here is so friendly and helpful. They treat you like friends or family. The store itself is clean and well stocked, no complaints.
I was treated like a criminal disrespected I have been doing what I went in to this store for the manager was rude and was making rude comments about my native American race be couse of an ex husband will never go back in that store nor will my kids. Being that there native to
Very nice local chain grocery store although somewhat dated. Good selections and best prices on groceries, foods and produce. Love Fred Meyer, my first go to for all grocery needs. Cant go wrong here. Not exactly in a best neighborhood though, lots of homeless and sketchy people hanging outside around the area. I wouldnt shop here at night.
Tried to let customer service know about a car with a door left open in the parking lot and she dismissively gave me a thanks and hung up before I could give them information to send over the intercom.
I love this Fred Meyer because it is within walking distance from my apartment. The store is well-stocked and cleaned with a good selection of products. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially the cashiers. Checkout is fairly quick, even on holidays and weekends. The supervisors seem to care about the staff as far as I have seen.
This isnt my favorite location only because Lake City has some cleaning up to do. So many homeless people in and around the parking lot- not my favorite thing to look at- BUT i should not be complaining about social issues. This FM has friendly, hard working staff, a fairly large organic section and a bus stop right out front making it easily accessible by public transit.
Great for one stop shopping. Excellent prices and selection. Wish the store was set up better and had more customer service employees throughout the store.
This is a decent Fred Meyer, but it doesnt have as large of a natural/healthy food section as other branches. Also, it has 2 floors with no way to bring your cart between them. Housewares and clothes are upstairs, food downstairs. For basic grocery shopping, its fine. The biggest branches of Fred Meyer near here are Greenwood, or Fremont. Both of those stores are almost 2x the size of this location.
Worst Fred Meyer ever. The first week of November I asked when the escalator would be repaired. I was told not until after the first of the year. In the last year the escalator has been out of service MANY times.Theyre too cheap to buy a proper maintenance contract for the escalator...... During their busiest shopping season. Extremely foolish .Then, theres the entry to the store on the main level. The way people should enter, get a cart, and proceed into the store is aggravating to, say the least. Basically you are REQUIRED to enter through the produce department. It is so badly designed it is ridiculous and infuriating.I talked to managers there about this stuff and more. Their response is a too polite response and a blank look.Dont get me started on the way they price their meats.I first shopped in this dive in the 80s. It was equally terrible then. Then they added the upstairs sales floor and it got much much worse.Terrible management on all levels. The workers are fine.Oh, and the prices are awful. At least in the 80s they had better than competitive prices.
Dont come here if youre in a hurry. There are three people strolling around the front doing nothing and one person running the till. Why is that? The children working here are beyond annoying and shout every thought that comes in their heads to their co workers
This local grocery chain is awesome. It truly is a one stop shop that has everythin. From kitchen ware, garden supplies, clothes, and of course groceries. It is normally pretty busy but for good reason.
Love this place! I have been coming here for many years, I have seen many staff come and go. However, the ones that have stayed are all great! Great place to find just about anything you need. I would avoid the paint though as I painted my house with what was suppose to be white paint, however it dried purple in some areas.
Love the store, shop there all the time, but today Im very disappointed in the cake that ordered! I brought in a picture for them to scan onto the cake which had LOL dolls which were pink and glittery, not only was the picture crooked but they outlined the cake in purple then wrote happy birthday in red of all colors. And then there was suppose to be Bavarian cream in the middle and there was only thin line of it right at the top, like they forgot to put it in and the. Remembered after they made it. Just very disappointed, you would think they would have more pride in decorating and making the cake perfect, especially for 40.00 dollars!
Theyve always had what I was looking for, and its a nice big two story floor. The parking lot can be shady though; Ive seen people doing hard drugs on the sidewalk outside, and more than once seen needles lying around. Otherwise if you live nearby its a good place to do your shopping.
I love this Fred Meyer, because the staff here is so friendly and helpful. They treat you like friends or family. The store itself is clean and well stocked, no complaints.
I lived walking distance from this Fred Meyer for 8 years, and I was so sad when we moved away because I grew to count on it being there. They have everything you could ever need all in one store. Their organic section of produce is incredible, and better than anything youll find anywhere else in north Seattle except maybe Central Market or Whole Foods (but who wants to pay those prices?). I think the staff is incredibly friendly and able, especially given the less than easy clientele they have to deal with on a regular basis at this Lake City location. A great neighborhood store, and you cant beat the prices!
Shopping for instacart...the layout is less than intuitive with organics separate from regular groceries. It sucked going back and forth. Staff was very helpful, though. If I was rating the store itself id give 1.5/5 but the people who work here are really great. They deserve raises, more PTO, and stock options.
If I could give no stars I would. Very unhelpful and disrespectful staff. The PIC of the store was belittling me in the background while I was on the phone with other staff. The head manager couldn’t figure out any reciprocity due to an uncaring nature. Still in awe of my experience there. Very immature and incompetent lead staff. Save yourself the headache and head to Safeway.
Huge, 2-floor worth of goods. Produce section is well stocked and well priced. A lot of good deals on household items and I have always received very good service from the staff. One time a new staff member was rude to me, and the manager (whom knows me well) intervened immediately and solved the problem. I like this place.
Customer service is a hit or a miss, but its always a good store for a quick in and out. The prices are pretty decent! So, thats a plus. I will, however, warn EVERYONE not to leave anything visible in your vehicle!!! Nope nope nope!!! Put your stuff in the trunk before getting to the parking lot. Transients are usually around, but in 2018 where arent they...
Great staff, great service, great prices.... Stuck in the 80s or 90s...everything feels amt like old, dusty, outdated, nor modern, fresh, inviting, well organized. We have visited so many awesome, new, revamped Fred Meyers in the region. When will this one ever be upgraded?? :/ :p
I used to love shopping here until a worker/my boyfriends ex-wife stalked me through the store. It was creepy. I would think Kroger had some policy forbidding this behavior. Ive had to change my shopping hours dramatically and I dont get to see the other employees I actually was quite fond of. Get it together Kroger. Employees shouldnt ruin the shopping experience for customers.
Pharmacy has some online issues, but service in person is on par & friendly. Store has a good selection of items you cant find elsewhere in the area. Self check out is fast.
The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating! They love kids (even the screaming ones) and theres a free fruit basket for children while shopping. Has a health food section that has most of the stuff Ive looked for at reasonable prices. In season produce is cheap and very good quality (I shop once a week and its still good by next shopping day). Check for coupons for dairy products in the flyer -- most coupons are also printed out and left near the items on sale.Self checkout is easy and very helpful. Stroller/handicap accessible. Large toy and clothing section upstairs.
Very busy store... I like the feel of the classic marketplace. Nice that escalators dont work yet, I take the stairs, lose weight, get healthy and buy more. Clever merchants
The store is wonderful. Spoke to Manager Scott about price matching and he was more than happy to oblige! Great service!
I went in today to return a remote and the manager Faye denied the return because I didn’t bring the battery cover.. fine I go home and get it and come back because I want a remote that will work with my TV she is gone when I get back and had the lady at that desk deny me as well, she didn’t even look at at it. I am more than upset I will only go there once more and that will only be to fill out a formal complaint.John W
The front checkout staff are friendly and helpful as are *some* of the department staff. But others are either seemingly perturbed to help or dont have an answer to your question. Almost every week they are out of some item, usually the same item, in produce or bakery. Even after you ask them to increase their ordering so that they are not short, they must not because the same items are out by end of week. Staff wait too long in produce to restock items, waiting until there is nothing in certain sections before replenishing.
Besides them watching me like a hawk which is bull**** it was ok
I love the Natural Organic section. Ryley was a very nice young man and helpful. Thanks Fred Meyer
This store has good food selection, however, the security is bad and I have on several occasions seen people walk out with merchandise. This is frustrating and apparently to get attention to the situation I need to write a review. I hope this store can find a way to help reduce the theft and keep a good neighborhood business afloat.
I like Fred Meyer as it seems to have most things you need for your house from groceries, to household goods to furniture. The quality of the products are better than Walmart or Target and they even have a garden department with a good selection of pots, plants and flowers.
This particular Fred Meyer meets my expectations. The store is relatively clean and so far I havent had issues of items being out of stock. The produce section is a tad small so if you are going for produce I would suggest going elsewhere.
Great friendly service. Always find everything Im looking for. Very clean store.
They seem to allow dogs in the store. Which is a health code violation. Not to mention a hazard. Today a husky jumped on my back while I was bending over to retrieve items from my basket. I was not prepared for a 40-50 lb dog to jump on me and it hurt my back. I am a firm dog lover but I would never bring my dog in a place that has food. Terribly disappointed the Fred Meyer security did not ask the patron to leave her dog in the car or at home
Its convenient for me to do my shopping not only does the Make City Way Fred Myers have everything anyone could possibly need but its so close to where I live that I can walk to and from. The only this g I can think of that brothers me about the Lake City location Fred Myers is that it does not have as many items and choices as the other Fred Myer locations that are only a little bit further but if youre driving it is worth the drive to the 85th and Greenwood Freddys location.
Staff are great, deli was good, better prices then QFC, similar taste. Store is two levels, pretty cool store really. They could work on lowering their OTC pharmacy prices, though.
Very good customer service!
They always have what I need, one stop shopping. Its usually very busy, crowded.Friendly, helpful staff.
Good people, Good store. Better now that they cleaned out the transience. Didnt want to go in with the kids.
Great sales on Halloween merchandise and Husky gear. Did not have to wait in line for self check out even though the store was busy. There were some questionable characters around in the parking lot and such but otherwise great experience!
I live nearby thus often attend this place. Store is very cheap, especially grocery. Cashiers are helpful in everything. I recommend this store to everyone!
Great service going above and beyond looking for hard to find tools. They called other FM stores and found what I needed.
The exterior of this location could use some attention. It appears a bit neglected. Inside was nice and clean, a surprising difference. Staff was very friendly and helpful but the people there....Class act. Kids had the best manors with my short visit. Grown adults yelling at their older parents, others arguing amongst each other with in earshot of everyone, it was a circus.
I like the one-stop aspect. There was a grocery store and department store!
Great selection, helpful clerks, reasonable prices. Only complaint I have is the homeless problem around it. Fine other than that though.
I found what I desired. The cost was less than I expected for the Pepper Jack and muffin mixes. I made it to my next bus in time to make all my connections home. Where else can I do that in town?
This fred Meyers is right up the street from my house, and there is almost always a security check in aisle 8. Fidgety people in t shirts in 38 degree weather is pretty normal too. Aside from that they have a great organic section and staff is easily locatable if need.
I just...really like food, man, and this place has great selections of everything. When I applied way back in order to make a cover letter I also learned they support local schools/communities so its nice that you can get food and help people. I guess one awkward thing is that homeless people tend to camp around there, and they always vanish before I can bring them the extra food I get for them. :D Theres a cute little coffee stand thing inside though??
This Fred Meyer has upper and lower parking so you can shop for plants, clothes, etc. upstairs and not go down to groceries/electronics. Some days I get things from almost all the departments: one stop convenience!
The store pretty much covers everything one needs to get settled into a new place, while providing the typical items a grocery store is expected to have. Fellow shoppers are also noticeably friendly if you like random conversations.
Its a one stop shop in Lake City Way for everything you can possibly need. From electronics to garden plants and supplies, most at value prices. Plenty of parking too. Time your trip during off shopping hours and youll have a pleasant shopping experience.
Ok. Fresh produce. Good selection of organic produce. Out of 3 of the 5 ad items I came in to buy in grocery Dept.
Good parking space. Fairly big. The only thing missing is a gas station.
This Fred Meyers is gross. When you walk in you are greeted by the smell of two week old fried chicken. The entire store needs to be cleaned. They never have a good selection of fresh produce. Most of the time they are out of stock so you are left with the undesirable fruits and veggies. They have an almost non existent selection of asian ingredients. If I had the choice between shopping here and scavenging for scraps out of a Applebees dumpster I would choose the dumpster every time.
Not great. Lots of out of stock items no matter what time it is. No consistency in time or day if the spicy chicken sandwiches. SMH.
Fred Meyers is very close to me, so the convenience factor is really nice. The only reason Im giving it 4 instead of 5 starts is the large and dimly lit parking lot. Im hesitant to go at night for fear of bumping into the wrong people.
This location has some of the nicest employees
We stopped in for a quick convenience grab and ended up finding multiple items wed been unable to find at several other stores, including Safeway, Walmart, and Bartels! Other than that, it was the standard Fred Meyer experience, good selection, process, and friendly staff.
The cashier alex was a friendly experience. All five stars go to him for making what is normally a bland experience a pretty alright experience. Fred meyer itself is a star for convenience, selection, and cleanliness. After subtracting the two stars for huge in your face security systems and personal in your face cameras down the aisle makes for a very uncomfortable shopping experience. We get it. You are watching and recording, do you really need to put what you see in our face. In other words. Get off us bro
